I hired george to move craigslist furniture that was too big for my car. He was very nice and professional when I called and I immediately felt at ease. He made moving my new sofa pretty painless and it was totally affordable.

I called Howard for some help when we still had some furniture left over after a garage sale. He was prompt, very professional, and even agreed to come out the same day! I had needed to move a newly-​purchased futon about 3 blocks. I called several of those folks who advertise ‘small move specialists’ on Craigslist, and was shocked at the rude unprofessional behavior (one guy tried to charge me $ 100 for a 20minute task and called me ‘cheap’ when I tried to negotiate down!). So when I called Howard (through his Craigslist post) and got a polite, professional-​sounding person asking me details of the move and quoting a reasonable rate, I couldn’t believe my ears. Howard showed up on time with his truck, directed the moving of the futon through narrow TIC hallways, wrapped the futon with care during transportation and did everything efficiently. I would recommend him for any such moving tasks — what a relief!
Minus 1 star for his $ rate which was a bit too high for 2 movers and I asked a friend to help instead to get the 1 mover rate.

Howard picked up and delivered a large window screen that did not fit in my car. He called me right back when I left an inquiry, scheduled the pick-​up the next day and delivered to my condo when I got home from work. His flat fee was very reasonable and appropriate for a small pick up and delivery job. I highly recommend him.

I called on MLK Day, wanting to schedule the removal of a large (84″ long) futon with frame and a 40″ long 2 drawer chest from my living room, as IKEA was coming in 3 days to deliver and assemble 3 additional bookcases. I had thought they could be picked up the following day. Howard was very responsive and said he would check to see if his helpers were avaiable on that day. He called back and said they weren’t available on that day, but would I consider them picking up the items in an hour or two — we agreed upon a time and they were here promptly. Howard told me the basic rate, which was reasonable. A problem ensued due to the size of the futon and the bookcase– filled– foyer, through which they had to maneuver the futon. So they then had to disassemble it to remove it. (I only had to get rid of the futon as it took up too much space in the apartment, and had hoped someone would give it a home). Howard promised that it would be reassembled and thought it would find a home. Howard kept to his original quoted price and did not add for the disassembly. After they had gotten there, I asked whether they could also move an extremely large pile of books, papers, boxers from one room to another (as the room had to be cleared for the IKEA installation); they were able to do this for an additional reasonable charge. Howard and his two men crew took great care in what they did, were very personable and a pleasure to work with. If I have another hauling job, I’ll be sure to call them again. In many years of working for large institutions, I would rank Howard as the top in customer service! Thank you, Howard.

So, last Saturday afternoon, I moved for the first time this IKEA wardrobe in order to clean behind it and *BAM* the piece of cr*p collapsed. I wanted it – or I should say, the pieces — gone immediately. Found Howard on Craigslist, called him at 3:00, and by 4:30 the pile of fake wood was gone. In addition, I had a huge stack of folded flat storage boxes. Asked if he needed them for customers who are moving. No, but he said he’d take them off my hands and with no extra charge. Yeah!
I highly recommend Howard. He’ll be the first mover or refuse hauler I call next time I need one.

Howard is awesome! I called him when we were in a jam and not able to get a piece of furniture in my car. He showed up fifteen minutes later and saved us big time. He was also very knowledgeable about the vintage furniture we had just purchased and helped us move it up to our apartment to make sure we didn’t damage such a gem. Very nice guy and a pleasure to work with.

Howard was able to fit an unbelievable amount of furniture, wood, trash, and various debris onto his truck, piling it until the mountain of refuse reached for the heavens. Then, in a flash, it was all gone, never to clutter up my life again! I would recommend Howard and Flash Hauling for all your hauling needs. Absolutely a pleasure to work with.

Howard is a true professional, not a scratch on the rosewood, was careful even to show me how to properly move items. As a SF newbie, he even taught me the loveliness of going north on Franklin.

Howard and Shu (sic?) came out to do a job for me and were so nice and knowledgable that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

We had Howard move a Craigslist wardrobe for us a few months back. I found him on Unilocal the night before we were buying the piece and he quoted us a very reasonable price (about half what anyone else did). He met us at the spot where we were picking up the wardrobe (he was running about 15minutes late but called well in advance to let me know that was the case), and then delivered it to our house. Even though the job was MUCH more difficult than anticipated, he didn’t change the price on us. He was also an absolutely expert mover and took extreme care to make sure the piece was undamaged (and even pointed out some defects in the dresser).

Howard moved a wine cabinet I’d bought on Craigslist from San Francisco to Menlo Park and I was very satisfied with the entire experience.
When we spoke on the phone, he quoted me a flat rate, so there were no surprises. He charged about what it would’ve cost me to rent a U-​Haul (don’t forget their «low rates» include steep mileage fees, plus you have to buy gas!). And of course having someone else move the cabinet was far less hassle than doing it myself!
Howard was very good with communication on the day of the move – he called me before he went to pick up the cabinet, called me when he was leaving the city, and called me once he was off the freeway.
He also took a lot of care with padding and protecting the cabinet, which arrived in perfect condition.
Based on my experience, I’d gladly recommend Howard for your single item & small move needs!

I used Flash Hauling to move a couch and dishwasher into my apartment in SF and they were great to work with. He charges $ 50 for two guys and a truck plus $ 10 flight stairs per item. They have all the necessary equipment to move items so you don’t need to do anything.
Howard (the owner) is great on the phone. They are fast and efficient. Great if you buy big bulky things on craigslist and you are not prepared to move them yourself. I would definitely use them again.
The reason they are missing a star is because they were late from a previous move, but Howard had called to let me know they were behind schedule so it worked out fine.

After two other movers flaked on me from Craigslist, I called Howard at Flash Hauling and he came right over. He did a great job and he even cost less than the Craigslist movers. I highly recommend him.
