We are Josh and Ali, the super-rad husband and wife behind JayLee Photography. Together, it has been our goal to create a business and brand we believe in, so it’s always a huge compliment when people are interested in our photos and who we are.
To us, taking photos is personal. We love getting to know our clients so we can produce the best possible shots and have a fun time doing it.
We are primarily wedding photographers, but at the end of the day we are just photographers. We love to shoot people doing things. Whether that be a bride’s father crying as she walks down the aisle, a drummer flinging his dreads around onstage, or a family laughing on their couch at home; we shoot moments. More accurately, we capture the moments between moments.
Our style is modern, timeless and fresh. We are not trend-followers. We also won’t deliver dry, boring, pose-y photos. To us, it’s all about capturing the mood of the day and the awesome people in it as honestly and artistically as we can.
We believe you should have a wedding that mirrors who you are as a couple (not what others tell you it should look like). Our team is also highly in support of «offbeat» and «non-traditional» weddings and LGBT couples and marriages. We are, and always have been, an accepting and inclusive business.
We already want to meet you… we already want to hear your story.

Our Story began while going to school for art at Arizona State University. Timing is everything, as they say. We took classes together for years before our timing happened and even then it wasn’t quite right. Josh graduated and was all set to move to Seattle in 5 months… so, we enjoyed a short and sweet summer romance before he left. We didn’t plan to do the long-distance-thing, but it happened, and continued to happen for a year and a half. Finally enough was enough and Ali packed her belongings into her little Kia and followed him to the Pacific Northwest. A few years later, Josh proposed at Freeway Park, and in 2011 we were married at Ray’s Boathouse.
West Seattle is where we feel at home. We enjoy stand up paddle-boarding, going for walks with our Maltese (Rufus), coffee dates, and snuggling up on the couch with some takeout and our shows (Breaking Bad, Mad Men, New Girl).
