I just visited this salon on Sunday, and couldn’t have left happier. I called for a same day appointment, and Susan was just terrific. I left with a fantastic cut, it came out even better than what I’d asked for. I was her last appointment on Sunday evening, and she did not rush at all. For an Aveda Salon, in Santa Monica, the pricing was more than reasonable. Thanks, Susan!

I really enjoy coming to Santa Monica Azure AVEDA Salon. Jennifer always takes good care of me. She is great with Asian hair. I am always happy with color and cut. Jennifer is super talented.

Sydney is a sweetheart. And does amazing work. Front desk staff also super nice and professional. I get so many compliments on my hair now. Thanks Sydney!

I got my haircut and touch up by Al who was highly recommend to me by the receptionist and I must say I had an amAzing experience. She was very professional and didn’t rush my cut regardless of having other appointments. She’s definitely getting my repeated business. Five star to the entire staff for their excellent customer service. Thank you.

Sadly I couldn’t get my birthday gift because corporate didn’t send me the gift certificate (again), but the lady at the counter (Angela) was super helpful and willing to go all out and even call them for me. Will consider coming back and getting services here. It smells great, too.

I have NEVER done a Unilocal review until now, because quite frankly, I’ve never been more annoyed in my life by a service industry.
I have been going to Aveda Salons and using Aveda products for about 6 years and probably had one of the worst cuts and colors I’ve ever had. Although the stylists and employees were very kind, the work was sub-​par at best for how much they charge. I recently moved to L.A. and had been working with my stylist back home to create the perfect natural looking ombré with my light brown hair. Once in the salon, I decided to do partial highlights to feed into this color. In addition to taking 2 inches off of the length when she told me she’d only take off about ½ an inch, I got home and looked like a zebra with white stripes because of the dull ashy blonde that was put in my hair. Additionally, she managed to change my current rich looking ombré to a dull golden blonde with zero dimension.
When I called the next day to get it fixed, the manager was very unhelpful. He agreed to have it fixed free of charge, but changed my appointment time on me after we spoke. When I went back in, I explained what I did not like about the color. I suggested going all brunette like my natural color, but the stylist assured me that she could naturally dye my roots back and gradually fade it into the ombré. It was only after the color was in my hair that she mentioned, it won’t look the same, but ‘very close’ to my original color. When I got home, I noticed that the top of my hair looked like a rich red, while the rest of my hair was an ashy dull blonde. Furthermore, it did not totally cover the highlights which was the entire reason I went back; it only covered the top inch. Now it looks like my hair has three tones, not in a flattering way. Worst and most embarrassing experience I have ever hard. I’ve received much better results for half the price. I will not be giving them my business again.
The only reason I am giving them two stars is because the employees were kind.

This is the first place I think of when I want a haircut. I’ve had two haircuts here and absolutely loved both of them. Not a single complaint. You don’t need to schedule either. If you want to it would probably be better, but I’ve just walked in both times and had no wait! Surprisingly because this place is awesome.

I really enjoy getting my haircut by Sydney. It’s an exclusive, pricy, Beverly Hills type feel for a portion of the price. And FANTASTIC customer service. I’ve been sampling various hair salons and barbershops, but have finally found one place capable of dealing with my uncooperative hair.
The whole experience makes you feel like a million bucks. Not just the haircut, but the quality of service. Also, parking is validated for a small charge. Great place. I’ll be a regular as long as I live in Santa Monica !!!

I made an appointment for a medium cut and style. I arrived early and we started right away. Elle was my stylist and she did an amazing job. I brought a photo of the style I wanted. It was much shorter than my current hair cut. After confirming how short I wanted it, she shampooed and wet cut my hair. She then did dry texturizing and patiently curled my strong-​willed hair. It looked even better than the photo. I’ll definitely be returning. Thank you!

I would like to say that coming here to Aveda has always been so easy and convenient. I am pretty picky and have been to a lot of places. Amanda does such a great job with my color and is very attentive and aware to get all my grays that I cannot stand. She also always gives me suggestions on what I can do to make my hair better. It’s very comfortable with no pressure. Most of all I feel like I can trust her with my hair and that is a huge deal when it comes to my hair. Thank you for everything!!!

I love this salon! All products are amazing! Amanda is wonderful at cutting & coloring my curly hair! Sydney too was great!

I tried in twice and just felt okay. Prices were high. I liked the Aveda color, but the stylists seemed newer and not worth the premium. The location is handy inside the mall and they can generally take walk ins.

So I walked in that day and spoke with one of the stylists saying that I want a lighter ombré look. I said Im not sure if that look would go with my current hair color though besides my natural roots, I said I thought the general color of my hair was too warm. She said «I like that color» I said ok you would know best as long as it looks good. 2 – 3 hrs later after coloring and cutting my hair she looks a bit nervous. The color looks yellow like 2003 bad blonde yellow. And NOT ombré at all. My roots are quite dark and the yellow-​ish orange highlights looked like stark yellow lines on my hair. I tell her it looks like the color of a lion’s mane. And she says «I told you your original color was too warm but you didn’t listen» MY PET PEEVE. I hate when people think I’m retarded or perhaps have memory loss because 2 hrs isnt that long ago. I specifically said I thought my hair was too warm toned and you said you loved it. I honestly was too tired and shocked to have the energy to argue with her. I paid 240. Might as well have put that money in the trash bc I damaged my hair for no reason. Oh and she cut my long hair in a straight line when I had layers.
OH and she has the audacity to tell me to come back to perhaps tone it «bc I didn’t listen to her» and it would cost around 40 bucks. I wouldn’t have been writing this negative review if she didn’t make up a story and had said she would tone it for free.
I would not recommend Lauryn in my personal opinion if you don’t want to basically be insulted and have orange hair.

I have mixed feelings about this place. This is what happened: I booked an appointment a week in advance to spend a pampering day with my friend. They called us half hour before our appointment to say they were running behind and if we could go there 15 mins later. No problem. while we were getting there they called us again to say if we could go half hour later (on top of the 15 mins), so we decided to go and see what was going on. There were only 2 stylists and the receptionist kept saying they were running behind. One of stylist offered to start one of us in 10 mins. Still no problem. While I was waiting «my» stylist didn’t look at me once. after 40 minutes of waiting she finally finished what she was doing and finally addressed me. When I sat down she said she was sorry but things got crazy that morning. When I replied that I booked a week in advance so that my friend and I could have had treatments at the same time, she looked at me kind of annoyed and said: I had a car problem! I was too tired at that point to start an argument and really wanted my conditioning treatment and mini facial (I LOVE Aveda products!).She seemed to have no clue about the treatments and kept asking the other stylist. Anyways I eventually got into the chair to have my hair and facial treatment and she did an ok job (I will let slide that I still had residuals of the peel on my face), and she started blow drying my hair. Half way through she says: Oh the oils of the treatment didn’t come out so your hair is going to be flat. And the tone was like it was all my fault or something! I walked out of there with greasy hair and my face covered in crystals from the peel.
On the other hand my friend had a wonderful experience and her stylist Sydney was amazing. I’m glad she got the good stylist!
Although I will not go back to this salon, I will recommend Sydney as a stylist. She did an amazing job with my friend (she got a haircut and a mini facial)
Unfortunately I did not catch «my «stylist name –she didn’t introduced herself and didn’t say goodbye-​and I don’t know how many stylists this place has. So to be safe only book appointments with Sydney :-)

Worst cut and style I have ever received. Stylist managed to make my hair look thin, limp and dry. Completely outdated look. The green paint on the walls also makes your skin look horrible.
Two stars for the nice people, but really left the salon and immediately put on a hood because of how bad my hair looked.

If you want a fabulous stylist, book an appointment with Ben. It was my first time having him cut and color my hair and I couldn’t be happier. I’m telling you… he knew exactly what I wanted and made a few suggestions which were spot on! He’s very professional and really knows what he’s doing. I would recommend him to anyone. I’m new to CA and was scared to have anyone touch my hair… not anymore! He’s also incredibly friendly and cool. My hair looks better than it has in years. Thanks so much for the awesome cut, color and conversation.

I went in to have my hair dyed all one color after an experience at Fringe left it looking like a retarded ombré that I tried to do myself.
I was put with Ben and I have to tell you that he did a fantastic job at getting my hair to be all one color. He was very thorough in his work and seemed to be genuinely happy that he was helping me look better leaving than I did walking in. He was a total sweetheart and was very upfront about pricing.
Only reason why I subtract a star is because I feel that they are a bit pricy compared to other salons. I paid 200. Plus a 45. tip (he deff deserved it).
They start at around 20.00 higher for full highlights than other salons. Maybe cause they are in the mall?
Anyways, if you do go, ask for Ben. He is a sweetheart and is great at what he does.
Aveda products are the best!

I made a last minute appointment with this salon on my way to LAX to fix a hair dye error that was made a few days earlier. As a budget conscious graduate student I was worried that I wouldn’t get what I needed or be able to afford coloring. Instead, I encountered an amazing team led by my kind, humble, and beautiful stylist Ilsa, who fixed my ‘hot roots’, gave me a hand massage, dry remedied my hair during a wash, did a 2 person team blowout with her manager and a younger stylist, and a lovely layered cut all for less than $ 100. These women were conscientious with my time and budget, helped me feel amazing, and made my day! I live in NH, but will happily wait a year until I travel to CA again to do my hair with the incredible Ilsa.

This salon is an awesome find. I was in search of a new Aveda salon after having moved to the city, and Azure was convenient to get to for me and had competitive pricing.
I used to simply get a haircut every 10 weeks or so, but my stylist moved away. Now, I go to Michael, and he is simply fantastic. You can tell he loves what he does, and he does an amazing job at it. I get a simple cut, but it always looks incredibly healthy when i leave and still looks amazing as it’s growing out. My highlights are even better– he uses two shades of blonde works them in so well with my natural hair color.
I’ve never been happier with my hair, and I would absolutely recommend Michael and Azure Salon!
