Still coming here 6 years later with the same Volvo! I joke i should have a frequent fixer card but that’s the price i pay for having a Volvo older than some of my friends. Despite that, and after all these years, I still feel that every service is fairly priced and explained to me; I’ve never felt cheated or persuaded into a repair i thought i didn’t need. Sean is very knowledgeable and provides awesome customer service with repairs always completed in a timely manner. This place has saved my Volvo from completely dying and i can’t recommend Sheen’s high enough!

Trustworthy, reliable and timely with very fair (and honest) pricing.
My family has been taking all of our cars to this shop from when I was a kid riding in the back of a van, and now I’m taking my own vehicle to Sheens. Sean and co. are always very clear about explaining what’s going on, their recommendations, and they give you a breakdown of all the expenses up front and explain each and every charge. If anything comes up, they will always call and let you know what’s going on and give you your options before they work on anything so there are never any surprises.
There might be places that can offer cheaper pricing, and yeah the dealership may give you a free car wash, but Sheen’s is the trusty mechanic your dad always told you was so important to have.

Sheens did my 100,000 mile timing belt, oil change, and several other maintenance services. They were much less expensive than the Honda dealer and even cheaper than Valvoline. Just recently, I had my brakes repaired and Master cylinder replaced. This was also reasonably priced. I am not sure if the cylinder had to be replaced, but then I am not an expert. However, the price was so reasonable, that if it didn’t have to be replaced, I wouldn’t feel like I had been ripped-​off. With prices that are definitely the best in town and great work (I have had no problems), and also great service, I think that Sheens is the best auto place that i have ever dealt with. BTW, they also service my wife’s car.

Even though we live out in Chula Vista now I still come out here knowing I’m gonna get the best of the best as promised and expected. NEVER have I had issues with my vehicles (Lexus & Benz) after coming back from this shop. They are simply amazing.

Sheen Auto Care has been very good to me. I have been taking my cars there for years and I can honestly say they want to do right by their customers. I have plenty of anecdotal stories of my experiences plus several from friends & family where customer service and quality of work have been proven over and over. Suffice to say once you get to know them they will get to know you and your auto. They work with you on the manufacturer preventive maintenance schedule and if your on a tight budget they give you a high priority list and can work out a schedule for when you can follow up.
Amenities: They have a lounge to wait with coffee, water, TV (Dish), DVD/​VHS player and Internet access.

This is a much overdue review
I got my car fixed here on the first try after failing at two other autoshops.
Sean and Paco found the issue on day 1 of inspection and was also able to help me acquire the part thru my insurance as he argued it was still part of my accident claim. I went to two repair shops prior to Sheen’s auto care and they found problems in completely different areas.
Sean does a very good job explaining what the shop has to do before you bring the car in; he explains as simply as he can to let the customer understand the issue and process. I am really happy with the transparency that he’s shown for my car repair.

I had cranking noise come out of the car. i told him specific cases for the noise, and after 30minutes, his mechanics found the problem. They realized that one of the bolts (a freaking small bolt) near the engine was loose so they went ahead and tightened the bolt. They showed me the actual problematic bolt and it was way inside the car where a flashlight was needed to light up between metal plates
I really don’t know how they were able to find that bolt, but i was impressed. +1 for this
After tightening, they just charged a diagnostics fee as this didn’t involve any repair work. another +1 for not having to find the need to argue the bill
My car was great afterwards. but a few days later, the cranking noise came up again so I called Shawn to ask him about it.
I took the car to the shop, and after about an hour, he found out that the subframe might be slightly bent and stressing the problematic bolt making it loose.
the subframe was indeed slightly bent, but not obvious to the normal eye. However the fact that he even considered that possibility tells me he’s been a mechanic himself for quite some time and he’s seen many type of repair cases. third +1
I was concerned with the potential cost of this part, but he tried his best to cut costs on my end; he told me sub-​frames are not bent easily unless something hard hits it, it should’ve been related to my accident from a year ago. He was able to cover the part thru insurance. fourth +1
After fixing, he charged me for labor/​diagnostics fee. I think we can all agree autoshops have a similar labor rate/​diagnostics fee, it’s just really hard to find an honest one that won’t take every opportunity to rack up the bill. fifth +1 for being a reliable autoshop
My car has been silent since. and Sheen’s auto care got rid of my daily worries.

I decided to take my car to this place instead of the one recommended by the car insurance company’as the damage was really extensive. Sean was really helpful and I’m so glad I chose Sheens’ instead. They were really helpful and worked in getting my car out of the tow yard and coordinating with the insurance company.

Ok, So the shop Manager emailed me back personally and apologized for his unprofessional attitude when I came to their shop the first time to have my car checked. He invited me to give them another try and promised they would take great care of me and my car — So, I’ll guess I’ll have to give them another try.

If you don’t know much about cars like I do, these guys will actually explain to you what needs to be done in a way you can understand. And they really care about making sure you are informed about everything before making a decision. They are very customer service oriented/​patient and do a great job on your car as well! I highly recommend this place!

About as good as it gets when it come to auto repair. I made an appointment to be towed here, and the tow-​truck driver told me I’d made a good choice. Fast, friendly, and positively no scamming.

I was referred to see Sean and Paco at Sheens Auto Care and have gone to them for all my autocare services since then. Sean is honest about what needs to be done and gets you the best parts and services for its price. My brother is a mechanic but lives far away and I always relay what im getting from this shop and he agrees with what they offer. They are so great there!

I took my 2004 Isuzu Rodeo into Sheens Auto with a bad alternator a few months ago, and also chose to have the timing belt replaced as part of the vehicle’s recommended preventive maintenance. Here are a few reasons why I think Sheens is better than most:
1) Sean was more than willing to accept work on my vehicle even though limited parts availability can make an Isuzu a bit of a challenge for any Service Manager.
2) The shop and yard are clean, not full of dead cars and junk parts. I see this as a good sign that they fix cars and get them back on the road. It’s a doctor’s office, not a morgue.
3) They payed attention to the details and diagnosed problems, instead of just rushing through the repair. I feel like the important ability to troubleshoot is becoming a lost art these days, but have faith in Sheens’ mechanics after my experience. Instead of just replacing the alternator, Sheens mechanics located the source of the oil leak that likely caused the alternator to fail.
4) Sean keeps it real and gives you all of the options. Most shops give you a list of everything that NEEDS to be done. Sean gives you a list of things that can be done, gives you time to weigh the options, and doesn’t make you feel guilty or dumb for choosing a less thorough option.
5) They were patient and did a good job of communicating status. One of the parts I needed took a couple of weeks to get. Sean took initiative to get me back on the road as quickly as he could, and picked up the phone to call me any time there was an update.
6) They make things right. I had to bring my car back in a week after the original repair, due to a faulty replacement part going bad. Sean handled the warranty work just as professionally and efficiently as he had handled the original repair.

This is the only place I will take my cars from here on out (I have two Fords). My wife has had negative experiences with nearly every mechanic she’s ever encountered. She took her car here by chance (because of a AAA tow) and immediately felt comfortable with Sean and how he goes about business. We both appreciate his expertise (he fixed issues on my car that 3 other mechanics could not) and his ability to communicate the issue when we don’t know much about cars. He has never been pushy, and has always made us feel that the decision of work to be done was completely ours. We will never take our cars anywhere else. You’ll get fair prices and customer service that simply can’t be beat. Can’t say enough good things about this place.

Once again, 100% pleased with my experience here. My husband also recently had some body work done after an accident and was 100% pleased as well. We recommend Sheen’s to everyone we know who wants a trustworthy mechanic (and who doesn’t??) Thanks Sean!

Fantastic auto service shop. The owner Tom is a solid stand-​up guy, and Sean at the front desk is also great.
They are dependable, trustworthy, and great mechanics as well.
I have recommended them to several friends, and endorse them for everyone.

Can’t speak enough good about the boys over at Sheen’s Auto. I’ve been taking my car to them for a little under a year now, but with jobs ranging from simple oil changes to replacing motor mounts on my RSX. I really value their service because they use OEM parts, will use parts you bring in (though these do not have the warranty offered from the parts they provide, which is more than fair) and to receive what I feel is dealership-​worthy maintenance for less than dealership price is a win-​win! Sean (operating manager) is a great guy, and as previous posters have stated, they will let you know what’s going on with your car, without pressure to make the move. Very honest, very fast, and my car rides like I just took it off the lot! As Sheen’s was passed to me (by word of mouth) I too have referred people there, and will continue to do so! Fret not, check ‘em out!

When searching for a good mechanic, price was not my first and most important factor. It was quality of work, honesty, timeliness, and courtesy. Sheen’s Auto Care was top notch in all of those areas. Worth spending the extra bit to get what you’d expect and more from an auto mechanic. I’m banking on them being consistent with their service too… not what what I got from last mechanic of many years.

Great service, reasonable prices. He saved me like 70 bucks by suggesting an aftermarket side mirror (damn you drunk OB hooligans). He offered me a couple different suggestion if I wanted to match the black side mirror to my grey car. I was referred by a friend and now I’m paying it forward. They are honest, informative and fast. Have taken my Volvo there for repairs and service. Have always left happy. I may have paid a touch more than shops closer to my residence but I know the guys at Sheens will back up their work. Case in point. Heater core went out and I didn’t feel like getting the inside of the car all mucked up a second time so I took in to the shop. Dropped off in the morning and got a call around noon saying they were done.
A week goes by, I’m in Chula Vista on a Saturday morning and the core decides to blow up. AAA will only cover towing for a set amount of miles and they are outside the coverage. Sheen’s covers the cost of the tow, orders the part (warranty) and has me back on the road again Monday afternoon. Sadly, that core blows approximately one week later as well. this time I’m closer to the shop and AAA makes the tow. Same case. Part ordered and car done by noon. Turns out the batch of heater cores coming from the manufacturer was defective. All of this was done with no extra charges for labor or materials. They have since done my PCV system and timing belt.
Highly recommend this establishment!
