I have not done a review in a long time but felt compelled to log back in after David changed my life. He did healing energy work on me. I had torn a bunch of stuff in my shoulder, rotator cuff area and after a year my arm was still going numb and I was still in pain during most surf sessions. 2 visits and I would say I am 90% back to where I was. I will do a third session and am certain that will have me at 100%. I will admit, I have worked in biotech for 15 years and was a tad skeptical this would work. I went in with an open mind though, and I can absolutely tell you it did. My suggestion, don’t get hung up on the science. If you are injured, try David first. He is the real deal and will get you fixed up.

Ever since I’ve been having regular massages from David I’ve had fewer headaches, less shoulder pain and I sleep better. He’s sensitive to my particular needs and although he’s worked with me regularly over the months, he doesn’t assume I need the same treatment I got the previous time, he always checks in and starts anew.

Excellent Massage — very much recommended. He perfectly blended the type of massage that heals and restores sore muscles and the type of massage that provides a great relaxing feeling. Often I get massages that do one or the other. He’s also very polite and easy to work with.

I ride a motorcycle on a daily basis and have poor computer posture so I try to get a lot of massages. To save money, I’ve tried cheaper places and have regretted all of it: I’ve had phones loudly ringing in the background, had people tap dance on my my back and press on my muscles to the point of extreme pain leaving me feeling like I was assaulted. I’ve had a $ 20 massage where the masseuse, cleared his sinuses repeatedly and paused to answer his cellphone — Not soothing and EW! At one place, I was left with only a small wash cloth covering my crotch while an elderly woman scrubbed me down with a hot towel — AWKWARD! In each case these sessions were anything but relaxing.
I first met David through his work at the Kabuki Spa and he instantly became my favorite masseuse. David radiates the professionalism, positive energy and skill sorely (pun intended) lacking at these cheaper places. I can tell he is a true healer committed to making you feel better and a session with him was enough to alleviate my sore muscles with the added benefit of leaving me «grounded» after — A trip home on a packed rush hour Geary bus didn’t even phase me. He is an expert on the human body and skilled at finding my problem spots then «going deep» and painlessly releasing any of my knots or tight muscles. Also, he knows which surrounding muscles to treat with the proper amount of pressure in order to help the ailment. I can’t say enough good things about him. This guy knows his stuff!

David is very good at what he does. He is very caring and understanding as well. He does amazing body work — His hands have this intuitive finesse to them, I look forward to getting more work done. He’s a gem.

I was having some serious joint issues and tried lots of options. Dave suggested a couple sessions might do the trick but I was feeling much better after just one! I wasn’t a true believer in energy work but I was open to alternate healing and Dave was very intuitive and focused. He is a true professional and really helped me heal myself. Thanks Dave.

David is my favorite massage therapist in San Francisco. His style is Swedish and he does excellent deep tissue, trigger point release, and energy work upon request. He also does house calls and his prices are quite reasonable. In one word RELIEF! I highly recommend David.

Dave Holt helped me recover from a chronic cough and cold I’d had for nearly seven months. After the first of our two sessions on this problem the cough disappeared completely even though I knew, intuitively, that we had a little more work to do. (We’d run out of time.) The cough came back very slightly a few days later, so I went in again to finish the job. We had an amazingly powerful session — not enough can be said for the combination of his great massage techniqe AND his energy work. The next morning I woke up and for the first time in seven months I felt well again. I am happy to say I have fully recovered … Dave Holt is simply one of the best healers I’ve ever had the privilege to work with!

Wow, I just love Dave. His massages are indeed amazing (the perfect pressure, leaving me blissfully ‘worked on’ and relaxed), but what he does is more than just a massage … his energy work and intuition flows throughout. If I’m going through something he will often intuitively deliver a little message (or even a beautiful channeled poem) in the middle of the massage that is exactly what I needed to hear in that moment to open up — not to just physical healing, but emotional healing as well. Couple that with the energy work he does and it’s less like a massage and more like bodywork experience that leaves me more whole, more alive, more at peace, and more grateful for everything in my life.

Being a therapist myself, I have had MANY massages. Dave’s massage was unlike any other massage I have ever had. Not only are his hands intuitive, but he is also an amazing energy healer. I went in to get a massage from him and by the end of the session my aching hip pain went away and I had an emotional breakthrough regarding a painful experience I was going through. I was in tears and couldn’t believe that a massage was able to bring me to that level! Dave is a miracle worker and I am not saying that lightly. He is the REAL deal y’all!

I have been to see David twice now and WOW! He is amazing. I am usually not impressed that easily by body work as I am really sensitive but this guy is amazingly intuitive and aware of your needs. I highly recommend him for anyone who needs to be worked over and turned into a piece of putty and not made to feel sore from too much pressure. Don’t get me wrong, he is incredibly strong and will work right at your threshold to help release the nasty knots without hurting you! He is a true master, give him a try, you won’t be disappointed. He also combines effortlessly amazing energy work into his technique to help relax and channel you into a very happy relaxed place, My only complaint is that I wish I could have him work on me more often :)!

I’ve had many massages in my life, but never one so intuitive as I had today. Dave knew just the right pressure (not too light, but not so hard as to be in pain). But he also knew intuitively what my body needed most, and where. He did some amazing energy work on me as part of the massage which had me leave in grounded bliss.

Best massage ever!
I have had many massages in my life from many different therapists and I can honestly say that David is truly the best! I work out regularly and have had several physical pains over the past year that David has been able to heal, and each time, in just in one session. He is intuitive, kind, sensitive, calming, thorough and professional. His touch is truly healing. I think his hands have built-​in knot/​pain sensors, because he finds and soothes them immediately without my needing to say a word. He may ask if the pressure is OK, and adjusts accordingly, which is good because I like deep tissue massage, especially in my shoulder blades, and David is very accommodating. Perfect pressure! Where I need the pressure more gentle, he seems to instinctively know. Afterwards, I feel completely refreshed, revitalized, blissful, and calm, yet invigorated.
Recently, I had my first prenatal massage with David and even though, because I am now pregnant, it can’t be as deep as I like it, I was left feeling peaceful, happy, balanced and in a positive state of mind.
David also practices a type of healing energy work called Quantum Touch
and even though I hadn’t ever heard of it before, and don’t really know much about it, it works! Incorporating this technique in various massage sessions, David has healed in me everything from headaches to lower back pain to a chronic sore throat (that had lasted over two months!) to other localized pains, and all in very little time!
His massage room in his brand new Pacific Heights office space is warm, relaxing and inviting. His new table is the most comfortable I have ever laid down upon and the cozy flannel sheets and blanket are so soft. Plus, he warms it all up before you climb in! Ahhhhhhh…
Oh, and he provides a bottled water to rehydrated. Nice added touches!
