Tahoe Seasons Resort

This hotel was very disappointing. While there were a few highlights we will never be returning.
The rooms are very dated and need updating. Beds are old and small. While it wasn’t a problem for us, I can see the bathroom configuration being very problematic as there is a huge hot tub in the middle of the room (jets don’t work) and that is also the only shower with very little privacy.
The internet is almost non existent. It took 42 seconds for the Unilocal webpage to load for me to leave this review. The front desk was clueless and kept telling us to login to a non existent network. If you expect to do anything that requires internet or cell phone access (it is a dead zone) you are going to be out of luck.
The lone bright spot for us was the food, which was surprisingly good. This may have been because our expectations were so low by the time we made it to the restaurant that anything that didn’t give us food poisoning would be a pleasant surprise — but the food was good. They should keep the restaurant open for more than 2 hours a day.

The prefect location was the only reason for a star!
When we arrived, we find out they have no parking, you have to valet and believe me every time you want your car you feel like you have to tip!
When we checked in and I gave them my card they said it declined, I was unable to get on the VERY slow internet before we went ahead and gave them my husbands card. When we got to our room and checked our accounts the funds had been taken from both our accounts. We were there for a destination wedding (these are pretty price to begin with) I don’t to many people who are okay with having 1000.00 taken from their accounts and not returned for 6 DAYS! We tried to be understanding when the desk clerk told us there was NOTHING they could do!!! But I do think they could have compensated us in some small way for the inconvenience. That never happened, no call from the manager, who by the way was not there on a Thursday afternoon to talk to us about it!
So we decide to soak in the awkwardly placed hot tub (its in the middle of the room) only to find out the jets have been removed because of water conservation in California, REALLY!!! I can fill the very large tub up but can not circulate the that said water with the jets, tell me how that saves water!!! Never again!

Decent sized but slightly awkward rooms. The living-​room and bedroom are separated by a bathroom and giant jetted tub/​shower with shutter doors. The shower hits you at full blast and it’s almost impossible to give your child a bath in the monster bathtub. Parking is valet only, they were all fantastic! They were just purchased by a timeshare company and the concierge will try to push a tour of a different hotel on you. They don’t provide carts for your luggage but will provide a bell hop. The pool is outdoors and very dated. The coating on it is the horrible rough and bumpy skin piercing stucco. We visited during the off season and shared the pool with at least 100 flies. They have a game room with old school arcade games as well as a skeletal general store. Very close to heavenly ski and a couple restaurants but not within a walking distance of the lake. The hotel will do laundry for you for a fee but there are no guest laundry facilities in site.

I am so glad I decided last minute to book an overnight stay at Tahoe Seasons Resort for 3÷19÷16. My husband and I had planned to do a day trip to Heavenly and I suggested the idea of booking a room instead of making the drive back since it was just the two of us. We looked at different options and he found this location for a very reasonable price, especially since we booked it two days before our reserved date. We browsed through the photos and pretty much knew what we were getting into, and didn’t have high expectations since we just needed a place to rest.
A lot of the reviews mentioned that this hotel is across the street from Heavenly and we had ridden the gondola down so we actually had it confused with the main street but when we took the bus up to the California Lodge at Heavenly, we realized that driving across the parking lot, you would reach the hotel. SO CLOSE! Except, we didn’t do that and made a loop, but that’s beside the point.
When we arrived, George checked us in and he was able to give us an extended check out time. THANKS CLARK! The valet took care of our car and got us our bellhop to dolly our luggage. Our bellhop, Steve, was extremely helpful. First off, he was able to get our snowboards checked in with a FREE WAX and secondly, he rattled off a whole list of restaurants we could check out in the area.
When we got to our room, we were amazed at how spacious is was. It was much more than we had expected. Upon opening the door, you step into the living room area where a 2 seated sofa sits, which rolls out into a bed. There was a small coffee table and a TV to entertain, as well as a small closet. Not too far away and very noticeable is the big tub jacuzzi, with private shutters all around. There is an outside sink area with plenty of counter space. The toilet area is its own space, with the privacy of a door. In addition to that area is another small closet for your belongings, as well as 2 extra fleece blankets.
The bedroom area, which was the only amount of space we had expected, was very sizable. There was a booth-​like area that seats four, five max and adjacent to it was a small area for a sink, refrigerator, microwave and some shelving/​cabinet space. There was another TV *gasp* and we had a nice view of the outdoor pool and jacuzzi area, which I did not notice until the next morning because we didn’t even bother looking out the windows when we got in. The gas fire place was a nice touch. We absolutely made good use out of it because we were able to dry out our snowboarding boots, very essential to our routine. Now to the bed. It’s not the most comfortable bed but what do you really expect? The husband and I were able to sleep fine on it, after expending our energy into a day of boarding.
Overall, we are very pleased with our stay and I kept repeatedly saying to my husband, «I am so glad we decided to stay. It had everything we needed and more!» It’s not that often a 3 star hotel makes that good of an impression. We don’t travel to South Lake Tahoe often but we are definitely keeping this resort in mind for our next visit. I’d also like to note that when we called housekeeping for some extra toiletries (i.e. shampoo, conditioner, soap) they went above and beyond and brought us an extra stack of towels and a bag full of bathroom toiletries as well as coffee essentials (which we don’t drink)!! George, thank you for the great recommendation to Jalisco Grill. Steve, thank you for the fantastic dinner and brunch recommendations. The staff here really makes an effort to make their guest feel welcomed. We are looking forward to our next stay.

The valet in this hotel is exceptional. They are very attentive.
Now front desk is more distance and don’t stay in the front. I felt I was disturbing them when I came near the desk.
The rooms are spacious, large spa tub, tiny bathroom, microwave, fridge, small sink, no plates, forks, spoons, or knives. Bring your own or stop at the store on the way.
Fireplace, button to turn on is inside the fireplace.
There is no maid service or refresher service. The spa jets do not work due the cost of cleaning the jets out.
The positive is walk across the street and go ski. Avoid the rooms the sit at the front facing pool, and spa, you can hear all conversations.
I appreciate that they don’t use toxic perfumed hallway sprays.
I recommend.

Location. Location. Location. I love not being on highway 50! If you enjoying skiing at Heavenly this is the perfect location! You can walk to the tram from here. The resort is right across the street! Staff were all very friendly and helpful too! Going out of their way to tell me about a specific place that would have a great selection of ski pants for picky daughter.
Rooms had an awkward layout. My whole family went and we got a laugh out of the dated hot tub in the middle of the room with shutters around it! Also the sofa bed and bed were very soft. Nice touches were a large bathroom, 2 closets and an electric fireplace. There was also a small fridge as well as a microwave. If they updated this place it would be a 5 star for sure! I would love to go back in the summer back up to heavenly when it isn’t operating… it seems like it would be very peaceful.

Pros — The staff is very nice and its across the street from a ski lift.
Cons — The resort is old and antiquated. The bed is way too soft. I woke up with an aching back every morning. We couldn’t adjust our room to a comfortable temperature without the unit making loud and unpleasant noises. The room has a humongous hot tub in the living room area, but you cannot turn on the jets; and the onsite restaurant is closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays for breakfast. This resort needs to be updated.
I rated the resort a three because the staff was very warm, friendly, attentive; and they are very knowledgable about the local activities and restaurants in the area.

I stayed here over the past weekend and the service was great. We have been coming to this for almost 20 years for Superbowl. I left some personal items in my room upon departure. Jose took the initiative to retrive and UPS them to me free of charge. I had them the next day. That’s great service 5 stars! Stay overall was very good. The only additional comment I have was that the breakfast food was not up to par this year. The service was good, but the food was ok. There was recently a change of management, so I will blame it on the change over.

Stayed here over the weekend with 4 friends while snowboarding at Heavenly. I’ve read a lot of reviews regarding the quality of the rooms — I paid a very little amount (split with friends I came up with) and I felt that it was MORE than worth it. The rooms are laid out rather funny, with a giant hot tub in the middle. The room seems outdated in a way, but has plenty of room (bed, pullout couch, plenty of floor space, etc.). It has shutters/​curtains you can close so it acts as a giant shower. Beds were comfortable, electric fire/​heater worked great and I was completely warm during my entire stay (with a storm occurring outside my window).
Valet/​Bell desk were awesome — Steve is an excellent employee and was extremely helpful during my stay. Valet is free, they will unload your entire car and park it for you (able to get it/​leave whenever you want). Resort is conveniently located within 50 yds of Heavenly, couldn’t ask for anything more convenient. The resort (and Keller/​Ski Hill Rd. on the way there) is on a steep hill and gets extremely icy — so be careful.
Overall, I’d recommend this resort to anyone as it is excellent, especially for the price. If you’re looking for a luxury room, maybe this isn’t the place but I was completely content during my entire stay.

We specifically chose this place because it was walking distance to the California Lodge at Heavenly — which is the major selling point, IMO. There are A LOT of pros of staying here. And there are a lot of weird aspects of staying here. But overall, if we were to come back to Tahoe and there was a good deal for a room here, we would probably take it.
Here are the pros:
— Free Valet Parking — this can be a con if you like to just grab your car and go — but since we didn’t really need to do that so often because we were walking distance to the lifts, etc. that wasn’t too much of a concern. The parking attendants were also very professional, courteous and helpful.
— Fairly large room — we had the one bed suite which was ample room for my husband, son and I and another guest to crash on the sofa. Felt the value was good for what we got.
— Small fridge and microwave worked well
— Free wifi (pro and a con — free, but sooooo slow — however, one of the few ways we had reception to call and text other people because this hotel is a T-​Mobile dead zone)
— Free ski/​snowboard valet — you can check them in so you don’t have to lug them to your room. We didn’t take advantage of this service because my husband would rather have his eyes on our boards at all times, but if that’s not an issue for you, the guy who runs that part of the hotel is super nice.
— If you go to the concierge, they will try to sell you a timeshare (con!) but they will also offer you a discount card to some really great restaurants in the area ranging from 10−20% off.
— Rooms were very clean.
— You can sled across the street — albeit they aren’t groomed runs or anything — but it gets the job done
— Small convenience store downstairs has some essentials like bottled water, drinks, tacky shot glasses, socks, hats, etc. if you forgot that stuff at home.
The weirdness:
— Ok, so like everyone else is saying — there’s a HUGE hot tub right smack dab in the middle of the room! It’s so odd. And the jets don’t even work to conserve water. It really should have been a kitchen there.
— You could tell the rooms need updating. Upon opening cabinets and drawers, it definitely feels like the last time they did any updating was in the 90s, at the latest.
— You have to shower in the hot tub. You better be comfortable spending time with the people you’re staying with at this place because there’s only a flimsy shower curtain dividing you and the bathroom.
— No fan in the bathroom toilet area/​hot tub area…
— The bar downstairs is out of commission.
— The game room is a joke. Half of the arcades are broken, the pool table looks like it’s seen better days. And ironically, there are three plaques of «hotel excellence» that this hotel won in the 80s and 90s and then it abruptly ended. I’m guessing that’s the last time they actually put effort in renovating/​taking care of this hotel?
— SUPER, SUPER dry in the room. It made it so uncomfortable to sleep. We were wishing we brought our humidifier to make it more comfortable.
— Staff kept encouraging us to go to Sierra at Tahoe instead of Heavenly. Why? It almost felt like they were pressuring us to get lift tickets for Sierra from them. Not sure about the drive to push us away from going to Heavenly when it is literally down the parking lot? Anyway, it was odd.
Overall, most of the quips I had about this hotel are not significant enough to prevent us from staying there again. And we did witness a lot of people bringing electric skillets, portable hot plates, etc. so people have kind of been bringing their kitchens to this resort to make it feel more «homely». That could be a major draw or drawback for you. But overall, we mostly stayed here to sleep — 90% of the day was on the slopes anyway, so maybe that’s why we didn’t feel too bothered by the weird aspects of this place.

One of the reasons we choose this hotel was for the jetted tub, which was advertised, upon check we found they had disabled all the jets to save water…, valet and bell were very nice and prompt as was the front desk. Our room was quite cold, as it was about 2 degrees outside, but the thermostat wouldn’t go above 75 degrees, so twice we had to have maintenance come override it. The lobby is very nice and set up well not to mention you can sled across the street and walk to Heavenly mountain. Be warned if you come in the winter have all wheel drive or at least chains as the hotel is on top of a very steep road. The first few days we were there the breakfast place was open and the dinner place too, but towards the end both were closed until further notice, well that leaves the small gift shop or domino’s, not good. The room was fine, didn’t mind the setup. Will not be back again.

This maybe a little premature — its only my first night here out of seven… but, wow… impressive! I echo everyone else’s thoughts in the previous reviews… its a little redundant to repeat everything they said. The only little thing I have to say is different is that I think the Wifi is spot on and pretty fast not spotty… I’ll update this post at the end of my stay but… yes, its looking good!

I give this hotel 3 stars because the rooms are bizzare. I felt like I was staying in a motor home. Cleaning service is offered 2x for week long stays. However we only got one cleaning on day 2 and was skipped the rest of the week. When I called to inquire the staff had only excuses. Also there is a huge jucuzzi tub, but no kichenette. A Micro and fridge wedged into a small space. Cupboards but no dishes included. I would personally prefer a more functional kichenette to a jucuzzi. Did I mention the shower is also inside the jucuzzi tub? Just like a bathtub setup in an RV.
Close location to Heavenly, lake, and shopping. Vallet included.

This is mostly about the bell desk. John and Steven are two of the most unfriendly people I have ever had the «pleasure» of meeting. The place is a dump as well. Management seems to be stuck in whatever decade this place was built. I recommend finding somewhere else to stay. One plus Matthew the concierge was very helpful and very knowledgeable of the area 5 STARS for him.

Valet parking only which sucks if you like to leave the resort often. Shower is in the «jetted tub» which jets have been disabled for drought reasons… So the entire main feature of the room doesn’t work.
Nothing within walking distance… So no food, Starbucks, shopping without pulling your car out of valet. (they have a café and bar but hour of operation are super limited)
The bed in the room extremely uncomfortable and the room is old… Only good thing is it’s close to ski lift so when it’s snowing your right by heavenly.
I will not stay here again…

Not impressed at all! The rooms are strangely laid out and very outdated. The room is built around a hot tub/​shower that is awful! The shower pressure is a bit like a camp ground shower, airy and cold. I couldn’t imagine using that same cold water in a tub. And according to the bell service the jets on the tub don’t work. With that said, building the room around a useless tub you can imagine what the rest feels like. When you are in the room, you have the same feeling like you are in a RV. Nothing wrong with an RV, but this isn’t the best kept secret they claim on their website. And why pay to stay in a «resort» that feels like you’re camping. I would rather be camping.
I gave 2 stars because it is clean.
Not impressed with the staff. At first we had a great bell man, you aren’t allowed to park your own car and they don’t allow you to use their carts to bring up your luggage, so you have to relay on the bell service. At first, when we arrived they were super nice. But we came when they weren’t busy. Being that they have to do everything, without an option for us, their hand is out waiting for tips and it is super uncomfortable.
And finally, the front desk, especially a staff member named George. He was rude, unaccommodating, and completely ignorant. Each desk doesn’t know the «RULES» from the other. Each place tells you something different from the rest. From the concierge right next to the front desk is unaware of what is going on with the next. For example, the gift shop tells you that their is a free shuttle to the casinos and then the front desk has no idea what you are talking about. And it tells you something, that this place is lacking class when they charge you for room keys. I don’t think a Motels do that. Let’s just say, for being in the hospitality business there is no hospitable people available, unless you have money to hand over for their personal pocket.
Sadly, I would not recommend this place to anyone. I never have written a Unilocal review before, but definitely felt inclined to do so after such a horrible experience. The room by itself was live able, dealing with the valet was do able, but after the experience with George and the rest of the staff I would suggest finding someone else to go.

My family has had timeshare here since I was an infant and we come up every summer. (Now my husband and I stay elsewhere for our sanity and space.) I have a ton of sentimental attachment to this place but it’s very average in terms of accommodations.
The staff here have watched my sisters and me grow up over the course of the last 30 years we’ve been coming, so many of us are on first name basis. The staff does not rotate very much and all are very committed to Tahoe and to this specific resort. That speaks to the classic nature of this place! Pat is a fantastic valet staffer and Dani is a great concierge. Staff is all very friendly and helpful.
My favorite aspects are…
The roof top with free volleyball, shuffle board, tennis, BBQs and seating areas. They have some beautiful views of the trees and surrounding mountains. The hot tub option in the room (which will make your room humid, FYI). Great air conditioning system in the bedroom. Lots of closet and drawer space for a small family or small group to use. They provide towels and some discounts to restaurants, entertainment, and excretions in the area.
What I don’t like is…
The bar/​lounge is not open during the week, the pool and jacuzzi are always packed to the gills, and the rooms don’t have a kitchen in them. There is a mini fridge but when you’re there for a full week you’ll want to cook at some point. Your option is to use the BBQs at the resort either down by the pool or up on the roof. It’s not a huge pain but it does take some planning. It’s valet only and very limited street parking (I don’t think overnight street parking is available). There is not a view of the lake from the resort (even the roof).
Tip: Get there extra early to check in and ask for a room with a balcony. They are all shared balconies but it’ll make your space feel more expansive. There are lounge chairs and tables on all balconies free for you to use. Bring your own alcohol for your room to enjoy during the weekdays when the bar in the lobby is closed. Also, bring your own plates, utensils, and cups/​glasses if you plan on having some self-​made BBQ meals there!

My boyfriends mom’s boyfriend had a few extra days in a time share room he booked at the Tahoe Seaons’s Resort and offered us the keys to allow us to stay for the weekend since they weren’t going to be able to use it through those days.
The hotel itself is pretty dated, but the TV’s are all new and the beds are comfortable and that suited us just fine. In our room there was a huge hot-​tub style bath tub/​shower situation which was a little weird, but also kind of awesome in a really groovy 1970’s kind of way (considering the vibe I was actually pretty disappointed they didn’t also include complimentary bubble bath liquid)
We really enjoyed the proximity to the heavenly shopping center and the fact that there was a little arcade/​pool table area that we definitely utilized a few times.
The down side to our particular room, which if you’re located on the valet side, we heard cars coming and going all night and all morning due to the very thin walls, which was kind of a bummer seeing as usually no one wants to wake up at 8am on a vacation.
If you’re not looking to spend too much time in your hotel, you won’t mind the accommodations at Tahoe Seasons Resort one bit.

Tahoe Seasons is a resort that is not your run of the mill hotel. It’s an older property and it’s one of those quirky places that you either love it or you hate it as it does take some getting used to.
The layout of the room is a bit strange as there is a humongo hot tub right smack dab in the middle of it. It can get a little akward if you are sharing the room with friends. In a one bedroom suite, the tub and the restroom area separates the living are and the bedroom. There is no kitchen, so do not expect to do any in room cooking. The do provide you with a toaster, fridge, microwave and coffee maker.
We have stayed there many times over the years as we love it! The staff is always very friendly. The bellmen have been working there forever! It’s great to see the same faces whenever we return. It’s like coming home. They have valet parking so your vehicle is always warm and toasty when they bring it back up to you.
We love this place because it is kitty corner from the tram. A quick walk across the street and parking lot, and a ride up the tram and you’re on the slope! So much more convenient than taking the goldola from town. It is so packed down there and there is always a long snaking line (no, thank you!)
If you get tired skiing, you have the option of taking the tram back down (or skiing down Gunbarrel (yikes!), walking across the parking lot, crossing the street and going back into the room for a quick lunch before going back up again (if you’re not too tired).
Just be careful driving down Keller Road (if you dare) after it snows. That road can get icy and cars have gone sliding down the hill. It’s not unusual to have little pileups at the bottom because people don’t know how to drive on it. Consider yourself warned!

Awesome! And let me first say that #1 valet and bell hop service was SPECTACULAR! Thank you especially to Steve who went above and beyond in helping us, and was super sweet to us and our kids.
Thank you so much to the wonderful staff at Tahoe Seasons! You all went above and beyond to accommodate our family of 7. Our kids loved every minute of the Hotel, especially the heated pool and outdoor jacuzzi. We had forgotten to bring a cork screw for our wine and called downstairs. We brought our bottles down and they opened them and had a bucket of Ice ready for the bottles! Awesome advice to where we should go for dinner and so much more!
It was an awesome experience to come back from snow boarding to an awesome Staff and very cool hotel suite. We booked a 2bedroom suite which was basically 2 rooms that had a had a connecting door. The room is a bit outdated but it was cozy, CLEAN, comfortable and felt like a home away from home! We even had Pizza Hut deliver us a late night snack lol!
Bell Hop and Valet staff were SUPERB and we can’t wait to make the trip back to stay even in the summer! With heavenly Litteraly right across the street it’s convenient.
***one thing I do recommend make things easier and book OVER THE PHONE**** and also NO STREET PARKING, it is VALET ONLY and truly they were sweet, nice *****
