Swift Restoration

Called them and my particular problem was not something he helps with but he talked to me over the phone for 10 minutes and gave me a lot of great information for self help. When I have a problem they actually specialize in they will be my first call.

Just bought an older house which had some old nasty wallpaper with mold growing behind one wall. I wanted to make sure it wasn’t anything serious and the mold seemed to have gotten exposed to the insulation behind the drywall. I contacted Swift and Ido responded to me in literally 5 minutes. He gave me a run down of his availability which wasn’t for a few days due to him being such a busy man (I can see why!). But he continuously offered to stop by if the earlier projects he was working on was finished. He was willing to drive from a site in SF to our Oakland home just to give a quick consultation on what he thought we should do. In the end, he advised us to just simply take the Sheetrock down on a 10’x8’ and replace insulation. I will probably do this myself after I check if there is asbestos in the insulation. All in all, Ido told me I could save money by just fixing the wall instead of a whole remediation process. I would highly recommend these guys if you have a more serious mold problem than I do since based on their responsiveness, they would definitely take care of you.

The guys at Swift were great. They jumped on our small mold project right away. Good communication, clear pricing and agreements. The job took exactly how long they told us it would be. They even diagnosed our water leak problem and saved us from a bigger bill with a plumber. Recommend highly.

Ido is very responsive! Usually when you need to call him it’s because of something urgent so the quick response is appreciated.
I ended up not needing his services because it was an interior plumbing leak but he would be the first person if I have other water intrusion issues.

The short version: I cannot say enough good things about Michael, his team, and my experience with Swift Restoration! Given the nature of when you’d need a crew like this to come into your home, you’re already in a pretty vulnerable place – this team truly made me feel like everything was going to be OK, and the work they did made absolutely sure that I will be! If you’re in the same place that I was, dealing with a water/​structural disaster in your home and wondering which of these services to use, just stop looking now and give them a buzz. You will be so glad that you did.
Now, if you want the TL;DR version:
The toilet line in the apartment above mine leaked into my ceiling, and eventually into my walls, culminating in it all coming down all over my carpet, sofa, etc.
Michael came out within 15 minutes (!!) of my contacting someone at Swift to do an assessment. He was incredibly respectful, professional, transparent, and detailed about how he was doing his assessment and the potential work that would need to be done. I think that’s worth stating because this isn’t always how women are treated in professional-​service scenarios. He provided an estimate within 12 hours (emailed to me directly); the estimate was extremely reasonable and incredibly detailed. The best part was, they could also start the next morning — the day before Thanksgiving.
When the crew arrived, they were all as respectful and thoughtful as Michael had been. I had told him that I was planning to haul my sofa and coffee table to the dumps later that day, and asked if they could help me move it out to the driveway in the meantime. They did that – and then Michael offered to have his crew haul it, since they had extra room and they would be going there anyway – no extra charge. That was one of the many examples during my experience working with Swift that was maybe a «little» thing, but it goes a long way when you’re already dealing with such a rotten situation in your own home. The crew worked super quickly and cleanly, and were as undisruptive as a crew of people tearing up ceilings and floorboards could possibly be :)
The machines ran for three days inside of the dust tent that they built, and just before they were scheduled to be removed, I found that the leak from the ceiling that caused the whole mess was still happening! Michael arrived at the same time as my landlord (who I had informed) and the upstairs tenant (whose toilet was causing the problems) – but before the plumber. He immediately offered to leave one of the fans with me until the plumber could come, since there was bound to be a bit more leaking before they could fix it. And just because Michael couldn’t be any more awesome, he very sternly but respectfully educated both my landlord *and* the upstairs tenant about exactly what needed to be done, and why, and that they needed to do it as quickly as possible (communicating the impact and seriousness of this situation to my landlord had been a struggle, and Michael was aware of this). The message got through, thanks to him!
Swift’s incredible service assured my home will be clean and safe to live in; I only wish they also did *installation* of carpeting, sheetrock, and plumbing as well! :)

Miki was prompt, and setup the dehumidifier quickly and professionally in our rental unit. He minimized the inconvenience to the tenants and gave excellent advice on mold mitigation.
We’ll call them again, though they did such a good job, we probably won’t have to!

Michael came by and took a look at the issue. We concluded what I thought was mold to be possibly a dead rat In the walls! He also gave me advice to help seal the smell when my handyman comes later today plus a deodorizer spray in the meantime.
He was super nice and professional and I recommend him!!!

Ido was great. His bid was the lowest of the four I got, he was very responsive over email and text, and completed the work on time and on budget. Left the work area and the surrounding area tidy and clean. Pleasant and calm in person, too.

I had a leak underneath my apartment building and it turned into grey water so you can imagine how bad the smell was. The people living in the apartment were having to smell this trash smell throughout the whole day. I had some other restoration companies come out to give bids but they were all too high and they exaggerated most of what they were saying to jack the prices sky high.
I had read on Unilocal how great these guys were so, I decided to give them a shot. I called and spoke to Michael and he was fast to save the day. Michael and Ido showed and took care of the job within 30 minutes. They cleaned up the grey water. They also put some odor absorbent down and the apartment no longer had the smell. That saved me and my tenants from lots of frustration and money literally flushed down the toilet. These guys even left extra bags so that if we had any future problems, I could put this odor absorbent stuff down to take care of the immediate problem. These guys are trustworthy and very knowledgeable. They deserve every star that they get. I can not thank them enough for what they have done for me.

We just bought a new home and discovered mold in a couple of closets. We never saw this in the walkthrough and it wasn’t found in the inspection. We were a little freaked out and concerned that there might be a bigger issue. We called Swift and Ido came to the house to do an inspection.
Ido arrived early and in about 15 minutes inspected the areas.
He told us it was a pretty common mold and didn’t represent any health risk. He gave us some directions for cleaning and treating the mold and indicated that it didn’t require removal.
I was really impressed by Ido’s integrity. We would have spent money to have it removed and he could have easily convinced me to have the drywall removed, but he didn’t.
My hat’s off to Ido and Swift Restoration, they saved us a lot of headaches and money.

Ido is a stand up guy — checked out my situation, gave me his take and offered recommendations for further help.
Sure he may not have been able to return my first call in half an hour as others have mentioned but it was well worth the wait to deal with a decent human being.

FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!!! Called twice, no pick up. Waited a few hours, called again, no pick up. Guy called back, told him I had a flood in my house that affected two bedrooms and hallway and he said they’re booked till next week. Don’t advertise to come out in 30 mins if you can’t take on customers!!!

I wrote a review earlier but for some reason it didn’t post. Anyway I just wanted to write that in my opinion and our experience, Swift Restoration is an A1 Excellent company to work with! Completely professional, easy to work with, thorough, and extremely knowledgeable!
We had a sink leak into the downstairs unit and collapse the cieling. Ido replied immediately to my 1am message and was there in the morning exactly when he said he would be. His work was impeccable and his explanations always clear. The peice was very competitive but I am mainly concerned with the job being done right. They covered everything, even helping move items out of the kitchen and removed all the wet damaged materials and dried everything bone dry.
I consider Ido and Swift Restoration my permanent go to for if I ever have water damage again. I heartily recommend this business!!!

This is a review of our ongoing experience with Ido and his Team.
Our house is very old. Like 100 years or so. We’re very happy with it except for some pesky odors around the back of the house. Ido has been very helpful in all the advice and referrals he’s given us. Slowly be steadily, things are improving. More soon.

These guys are just GREAT.
Water damage accrued at my family’s house in San Francisco, I was there at the time. A broken pipe resulted a severe leak that became a major water damage in the kitchen and the living room.
We called the Swift guys, they arrived shortly after. They had to do a lot of water extraction in the living room area and were able to dry the wet carpet and wet walls in less than two days! They’ve used fans and large dehumidifiers.
They were really kind and polite and felt like they knew exactly what they were doing. I really hope that’s the last time I have to see them lol, but if you need someone serious and well priced that does the work well — don’t hesitate to contact them.

Hands down the best mold remediation service you’ll find in the Bay Area. Not only was Ido incredibly thorough, efficient, and professional, he was also honest! And, let’s be honest, honesty can be hard to come by these days. If you’re looking to get mold remediation done right the FIRST time, and at a realistic price, look no further! We’d hire Ido again in a heartbeat, though, here’s hoping we never need to :)
