The Beating Heart Center is a training center that teaches CPR/AED and First Aid for Community, Corporations and Government Agencies.

History

Established in 2011.

Jeff Guernsey thought up the idea of The Beating Heart Center in 2009 when he was going to medical school. At the time he was currently working with Sharp Hospital as a CPR and ACLS instructor. In November of 2011 he was handed equipment that got him started to set up a training Center and officially became The Beating Heart Center on January of 2012 under the products of American Safety and Health Institute and Medic First Aid. Jeff has been a CPR instructor for the American Heart Association since 2000 and still currently holds that instructor status.

I started teaching CPR and ACLS for the US Navy in 2000, just before deploying to Iraq for Operation Iraqi enduring Freedom. I was overseas for over a year and was injured there. When I got back to the States I did not know what to do cause I was in the process of getting out of the military. I recieved an offer to teach CPR with UCSD while still in the service. I later taught CPR and ACLS for Sharp hospital in 2003. I worked with them while attending school until 2011. I saw how Sharp Hospital would make learning CPR for its students difficult and in some cases make students cry. I did not like this way of teaching. I wanted to have a company that makes learning CPR fun easy to understand and even an experience. So in 2011 I started The Beating Heart Center and I plan to make this grow to show that learning first aid, CPR and even the more difficult program ACLS, can be fun and a great experience.
