Ideal Plumbing

Wow! This company is absolutely terrible! I would give them zero stars if I could. Like other reviews stated, they came out to fix our broken a/​c with a home warranty. After visiting us on 3 different occasions, over the course of nearly 2 weeks, nothing is fixed! The guy they sent out doesn’t seem to know anything about a/​c repair and he left us hanging this entire time in 110 degree weather. The first visit he made to our house, he said that nothing was wrong with the a/​c even though our house was 90 degrees inside. What a joke! We called the home warranty company and switched providers so that we won’t have to deal with the incompetent jerks that run Ideal Plumbing.

The only reason I used Ideal Plumbing a few years ago — twice– is because my Old Republic warranties required it. Ideal is also the #1 reason I cancelled ALL of those Old Republic contracts! They don’t return phone calls. Ideal replaced a water heater in a rental in 2011. It failed to start up a few days ago. They never returned my phone call. Stick with contractors listed on Angie’s List — ones with good reviews.

Do not use this place! Worst company I’ve ever dealt with. Forced to use them by my home warranty company. They sent a guy out to look at my clogged drain, he spent 5 min checking it out and decided I needed a new part. He collected my check and left. Never heard back about a rescheduled appointment to install the part. My warranty company called them to see what was up, they never responded to them. So in short they took my money and never got back in touch with me or the warranty company. So again, don’t ever use them.

2 sinks, 2 drains, 1 water leak under said kitchen sink & the bathroom tub drain…
These are all the areas that Ideal Plumbing and their plumber Pete came out to our Casa to have a look-​see at…
Of course I never would have selected them to do this if I weren’t strong armed into it by the home warranty company: First American Homebuyers Protection Corp and yes I did just enter their name as I felt compelled to after my convo with them which included this sentence:
«The last contractor you dispatched never actually made it as they were beyond terribly neglectful at returning calls let alone the rudeness of the man-​child answering their phone… Plus I Unilocaled this Ideal Plumbing company & the previous company MSE Plumbing who never even made it out to our Casa as I released him from his obligations due to the fact that it took a week to get the first appointment and when that didn’t pan out they expected to push it out another week therefore; released. Now I am requesting another more competent contractor, but I Unilocaled them and they have terrible reviews stating the only reason they used them was due to their home warranty mandate»…
Needless to say that didn’t go over well and so Ideal Plumbing was booked and scheduled for the job.
Result:
The office of Ideal Plumbing called promptly & within a day after receiving the work-​order from the home warranty company. Our issues were not ‘emergency’ so I’m satisfied with this time frame.
The tech called within 30minutes to let us know they were on their way out.
He looked at ALL the areas and fixed the ones needed and so far a week later everything is working as it should.
He also took the time to educate us on the workings of the original 1950’s drain in the tub which is actually working perfectly however the way it drains is due to the design of it back in the era… This I think I appreciated as much as the work done itself as now I can stop cussing it out every night when I drain my bathwater. He didn’t have to go the extra mile to do this. So +1 for good form Plumber Pete.
$ 60 copay for the service using the home warranty & it was worth it as we’ve got to many other fish to fry with this new Casa several have now been scratched off the list from hell…
Would I recommend them?
I’m not sure as I have no idea what their regular non-​home-​warranty rates are nor if they treat their non-​home-​warranty customers differently or not, but I can vouch for the fact that on this lone call they did exactly what needed to be done, did so quickly, efficiently & respectfully & so far the work is holding up perfectly… Rest assured however that should I have a need to update this review in the future I won’t hesitate to do so but for now it stands.
I am satisfied and love the faucets that don’t leak.

first off let me start by saying home warrenties are the worst. this is the second time i have had to use them and a shady technician was sent out to deal with the issue. warrenties are a waste of time and money.
that being said these guys first put us off 7 days due to the laziness and when our appointment finally came they didnt show up until an hour late. now the guy is alll gruff with me and is pretty much throwing a temper tantrum while fixing my sinks pupes which blatently have a hole. he didnt even see it, i had to point out the ½″ hole to him. again, just pay the money and discontinue the warrenty. these companies choose the worst of the worst each time, and these guys lived up to this reputation perfectly.
ZERO STARS

My mom called right before Christmas Week and they made her wait 2 weeks to fix it!!! She had no hot water for the whole holiday and she is 70 years old. They lied to her too. She even had to clean up after them too and charged her more than the warranty coverage which was $ 1,000 (no chump change for a water heater). They would get negative stars if possible. Don’t go there!!! Staff are rude and unprofessional.

Oh geez, where should I start. I too was given this company by my home warranty company. One plumber came out to fix my refridgerator and that seemed okay. The BIG problem is when they came to fix my master bath water leak. The first plumber said it was a bad gasket, well that was not the problem, the second plumber actually figured out that the problem was and stated the first plumber should have seen the problem. The second plumber said he could not fix the problem since he did not have the parts on his truck. He said I would need reschedule a second appointment, sounds simple right, well I called over 30 times and no one answered the phones, and twice when they did answer, they stated that my parts were on order. 6 weeks later, I finally found out from my home warranty company why they were not respnnding to me. They stated that they could not repair my problem due to warranty violations. On top of all that, they took my original parts with them!!!
The warranty did send out a competitent plumber.
Do not use Ideal Plumbing!!!

Ideal Plumbling was sent out by my home warranty company to address an air conditioning issue. They came out twice and the A/​C was not fixed. Four unreturned phone calls to the office and I finally called the home warranty company to assign to another company. Poor customer service and follow through. I’ve suggested my home warranty company not refer to them again.

Liars, unprofessional and borderline extortionists. This company was contracted to do some work for a home warranty issue… a water heater replacement. Based on all of the other bad reviews I don’t feel the need to go into great detail but dealing with this «company» was a horrible experience. They are unspeakably slow with their service; when questioned about a charge they responded «that’s what we are allowed to charge»; they lied numerous times about contacting the warranty company and even my husband. End result, we did the work ourselves for a fraction of the cost and we didn’t have to deal with them or pay them the outrageous prices that they were asking. Win for us!

This company is horrible! They were suppposed to come to my house and never showed up and never called to say that they weren’t coming despite the fact that I made numerous phone calls to find out where they were. The only reason I gave one star is because Unilocal won’t allow you to give no stars.

They sent plumber out to fix a leak in my bathroom on a Friday morning, he cut a hole in the ceiling found the leak in the ABS P-​trap. Said he didn’t have the parts to fix it and the office would call me later to set up a time to come back. (so a plumbing van isn’t stocked with the parts to fix an ABS p-​trap leak??? After numerous attempts to reschedule the home warranty company called them and they finally set something up… we’ll see how the repair goes… but I’m not impressed with this company’s scheduling, lack of basic repair parts (why couldn’t the plumber run to Home Depot and grab a new p-​trap?) and leaving me with a hole in my ceiling and a bathroom I can’t use over a leaky p-trap…now I have lose income on another days work waiting for them come back to fix something that should have been a easy repair… It would also help if the plumber carried ladders on the truck… lucky for me I had one he could use or the job probably would have ended then and there.

I was referred to Ideal Plumbing from my home warranty company. After contacting Ideal to setup an appointment, I was told the first available was 4 days away on a Thursday from 9−12PM. I explained to the contact that I couldn’t use my kitchen and asked for anything sooner, I was told I would be placed on a cancelation list and would receive a call if they could get me in any sooner.
I tried to contact Ideal the next day to inquire about the cancelation list and see if anything had opened up. It’s nearly impossible to reach anyone at this company. They might have some voicemail option but it doesn’t always pickup and mostly the phone just rings and rings. They have one woman who answers the line once in awhile and she doesn’t even try to be accommodating.
To make a long story short, I finally got a hold of Ideal and they advised that a tech phoned in sick and they would not be able to move us up any sooner that the Thur. appointment was the best they could do.
Okay fine, the day finally comes. I phone Ideal to make sure they have the correct contact number to gain access once the tech arrives. No answer, for hours and hours no one is picking up the phone and they have no message option. I get a call around 11:15AM advising that the tech was in an accident and no one would be showing up today. I don’t believe the tech had an accident; just this weird lady that I guess handles the scheduling was making an excuse for not being able to keep my appointment after waiting almost a week.
Well I called the warranty company back and they referred another company that did a fabulous job. Preferred Plumbing and Drain came out the same day and fixed the issue no problem! Kudos Preferred Plumbing and Drain, you made Ideal Plumbing seem like amateurs (which they probably are) and I’m very grateful. Stay away from Ideal Plumbing even if they could get the job done, if you have a problem you will likely never be able to reach them again! Sad you can’t give 0 stars, this company sucks!

This is the worst company ever. I filed a claim through my home warranty company for some plumbing problems and they sent Ideal out to do the work. The guy that came to my house went to the wrong address and instead of calling me, he just left. He finally came back after I called and pleaded with him, but he was not happy about it. When he did show up a seemed to be half asleep and in a cranky mood, which he eventually apologized for.
The plumber evaluated the problem and said he would submit the claim with the insurance company, but never did. I have waited 3 weeks, called the company multiple times, and nothing. So I still have a leaking faucet and nonfunctional refrigerator water line. I have spoken to the manager and multiple employees, but still no one has called in the claim. So now the home warranty company is so fed up with them they are asking me to call another company and go through this whole thing again. I have never been more unsatisfied with a plumber/​company in my life.
Hopefully their actions and my complaints will get them taken off the home warranty list.

PG&E decided I had a gas leak and I called my home warranty company. The poor guy they sent didn’t have the proper equipment and he was too big to fit properly in the crawlspace under the house. The next morning they sent another plumber, who also arrived without the proper equipment to test the air in the walls. He insisted there was no leak, and told the home warranty company the job was completed. The home warranty company sent out plumber number 3 (different company) this afternoon, and he could smell gas as soon as he came in the house.
First guy tried hard, but couldn’t do the job. Second guy was anxious to go home. NOT impressed.

They were dispatched to fix a leak in my sink and bathroom, at my Sacramento property. Didn’t even look at the bathroom.
Took over two weeks to order parts for the sink. Another two weeks for them to get out there. They finally replaced sink fixture, got paid by my insurance company, but leak continued. Now they say the garbage disposal is the cause of the leak and would not fix because they wanted me to file a second claim with insurance company.
I filed a second claim and got the garbage disposal replaced. Surprise, surprise… there was nothing wrong with the garbage disposal.

A little background, we had one plumber come out due to a clog past the wall in our kitchen sink. The first plumber tried to snake and said it was about two feet in, and they would have to remove the sink base cabinet, counter top, and possibly break up my slab foundation (Um, hello, does anyone know what a new kitchen costs these days???). We called our home warranty people who sent out Ideal Plumbing as a second opinion. John was our tech, and using the same sized snake, he was able to break up the clog and get it fixed quickly and without any damage to my kitchen. I am very pleased with Ideal Plumbing, and with John. I will use them again should I encounter anymore plumbing situations I can’t handle on my own.

I was not impressed by this company. The plumber who actually came to my home seemed good, but the office was horrible.
I had an emergency issue and was told a plumber would be at my house as soon as possible and he was finishing up at another job. To me that meant fairly quickly, not about 7 hrs after I called the first time…
The plumber who came to my home didn’t have the tools and parts he needed (understandable) so he had to order some parts and told me an office person would give me a call on Monday morning to schedule a followup. I didn’t get a call Monday morning so called, the office receptionist/​manager told me she couldn’t arrange an followup until the parts came in and had no idea when (opposite of what the plumber told me). I hadn’t heard anything yet so called back Wednesday (my temporary resolution was to stop using my kitchen sink — awfully inconvenient for a week!), the office lady put me on hold and never came back so I eventually hung up after probably 10 mins. I called back on Thursday and was so annoyed asked to speak to the owner and was told he would give me a callback by the end of the day. I never got a callback from the owner on Thursday. Instead the plumber called me on Friday morning and told me he was in front of my house waiting for me!
If you have a customer who contacts you multiple times to try to find out when they can schedule a followup appointment and is so annoyed with the office person they try to complain to the owner don’t just send a plumber without an appointment! Ridiculous!
Also, FYI some plumbing companies do rough patches to drywall if they need to cut into a wall, this company does not… so you may end up needing to work with another company in addition to this one — not so ideal…
