Secrets Inn

This is my new favorite place (so far) in South Lake Tahoe.
We stayed in the alpine suite and it was wonderful. The employees were super nice and the housekeepers did and excellent job.
We were on the second floor and even with the windows cracked most all day and night and a fully booked hotel, it wasn’t noisy for us at all.

This place was romantic and rustic. We stayed here 2 nights.
The bed was soft and so comfy. Room was very clean.
Service at check in was nice and informative.
Totally recommend for a romantic getaway and at a great price.

My husband and I went for our Anniversary. We stayed for the weekend and had an amazing time. We live in Reno, so the casino’s were not our main attraction. Although we did go to a comedy show and did a little gambling, we enjoyed staying in and relaxing in the jacuzzi tub. What a wonderful little place. We will definitely return and tell our friends about Secrets Inn.

We loved our room. We asked for the second floor just because of the reviews I read. When we got there the staff was super nice and helpful. The toilet did seem like it came from an elementary school (tiny), but other than that we didn’t hear our neighbors. The spa tub was great and water was hot! Close to gas station and walking distance to Harrah’s and Harvey’s for some gambling. We walked to the private beach which had amazing gorgeous views. This place was amazing, relaxing, beautiful, anf cozy interior setting for the romantics. We will definitely be returning!

We stayed at the Secrets Inn for one night because we found a great groupon deal. Based off of other Unilocal reviews we requested and received a second floor room.
The room was cozy but I would not say it was small. It was intimate which is why you would be staying here in the first place. The fireplace worked great and provided the perfect ambiance.
The jacuzzi tub was great and filled up fast. It was perfect for two people.
If I had a complaint it would be he bathroom mirror, for my wife, was a little too high. She had to stand on her tiptoes to use it.
We received a free bottle of wine but did not open it at the hotel. It was a great to have it just in case.
We will stay here again and would recommend it for couples. Or a person that likes their tubs facing the tv and fireplace. Awesome!
Oh the room did have a DVD player as well. We didn’t use it but if you had a favorite movie you wanted to watch from the tub you could.

My boyfriend and I booked the California Suite for a weekend getaway and it was perfect! There are a lot of cozy places in Tahoe but we fell in love after we saw the bath and fireplace online.
The room was indeed great. They even had flower petals placed on the bed which was so romantic lol. The layout of the room was perfect! The fireplace took place of the heater which I loved! It was really clean and had everything we needed.
The location was great!!! We were close to the Casino, Movie theaters, Heavenly, Shopping and So many delicious restaurants! FYI try BaseCamp Pizza and Heavenly Donuts!!!
Overall it was a Great Experience! The staff over the phone, thru email and in person were always amazing! Very friendly and informative!
My boyfriend and I already made plans to come back annually!

Full disclosure: We did not actually stay here! Keep reading. We’re giving Secrets Inn 5 stars for customer service. We purchased a groupon to stay here for two nights. The night before we were to arrive, we ended up taking our two daughters to the ER. We ourselves also became ill. We contacted Secrets Inn the morning of our stay knowing that we were outside of the cancellation window. They inn graciously provided us with a refund due to our medical emergency. What great service!

Lovely hotel. Tucked away nicely. The room was big clean and cozy. We enjoyed the big beautiful whirlpool. Tv & romantic fireplace and Mirror. The towels were shaped into two swans kisses. Very nice toiletries. Beautiful drapes and comfy bed and couch. Also they loan out DVDs and a complimentary bottle of wine was included. Also had a makeup remover wipe in the bathroom which I thought was a nice touch. The staff was so friendly and offer a vending snack machine and wine & drinks for sale in the lobby. Plan on coming here any time I come through Lake Tahoe. Def worth it

Service was wondeful! We arrived at the hotel a few hours early and the front-​desk clerk checked us in early with no additional cost!
The room was small, but perfect for a couple, especially if you’re not planning on spending the entire time in the room. It was really meant to cater to romance, which made it perfect for Valentine’s Day. Since it was a romance-​themed hotel, I was worried of the noise in the hotel. But the most noise I heard was the water being turned on in the other room. The walls are pretty thick, I was glad.
Heavenly Village is pretty much a 2 – 5 minute walk from the hotel, which really saved us money on parking fees.
After we checked out, we asked the front-​desk clerk if we could keep the car there for the rest of the day, and they allowed us to park in the back of the hotel. Saved us more money on parking.
I originally gave them 5 stars, but I had to edit it when I remembered the state of the bathroom. The toilet was chipping, both the seat and in the bowl. The bathtub was kind of gunky still. It wasn’t very clean, but it wasn’t super gross either. We still used it. There was some type of foil wrapper in the tub that I had to take out. We filled the tub with water and drained it to clean up the dusts and dirt before using it. The room also had a really strong chlorine smell when we first walked in. Other than that, it was a very nice experience.

This motel is nice at first glance but seems to have issues that can’t be repaired! My fiancé and I checked in early evening; we were put in a room on the first floor (I should’ve known this was a bad sign). The television had some issues turning on (after hitting the on/​off button for 5 minutes it turned on), there were stains in the toilet bowl that made me gag, and the noise is unbearable!!! I am currently laying here listening to the people above bathe in the hot tub bath tub. It took them all of 30 minutes getting the bath prepared. Lots of running water, jet sounds and voices (not sure if it’s the radio or a mans loud voice). It’s so bad I can hear the person bathing moving around in the tub (lots of squeaking). It’s now 12:40am and I get to lay here and listen to people bath all hours of the night. DO NOT stay here if you are a light sleeper or want peace… its so loud! I will never stay here again!
Update: it’s now 2:51am and the people above us are still making noise as though they are the only people staying here. Don’t try calling the front desk because they don’t answer! So, if it’s after hours, you will get a recording and that basically means you deal with it or get up and leave like I am!!!

Definitely ask for an upstairs room or you’ll be hearing the pipes running all night long. It’s a great location and the front desk service is very friendly. It’s a cozy, romantic place with a unique shower and a great in– room hot tub with a gas fireplace. The rooms are a bit small with the hot tub taking up a lot of space and there’s no table to eat or really set anything down. It’s a great place to get romantic but don’t think you’re going to do much else in there.

Let me just say that this was a great place for a getaway.

When we got there to check in, the front desk was so nice and helpful. Gave us our room without problem and we got to choose what kind of wine we wanted. The room was perfectly clean (towels folded, bed made, no stains), and the fireplace is amazing!
We had one problem with our hot water handle not working on the sink. We informed the front desk and he called someone right then and there to fix it. We went out to lunch, came back and the handle was fixed! Talk about service. The tub is amazing. I read several complaints about the noise issue. We had an upstairs room and still heard some pipes, but it honestly isnt that loud. (or we are heavy sleepers). its located within walking distance of the casinos and parking wasnt an issue at all.
If there is one negative it would be no microwave or hairdryer in the rooms. But there are so many places to eat it wasnt a huge issue for us. Just remember to pack a blowdryer (:

I have never stayed at an inn before, I usually always stay in upscale hotels but this place is really nice if you book their best room. Though the inn doesn’t look great from the outside, the alpine suite is really nice but only for like a one night trip. We received a free bottle of wine and had a really good time. I recommend this inn for couples looking for a good romantic one night getaway :)

We had another great visit here, this time in the Tahoe Plus Suite. The room was just right, a little more roomy than the regular Tahoe Suite we had before. I knocked off one star only due to being on the bottom floor this time. On the bottom level, you hear every creak and crack of the building/​floor above and the sound of the water flowing from the upstair’s room Jacuzzi when you’re downstairs trying to sleep can be a little annoying. If we had just arrived a little sooner, we would’ve gotten an upstairs room, but such is life. I was really just super grateful to be out of town for the weekend! So I’d recommend when you’re making your reservation, call the desk and specifically request an upstairs room or get there before check-​in time to make this request. We just love this place and will definitely be back

My wife and I tremendously enjoyed staying at Secrets Inn! The guy who greeted us at the check-​in desk was super friendly and offered great advice (including maps and guides) for our trip.
The room was very clean and cozy! I’m not sure where to start… From the warm lighting to the huge jacuzzi tub, the room was great.
(We’ve stayed in multiple places with jacuzzis, and this one wins the prize for filling up quickly! It was full of water in no time.) :)
My only suggestion is to change the wording in regards to private beach access. You essentially receive a parking pass for one of the local beaches in South Lake Tahoe for the duration of your trip. This is a nice feature considering parking ranges from $ 8 to $ 15/​day in most places we came across; however, Lakeview Beach isn’t what I think of when I hear «private beach access». We skipped this option.
If you’re in the Tahoe area, you definitely need to check out Secrets!

We stayed in the Tahoe suit, the room is small but everything we need, it was the most romantic hotel I’ve stayed in and it really set the mood. We enjoyed the tub and walk in shower. The ambiance was amazing and we loved every minute at this hotel. The toiletries were good quality. Plus, free cookies in the lobby! The staff is also so friendly!
Cons: wifi doesn’t reach our room. The room is pretty small. Wine glasses weren’t complimentary and the shower doesn’t drain quickly.

Excellent place to stay in Tahoe! The outside of the hotel doesn’t do this place justice. The room we stayed in was more than what we expected! The heart shaped jacuzzi, spacious living area, and comfy bed were just what we needed for our weekend away.
The beach, village, and casinos are all walking distance which is a plus! The additional bonus is that this place does not allow kids, so you don’t have to wake up to screaming children in the morning.
I recommend this place and will def. come back!

This place takes the cake on the most romantic hotel I’ve ever stayed in. My boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary and now he’s saying we must come back for our honeymoon! The people are so friendly! We asked to upgrade to gfs room with the heart bathtub and we got it! The room was breathtaking! Please ignore all rude inaccurate reviews, I’ve never seen a cleaner hotel in my life and there was not one negativity I could point out. I was shocked at how reasonable the price was and how helpful everyone was. I feel like this amazing experience is just sending my boyfriend and I home more in love than when we got here. Thank you secrets in for this beautiful room and a beautiful trip. We will be back soon! There is no hotel I would recommend more!
Ps THE BED IS AMAZINGLY COMFORTABLE!

I would give this place a solid four stars. it was just what we needed. Granted, the space is a bit tight because of the mini fridge right next to the bed, but the shower was great and the jacuzzi tub is a nice touch as well. What we enjoyed the most was the fire!
It is very close to the shops and heavenly resort where we skiied. We walked everywhere and it was convenient to not have to find parking and the like.
Front office is polite– though they did leave their hotel phone in our room when I asked them to relight the pilot light.
The negative is that you can hear everything! I think someone was staying underneath us and you could hear them turning on their shower and the water running through the building– which was a huge turn-​off.\\
It was clean and everything was in order. I would consider going back!

We needed one night to ourselves to celebrate our engagement! I Unilocaled ahead of time and the photo of the room did it for me. The normal lake Tahoe suite was with a king bed, jacuzzi tub, fireplace, TV and romantic shower!
This was exactly the romantic night we needed. The price was right and the staff Greg and Laura were very knowledgeable and friendly. They recommended walking distance restaurants which we hit.
Came back after a nice supper and made use of the jacuzzi tub right away! Hot water filled that huge tub in a matter of minutes, the water pressure was great! We sat in there for a long time sipping champagne with the fireplace in the background.
The only thing that I noticed later, at 1am, was the walls and ceiling are a little thin. Could hear neighbors upstairs walking around for a bit but then finally everything went quiet. Can’t hold that against this place. No kids, no animals, no smoking, perfect! No breakfast but that wasn’t what we were their for. This place is the best secret around. Thanks for the romantic evening!
