Specialties

I provide daily walks for your family member. It can be quick pop-​in walk or a long exercise walk/​jog. I can stay over-​night, while your on business trip or vacation. If, you desire your family member to socialize, he/​she can stay at my home and enjoy the company of other furry friends. Your pet will be living the good life, have fun and will be safe!

History

Established in 2013.

I have been a resident of San Diego since 1983 and love what the city has to offer pets and there owners. That is why I started «Walk-​A-​Bout Dog Service.»

I lived in San Diego since 1983 and have owned dogs my whole life. I’m member of Pet Sitters International, Certified in Pet CPR/​First Aid, Senior Petizen and Dental Care through Pet Tech, Certified in Behavior Assessment through Four Legged Life’s Dog Behavior Workshop and through Petco Positive Dog Training and I have been a volunteer with PAWS San Diego since 2010.

Very unprofessional and unhelpful. Gigi didn’t seem to care about any specifics about my dog and didn’t give any clear information about availability, but still nagged to keep us on. Won’t waste my money here.

If I could give someone zero stars, I would. Unfortunately, I am obligated to give at least one star to this company.
I called Gigi but she was completely rude and unprofessional, as if she was doing me a favor or something. She basically acted like she was too busy to be putting up with my dog. When we couldnt figure out a good arrangement, she hung up on me mid sentence… She is definitely NOT somebody I could trust my dog with. Seemed super sketchy.

Contacted about pet sitting. Gigi was very unfriendly, unprofessional, and did not ask any questions that a concerned, knowledgeable or capable pet sitter would ask. She seemed to be in a huge hurry and unable to just say she needed to call me at a more convenient time for her. Also, I mentioned someone else I knew in a different area she didn’t cover and she wanted to charge me to refer me to another sitter that she looked up on the same site I found her at? No thank you! If she treats owners this way, how will she treat the pets?

Gigi is freaking awesome!
My two Aussies, who are usually pretty reserved with stangers, immediately felt at ease with Gigi. Not only that, but Gigi was comfortable around my two rambunctious guys as well.
Gigi watched my dogs for about 3 weeks back in November. I could tell they had a great time with her and her large yard. She worked hard to match my schedule with the dogs and was really responsive with texting and emailing updates. She really helped put my mind at ease when I was overseas.
When I came to pick up «my children» She ensured that they were run out in her backyard. This made my life so easy as I was extremely jet lagged.
I liked her so much, my dogs are going back in a few weeks.

I am so fortunate to have found Walk-​A-​Bout Dog Service — Gigi is THE BEST! She is so dedicated to the health, happiness and well being of the pets she sits for. Upon our initial meeting (at the time I had just moved to La Jolla from LA less than 2 weeks before meeting her and was leaving for 10 days), I was immediately put at ease. She is very conversational, a good listener, documents everything, continues her education in pet care and has an entire portfolio to share with you when being considered for your pet sitter.
From that first meeting, I gave her my spare key and asked her to keep it as I often travel for work or, if I’m stuck somewhere, I’ve always been able to call her last minute to check on my boys. Her other personal touch is the pictures & updates she always texts me when I’m out of town followed with a note for me when I’m home.
Gigi is a godsend!

Gigi took such great care of our 3 dogs (two chihuahuas and a lab)! She was so professional and organized, friendly and accommodating, and I left for my holiday vacation knowing they were in good hands. I never worried about them once. In fact, we will be using her services again next month for our next trip out of town.

When we moved to a new area, we were of course worried if we would be able to find a dog sitter with whom we would be comfortable leaving our 2 spoiled poms with. Gigi is just one of those «Dog People»…we felt comfortable with right away. I am just an occasional user, but it is wonderful to know we have someone we can count on and will be calling Gigi again just as soon as need comes up.
