Bank of the West

The customer service at this location is among the Worst! I was loyal customer at this branch for over 15yrs & this incompetent Supervisor Selesa Malepeai closed my account cause she had issues with my daughter business account. I even spoke with her Manager Aotta Tang & he didn’t understand why she closed my account but yet he did nothing to rectify the matter. I have went thru all the Protocols to resolve this matter, but nothing has changed, so I got all my funds out of this Bank. Loyalty & customer service means nothing to them & it’s a Dis-​service that they’re in our community. My suggestion, is to bank elsewhere & join a Credit union that’s services the Community!

I really don’t want to give this Branch ANY Stars. The customer service here does not exist!!! I can’t believe I even went back into for a second try to the same teller who was rude and slow the first time I went there a few weeks ago.
Today, at 4:30PM — I asked SAUNDRA to help me research a past transaction. She told and pointed «She and she there are leaving soon and I’m too busy to help you… Come back on Monday»
I looked at her and looked behind me. There was no one else in the branch expect me. She still refused to help me look up my transaction.
It’s Tellers and Customer Service like SAUNDRA that drives Customers AWAY. I will never go back in there ever again. The Branch Manager really needs to reevaluate the way the Tellers talk and treat your clients.

I have been getting Robo Calls from this bank for about 3 weeks now. There looking for someone I do not know. I keep going through the process of telling them that they have the wrong number. But they refuse to stop the calls. I have requested that they stop the calls at least 4 – 5 times. Each time they assure me that my number has been removed. But the Robo Calls continue. Anyone have a clue how to stop it?

This is a good bank. It’s always been a pleasure dealing with this branch. I like Bank of the West and I hope they remain a stand alone bank. After three of my previous banks being bought out /​merged by some nasty large banks (BofA, Citi Bank), I was glad I to open an account with Bank of the West.
They treat you like a human being, know me by first name, they have the same staff, low or no turnover at all, treat you with respect and will keep you updated on any suspicious activity on your account.
They were more than helpful and patient when I recently had to deal with some fraudulent activity on my account which was resolved rapidly.

I have issues with banks.
I never understand what they are doing, in terms of holding checks here, posting this now and that later on, charges for this and that, not clearly identifying what I spent my money on on my statement.
But Bank of the West– at least this location… when I call them, they actually try to show me and make me understand their reasoning and why they do what they do. They don’t let me leave until I am happy. And if I’m not happy, they waive fees for me.
They try to provide customer service and in comparison to other banks, they do okay with it.
There is rarely a wait in line.
Yeah, they are small for the state of CA, but they have quite a few locations in SF so it hasn’t posed to be too much of an inconvenience for me.
