I had a great experience with Claude and his partner at SimpleFloors. They installed carpet upstairs and laminate downstairs. The price was under Home Depot and Empire Today who both gave high estimates. Completely happy I picked SimpleFloors. Thanks again, great work.

I was happy to find this place I got the impression the owner cared about his business. He does his own measurements etc. I handled everything from consult, to scheduling to payment etc. the workers he uses suck. No one called me to say when they were going to show up, than the 5 days it took them, they showed up at odd hours, like 11am or later, than would sometimes stay until after 7, which was super stressful with two small kids who sleep around 7. I try to communicate some type of schedule, also told them that I don’t like leaving my house unlocked for hours until they show, dropping my son of at school etc. the owner. He never called me again, see how the work was coming along. Didn’t call after to check my satisfaction. The crew seemed sexist and only really respected my husband. As far as the work, could have been better. They used a piece of damaged wood, right in the most obvious area. I had them redo the base boards, they were cut wrong. They don’t grout the tile under the fridge, my husband happened to notice and we had them do that. The transition from wood to tile was absolutely horrible, so they did that over. I tried contacting the owner, he didn’t respond, only when my husband called or walking into the store did he have anything to say. Anyway, I’m very disappointed with this business.

Dear JC Flooring Owners,
This is my final attempt to reconcile our differences without legal action. If you are unable or unwilling to compensate me based on the contract that was drafted on JC Floorings behalf, I will be obligated to seek restitution legally. I have sought legal council and am prepared to report the unethical practices of JC Flooring to the California Labor Board.
I hoped that by me resigning peacefully and respectfully we would not have to come to this. Unfortunately due to the severity of your negligence and the denial and or refusal of your obligation to compensate me accordingly, I am obligated and left with with no choice but to proceed with legal representation on my behalf if full compensation is not given.
I, Jeremy Morris was hired by JC Flooring as a commissioned employee in which by California law makes me an exempt employee. I was mandated by management to clock in and clock out daily basis. On multiple occasions I was verbally reprimanded by Claude Moise when failing to do so. In addition, my timecards were unlawfully altered by management to reflect breaks that were not honored and purposely recorded by management with intent to deceive California Labor Codes. This was done without any verbal or written notice by myself.
Approximately 20% of my working days with JC Flooring, I was not provided an adequate meal breaks mandated by California Labor Code Section 512 which states that… «In California, an employer may not employ an employee for a work period of more than five hours per day without providing the employee with a meal period of not less than thirty minutes, except that if the total work period per day of the employee is no more than six hours.»
In addition to violation of California Labor Law, there were violations in my employment compensation contract that was not up help by JC Flooring. I was denied and never compensated with the 1%over ride on all employees sales. This was never agreed upon verbally or contractually to be in-​leu of a bonus program but agreed upon as regular pay on employees performance other than myself. Any and all bonuses were based on and verbally stated by Claude Moise as compensation for working diligently to improve store operations, merchandising and the ability to rebrand the store in a positive aspect through social media sites… Specifically Unilocal. (When I joined the company Simple Floors had a 1.5 star rating. I was able to obtain a 4 star Unilocal rating within 9 months before my resignation. Something Thomas, Joelle and Claude were unable to achieve before hiring myself.)
I am requesting in this final attempt before legal action will be taken to be compensated for my 1% override which is in my employment contract. If unable to comply I will seek legal restitution for moneys owed, lost wages as well as any legal fees I may incur.
Just think about this businesses practices before deciding to purchase flooring for your future project.

About 7 years ago my wife and I completed a large remodel on our home in Rancho Bernardo. Part of that project was to install hardwood flooring. After diligently shopping around checking references, BBB, etc. we selected Simple Floors. The work they performed was exemplary and the product looked as beautiful after 7 years as it did the first week we installed it. Now some 7 years later we sold that home and purchased another. The first call we made was to Simple Floors to see if they had the same product (SKU) we originally installed. Sure enough they did and after shopping around a bit we selected the very same product we installed 7 years ago in our last house. We also ordered 5″ baseboards for the entire house.
We worked with Tom at Simple Floors who was a genuine pro and a pleasure to work with. Responsive. Knowledgeable, and downright likeable. Tom assigned Mike M. and his crew to do the install. Upon removal of the carpet we discovered that the underlying concrete slab was raised about ¾″ in the NW corner of the living room in an area about 5′ x 10′. Mike and his crew tackled the difficult area, which required two solid days of concrete grinding. When they were done it was perfectly flat, smooth as a baby’s bottom and made for a flawless floor install. My wife and I could not be more delighted at the professionalism, extraordinary workmanship and the attention to the fine details displayed by Mike, John and JP. These guys are craftsmen in every sense of the word! When they were finished, they cleaned both the inside and the patio area (where they had been cutting) and hauled out every last scrap of wood and debris. The floor and baseboards are phenomenal. I cannot stress enough how delighted we are with the entire experience! I gave Tom permission to use me as a reference if he desired to do so. Thank you guys!

Jeremy Morris is great. Simple Floors is great. Super honest and as matter of fact. This place covers high end as well as a rental property get it done option. I will return to the store.

Our wood floors project for our living room and hallway (about 500 square feet) was easy from beginning to end. Jeremy came out to our home at a time that was convenience on my end, took measurements, described the process and told us he would have an estimate by the next day, which he did. The price was fair and we scheduled the install for about a week later. The contractor, J. Finity Floors arrived as scheduled, and did excellent work. The two installers, Jesse and Jeremy were very professional, friendly, and efficient. They did a great job and were very detail oriented. They finished the project in the amount of time they had predicted and left our property spotless. I wish I hadn’t waited so long to complete this project! Thanks for a great job!

I feel it necessary to repost my review as I was in store today finalizing my project and realized my previous review had been filtered. How discouraging!!! It is unfortunate so I insist on this repost as potential customers looking for flooring should definitey make it a point to stop into Simple Floors. If you do not, you will absolutely miss out on great products, pricing and without a doubt excellent service!!!

Drove up and down Mira Mar Road looking for the best deal. After stopping at almost every flooring store feeling ready to give up we stopped at Simple Floors, not only were their prices so affordable, but their customer service was exquisite! Tom even drove to our new home on his day to measure the place and recommended so many ideas that saved us lots of money. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Simple Floors!

You can’t get any better customer service than with Simple Floors. Thomas is so honest, genuine, and up-​front… he truly cares and gives his candid opinion when asked. Clyde is exceptionally nice and customer service oriented as well. The whole team at Simple Floors made my life so easy. I highly recommend them. Their prices are awesome, too, and installation was great and quick.

2 years ago we had teak floors installed /​glued down in our entire home. we had to have extensive tile removed, and they did a fantastic job.
it still looks beautiful, no problems at all.
Thomas and Claude worked with us for a long time before I was willing to commit to such a big project. They were patient, and we couldn’t be happier.

We had an excellent experience with Simple Floors. Apparently the bad reviews on here were from BEFORE the new owner ship.
We stumbled upon the showroom since they were one of the few tile places open on a Saturday afternoon when we were driving by. We are so glad we did. Thomas welcomed us warmly and pointed us to what we were looking for. He was very nice, a non-​pressure type of salesman, and accommodating. He even went above and beyond by offering to drop by our place (not far) with the sample, since they didn’t have one to give or loan out of that particular tile, and wait in his car while we looked at it in our home. We took him up on it (twice) and there was never pressure dealing with him and our order. He was very patient in waiting on us to get information back to him to place the order and was very prompt with his communications and getting things done. Very professional, kind, efficient, and no pressure. Thomas takes pride in his work and customer satisfaction with a smile on his face. He (and Claude) were a pleasure to work with and we highly recommend them. Also, the product we purchased is PERFECT for what we wanted and are so excited about our new flooring. It makes it even nicer to have a great memory of the process of finding it and making it all happen with a great team of people. :)

With so many flooring companies to choose from we felt overwhelmed as we began our search. We literally stumbled upon simpleFLOORS while shopping for a Murphy Bed. Tom was extremely helpful, low-​key, and professional. We selected some samples, he came to our home, took measurements and gave us a very reasonable quote within hours. Within a week we have our new floors installed and couldn’t be happier.

We recently opened up our fifth store in San Diego on Miramar Road. Needed a quality floor that was going to make our showroom shine. Claude was professional and a pleasure to work with. We were so thrilled with how smoothly the transaction and installation went as well as the final product! We would recommend using them to anyone!

We went to small claims court over our flooring issue. We won. They took the longest time to return is our money per the legal contract. It arrived on the last day before they would have action taken against them by the court.
We now have our new floors in, purchased from another company. Who knew the process should be as easy as it was with someone else!
Do your due diligence before making a purchase here. Make sure everything is written on the contract, EVERYTHING. This way you’ll know they are responsible for what they do when you make your purchase.
Ask questions about the installation and who it is doing the work. Whether the store insures their work or if they are independent contractors. If they’re independent, make darn sure you’ve got a contract with them too.

Wide selection, clean and organized show room, great customer service. Thomas was my sales representative and he was friendly and knowledgable. We did not use them for installation, but had we not already had someone we probably would have. We went to a few places and were over whelmed but with Simple, it was… simple!

I’ll start by admitting that I’m a bit particular. I tend to hold businesses to high standards because to be just «Good» is an expectation to stay in business.
I stopped by Simple Floors with my wife after we had purchased our first home. We had seen a few other places on Miramar and had an idea for the type and color of the hardwood flooring that we liked. We were greeted by Tom who was especially helpful and knowledgeable. He was able to point us to the type of flooring that was right for us and able to answer all of our questions.
I mentioned to him that I had seen some poor reviews of Simple Floors on Unilocal and he was able to put me at ease by explaining that those reviews were under the previous management. I’ve heard this story before so we dug a little bit deeper into how he could guarantee good service and product.
Once we knew that the product that we were looking to purchase was of good quality and fairly priced, Tom gave us confidence that we could trust Simple Floors by guaranteeing that he would personally oversee the installation of our floors.
When it came to installation, Tom had put an experienced and thorough team on the job. We had a tight timeline and, even with some unexpected obstacles, the job was finished on time with exceptional results.
The floors and baseboard that we had installed look incredible. Tom and his team followed through on their word and delivered spectacular results.

I wanted to start this review by saying that the end result was good. We got the natural strand woven bamboo flooring we wanted and it’s been a few months now and we love it. However, the process to reach the end result was pretty bad, hence the 3 stars.
We bought a house 90 miles away from this location and even though there’s a simpleFLOORS store in Orange, we came here because my in-​laws had a great experience with them. We came in and Tom helped us. Our invoice showed the correct flooring but when Tom put the order into the computer, he had to use the SKU for carbonized bamboo because the one for ours wasn’t showing up (we wanted the new 5 inch width that wasn’t coming out for another month) but he assured us that he would go back to change the order when the SKU was available. Tom also told us that the flooring would be delivered on a Wednesday and that we would get a call on the Thursday before to confirm the delivery.
On the Tuesday before the delivery date, we still hadn’t gotten a call from them so we called to ask if it would still be delivered the next day. Tom said that we didn’t confirm the delivery but we told him that no one ever called us. He apologized and said it would be delivered the following week. It wasn’t a problem and it was delivered the following week.
That night we brought in a few of the 50 pound boxes into the house from the garage and decided to open 1 up just to make sure it was right. We open the box and there’s the carbonized bamboo (the SKU he used to put in our order until the natural bamboo in 5 inch width was available). We end up opening another 2 boxes just to make sure that they were all wrong instead of just that 1 box, and they were all wrong. We call Tom and after asking us to make sure we didn’t order the carbonized, he apologizes and made arrangements for the carbonized bamboo to be picked up. He asked if we could wait until the following week for the natural bamboo to be shipped to us because getting a truck to deliver it when it’s not on their usual once a week schedule would be very expensive for them. We agreed that was fine and he told us «dinner’s on me» and said he would send us a gift card.
When the flooring arrived, it finally was the right one. But, that gift card he promised us never came. I don’t care that we didn’t get a gift card because in the end, we got what we wanted and we’re very happy with our flooring. I am, however, annoyed at the fact that he said he would send one but never did. When we order the same flooring for the other half of our house, we will NOT be going through them.

Floors are cheap if you are looking to save, but you get what you pay for. 2 — 5% of the boards are warped, or de-​laminating. Make sure you factor that in when ordering. Also the wood is coming from china and dirt cheap, its not worth more than 3 $ /​sq ft.
Replacing individual boards will be hassle with their customer service so don’t attempt it.
They messed up my stair nosings order (from another company not from them, so expect the stain and finish to be different) the stain was not even close. After a second order, they had it delivered to a wrong address.
After spending months waiting for these to finish my floors, there was no compensation.
Unprofessional and crappy service. Don’t waste your time or money.
