I am getting married in tahoe this October and was calling around to find a wedding cake and after reading that this is a new family business I tried to give it a shot. I called a few times which all ended with what sounded like someone picking up the phone and immediately hanging up on me. Really? Is this how you do business? I can only guess they just didn’t feel like talking or even hearing the phone ring. So strange, maybe they are no longer in business? Wouldn’t count on them for my big day.

(see wedding photo). This is a fairly new family business. Martha and her daughter, Vanessa, are friendly and professional. They came through with my order with only 3 week’s notice. I tasted several varieties, most with fondant, which I am not a fan of. Their carrot cake was very good, but I ultimately chose a white cake, custard filling with strawberries, blueberries and raspberries with butter cream frosting = it was delicious. Enchanted Florist provided the flower arrangement top.

I went here to get a cake for our anniversary(a mini-version of our buttercream frosted wedding cake). The good: they were able to take my order on 24 hours notice, and the cake was absolutely gorgeous and delicious(really, the most important thing). Also, judging from the pics on their site and in the store, it looks like they do some really beautiful work for wedding cakes. The not-so-good: I placed my order in person, and when I called to make one small change, I wasn’t able to reach anyone — just a voice mail with a general mailbox greeting, no mention of the store name, etc. I left a message, but no one ever returned my call, and the change was never made.(I also tried to call back a few times, with the same result).
