Moulin Pooch

The man who runs this is an absolute sweetheart, and was able to pick out a treat that my picky eater loved. Will definitely be back. I also noticed that the space was very clean, and had a really nice energy to it. Seems like a wonderful place for boarding and grooming.

Well, I brought my little long haired chihuahua in for a few hours of Doggie daycare. It is nice to have this option on the package that I bought, because it allows me to place Taz with someone who loves dogs while at the same time giving him a chance to play with other doggies. It’s very convenient to also have this option when I need to get around and take care of personal business. This way I don’t always have in the back of my mind «is Taz ok» etc. if you’re busy, or want to give your dog a chance to play with others I recommend Moulin Pooch, they are in a convenient location and the place is ultra clean and their prices are very competitive.

I’m only writing for the grooming service. While they groomer is not that as often as I would like, when she is she is really fast and does a great job. I just have a short haired dachshund so he doesn’t require much maintenance, but he always leaves looking quite happy and smelling nice.

I used to make fun of people who spoil their dogs by getting them doggie birthday cakes, cupcakes, throwing them parties, etc. I still sorta make fun of the people who create their own FACEBOOK and instagram profiles for their dogs but I kind of get it now. KIND OF.
I spoil my boyfriend’s 9 year old puggle. Don’t get it twisted, I am a tiger mom though. I have taught this old dog new tricks! Who says it can’t be done?!
I like rewarding him. Small treats here are great but he particularly LOVES the smoked marrow bones here. Nice little selection.
The shop mostly carries things for smaller dogs so it’s hard to come across silly costumes for a 30lb puggle but the nice staff and the treat selection makes up for it. I still like browsing whenever I’m around in the marina.

This store is incredibly cute and has friendly employees to match. If you are looking for a unique doggy gift or that special holiday outfit, it’s worth stopping in to check out the selection. Like most shops, they specialize in items for smaller dogs, but they have something for all shapes and sizes. After all, who doesn’t love a pretty doggy treat?

I heard about Moulin Pooch from a good friend of mine. They are as good as it gets! Customer service and the pet care department deserve 10 stars! Not only do they do a great job they are also super affordable!!! I will definitely continue to use their services!

So I took my fur baby here for a bath and groom. The girl I spoke with was the sweetest thing ever! Lolana, I think that was her name. Anyway, she made my baby feel like a princess that day! I love the hospitality and the wonderful feel of this place. The owner was a little lukewarm but the girl made up for it. Cute and charming place! Good variety of boutique stuff.
Grooming: I liked the cut in general but would have liked it more rounded out. My baby girl had a few cuts/​burns and I later found out her nail was bleeding. All her cuts and burns didn’t fully heal until about a week and a half after the grooming. I probably won’t be coming back for a long while or until I forget how much it hurt my fur baby.
5 stars bc of the great customer service but 2 stars for the actual grooming itself; so overall I’ll be kind and rate it 4 stars.

Wandered into this store during the Union St Festival. There’s a cute little fence half-​door where you have to open the latch to get in. I only say this because a friend of mine tried to go after I had already left the shop and «couldn’t get in.» She apparently didn’t see the latch. –_​-​|| Fairly open area (selections seemed a bit sparse). They have doggie accessories in the front of the shop, fresh doggie treats in a display case, and in the back is where they offer all their services (grooming, teeth cleaning, daycare and boarding). Not many treats available compared to Le Marcel Bakery but I think it’s because they concentrate more on their services (which they have a lot of). The single employee greeted us when we walked around but didn’t pressure us as we looked around. Nice little boutique.

I’m not sure if it was because I arrived near closing time but there was a somewhat limited arrangement of baked goods in their cases. The person working there was very friendly and accommodating and the store is very nice overall but I was just a little disappointed with the selection that I saw at the time that I went in (at least in comparison to elsewhere in SF).

The shop is a lot smaller than I expected! There’s not much to shop around/​look at. The little bakery window is pretty cute though and if I hadn’t just bought doggy treats at Le Marcel Bakery, then I would’ve bought some at Moulin Pooch. I would probably only return for the treats, nothing else.

Cute pooch boutique. wonderful staff… fun community of customers. We have been going to Yappy Hour (First Friday of every month) — drinkies & snacks for the humans and doggies — for over a year! They have a storefront with dog food, dog treats, dog clothes and accessories and even doggy bakery. But they also have Doggy Groomng, Daycare, and Boarding. Definitely convenient for Cow Hollow residents.

They had a decent selection of attire for dogs. Unfortunately they did not have what I was looking for. They did have some nice things, but it seems they do not really cater to the teacup puppy.

Moulin Pooch has great doggy daycare for small dogs. My puppy loves this place. She’s always excited and happy to come here, which isn’t always the case. I’ve seen her shake and not like other places.
The owners and staff are super friendly, and it’s very obvious they love dogs. They know all the dogs by name and temperament. What I also like is they take the dogs for a walk once or twice a day (and only a couple at a time), and it’s included in the price.
The only downside is Moulin Pouch is a bit expensive so it adds up pretty quick. This is understandable seeing the high cost of rent in the city. If they had less costly bundled packages, I would take my puppy here even more often.

I was running late for a yoga class (I know, «first world problems») and I needed a few more minutes on my meter. I only had 10 pennies and ducked into the nearest shop (Moulin Pooch) to ask the owner (or the man I believed to be the owner) for a dime for my 10 pennies, but instead he gave me a quarter. I know that this might not seem noteworthy, but I didn’t buy anything in the shop and was just dashing in. Most owners would have just told me to go somewhere else, but he was happy to help me. I thought this deserved a mention!
While in the store (briefly) I looked around and it was such a cute little shop! I will go back if I ever need something for a dog.

I took my 70lbs mutt here for a basic bath. When I returned, they arbitrarily billed me for services rendered to a dog over 100lbs. When I asked them how they assigned this weight and hence the cost, they told me that the person sitting behind the counter picked my dog up and weighed him on a scale that is equivalent to one you would find in your bathroom. For a dog with joint pains, this can be pretty painful. I am saddened that this happened to him and will definitely not take him there again. There are special scales for big dogs… If you are specializing in small dogs, please just turn away customers with large dogs if they cannot be professionally handled. This was what stung most, not the incorrect billing.

I live in the south bay and needed to find a daycare for Maverick the following day because I had to spend all day in the city. I spoke with Rosadia (sp?) over the phone and she bent over backwards to accommodate my schedule on such short notice while other daycares in the area would not. Went in early the next morning, showed them Maverick’s shot records, he passed the «interview» process, I filled out a simple form for first-​timers, and Maverick was in.
The store interior was clean & nicely decorated and Maverick was tired out by the time I picked him up. I will definitely bring my dog here the next time I am in San Francisco.

Hiroki has been here since the business started. I know both owners personally. They love dogs and treat them like they’re family. They care for them with much love.
They are best known as daycare providers, but have added the grooming part as their business. They are serious about who comes in to their store and really do have good customer service.
Despite what other reviewers have said before, I think they did have incident with a groomer and since then, one of the owners became a groomer to help her business. These are responsible caring people. I would trust them implicitly with my dog and treating me like family, which they have.
It would be a great shame or loss to over-​look this business for other dog owners to use just because one or two reviewers got ticked off. Here at Moulin Pooch, not only is your dog treated like family, but so are you.

Took Cody here for his first groom session a few months ago and Laura really took good care of my dog. I was really concerned about how Cody was going to react because it was his first time getting groomed. The session took only 2 hours and by the time I came back, Cody was really attached to Laura. That in itself showed me that they really took care of my dog. The work done on Cody was a haircut, bath, nails, and «express» all work was done perfectly.
Yes, this place is pricey, but it is also expected given the neighborhood. Still I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a groomer for their pet.

Very disappointed. This review is not for the services of Moulin Pooch, but of the customer service.
My YorkiePoo, Riley, desperately needed a haircut. After looking on Unilocal for a nearby salon, I narrowed my selection down to three (including Moulin Pooch). I called all of them and finally set up an appointment at Moulin Pooch (for about four weeks later on a Saturday at 5p.m.).
Once that Saturday rolled around, I decided to call around 11a.m. to confirm my appointment for later that day. I called and was told that «uh. hm. I’ll have to get back to you. We haven’t heard from the groomer.»
What? Are you kidding? What if I hadn’t called and just came in?
«Okay…,» I said. And waited for her to call me back.
About an hour later I received a phone call back saying that the groomer has been out sick and won’t be coming in for my dog’s appointment.
Now that is just ridiculous. Honestly, how do you run a business when you just totally neglect to tell your customers that you can’t provide the service they’ve had scheduled for a month?
So disappointing, because I had really high hopes for Moulin Pooch and my dog *really* needed a haircut.
Suffice it to say, I will never go to this place for my dog. And I plan to tell everyone I know who has a dog in SF not to do so either. It’s just not acceptable.
For the record: I found another groomer, Pet Grooming Headquarters, and scheduled a Saturday morning grooming appointment with a week’s notice. The groomer was friendly, did a great job and was significantly less expensive than Moulin Pooch.

Two years ago, I came here with my best friend and I remember saying to her — I can’t believe you’re spending this much money on baked goods for your dog. For his Bday? He’s a dog!
Two years later… now a mother of 1 year old half min-​poodle, half bichon. I came back for a Bday cake, Bday cookie, a bag of dry freeze beef patties that looked like human hamburger for my Lychee’s 1^st bday… PARTY! Yup, we had a cute little Bday party at Crissy fields. There were food for the humans and food for our furry babies. All the dogs LOVED the cake. One of my friend’s dog doesn’t even like to eat, but it ate it up. The tiny 5″ round organic cake was expensive –about $ 23-​$ 25. But watching my little baby eat up his cake, it was priceless. Well worth it. (a few of us even tasted the cake and it wasn’t too bad!) The bday cookie was a little hard for my 10 lbs baby but the dry-​freeze beef patties that one of the staff recommended was a hit.
There were two things I was disappointed with… they no longer personalize the cakes and they don’t take AMEX.
But I’ll still be back for another one next year! :)
