Kepler & Trowbridge Golf

What can I say that has not been said? Allen is honest, knows his golf, and makes you a happy customer. My E.R.C. 2 driver shaft broke Allen put a new shaft at a great price! I believe becuase I felt so good about the experience I must of hit that driver 300yards!

My husband sent me here to find him a golf club. I myself am not a golfer and definetly needed help finding what I wanted. The gentleman working there was extremely helpful and I walked out with just what I wanted and my husband is happy too. Great little place!

I just had my clubs re-​gripped here. Excellent job and saved a few bucks with some good advice Allan.

I called Golfsmith on Market Street to see if they could do loft and lie adjustments on my wedges. They couldn’t but recommended Kepler & Trowbridge. I’m hooked! I like Golf Mart and all but now I don’t have to ever drive out that far to get work on my clubs done!
Allan was really helpful. Had to get my 62 degree wedge ground down because it had way too much bounce… and the rest of my wedges adusted and matched. Easy! A little on the pricier side but not complaining.

I just wanted to add my two cents about this place. I decided to check it out after reading all the Unilocaler reviews. Brought my clubs for a checkup or see if they needed to be tweaked.
All the feedback was honest and sincere and not a bunch of mumbo-​jumbo technical stuff or trying to sell me something else.
Visited the next daywith a driver that was in the garage and after hitting in their computer analysis stall, they recommend that I start hitting it again.
Can’t wait to play and see if I lower my score by a stroke or two.
Got a couple regrips and my putter adjusted.
Can’t wait to tell my golf buddies at Sharp Park.

I cannot speak highly enough of Kepler & Trowbridge. Allan and the entire staff are great guys. But being a good guy does not make a great shop on its own. For a small shop, they have good selection. If they don’t have what you want, they can get it quick.
I like to install my own grips. I wanted to get the new lamkin 3 Gen. Further, I use mid-​size which had just became available and had not shipped yet. Well I think I got the first shipment of that grip.
I have referred friends to them before, and they have always expertly repaired or upgraded whatever club was brought it.
If you need any club repair, give them a call.

I just found golf shop nirvana. What a terrific store, and Allan is a terrific guy. I will now only take my clubs to Kepler & Trowbridge for any and all work, and I will be buying my clubs and supplies from them as well.
I found my way to the store because my idiot friend (no offense buddy) pulled the old school trick of unlatching my clubs from the back of the cart right before I put the pedal to the metal. Clubs fall off… haha. It can be funny if you are drinking, but I was not. My driver, my favorite club, snapped in half. Anger.
So I took to Unilocal and found this store. I showed up after work and Allan was great from the beginning. We discussed my options, and to help make an informed choice, he took me to the back of the store and put me on the launch monitor he has. We found the perfect shaft for me that was still affordable. God bless him for that. This guy knows what he is doing. The prices are affordable, and I will be picking my club up 2 – 3 days after I brought it in. He did mention that in most cases he can do it even faster, but he needed to order my shaft as he didn’t have the right one in stock (though he has a ton of shafts in stock).
All I can say is that this store is about service and about golf the right way.
If you are an avid golfer who appreciates a shop run by someone who loves the game and loves what he does, this is your place. If you are new or new-​ish to the game, I can only imagine that Allan and this store is the place for you to go and get outfitted.
I’m so glad I found this place, and I intend on using them for all of my golf guy needs.

I can’t say enough good things about Allan. I’ve had some great clubmakers in the past and he is as good if not better than all of them. I’m a club whore and have been tinkering a lot this year, especially with the longer clubs. I finally found a 3 wood head I liked (r9) and was trying a new shaft Diamana Blueboard X. Allan pured it and tipped it exactly where I wanted the club to be. The difference in puring is absolutely amazing. Plus the build quality from him is fantastic.
Although Puring is a little more expensive than I would like, I would still take all of my clubs to Allan with the belief that he would do a fantastic job. I’d recommend him to anyone.

I was surprised, and relieved, to find out about Kepler and Trowbridge Golf.
I work just south of the city, and often times find myself wandering into a large golf «mart» in South San Francisco during lunch. I am usually just browsing around for good deals on used clubs… I went into said «mart» earlier this week looking for a lob wedge, and was pretty disappointed at the large selection of fairly overpriced, beat up sticks.
After doing a little research yesterday, I promptly visited Kepler and Trowbridge this afternoon — and drove significantly out of my way to do so. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! Allan immediately introduced himself, shook my hand, and thanked me in advance for coming into his establishment. The shop is spic and span, and while they do not have mounds of junky used clubs (like other places) everything is good –to– excellent quality.
I was specifically looking for a lob wedge; something around $ 30-​$ 40. I knew this would be a tough feat, but Allan and team more than came through. I let them know that I needed a firm bounce, a decent name brand, 60 degrees, and ideally forged. Allan pulled out a Nike 58 degree that I missed somewhow. I scratched my head, and he quickly proceeded to angle it back to a 60 degree lie. He then noticed some very minor surface rust on the sole and buffed it right out. Finally, he noticed that the hosel was loose and re-​epoxied it free of charge.
Do yourself a favor — avoid «mart» stores, Golfsmith, Sports Authority, etc. Go see Allan, and support a great local business that does things right. I was previously going to sell my clubs because the shafts are a little long — now I plan to take them into Kepler and Trowbridge for a proper fitting. These guys are experts, nice as hell, and a pleasure to purchase from.

Not surprising to find all 5 star reviews here. My expectations were exceeded in every way. Thanks to Kepler & Trowbridge my driver is fixed with a factory warranty replaced shaft and I got a great deal on a 60 degree sand wedge.

I was referred to Allan from Dan Schwabe, #1 teaching pro in Nor Cal 2009. Dan suggested some new clubs would be in order for me and sent me to see Allan. Great move on my part following my teaches recommendation. Allan was fantastic. We dialed in the computer with the special software and cameras, and Allan fitted me to the best clubs for my swing. The process took a full hour, and Allan was extremely patient with all my questions. At the end of the day i purchased three clubs by two different manufacturers at a great price.
I 00% recommend this place, fair honest and highly recommended by the best.

Well I have to say this place is great. Allan is extremely knowledgeable and his work is flawless. I was very impressed with their attention to detail and the fact that their prices are so reasonable. I went to get my clubs re-​gripped and ended buying a lob wedge also for an unbelievable price.

I was turned on to Allan at Kepler & Trowbridge by the staff at the Presidio Golf Course after the head came off my 6 iron. Allan was super helpful and fixed me up in no time. The prices for club repairs are more than fair and he even did some extra work to insure I couldn’t blame errant golf shots on my club condition (not sure how I feel about this).
He also provided some of the most helpful/​honest feedback about my newly purchased (on eBay) Callaway X-​20 iron set. After I suspected they were counterfeit clubs, Allan put them through the paces and helped me confirm they were fakes. He is incredibly professional and saved me some $$$ by identifying the fakes. He was also very helpful with recommendations on places to buy pre-​owned clubs and how to track down tough to find clubs.
I know most people have ‘a guy’ when it comes to their car issues, and I see no reason why you shouldn’t trust your clubs to the best as well. I’m impressed to say the least and am happy I found a genuine, honest guy so close to home.

Allen is on fire; I brought a club head to get a shaft for it, and Allen takes me into the back room with a what, $ 5000 swing launch monitor and Allen taught golf for 10 years also, in the past?
So he spends all this time with me, and I am apologizing and he keeps telling me this is what he does, «stop saying sorry.»
So he finally decides on a shaft for me that he got from some tour van; mid launch… Allen knows his stuff.
The storefront looks really small, but it is like Snoopy’s doghouse once you enter, all the way to the ‘driving range’ in the back.
They have a TV that will have golf or the Giants on at every moment., so you can chill if you want to…
But most important is the oh so friendly demeanor of the staff and their vast knowledge of golf shafts, clubs, etc. Okay, I am a G.C. (General Contractor) and I do not like shopping at certain big box stores like Blowes and H. Despot… I prefer the places where humans who know their craft exist.
There is no place in the Sunset where you can find a good burrito, but I highly recommend this place for all your golf needs… Honest, and keeping it real over there on Noriega street.
The irony is I have friends coming to Kepler/​Trowbridge from the MIssion for good club making skills, whilst I go to the Mission for a good buritto; it all works out.
You get a real feel over there that life is not about stressing out, but to enjoy life.
So they built me a gorgeous driver and I am very happy.
I will be going back… Forget the big box golf stores… Oh I wanted my shaft ‘pured’ and they did it too. These guys are magicians.

Certain businesses just give you the warm fuzzy feeling as soon as you walk in the door. Once I discovered this Sunset golf repair shop, I have been back repeatedly because of the terrific service and quality work provided by owner/​operator Allan Trowbridge. It’s an entirely different experience than your Nevada Bob’s or your Golfsmith or Golfmart or whatever. It’s obvious that you’re in the hands of 1) a sole proprieter who *really* cares about his product and his clients, and 2) a master craftsman who will treat your irons, fairway woods, driver, and putter with the TLC they deserve.
Allan is also not the kind of sleazy operator who is happy to oversell you on equipment that won’t actually make a difference in your golf game. A few weeks ago, I went to the shop believing in my heart that the solution to my putting woes was a new putter. I would have been happy to spend a hundred dollars or more on a new flatstick. I tried out several on his small in-​shop putting lane, and was about to take one to the counter to purchase it. But what did I get instead? A mini putting lesson from Allan that made a huge difference in my confidence with my OLD putter! It’s rare that you find a shop proprieter honest enough to tell you «it’s not the putter that makes you miss putts, it’s your bad putting routine that makes you miss putts.» For that, Allan will forever have my business and my trust.
Recently I spent over an hour with Allan on his launch monitor in the back, where he had me hit several iron and driver shots to analyze lie, launch angle, and spin rate. Again, rather than sell me a $ 400 driver, Allan looked at the results on the computer monitor and said «your driver is the PERFECT driver for you. Don’t change anything.» And rather than sell me new wedges, he bent them slightly so that they fit my natural posture… a process which took no time at all, and which cost me only a fraction of what new clubs would cost.
I apologize for all the gushing, but this business really is *that* good. It’s a no-​brainer if you’re a golfer anywhere near the city.

Incredible customer service experience! I went in to buy a new driver and ended up walking out with a new driver, 3 wood, set of irons, bag and lob wedge.
Allan spent over a half hour with me analyzing my swing. He quickly assessed my swing and was able to provide me with the correct clubs and, most importantly, shafts. He took the time to explain to me why the flex in your shaft has such a major impact on your golf game. Allan definitely knows his stuff.
Also, Allan didn’t try to upsell me. I didn’t even tell him the budget I was working with. He automatically recommended the cheaper, used clubs that he thinks are just as good as the newer, more expensive options.
If you are looking to be fitted for the right clubs; Kepler & Townbridge is the place to go!!!

I came here for a used driver. I’m a beginer and I havent owned my own clubs before and boy did I come to the right place.
He helped me pick out a nice cleveland hibore that was a little beyond my budget but he cut me a deal.
Not only did he cut me a great deal but I got a free lesson as I was testing it out in back.
I am usually pretty nervous when going in to places like this without much knowledge but he was very helpful and never condescending.

GOLF, GOLF, GOLF! In the Sunset non less! Close to Harding Park and other Golf areas, but I was very surprise to see a golf shop in the sunset.
Bill and Allan have been in the business for over 15 years and knows the game of golf. They even have a swinging meter in the back to do personalize fittings. So if you need a new bag, or new clubs this is the place to ask your questions. My boyfriend was checking out the TaylorMade — R9 Driver and they were selling it for $ 399.00, like everywhere else, but you get to play with it.
They are a family owned business which gives this place a personal touch. You can bring in your clubs and they can see if you have the right ones. They also buy used clubs.
They have only been open for a few weeks so it’s worth checking them out. I already bought a bag from them and thinking of bringing my clubs by. In a couple of months Allan might be giving golf lessons.
Whether you’re getting started or working on improving your game, this is the place to go!
