Nor-Cal Overhead

This company was awesome. Came out and fixed our broken garage door the same day. Our original garage door was installed by them in 1996 and its lasted this long. Needed a spring replaced and we were good to go. The girl who answered the phone was very friendly and got someone out within an hour as we couldn’t shut our garage door. Great job guys !

Poor after sale service. Had problems with opener they installed. Set up service appointment and after appointed time called them they said repair team was running late and would have to schedule me for next week. I told lady that was poor after service response. She had me talk with Bill. Who was rude and unaccommodating. Maybe if enough dissatisfied customer voice their opinion he might have to think about his customer service policy. I am still am going to have him come fix his mistake. But will NOT recommend his service to friends.

I highly recommend Nor-​call Overhead for home garage doors. I wish all business were run with this high level of service.
Here’s the reason why I would recommend this company.
We had the unfortunate luck of a broken home garage door after-​hours (6:35pm to be exact), I called a few places but nobody would come out til the next day or care to answer the phone at all.
Then I found Nor-​Cal Overhead on Unilocal,Bill answered and said he would be out in 30 – 45 mins to help and he arrived as promised.
Thanks for his grateful help, I was able to close the door for that night with a work around.
He pointed out the issues with the door and the cost involved fixing it compared to buying a replacement.
After weighing the options, we decided to replace the door with him. The price was very reasonable to the big box stores but he was able to source the door almost immediately (2 days) and have it replaced the same week.
Now that’s super Awesome service.
Bill was extremely patient, detailed in explaining everything in great detailed to my wife and me (while I was driving on the phone on blue-​tooth).
I can’t say enough good words to thank him and his staff for the excellent service.

Friendly employees starting with the scheduling lady to the installers. Unfortunately, the installers wanted to charge me extra for a second remote. Additionally, after doing research online, I discovered that I could have had the same opener installed for half the price (with 2 remotes and an outside code box). So that part is disappointing.

I worked with Stephanie on a new install of two high-​end garage doors. She worked very hard to find the right doors for me, to provide a competitive price, and to send the best guys to install the doors. During the process, she kept me informed every step of the way — I got the best doors, the best prices, the latest technology and the best service! Keep up the good work.

The chain on my garage door fell off. I was able to get a same day appointment. Spoke to a nice girl who also gave me an immediate $ 20 off coupon to go towards the service fee. The men arrived early. Will explained what needed to be fixed. He also made a non-​pushy, non-​sales pitch as to what else could and should be done as my garage has not been maintained or serviced in 10 years. He gave me 3 options: do nothing, do something that was less expensive, or do something more complete and more expensive. I will definitely use them again.

We called last night, they were here first thing this am. Wonderful experience! They were very nice, professional and knowledgable!!! Highly recommend!

We had a great experience with NorCal Overhead. Our garage door at the house quit working and I called several services. I spoke with Bill at Nor-​Cal Overhead and within an hour he was at my front door. I was fearing a huge bill or an entire garage door opener replacement. He was more than happy to answer my questions and gave me numerous options. In the end the fix was a relatively easy one for him and my door runs like it’s brand new. More importantly, my bill was was a mere fraction of what I thought it might be. If you ever have a need for an overhead door service, call these guys. No headaches. You’ll be glad you did.

Wanted to make sure I write a review for these guys as their work is unbeatable. I shopped around for a new garage door for several weeks. After about 10 quotes, I found Nor-​Cal overhead and gave them a call. By this time, my garage door had almost split in half and was inoperable. Spoke with Bill on Thursday at about 3 pm and he had 2 guys at my house the next day to give me a quote. Without having to bargain or ask about pricing, these guys came in with a quote that was 300 dollars cheaper than the lowest quote I had received. I paid them for the door and it was installed 5 days later, just as scheduled. The door looks amazing and we couldn’t be happier. The techs that did the install are top notch and could not have done any better of a job. I would highly recommend Nor-​Cal Overhead to anyone who needs a garage door.

My son backed up a golf cart into a friends garage door. Called Nor-​Cal for an emergency repair. Bill was out in 30 minutes, fixed the door, made some extra adjustments that made the door operate better than before! :) Excellent service and craftsmenship. I highly recommend them.

The owner Bill is very rude. Please spend your money elsewhere.

I had a difficult home garage door application that no one wanted to touch. I talked to Bill at Nor-​Cal (I assume the same «Bill» that was trashed in another review): he was professional, followed up, answered calls, responded to questions, and was great. The door was installed as promised. When there was a slight problem with the parts as sent from the manufacturer, they came back in one day and fixed it. Moreover, everyone I met from Nor-​Cal were «good guys»; I.e. Professional, competent, honest, and easy to work with. This is a good organization.

What a wonderful experience! Bill and all his employees were soooo helpful. Our situation in choosing doors took a few months, but they were so patient and never pushed us to chose a door! The guys they had install them were very friendly and more than happy to take the time to explain and show us all the features of our new doors and openers. Unfortunately 3 of the panels arrived with some damage and defects. They got right on it and got replacement doors ASAP at no additional charge to us. The openers they installed are so quiet that even standing out side the garage you can’t even hear them. As well they function fabulously, and our doors are so beautiful and of such high quality we now have the best looking house on the block! They even match our front door and gate. When I pull in from work at the end of the day I sometimes just sit in the street and look at my house and think dam those doors just make it!!! Thank you Bill and your entire staff for such an amazing experience! If I ever need a garage door opener or garage door again I know where I’m going no questions asked!!! Once again thank you.

The owner Bill helped up pick out our doors, and communicated every step of the process, coming in over a $ 1000 cheaper than any other company. Our doors were in on time and everything looked perfect as promised, they hauled away our old doors and even programmed our cars to the door openers!!! Our home looks so beautiful now and is the gem of the neighborhood! Their professionalism was also equally impressive, Thank You Nor-​Cal Overhead!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They installed my new garage door and then two years later the spring broke. The gentleman that came over said that the motor installed was a model that was more than 8 years old although I had paid for a newer version. The motor and the spring was not compatible. I paid full price for the repairs and a compatible spring because the warranty had expired, which was fine by me. Now a year and two months later the rollers are broken and they are telling me that warranty does not cover work on the weekends, my door cannot close and broken pieces are on the ground. The last repair included replacing some of the rollers. AGAIN DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY !!!

From the first phone contact for service to the final wave goodbye to the service technicians Steve and Joe, I am impressed by the efforts made by Nor-​Cal Overhead to get our garage door mechanism repaired. Quick timely service appointment. Service tech called with arrival time. Steve and Joe identified and repaired additional problems that surely would have caused future breaks if left unchanged. The garage door was so heavy it could not be opened to remove the cars, so they had to work in very little space to change out broken equipment without damage to either car!

Call them at 9:00am cause one of the torsion springs on my garage door broke and they told me about a really good special going on so I asked when they could be out (thinking that it wouldn’t be this the next day) he told me they would have someone out in 2 hours. At around 10:30 am they had some one here and it took the maybe 15 mins to replace the springs. The guy was very professional and well dressed. Before 11:00 am he had fixed the door and finished all the paperwork and was on his way. Parts came with 1 year warranty. Would totally recommend these people to anyone. Anytime my garage door breaks I know who to call.

Had an emergency with the wheel coming of of the track of the garage. Spoke to Bill, and yes, I was in a panic. I was also in the middle of an online meeting. When he said he would be at my home at around 2:00, I answered with «whatever». Immediately, Bill started to tell me off and said that he was not going to show up at all today an would put me on the schedule for Monday. He kept going at me and would not stop. Calling me names and making accusations about what I meant when I said «whatever.» NOT THE WAY TO DO BUSINESS!
I found another company that came over and fixed it much less than the $ 89.00 sevice call fee that I was quoted.

BF called them at 6 a.m., they were out at 9 a.m. the same day (on New Year’s weekend no less!), and didn’t charge for weekend response! He said his garage door is running even smoother than before and the price was reasonable too.
