Stardust Lake Tahoe

We stayed 4 nights through Christmas time and enjoyed the place. We had a deluxe studio, it was rather small but had every feature you could need for a winter vacation. The place was VERY close to Gondola, you can walk to it in 5min carrying your board. Our unit was quiet as it was on the back of the complex (the 400s).
However, i’d like to complain about two things:
1. there was this low hanging light over the small dining table in our unit. It was so low that i bumped my head into it three times and my head hurts. It was also so dim, i don’t quite understand why it’s there in the first place
2. On our way to the place, we called to ask some questions. Whoever picked up the phone put us on hold for more than 5min. Funny thing was that I could hear him breathing on the phone so he wasn’t on the other line or anything. He may have put the phone just on the table while doing something else… But he wasn’t talking or typing, so what could he be doing? playing with his cellphone? it was very spooky. Called again, the same thing happened
Other than these, the place is great for a SLT vacation stay and we will definitely come back if we visit SLT again

we had a bad experience with another motel in tahoe and wanted to find something for a disable family member when we called and spoke to Emily and informed her of what happen to us she said come over we can find a room for yourself and your family member we arrived and she was great looking to find the perfect room and she did great view of the mountain and no staris to climb for the family member

This place was very homey and welcoming, we were stuck in a snow storm and this was our safe haven, we would definitely stay again.

We always have a good time when we stay at the Stardust. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff is very helpful and friendly. But the BEST thing about our stay has to be the convenient location. Everything is within walking distance. Literally steps away from the NV side for gaming and or shows. The beautifully renovated area has anything you could ask for from shops, to dining, to the latest movies, plus the gondola!

We stayed the night while in Tahoe with our car club. The Stardust was nicely restored. Service desk attendee was polite and good. The only reason for the 3 stars is the Murphy bed pretty much ruined my experience here. It was not comfortable at all. Everything else was great. Ehhh sleep is over rated! :)

Just arrived and its live music night. Listening to Fabrizio belt out all the oldies and goodies below the stars and the twinkling lights with a glass of wine and just congratulating myself on arriving at this moment in time. We’re here a little earlier in the season than usual and its warmer and busier but somehow completely possible to carve out your own private niche at the Stardust. Can’t wait to barbecue on the roof deck and walk to the lake and go on a hike and go get a massage and and and and and and. Sleep like and angel. Love you Tahoe, love you every time Stardust.

We are enjoying our vacation at the Stardust. The staff is well organized and energetic. We love the little morning breakfast, the bicycles and fishing poles. We have a studio which is quiet and well appointed. The Murphy
bed is very comfy. The location is perfect… right across from Heavenly gondola and shops, and one block from casinos. I would have totally overlooked this place if we didn’t have points to use… am glad we now know what this place is about. Will stay here again!

I CAN’T WAIT TO COME BACK TO THE STARDUST NEXT WEEKEND!!!
I was thoroughly taken aback, and very upset, by the 7÷27÷15 review… I have stayed at The Stardust, no joke, probably between 50 and 60 times, and each time it’s been amazing!
My parents purchased a time share at The Stardust when I was about 12 years old, and I’m now 51. I can honestly say I’ve enjoyed staying at The Stardust for every age I’ve been, from a kid endlessly frolicking in one of the 2 sparkling pools, to this stage of my life, sipping on some red wine, gazing at the stars, while relaxing in the super clean hot tub. The ongoing Karaōke and other activities bring back so many fond family memories…
The room sizes are VERY COMFORTABLE, and although there is no AC, there are large built-​in, and free-​standing fans in every room, that do wonders when the temp gets high.
Most of the house-​keeping and maintenance staff is bi-​lingual, and they are all VERY SWEET AND ACCOMMODATING!!! If you happen to encounter an employee that does not speak or understand English that well, all you need to do is ask to speak to someone else, or place a quick call to the office; really, it’s not that hard!
The reviewer also failed to mention all of the other FREEBIES that The Stardust has, that other, MORE EXPENSIVE, resorts do not: A complementary breakfast that is more than just donuts and coffee — they have hard boiled eggs, bananas and/​or oranges, and a variety instant oatmeal too! — bicycles, on-​site gym, unlimited movies, board games, the list goes on and on!
And the comment about Motel 6?! Sorry, but that’s just plain ridiculous! That doesn’t even deserve a reply!!!
Really, you won’t be disappointed!!!

Location, Location, Location! Casino’s in walking distance, movies, ice cream, Starbucks, gondola all within walking distance.
Professional, friendly, informative staff. Kenny is absolutely the best! The employees bend over backwards to make certain your stay is the best it could possibly be. Room attendants bring you whatever you need ie: a fan, iron, extra towels, etc.
There is entertainment and crafts for kids daily. Tie dye, karaōke, bingo, etc. special BBQs for extremely reasonable prices. Hiking, golfing, touring, biking. Exercise room. Jacuzzi. 2 pools.
Beautifully remodeled rooms with very current up to date trends.

The worst experience ever! Had our personal items stolen from in front of the motel. Cameras don’t work. Paid $ 230.00 a nite. No beds. Room was closet size and no AC. Older and dated. Run by maids, few who speak English. No mgmt. On site. Went across street to Lake Tahoe Resort (old Embassy Suites) Huge room full amenties. Top security. Vallet parking. 5 star service .$ 20 bucks more. Like night and day. Do not stay here. MOTEL 6 is better than this.

We had an excellent vacation and stay at the Stardust. We had a 1 bedroom room and the place was clean and cozy. I could see how it could get a little «tight» if you try to pack too many people into a room, but for two people the 1 bedroom was awesome and plenty of space. Also the bed and pillows were very comfortable.
Location: You can not beat this location! It is directly across from the gondola and heavenly restaurants. On the same side of the street are more restaurants and little shops. And a nice short walk down the street is the beach, where you can get free passes and towels at the front desk! Also… as you walk down some of the side streets you begin to love and appreciate the Startdust a little more, compared to some of it’s neighboring motels…
Amenities: We used the back pool which never had anyone else in it. Pool was warm and clean. Plus no one bothered us about having a few drinks by the pool. We also loved all the grilling locations around the property.
The view! — If you have a room in the main courtyard there is a great view of the mountain. Every room has a small table and chairs outside the door which made for a perfect place to open a bottle of wine and relax.
The Staff: Everyone at the Stardust was friendly, but Kenny was especially helpful.
The only complaint is that there was no AC in the room. The living room and bedroom both had ceiling fans, and they did provide a floor fan in the bedroom but it did get a little hot at night.

****This is based on a stay I had in June 2012. I am returning to Tahoe (not this lodge though) in a week so this place came to mind.****
Yes it is more smaller with less amenities, but for what it is, it delivered.
ROOM
The two room suite we had was incredible with its brand new renovations. The rooms at this lodge are indeed on the small side, but I must say the renovations done made it all worthwhile. With six of us in our family crammed into the suite it was a challenge nonetheless.
LODGE
The pool was nice and clean, hot tub was perfect, staff was stellar. The lodge managed to organize some family-​friendly activities on certain days, and they even had bikes you could rent to ride around the lake. Oh and that second story deck with the barbecue grills was a nice touch.
LOCATION
Right on the main drag just across from Heavenly and other stores and right before the state line. Everything is within reach on foot, especially the lake.
I definitely recommend, and by now I bet their renovations are complete

Warm and and quaint hotel at a great location. Good price with a sizable living/​kitchen area. A bit outdated but all in all we enjoyed our stay. They have lots of events planned and goodies for visitors.

Stayed in room 111. as soon as I opened the door I felt at home. best vacation rental I’ve rented in tahoe in years for the price. under $ 200 for the night. Saturday rate. Stay here if you like clean comfy places.

DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! The room is so small and you’ll have a nightmare if any of your neighbor coming back late or getting up early.

So me and my boyfriend decided to spend our Christmas at South Lake Tahoe. I found this hotel through
. After reading so many good reviews online, I booked this hotel with no doubt.
The staffs were friendly and accommodating. They are able to answer any questions regarding the activities around that area. When we came into the room and we were surprised about how nice it is! We had a one room suite comes with a kitchenette which is a big plus. Everything looks new and well renovated.
The location is perfect! It’s walking distance to restaurants, casinos and Heavenly.
Everything seems so good and exceeded our expectations until I sleep in the BED!
I felt itchy while sleeping at night. When I woke up the next morning, I wasn’t surprised to discover bug bites on my legs and arms! It is awful! I am not paying $ 200 per night to experience bug bites. The hotel has responsibility to protect guests from bug infestations. We mentioned it to the front desk when checking out. Hopefully they will take care of it! I just wish those bugs won’t come home with me as souvenirs!

I have stayed here every month for years and they don’t seem to care or notice. The one time I bring my family, they have jacked up the prices to almost double what I usually pay. $ 205 a night for a 10 ft x 15 ft room. I feel totally ripped off. As I sit here and look a other hotels online I feel like an ass for giving this place another shot.
Even now I feel the urge to support this family run business but if they can’t recognize a return customer, what’s the point? I tried the 968 Park Hotel twice and the second time the girl that checked me in knew right away that I was a return customer. On the second visit, I received a discount and felt like a valued customer.
I’m going to try and cancel my 3-​night stay and go some place else. Looks like I will save some money too.

Wow. For the price. Wow.
We drove up and at first I was disappointed. It looks like a fairly standard crappy motel.
But look around and you start to notice that there is an activity/​fitness room. Outdoor chairs set up for lounging. A pool (on the small side but nice) and spa. And the sign says free Wi-​Fi. Definitely not your standard motel.
Walk inside the room and you are blown away. Very nicely renovated with high end fixtures. The bathroom is nicer than our newly remodeled master bath at home (and I love my new master bath). Rooms come with a full kitchenette. Stove, microwave, oven, full size refrigerator. We also opted for a suite so the front room contained a queen sized sofa bed. There are beautiful designer touches throughout the suite (like the adjustable overhead reading lights installed in the master bed headboard).
Plus the location is fantastic. Right across the street from Heavenly. And a fairly short walk to the beach on Lake Tahoe. By the way, the motel gives it’s guests free beach access. Otherwise, you will have to pay.
And wait, there’s more. The motel provides free breakfast (donuts, instant oatmeal and fruit but hey the kids loved it), free coffee and popcorn in the lobby, free DVD rentals (movies were recent too!), and even activities. Best of all, there is a SECOND pool and hot tub in the back. And this is a hot tub on steroids. Never seen one quite that big before.
Downsides: Location is a plus if you want to be in the middle of the action. Otherwise, be prepared for some noise. The motel is right off the freeway and a short distance from the casinos. We also had the police come knocking on our door one night. No, it wasn’t us but the people next door. My husband having to answer the door in his underwear. Priceless…
Real downside however is lack of air conditioning and lack of ventilation. Those rooms were hot! Now you know why my husband was sleeping in his skivvies.

We had a wonderful stay here at the Stardust! This place is so cute. we just loved everything about it. We stayed in the deluxe studio which had a great kitchenette and a beautiful bathroom that exceeded our expectations! The murphy bed was surprisingly very comfortable and the smart tv was an awesome bonus! We could just plug our gopro usb right in and watch all of our videos and photos from the day on the slopes! Perfect size room, not too small at all. Dual shower heads in the shower was awesome too. The Jacuzzi was WONDERFUL and the perfect temp.
Location is perfect, right across the street from Heavenly Village & the gondola!

Free popcorn and peanuts available at the rec room.
Activity room has a water cooler.
They have a shelf of books you can borrow.
The front office has a wall full of videos you can borrow to use in your room.
Front office bathroom is nice, big and clean.
Complimentary bicycle rentals to bike around the area. Yup, free!
Coin operated laundry room.
And it was super super cheap!
And it was located so near Heavenly Village. Walking distance!
