Dr. Wilson’s quality of work is phenomenal. He uses an advanced microscope, which requires additional training for dentists and non-​standard expensive equipment, so dentists that use it are extremely rare. Microscopes are now standard of practice for endodontists, so he is ahead of the curve in dental care. It makes sense to me that being able to see 20 – 30 times better into the crevices of my teeth allows Dr. Wilson to perform work that is that much better fitting and precise. His practice offers video and nitrous oxide — which makes any time in the chair so much more comfortable. He and his staff are gentle and very attentive to patient comfort.
My family & I have moved many times. Over the years, I have occasionally found another dental office I trust to do cleanings, but I always come here if I need work. His work is such high quality that several other dentists have asked where I had the work done and what lab he uses. I am very against unnecessarily drilling into my teeth so I appreciate that Dr. Wilson is very ethical and does not believe in pushing unnecessary work. Another dentist told my husband he needed several fillings and a crown; we were skeptical. Dr. Wilson said it is not uncommon for other dentists to recommend «replacing old fillings» or additional work because dentistry is a tough business. It turned out my husband only needed a couple of sealants replaced, and not even remotely a crown.
The staff are amazing and they are great with children. My toddlers LOVE Betsy, the long time hygienist. She is so friendly and warm.
If you’re not sure about needing certain dental procedures, I think Dr. Wilson offers a second opinion. For my family the second opinion saved lots of money and more importantly: my husband’s teeth were not compromised by unnecessary dental work. If you live in San Juan Capistrano or anywhere nearby, count yourself fortunate to have access to a dentist of this caliber.

After spending one year in Dr. Wilson’s office and having one extraction done by him I cannot recommend this dentist for anyone. Not only did my extraction not go well but because I chose to have the kind of crowns done that he did not do, he terminated me and my husband as his patients; and he advised me of this in the middle of my hygiene appointment, telling me that hygiene services are available only to his patients. Now I am wondering why he even accepted me as a patient since I came to him with dental work in my mouth that was done by other dentists. My advice is to be very leery of Dr. Charles Wilson; he is opinionated and does not consider the needs and wishes of his patients.

I drove all the way from Long Beach because my Aunt told me to see Dr. Wilson. I had anxiety about seeing a dentist after one bad experience with a different dentist in Long Beach. My Aunt said that Dr. Wilson has the latest equipment and is very sensitive to helping patients with anxiety. She was 100% right… Dr. Wilson and his staff are the best! The first visit was mainly diagnostic to determine what procedures I will need. I will be going back in a few weeks to have a few dental issues taken care of. Believe it or not, I’m actually looking forward to going back to Dr. Wilson and getting my dental health back on track. Dr. Wilson and his staff are wonderful! Highly Recommended!

Pro — the best DDS client I have in 3 county, the only one I would trust to work on my teeth. Microscope operations with detailed picture shots of the process. Cozy office and friendly staff.
Con — Dr. Wilson could be a little bit overly cautious on hurting his patient (trust me, i can’t feel a thing)
So his office isn’t as fancy as the younger up and coming DDS’s places — it’s missing the tv in the waiting room, the newer 360 x rays, or the ceiling entertainment, but you get the blanket of knowing Dr. Wilson knows what he is doing. There is nothing more nerve wrecking than some young DDS making quick decisions without going over files, it’s either the lack of experience or simply treating patient like cattle in their office.
