Specialties

The Dent Devils Shop Specializes in the (PDR) Paintless Dent Repair methodology. Which means repairing dings and dents without paint or bondo fillers like a regular body shop do. The Second method is what Eddie came up with yours ago called the «Hybrid Repair Methodology». He combine the paintless dent repair method with regular body shop repair methods so we are able to repaint less of your car!

History

Established in 1996.

After originally retiring from 15 plus years of professionally doing body and paint. I started a mobile Detail and paintless Dent Repair company in East County under the name of The Detail Man. Then split the Detailing and Paintless Dent Repair part of the businesses around 2000. From 2001 to 2009 The Dent Devils operated in Pacific Beach on Grand Ave in a small house. From 2009 to 2010 we made the mistake of subleasing from a shop on 13th street. April of 2010 we opened our shop in Kearny Mesa and then doubled the shop size 2 years later. So as of May 2015 we are celebrating 5 years in this location.

Over the last 30 plus years in the auto body repair trade I have loved helping people and seeing their faces when they see my workmanship. I have always said if I became rich I still would do the same thing. Many times others in my trade have accused me of having an unhealthy obsession making perfect repairs or repairing dents that are not profitable. Which might just be the case but when you find something you truly love it’s not like your working in my opinion.

I hate to leave bad reviews and for the most part I just don’t go back to a business if I am unhappy with it but I decided to share my experience at this shop. 1st I called to see if I can get a quote for a minor dent I have in my passenger door caused by someone slamming their door to mine. He told me on the phone that it’s better to go in person to get a quote saying the repairs start from $ 85 so I decided to show him the car in person and I told him I’ll be going there. When I got there he saw me while walking towards another car and just said check in with a girl that was sitting in the corner. I filled a form and was right in front of him waiting for him to give me a quote, he just kept working on the other car not even acknowledging the fact that I was waiting for him so after a few mins I went back to the girl that I checked in with and asked how much longer it will be, she walked up to him in front of me to ask then he yells «I have to finish this car» so I said no problem I can come back cause I had to be somewhere and was afraid I would run late. When he heard me say I’ll come back he gets up, comes towards my car and starts looking at it and playing with the door… it took him 25 mins of talking to tell me that it will cost $ 500 to fix the 2 inch not very deep dent in my car. I told him I was expecting something around $ 100-​$ 150 then he says well maybe I can do it for $ 300-​$ 500 but it will be close to $ 500 and kept explaining to me why it’s complicated so I said thanks and left.
1st I was bothered with his attitude but maybe he had a bad day or a super busy one so I won’t judge him on that but I just had someone come to my place (who gave me an accurate quote over the phone with just a picture of the dent) and fixed the dent for $ 160!!! It looks great and he was super friendly, thats the reason I decided to leave this review cause dent devil’s quote didn’t make sense to me and I am glad I didn’t take my car there.

I went to this place for a small scratch on my car. The owner is very knowledgable and helpful. He fixed my scratch for free since it was very small and took him a couple of minutes.
I recommend dent Devils, they do a great job and very detail oriented.

Eddie’s paint less dent removal is awesome!
I got a door ding on my Q50 on the rear quarter panel right on the body line probably the worst spot since the factory placed a thick metal backing and insulation. I initially went to Bumper Doc and I was told by their Paint less ding specialist that it’s gonna need body shop work because the backside of the damage was in accessible. I was told that they would have to repainted rear of car and also the rear driver side door to match. Needless to say I was not gonna paint ¼ of my car for a ding the size of a quarter. Brought the car to Eddie he worked his magic and the spot looks perfect. Needless to say he saved me thousands of dollars and a trip to the body shop. His prices are reasonable. He’s an automotive enthusiast and he’s passionate about his work. I can tell he enjoys all vehicles and enjoys making them look their best. You can’t control the inconsiderate bastards that park around you. But you can pick the best professional to fix it. So bring your car to Dent Devils.

Fantastic work, took my 3 series beamer in today for work and after some paint less dent repair it was as good as new, great price and service to go with it, a real gem of a find based on a referral from a friend, way beyond my expectations, this place is a must before you go see any other body shop and get quotes way over the odds, can’t say enough about my experience, genuine craftsmanship.

Yes, Eddie is indeed all the great things the previous reviewers have said! He is the epitome of old-​time customer service while employing the absolute best and most up-​to-​date method (or a combination of methods) to give the best result. Eddie is willing to go the extra mile and then some, all the while thinking outside the box to fix things as best as he possibly can without getting into the «major money» category! Also, he is so reasonable that I agree with other reviewers that he should actually be charging more! We left our car with Eddie without a qualm. Every question, no matter how small, was answered. My opinion is that if you have any depressing dings that you wish would go away but you’re afraid it will cost too much, give Eddie a try. You might just be pleasantly surprised! (Note: Our car was the first car that we’ve bought in over 20 years (used 2009 Chevy HHR LT — black), so you KNOW we wanted this car to look it’s best for inspection by friends and family who were all STUNNED that we had finally bought a car made in this century!)

Eddie is truly a «Dent Removal Doctor.» Someone dinged my new BMW 328i convertible in the parking lot and I wanted it fixed ASAP; since I’m very meticulous when it comes to taking care of my car, just knowing there was a dent on my car was very stressful. So, I started looking online for a place to fix my car and came across Dent Devils. After reading the reviews and testimonials I knew this was the right place to get my dent removed. I texted Eddie for an estimate and he was responsive with a quote. Took my car to his shop, he assessed the damage, and assured me he could fix it with no problem. I went back to pick up my car and I couldn’t believe it… I was on cloud nine. The dent was gone as if it were never there. I give this place an A+ not just because he fixed my car flawlessly, but because Eddie doesn’t treat you like a number or a dollar sign, rather he treats you like family and makes you feel that your part of his team. Cleared one more scuff this time with great patience and honesty. Used the word honesty because he can demand me $$$, that’s how I was so badly determined to pay for it. But he made it very simple with his experience and made me mark him as the go to guy all the time.

Great service and price.
These guys did an excellent job on my MB 500 CLK. Gave me an honsest opinion on what I should fix and what I should not fix. I waited in a local bar about 100 yards away and work was completed in couple of hours. The crew did a greaqt job removing several dents from the hood and I’m pleased.

Eddie and his crew at the Dent Devils are INCREDIBLE at what they do, and they treat you like family. When I was in a minor collision, I showed up at Eddie’s place. He immediately helped me get the process moving along, and he even gave me a ride back to my work. Then, when the car was ready, he met me on a Sunday night at 9pm so I could get my car after returning from a weekend out of town. This allowed me to avoid renting a car the following Monday. He went out of his way at every turn to help me.
His skills in repairing damaged cars is amazing. He did a phenomenal job restoring my Subaru WRX. He used traditional repairs and paintless dent repair, basically utilizing whatever method he needed for each aspect of the repair. My car looks fantastic. He simply knows his stuff.
I would recommend Eddie at The Dent Devils to anyone needing body repairs from collisions. he is honest and incredibly responsive to your inquiries.

What an awesome experience I had. I called and sent Eddie pictures of a job previously butchered by someone else. In fact I had done exactly wad Eddie preaches against on his Facebook page.
Eddie warned me repeatedly that unless I repainted the two body parts that were messed up that I wouldn’t be happy. I was selling the truck and didn’t want to invest into the «right away to do it» and begged him to instead try and blend the paint. I was warned not to expect much.
When I came back to pick it up (the very next day) I was shocked. It looked brand new! I only spent about a hundred dollars too.
Thanks Eddie! This is a guy who loves making vehicles look great!

This place is great, the staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, and they take time to explain what will work best for vehicle. I was able to send picture of the damage on my vehicle before hand and they were able to give me a ruff estimate on how much they thought it would cost. Their is also great deli around the coroner that you can hang out and wait for your vehicle, and the food was good and friendly staff too.

Great work done on my brand new explorer by Eddie. He made sure I couldn’t see the unsightly dent that my «friend» put in on a recent road trip. Eddie was quick and very knowledgeable about how to attack my problem and gave me plenty of options to choose from. I picked him for my repair because he has years of experience and he also teaches people his craft which is how you know he is a master of dent removal. When he talks to you about the process it’s like he’s giving you a mini class. He also will let you watch him work which was really cool. They have helped me several times. I am going in for the third time today to have dents repaired on my hood. I could have sworn that this would need to be painted. However, they are just amazing and spent the extra time on it to really work out the dents. I have had paintless dent repair in the years past, but since I found this place in 2013, I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Someone dinged my Toyota Tacoma PreRunner. I called up Eddie. He did some work paintless dent repair (PDR) on my BMW M5 which included two door dings driver’s side door and a chip in the windshield.
I was very happy with the workmanship he did on it and called him again on the Toyota Truck. He does an exceptional job on the work as always. Very pleased that he took most of the dent out. It’s in a tough spot in the rear just under the tail light. You can’t even tell it had a ding. He explained to me about the dent and it’s tough to get at it.
Glad that he did the job. I wouldn’t take it anywhere else. It would have cost me more if I took it to a body shop. He is the man to see. Thanks and I really appreciate it Eddie for a job well done.

I am a Automotive Tech. in Kearny mesa area and my shop sometime get an offer for a Body job from customer (Our customer base is %70 Japanese). Because of Japanese, they have a really picky eyes as well as I have (I’m also Jappanese).
I have went there several times to have a Dent repair and a body work/​re-​paint. All work were WELL done and I have never have disappointed about their work.
That was a body work for a TOYOTA FJ Cruiser (Brand new car). that did not have a data for a «Color code» yet, because was too New. When body shop guy paints your car, needs a data that tells you how to mix and make a color for your car. It is really difficult to make a color without the data. Anyway he painted one time and did it again by «himself» because he did not satisfy. Color was perfectly matched!
Very impressed with their work .
I am a one of a Happy customer.

Redoing the bumper from a confrontation with an Angry Shopping Cart! Also removed a set of door dings.
This guy is the real deal. It is not a big shop, but the work is the best I’ve seen. The owner worked on my car and did more than he was paid to do by Allstate.
I worked with a guy named Eddie, who was very nice, and came across as someone who really pays attention to details. The Dent Devils, as it stands now is like a little «mom and pop store,» where the people know you and actually care about what’s going on. At least that was my experience.
Now my insurance company on the other hand, dropped the ball, left my car there a lot longer than in needed to be, and forced the poor guy to wait while they send an adjuster out, twice. Yada, yada, etc., etc. (I have to address that in another review). But the point of it is, that the owner Eddie, who my «old» insurance company referred me to, stood by me through all the calls, faxes and bs the insurance company threw at him for 20 days.
I really should buy the guy, lunch for all of the crap he had to deal with, and to top it off. He noticed a little ding in my rental and he pulled it for me in 5 minutes, while I was picking up my other car. Who freakin’ does that? Just a good dude, 5 STARS for sure!
