Joelle is a life saver, a sage, a medicine woman, a dear friend and confidant! I’ve been treated by her for many many years and I’m always happy with my treatments. She can treat any ailment I have, whether physical or emotional. She’s guided me with nutritional advice and steered me to better health with smarter food choices and I’ve become very in tune with the connection between food and health, mood and energy. I can’t speak highly enough about her. She’s a gem and I’ve sent countless clients to her, with satisfied results. I don’t know what I’d do without her.

Joelle is an outstanding Acupuncturist. I have a complicated array of painful conditions and Joelle has been able to help me tremendously. I have been to several acupuncturists and I have found Joelle to be far superior in terms of knowledge, skill set and compassion. She really takes the time to get to know you and your situation and is always working hard to find solutions. She also has a fantastic line of high performing supplements and will recommend very specific products based on your needs. Often times Acupuncturists only recommend herbs and you just have no idea what they really are but with the products Joelle carries you know exactly what you are getting. Her practice is like a little sanctuary, I always leave there feeling incredibly relaxed and confident that I am on the right path to pain relief. Even though I live in the Marina and close to so many Acupuncturists, I drive across town 2 days/​week to see Joelle, she is that good!

If you want the best in accupuncture, Joelle is it! If she cannot help you, you will need to look for another kind of procedure. She is outstanding!

Joelle has truly changed my life! I’ve had a mixed bag of acupuncture experiences since relocating from the East Coast and I was lucky enough to find Joelle through the UCSF Womens’ Health Center. Joelle is patient, focused, and, most importantly, effective. I have seen extraordinary results in just a few months, and every session leaves me feeling stronger.

I pulled a muscle in my back so bad that i couldn’t even walk. Joelle came to my house, on a Sunday no less, and gave me a treatment in the morning & came back in the evening. By Monday i could walk up & down the stairs. I had another treatment on Monday. She spent 2 hours and would not let me leave until it felt better. She always makes sure you are satisfied with the results and follows up to see how I am doing. She is so knowledgeable about the whole body. I wouldn’t go to anyone else and would recommend her to anyone. She’s the best.

Joelle is so helpful and I was sort of skeptical about acupuncture because it really hadn’t worked well in the past. This time for a work related injury involving muscles and nerves. Even after one treatment I felt much better and there was no need for me to use ice or heat that night! This injury had gone on for months but after several treatments in combination with my regular doctor, I’m finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel! I can’t recommend Joelle enough. She’s very helpful. :-)

I thought that acupuncture was nonsense but a friend (Chinese friend) recommended her to me. I saw her for an infection that wouldn’t go away… she’s incredible. The décor is French zen. It’s soothing and relaxing. She doesn’t try to sell you «packages» or any gimmicky stuff you don’t need… (she will actually try to simplify what you are currently doing if need be…) I like her style. She’s very knowledgable and approachable. Oh… and my insurance covered it. Yup. I have recommended many friends to her… because she helped me when western medicine couldn’t (but don’t get me wrong… I’m not saying that western medicine is bad… it just treats the symptoms sometimes…)

Easy parking and central location. Relaxing spa like office. Painless treatments that help eliminate any concern that acupuncture may bring.

Joelle is even better than the 5 star reviews on Unilocal.I was visiting San Francisco for work and experiencing the worst back pain of my life. Desperate for releif, I decided I would try acupuncture for the first time but with extremely limited availability, I had little hope of making an appointment. Joelle was kind enough to see me that day, she listened to and clearly understood my complaints. She worked with me for over an hour, and made sure she addressed each area of discomfort. Not only did this first time experience open me up to the healing power of acupuncture, Joelle was able to releave nearly all of my pain in just one session. I’m now a firm believer in acupuncture and a grateful fan of Joelle. Just wish I had her in my home town!

I have been receiving acupuncture since moving to San Francisco in 1997. The first practitioner I saw was a bit of an oddball. The second wasn’t an oddball, but wasn’t very good at treating my allergies. Then eight years ago I found Joelle. I now see her for allergies, headaches and pretty much anything else that doesn’t feel right. She’s knowledgeable, kind and her studio is always clean and inviting. If you’re looking for an acupuncturist, you will not go wrong here.

I finally made an appointment with Joelle after being dissatisfied with the improvement of my migraines with medications and boy do I wish I came here sooner!
As a UCSF student, your health insurance will cover your acupuncture visits with Joelle if your primary care provider refers you! That means you’ll save on the $ 125 for the first visit and $ 95 subsequent visits. Joelle was recommended to me by Dr. Reynolds at student health after I expressed some interest in alternative medicine and after another patient was successfully treated by Joelle for her migraines.
From the UCSF campus, Joelle’s business is about a 30 minute walk. Her business is located in a residential area without an obvious business sign so be careful if you’re looking for a huge advertisement because there isn’t. Instead, there is a small placard with Joelle’s name and telephone number at the entrance onsite. You walk up a set of stairs, follow the signs and Joelle’s office is to the left.
Once you enter the office, you truly feel like you’ve stepped into a spa. Joelle is also a warm and friendly person so you feel even more at ease. She was very attentive to my thoughts and concerns, never condescending which made it easy for me to open up to her. She’s very confident and knowledgeable and to top it off, extremely caring. She took the extra steps to e-​mailing me directions to her office and e-​mailing me an ointment she recommended after I left. I wanted to probe her brain some more but she was so busy catering to her other clients. Yes, you need to make an appointment because she’s busy!
You can expect about an hour session with her. Once I was done, she told me I’d should expect an increase in the range of motion in my neck and you know what? I do! I never realized the tension was there. I’ve been to masseuse’s and chiropractors and haven’t felt so much relief in a while. I’m returning this Friday for a cupping session and will keep you updated!

Joelle is an amazing life saver. She is very energetic, positive, considerate and professional in her line of work. I was recommended to see her by my internal medicine doctor for treating chronic neck and shoulder pain. She has helped me get over this chronic pain within a few months using acupuncture, cupping and herbal patches.
Since then, Joelle has also been a savior in diagnosing and treating my other health issues, including chronic acid reflux, chronic seasonal allergies, morning sickness, lower back pain, sciatic pain — basically you name it.

I started acupunture sessions with Joelle due to a work-​related wrist and shoulder injury from over-​typing and mousing (she is accredited by the workers comp program at UCSF). My visits to her have been really helpful, and over time, she not only treated my wrist and arm injuries, but also problems with digestion, stress, sleep, the flu, and also personal problems! I always feel rested and great after a one-​hour session. Joelle is also very knowledgable and shows a genuine interest in me and my overall well-​being, which makes me feel comfortable in discussing with her various my health issues. Because of her, I’ve also started using herbal remedies vs prescription drugs, and it has been working out really well. Im now a convert to acupuncture and herbal medicine! I definitely recommend it especially for pregnant women and others who may have bad reactions to traditional medicine.

A few months ago, I realized that I had a repetitive stress injury to my elbow. Several folks told me that they had it and that acupuncture was the only thing that helped. Since I’m absolutely terrified of needles and a believer in western medicine, I decided I’d rather french kiss a blender. The pain didn’t go away and after tons of whining, my friend called Joelle for me and made an appointment. She was so understanding of my phobia, I decided to give her a chance.
Joelle was beyond patient with me. She’s gentle and calming. Best of all, the pain went away after a handful of sessions. I’d highly recommend her!

Joelle is fantastic! I don’t have any specific problems but I go there to get tweaked and re-​calibrated especially when I’m stressed out from work. She’s very knowledgeable and have been doing this for a long time, accommodating w/​your schedule and take time to assess what’s going on in your life so we can appropriately treat you. The needles surprisingly barely hurt! Her treatment rooms are tastefully decorated — I almost feel like I’m at the spa! If you’re into meditation, I’d recommend listening to your meditation during the session. What a great way to relax!

I came to Joelle walking like a robot because I couldn’t turn my neck or move my arms abruptly without getting a intense cramping. Within two sessions, I felt relief. I have gone to her twice a week for the last month and I feel so much better. I can now turn my neck and reach for things whenever I fancy.
Joelle is also a warm person and I enjoy our conversations. I feel like she really cares whether I am improving or not and will listen to me describe even the slightest pain.
Also, I recommend trying cupping before you try massage. It’s a strange sensation at first, but by my fourth visit, I found that it was incredibly soothing and gave me better results than massage. Never thought I’d recommend skipping a massage, but there it is– Joelle’s cupping is better than any massage!

Joelle is a gifted healer with a true understanding of a holistic approach to health of the mind and body. She has treated me for a variety of ailments, both chronic and temporary, with immediate positive results. Her gentle manner and good humor makes the process relaxing, her offices are meditative and exceptionally clean. I give Joelle the highest recommendation for what ever ails you!

At first I was a skeptic of acupuncture, and now I’m a believer. Joelle helped me with my back pains and stress. After severely straining a muscle in my back, and being bedridden for a day, I went to see Joelle.
