Established in 2006.

I had a private practice in LA upon graduation from Emperor’s College of TCM in Santa Monica. Two years later I moved to the Bay Area and teamed up with earth&sky oasis urban retreat in San Francisco as their in house acupuncturist. In 2013, I left earth&sky oasis and am now practicing under Anna Gold Acupuncture in downtown San Francisco.

Anna Hsieh Gold, L. Ac, MTOM earned her degrees at UC Berkeley and Emperor’s College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Her clinical experience includes externships at UCLA Arthur Ashe Center, ECTOM clinic, LA Free Clinic as well as apprenticeships with senior acupuncturists Robert Zeiger, OMD, L. Ac and Raven Lang, acupuncturist and midwife. Before opening her private acupuncture practice, Anna taught Ashtanga and Jivamukti yoga in New York and Los Angeles.

Anna specializes in women’s health and pain management. She loves to help women ease through life’s transitions such as pregnancy, menopause, and stress induced hormonal imbalances.

Anna is a GODSEND! Seriously, if I could see her on a daily basis I would. Whatever the ailment is – or just general acupuncture, she is truly the best at her craft (and I’ve been to other acupuncturists/​chiropractors, etc.). The bonus is that she is just a cool person — super professional, friendly, grounded/​centered and just «good people». I’ve been to Anna for shoulder pain, wrist pain, stress, insomnia, infertility consultation, back pain, etc. — it’s all good. I always leave her office feeling so energized and sleep the best after her treatments. I’ve referred friends to her and they love her too. I trust Anna completely — you simply can’t go wrong with her services.

I saw Anna today for the 1st time. I have been wanting to give acupuncture a shot for my allergies for a while now. I am very pleased with her office, approach, personality etc. She is very warm and is wonderful at explaining the treatment and the process. I am going to see her at least 5 more times. I am already feeling some relief after just the one visit. I will send everyone to her.

Anna is truly magical. I’ve had asthma for most of my life but the last couple years I started to lose the battle. Docs kept increasing dosages and adding more to my growing list of meds. The side effects were awful and the steroids jacked up my immune system so I was constantly getting sick. The first time I saw Anna I immediately felt relief. I could finally breath and see some light at the end of the tunnel. Now 6 months later I am off all meds except my rescue inhaler which I hardly use and I’m not getting sick as often. Like I said, MAGICAL!

I went to Anna for help conceiving. I was seeing her for 6 months before I got pregnant, then periodically throughout my pregnancy. Not only is she very knowledgeable and on your side, she’s also helped me heal other injuries– sciatica before I got pregnant, a back injury during pregnancy, arthritis in my knees. I cannot rate her highly enough! I trust her completely and will return to her regularly once I can spend a little time away from my newborn baby!

I’ve been seeing Anna for almost a year… She has been a god send throughout my pregnancy and post natal experience. It started around my 20th week of pregnancy when I had gallbladder pains, I was concerned about developing gallstones. As my pregnancy became more and more high risk; gestational diabetes, high blood pressure, eventual preeclampsia and bed rest– I worked with Anna weekly to keep my symptoms in check. She always had a great attitude and a genuine empathy that made me so relieved to have her in my corner. After my daughter’s premature birth and subsequent NICU stay, I’m convinced I was able to breastfeed only because of her assistance. Even now when I have supply issues, a treatment and supplements from her improve my milk supply within a day. I don’t hesitate to evangelize Anna’s abilities and look forward to my treatments from her. I will absolutely go back to her before, during, and after my next pregnancy.

I have been to many great acupuncturists and have had some wonderful results, but I went to Anna with a neck and shoulder problem. I thought I knew what she was going to do because of my past experiences with other acupuncturists, but she threw something new that I have never experienced before at me. I was utterly surprised and thrilled at her treatment, .because with the knowledge I have, I knew her treatment plan had great validity! Sure enough, by the end of the treatment, by problem was 85% cleared up and I could go back to work without suffering!
Thank you, Anna for not being afraid to do something ridiculously different on me and trusting you intuition and abilities. That’s what I look for and want in practitioners: someone not afraid to step outside the box and treat you in a way that intuitively speaks to them.

I was a patient of Anna Gold for pregnancy. My baby was transverse breech in the third trimester. I was hopeful but I could not believe that the baby turned head down only two days after treatment! I continued to see Dr. Gold for labor readiness and induction when I was passed due. The treatments were always very relaxing and very effective. Anna has perfect bedside manner and really has a special touch for healing. I can’t recommend her enough.

I’ve been getting acupuncture with Anna for over 5 years. But this last treatment I had with her was so effective that I needed to write about it.
I had a horribly clogged Eustachian tube and was warned by my new fave EENT (Dr. Smart) that I shouldn’t get on a plane in 2 days.
Anna’s diagnostic skills and attention to detail make her a top notch practitioner. I’m a needle– phoebe and a sensitive being but at this point I just wanted to get better. There were needles in my TMJ, the sides of my nose, my shoulders,. You get the picture — BUT ALL DONE with the accuracy and gentleness of a true master.
Seriously, I felt so much better after that treatment. Ana just keeps getting better and as a health practitioner (like myself,) I really appreciate her care and bedside manner. She really knows what she’s doing.
She’s also great with the pre-​post natal crowd as well as hormone balancing.

Before I saw Anna I was skeptical when it came to acupuncture, but she changed that. She is truly AMAZING. She took one look at my tongue and asked me why I haven’t been sleeping. When I went to see her I was feeling overwhelmed, stressed, and exhausted which led to sleepless nights. I couldn’t believe how much she could figure out by just looking at my tongue and feeling my pulse. I truly felt much more relaxed, calm, and rejuvenated after I saw Anna.
Part of what makes Anna stand out besides her skill, is her upbeat personality. She has such a warm welcoming smile and is really compassionate. I immediately felt comfortable with Anna and was so fascinated by what she does and how much she knows. I left with supplements and herbs that she put together for me. Since seeing her my mind and body feel so much better.

I was feeling run down and a little stuffy. I thought I could be coming down with a cold, or even worse, the flu! I made an appointment to see Anna as soon as I felt the symptoms coming on. She is so skilled at what she does that my symptoms were completely gone the next day and I felt energized! Needless to say I didn’t get sick! As a lifelong asthmatic, I’m pretty skeptical about medicines, cures, vitamins, and other fixes. But when my GP told me I’d need to take a steroidal control medication every day for the rest of my life, I started to look for other options.
A friend had recommended Anna almost a year before, saying that acupuncture could improve my asthma, and I’d filed the recommendation under «maybe someday».
Motivated by the steroid recommendation, I started going to see Anna in early 2012. As someone who used an albuterol inhaler multiple times a day, I figured any improvement would be good.
After four weekly treatments, I went three days without using my inhaler. After another month, I went two weeks without using it. Now, almost a year later, I routinely go a week or more at a time without needing the inhaler, with attacks usually brought on only by stress, work travel, or serious athletic activity. For someone who’s been asthmatic since birth, simply waking up in the morning without difficulty breathing is amazing. Anna has, without exaggeration, changed my life.
That’s about the best recommendation I can give.

I was referred to Anna when we found out that I had some fertility hurdles to overcome in order to get pregnant. She was a breath of fresh air from the moment I met her. Anna has such a comforting way about her, not to mention that she’s super funky and hip… made me feel right at home. Of course you can never be certain, but I am convinced her work with me helped us get pregnant much quicker than the doctors had told us it would take. I continued to see her throughout my pregnancy and she helped with all of the common pregnancy related ailments, plus provided me a solid nap each time I was on her table. More importantly she was such a fabulous support and coach — almost like my therapist! I highly recommend Anna!

I have seen Anna many times over the last few years, and am finally writing a review! She is an amazing healer. She mainly helped me with fertility treatment and pregnancy support, but along the way she also addressed neck and upper back soreness, cramps, wrist pain, as well as overall health. I was 36 weeks with a breech baby when I can to see Anna for moxibustion treatment. I tried the treatment for about 5 days. That along with prenatal swim help turn my baby before I had my appt to have the doctor turn the baby. Anna made me feel very comfortable and explained the procedure every step of the way. She also helped me with increasing milk production somehow.

I was so excited when Anna Hsieh Gold became the acupuncturist at Earth and Sky! She is the best. She’s young and hip but also very experienced and professional – a nice mix. She has healed me of the following ailments: ankle sprain, back injury, shoulder soreness, pms, depression, and I’m sure a ton of others I can’t remember. I would recommend her to anyone who’s a little nervous but curious about acupuncture, as well as regular devotees who just need a great healer.

When my wife was pregnant with our 2nd child the baby was breech — feet down (actually butt down, but was feet down for a while). Our doctor told us that he would monitor the situation, but if the baby didn’t turn by 36 weeks, he recommended that my wife go into the hospital for the baby to be turned manually, which is pretty uncomfortable from what he described. He also warned that if that didn’t work, he couldn’t do it again and at that point we would have to have a Cesarean. Both options didn’t sound appealing so we came to Anna Hsieh Gold, and she recommended Moxibustion (sp?) — applying heat to the little toes by using a kind of pressed-​coal herbal stick — for a specific time for 10 days.
I was skeptical, because we tried every other alternative we could find on the internet and by word of mouth with no success, but I figured it couldn’t hurt to try this. Amazingly, after 5 days of the Moxibustion treatment, the baby righted herself to the head down/​launch position.
This not only helped to put the baby in the correct position, but it relieved a lot of stress and anxiety over how the delivery played out. Thanks Anna!
