Christine’s Tailoring Alterations

With all the good reviews here, I expected better. I expected a job done right.
Even with a second chance, Christine (and her team?) could not solve a simple problem with the way a zipper was installed (which distorted the profile of the dress).
While trying the dress on, she suddenly reached under the skirt and pulled down my undies!
I think they’re just too busy, don’t listen, don’t even properly pin it! She just stuck a safety pin near where the problem is – I’ve never seen a seamstress take such little care.
And now there’s an open seam, too.
Thanks for wasting almost two weeks of precious time.

Christine was very friendly and did a good job of tailoring my pants. Pretty cost efficient as well. She had the pants ready in less than 2 days time. Very personable lady and I would recommend her services to anyone.

I am very pleased with Kristina’s work. She has done several small jobs for me (slacks, jacket zippers, ‘tops, etc) that were done very well. She just completed a job replacing the fabric on our outdoor patio cushions. Excellent job. Kristinas prices are reasonable and her quality of work is excellent. I highly recommend her.

Christine did an amazing job altering my wedding gown, she took great care in handling and taking in a difficult silk bodice with lots of beading. I really couldn’t be happier with her attention to detail, price and quality of work, not to mention her great customer service and glowing personality!

Christine’s alterations is a place you can trust with your alterations. She is very friendly, timely and has always done an excellent job with my clothes.

I love when Unilocal leads me to a great place, and it certainly did in this case. I came here to have alterations done on my Monique Lhullier wedding dress– and it looks AMAZING. She used the lace of the dress itself to hide the bustle, the length is perfect and she let out the bust a little so that the dress is so flattering and fits perfectly. It was ready in less than a week, and the cost was less than half of what I’d been quoted elsewhere. Also, Christine is SO sweet, as are the two other seamstresses I met briefly. I full heartedly recommend this store for any of your tailoring needs; they do an amazing job!

Christine always does such an amazing job and she’s surprisingly inexpensive. She does beautiful work on gowns and everyday clothing items but I’ve even brought in baby stroller seats that needed straps reinforced and other speciality projects and every time, she has had priceless insight regarding the logistics of what I needed done. For example, she will make suggestions as to which material would work best or which type of stitch will last longer. I recently brought in a pair of drawstring shorts made of an unusual fabric. When I told her what I needed done, she made a few suggestions that would actually protect the fabric and last longer. Honestly, she would have made more money the other way around but she’s just that ethical and cares more about doing a great job than making money. My final cost was a mere $ 10!
She’s also very fast. She can have something ready the next am if you need it fast. Most tailors will tell you «It will be ready Wednesday at 4 pm.» Christine always asks, «When would you like it to be ready?» Amazing.
She’s also a character. She always greets with a smile, and is so easy going and fun. Yesterday, she was going goo goo over a purse I have and we had fun joking about the fact that it is actually a diaper bag. She’s a funny one!
The absolute only con I have… Parking here is atrocious– the spots are TIGHT and far too few for the traffic of all the shops. Honestly, you’re better off parking away from these shops and walking or take advantage of the valet on the far side of the lot.

I took an expensive shirt here for tailoring last week. It was too long and needed to be shortened, I was a bit worried about altering it because the seam was very nice. They did a great job of matching the seam and got the shirt to the perfect length. And all for a very good price. Friendly staff and great service here.

Christine is the tailor for me. She is very sweet, kind and Very professional. She delivers everything on time which matters to me. The first time I had a Cache’ jersey dress and she altered the shoulder area, it was a tough case because I needed the beading on the shoulder to stay in the same line and she delivered what I asked for. After that I took two maxi formal gowns to her and she altered them just like the manufacturer had made them. I’m very happy with the results.

Christine is sweet and talented. Not to mention, VERY reasonable when it comes to charging for services.
I had 4 curtain panels that I had to shorten. Elsewhere I had been quoted $ 35 and $ 15. I happened to swing by since her shop was near me. $ 12! Not bad. Not bad at all and the work she has done is great!

Please go to Chirstine for all of your wedding alterations! I took my bhldn Sian gown to Christine for alterations on a referral from a friend (see Cassie’s review!) and she had it ready to pick up in less than a week. Every measurement and change made was absolutely perfect and there was no need for a second fitting. These alterations were no easy task – because of the detail at the bottom of the gown, she had to take the dress completely apart and shorten it from the waist instead of the hem. I was so incredibly happy with my gown on my wedding day! She also altered two suits for my husband. I plan to continue to go to Christine for all of my alteration needs. Thank you!

2015 update: Have been coming to Christine for over a couple of years now and she’s trusted with nice suits, selvedge jeans and all my good shirts. Excellent work, fair prices and always delivered with a smile. Thanks, Christine :)

Christine is great. I’ve brought her 3 dresses and been happy with the outcome of all 3. She has a very friendly demeanor which is helpful…(not all tailors do). Her shop is located in a strip mall and parking can be a bit challenging but she’s got 2 — 15 minute spots reserved for her clients up front.
Her shop is tiny and a mish mosh of all sorts of clothes from every decade. She’s got a 2 or 3 fitting rooms for you to pop into and a stoop and a mirrored area for her to pin you up.
Turn around time is about 5 – 7 days, but in both cases, she’s been faster for no extra charge.
I dropped a star because she can be a bit steep. My fault for not asking her for a quote before walking away. But once I paid $ 20 for her to shorten the straps of a dress (average). The second time I paid $ 50 to shorten hems on a dress and a jumpsuit. (higher than I’ve paid elsewhere)
I will return, but I will get a quote before I leave.

Christine did a wonderful job on my wedding dress. Had it done before promised and her prices are great. This was a designer gown and she did a flawless job and was a pleasure to do business with.

We needed a few quick alterations on a new suit for prom. Pants needed shortening as well as jacket sleeves. Christine was kind, professional and did exactly what we wanted. We came back in less than a week and the alterations were outstanding. The price was fair. And Christine was an absolute pleasure to work with. Christine is so amazing. I called in the morning and needed the arms of my dress taken in THAT day and not only did she fit me in but it took less than an hour for her to call me and tell me it was ready for pick up! I couldn’t believe how fast it was and the material of my sleeves were a very delicate mesh and it couldn’t have been easy to fix but she did it perfectly I couldn’t believe it.
Aside from the super speedy service (and great cost) she was the sweetest lady ever and kept complimenting how beautiful the dress was and made me feel so excited to be wearing it out that night! I’ve never had anything tailored before and this was definitely a great first experience. Definitely a return customer!

I could’ve sworn I wrote a review already, but after referring a friend tonight I realized I hadn’t. This is well overdue!
Christine altered my wedding gown last summer and I was so impressed by her skill and professionalism. She is patient and very nice. It made me feel more at ease in selecting her when I saw that there were multiple other wedding dresses on her rack to work on.
My dress was NOT an easy job. It was a flange organza and tulle skirt that needed length taken off. Anyone who knows dresses knows that it is not as simple as raising the hem. She spent countless hours toiling over this skirt, removing panels by hand. It took a 2 – 3 fittings to get it just right. My bridal shop quoted me an exorbitant price of nearly $ 600. Christine was much MUCH lower.
So grateful to have stumbled upon her. Highly recommend to ANY bride.

I have been on the hunt for an alteration’s place for long time and was thrilled to meet Christine (thanks to Unilocal reviews)! I’m a bridesmaid in a couple of weddings so we all know that means buying dresses that are never true to size. She did a great job altering my dresses. I found a great vintage Ungaro skirt that I couldn’t pass up at a thrift store but it was slightly too big so I took it to her and she worked her magic. I have been so pleased with everything that I’ve taken to her.
She has been consistent in turning items around quickly. Make sure to be vocal if you’re not happy with anything because she is flexible and will work to make things perfect for her customers.
I can understand why she has a steady stream of people coming in and out whenever I visit. She’s so personable. I highly recommend Christine’s!
