Howard Gross, MD

Dr. Gross is a very nice man and an excellent surgeon. After my breast cancer he did bilateral surgery on me and did a very good job. He was going to do the skin cancer on my face, but I had moved and he was considerate enough to suggest that I have the biopsy and cancer removal by the same doctor. He had a very nice manner and was just really pleasant. Having been through Hell, at one point I said, «I used to be cute» (sadly), and he said, «Well, you are still cute…». He did not say this in an unprofessional manner; the guy was not flirting with me; he was just being nice. And it did make me feel better. I have known other women who have had other surgeries with him and have been very happy with their experiences. When I was looking into another surgery, my oncologist recommended him as someone she thought to be a good plastic surgeon. I did not follow through with the surgery, but I would have if I had the finances. He is very good at what he does and has a very attentive, kind, professional way with patients.

Love this man! I had A tummy tuck and augmentation after A gastric bypass surgery. I am currently eight years post op and couldn’t be happier with my results! Dr. Gross is a great listener, incredibly intelligent, tells it like it is and doesn’t make promises that lead to false expectations and that is what makes him an amazing surgeon! His staff is incredibly amazing and when it’s time to go back and redo, he will always be first on my list!

Dr. Gross is the best. From my very first consult to my post op appointments I always felt very confident and happy. He answered questions I didn’t even know that I had. Jennifer is wonderful! She made sure that every step of the way was comfortable and that I understood everything. Dr. Gross’a time line for my pain and when I would be walking tall again was to a tee. I couldn’t be happier with my tummy tuck, hernia repair and lipo! I was nervous to do this but now thanks to Dr. Gross and his office I am so much more confident in myself and so so happy with the results.

They don’t come any better than this. I broke my noise today playing noon time basketball after taking a hard elbow to the face causing bleeding and displacement of the nose. I contacted Dr. Gross’s office via phone and was told he would see me as soon as I came in. The office staff was very polite and professional and within minutes Dr. Gross reviewed my condition and carefully reset my nose and had me out the door within the hour. I received a follow phone call that afternoon from Dr. Gross to check on my condition and go over his instructions that I received in the office. I have been living in Santa Barbara for over 23 years and never was treated so well by a medical professional. Dr. Gross is amazing! I always wanted and needed a breast reduction, but was always reluctant and afraid to go through with the procedure. Dr. Gross answered all of my questions and made me feel safe and confident about getting a breast reduction. He went over every single detail and immediately put my mind at ease. The rest of the staff is also amazing and so kind! They were also eager to answer any questions or concerns I had. After 3 years of contemplating a reduction, I finally had my procedure on December 19^th, 2014.
I am now almost two months post-​op, and I love the results. I feel more comfortable with my smaller cup size, and my back no longer hurts. Dr. Gross and his team are always there to help me, and I never hesitate to call if I have any questions.

Dr Gross is now my most favorite person in the world. I am two weeks post-​breast reduction with liposuction (bye bye dreaded side boob). He did an excellent job; even my reluctant and doubtful husband («Why would you want smaller breasts?»), is thrilled with the results. Dr gross is awesome! I had a breast augmentation done n I love everything about em. Healing was easy, and the staff is awesome if your like me n like to bug with a million questions hehe. I would highly recommend dr. Gross to anyone. He listens and gave me exactly what I wanted≠)

Dr Gross is the best! He did work on me and several of my friends and the results are amazing. I would recommend him highly to anyone! He is very talented. My husband just had a rather large lipoma removed and it took longer than expected. The next day it looked like nothing was done. Quite impressive.

Dr. Gross performed surgery on me in 2012. I am so happy that I finally made the decision to move forward and schedule the procedures. I had a tummy tuck and liposuction. I have always had strong arms and muscular legs, but my stomach has been a problem area for as long as I could remember. To this day I am amazed when I look at myself sideways in the mirror! Aside from the fantastic results that improved the quality of my life, there are more reasons why Dr. Gross was the best surgeon for the job. 1. He spent a great deal of time with me during the consultation and was happy to answer all of my questions about what the procedure entailed and what the end result would be. 2. He accurately explained what to expect on the day of the surgery 3. He explained exactly what the recovery process would be like and how long it would take until I felt totally recovered. It was extremely important to me that I had realistic expectations in terms of the recovery because I had plans to go to Europe and didnt want to be sore or uncomfortable. I was totally prepared for all aspects of the procedures and recovery. He completely nailed it! The pain was less than I expected, I felt amazing on my European trip, and my scar looks fantastic. Prior to being put to sleep, he noticed a bad scar I had from a previous surgery (not plastic surgery) and asked if I would like him to fix it. I wasn’t sure what he could do to improve it, but I said, sure, go for it! I woke up with a few stitches in that area, and when it healed, I was flabbergasted at how beautifully done it was. It was barely noticeable at all! If you want your procedure to be done by a magnificent artist, Dr. Gross is TREMENDOUS. Oh, one last thing, I was afraid if my belly button looking weird since mine was really ugly and had an ugly scar from a piercing — Dr. Gross fixed my belly button and you would never know how messed up it used to be!

I saw Dr. Gross 11 years ago for an otoplasty and I am still so happy with the results. Now, I see Dr. Gross for monthly photofacials and laser hair removal and could not be happier. Dr. Gross is extremely knowledgeable and always makes me feel comfortable, and his amazing staff are just as caring and friendly. Many of my friends and family members have visited Dr. Gross and are equally as happy. To top it off, the new Surgical Arts building is absolutely gorgeous. I recommend Dr. Gross in a heart beat!

I recently had a «Mommy Makeover» which included a Breast Lift and Tummy Tuck, something I have wanted to do for close to 15 years. I consulted with 5 plastic surgeons prior to deciding on Dr. Gross. Dr. Gross was very detailed with his explanation of exactly what he would be doing and what I could expect. He has an ease to him that made me feel comfortable from the minute he walked into the room for my consultation. He eased every fear that I had and although I was terrified of having the procedure, I don’t think I could have been in BETTER hands. Dr. Gross was amazing, his nurse kept me calm & comfortable while preparing for the procedure and the anesthesiologist spent close to an hour answering all my «nervous» questions right beforehand. Dr. Gross did an amazing job and I could not be happier with the results. And in addition to doing such an amazing job, he has been kind, considerate and very helpful with all followup appointments and my countless telephone calls to him post procedure. I saw Dr. Gross for a breast reduction. Immediately, I knew he was the right surgeon. He was very careful in his measurements, post care and answering questions I didn’t even even know I had. His anesthesiologist was also very sensitive, knowledgable. The surgery was less than a week ago and I felt great the next day. The healing is much smoother and easier. I am so glad I did this.
