Screenmobile

I have only written 4 positive reviews ever and this is my first, and I hope, only negative one. But I would want to know from others if they were treated this way.
Darrick, the owner of SCREEN MOBILE, showed up and after I showed him the first screen said: well, I hope you just want the screen itself replaced because I don’t have that kind of material with me. I said: then why did the woman who made the appointment ask me what color frame I wanted? So, I said ok, just replace the screen itself.
Then I showed him the other windows and he started pulling out a screen that is definitely hemmed in by bushes and branches. While he’s pulling out the screen he’s saying he can’t replace it because the branches are in the way. I asked if I could hold the bushes and branches away from the screen so he could try to put a new screen in. More than once I said: can we at least try? By this time he has completely pulled the screen off, broken the frame and torn the screen, throwing it on the patio from inside the bedroom. He still said he couldn’t replace it.
So I asked why he tore the screen out and destroyed it and what am I supposed to do now? He said it was already destroyed. I said it had one small bend in the frame at the bottom and that’s all. The screen was secure in the window frame and serving its purpose before he started knocking it out.
By now, I’m upset and I went outside to pick up the screen and put it in the trash can. When I came back in the house, seconds later, he had run out the door, jumped in his truck and left.
So now I have a window with no screen and he left the other screen lying on the floor.

Darrick came to our condo, measured the windows, went to his truck, made the screens and installed them perfectly in less than 45 mins! Cost no more than bad screens from Ace that we had before we discovered this convenient and professional service. Very Happy!

When our dog when barreling through our screen door and broke the frame in half we went to Home Depot and got a replacement. Two months later our dog did the same thing. After shopping around for a heavy duty screen at home improvement stores we realized maybe it was time to call a pro. I was driving on the 5 freeway and passed a trailer with a Screen Mobile logo on it. I decided to call and sure glad I did. Darrick arrived on time for our appointment and had the solution we were looking for. He suggested his heavy duty custom made screen with a pet guard and per screen material. I got to say this screen wasn’t anything I had seen in any store. Our dog tried to run through it the day after Darrick installed it with no avail. This thing is bullet proof! Thanks again Screen Mobile and Darrick! I would definitely use them again.

Darrick promised installation on Friday and didn’t show up. Instead his office called to schedule one full week later. I disagreed and now Darrick is sending e-​mails threatening a lawsuit. He also said on the phone that he has been in court with clients many times.
Update. We had our arguments with Darrick back and forth. Ultimately though he proved to be a man of integrity and honesty. Thus I update my rating to 5 stars for his company.

The «screen guy» (Darrick) was awesome! He arrived with his truck and all his supplies in tow, and was able to replace all my screens in one visit! He even had heavy duty screens installed on the windows the kitties like best. Who knew! Darrick was efficient, on time, and respectful of my busy schedule. I would definitely recommend him!

I recently had to replace one screen on a rental property at a condominium complex with adobe color window and screen frames. I was told by another large screen and glass replacement company they only carried the standard silver, bronze and white frames and I would have a difficult time replacing this color, unless of course I was replacing a lot of screens and they would special order this color. I should of called Darrick at Screenmobile first, he had the color in stock and I had the new screen within the week.

Just had Screenmobile out to fix two screens and build two new frames. Thought the price was very reasonable, they called the day before to confirm appt., showed up on time, quick, careful in my home; overall, good experience.

This is the second time I’ve had Screenmobile come to my home. I was glad to see Darrick again as he did my previous screen door installation. I have them repair a retractable screen I had installed by someone else. I was thrilled because I thought I would have to order a new retractable screen door entirely. That is what the previous company told me. Not only was the existing door able to be repaired, but it was handled right on the spot.
In addition to the repair I asked for a quotation on a retractable screen for our front door. I thought it would take several weeks, but the leadtime is pretty short. In addition there was one more door I had wanted to get done however due to the door type it required a retractable again. This was becoming costly but Darrick was able to work out a scenario that saved us money. I thought it was brilliant and very customer focused. Because of the value he placed on customer satisfaction, I will continue to use them in the future for any repairs or new screen doors needed. I will also refer him to all my friends!

We had our whole house rescreened. Great customer service, products and installation!
The Bottom Line: We would call them again for screens.

GREAT SERVICE! First of all they found a way to schedule me in, in a pinch, as we were leaving town and had renters coming, and they were booked out for a week. Im so bad with names but the gentlemen arrived on time at 7 am and told me it would be an hour or less as indicated on the phone, but when he was done in 35 minutes I wasn’t complaining. The sliding screen door he installed is amazing and we can’t get over how easy it slides and locks. The Home Depot screen he replaced was constantly getting jammed and the locking mechanism broke twice in the year we had it. We definitely don’t mind spending more to get a much higher quality door that is made on-​site to fit our opening and not a one size fits all, adjust it yourself, from a big box store. Additionally not only did our dog «not bother him» too much, he gave him some love and we could actually leave him out during the install. Very personable and professional, thanks Screenmobile!

Darrick arrived a little early for a 9:30 appt. I was not able to take his calls that started at 9:18. At 9:29 he knocked at the door visibly upset that I hadn’t answered my phone. Sorry, dude — I work at home and I was on a call. I was ready at the scheduled time!
Darrick was driving a truck and trailer and also visibly upset that there wasn’t room to park it in front of my house. I noticed another review mentioned issues parking the truck and trailer so perhaps this should be discussed when scheduling?
The screens Darrick made are fine. I had 5 screens and it turned out 2 couldn’t be made because my window is old and funky. When the bill came it was for all 5 screens. When asked why there was a charge for the 2 screens that weren’t made, Darrick produced another bill from his pocket for 3 screens. I’ll let you draw your own conclusions but in my book he tried to pull a fast one.
Not a bad service if you have room to park a large truck and trailer at your house. Definitely check your bill closely!

Screenmobile replaced several screens in difficult to reach area in a condo complex in La Jolla. They were on time (early even!) and efficient. Reasonably priced, I really appreciated the quality service. I recommend them.

Called to schedule an appointment to get some work done on the back patio screen door in my condominium as our HOA requires us to use to ScreenMobile for our screen doors. Was told that only available appointment in our area would be on Tuesday between 10:30am and 11:30am. Left work at 10am waited until 12pm didn’t hear anything from the company.
Called and was told I would get call back by the guy that’s supposed to do the work. Some guy named Derrick calls back and says he doesn’t have space to park his truck with trailer and simply hangs up! WTF! Go outside and see 5 parallel parking spaces in a row (enough to fit a semi truck) in front of the building open. Double WTF! Call Derrick back explain there is a huge space open in front of our building for him to park his truck and trailer and he says «too late I’ve moved onto another job I can refer you to another company.» This was at 12pm and he was supposed to be here at 11:30am. Triple WTF!
Worst. Customer. Service. Ever. Don’t use these guys unless you want your time wasted by people who don’t even bother to call you tell you they don’t plan on showing up for the job you scheduled with them to do.
And as for our HOA I already called our HOA president to see about changing our screen company…

Needed to get a couple window screens replaced for my house so I called Screenmobile. Much nicer screens then the ones in my current house and the service was great! Will definitely use them for future screen needs and I highly recommend them to everyone.

We have a beach rental that needed all the screens replaced. After trying to reach other vendors, I was recommended Screenmobile.
They responded immediately and coordinated the installs with our renter. Great quality and customer service. I would recommend highly!

He came to the house a little early, and i LOVE that. had everything done in no time, and was very nice & professional. His work is beautiful! Definitely will keep them on file!

Screenmobile replaced the screen on my patio door a year ago.
They used their special heavy-​duty pet screen.
I have 3 cats that claw & climb it regularly and it is still like new.
I’ll be having them over again to install they same type of screen on my bedroom window that the cats sometimes jump up against.
The installer was efficient & courteous.
I consider their product an excellent value and highly recommend Screenmobile — especially for pet owners.
