San Diego Small Moves

I love these guys! Hired them again for a local move in November. They made it as fast and efficient as possible. Two guys came and they were super professional and very nice young men. I really appreciated how hard they worked to make my move as smooth as possible. I bought them lunch but they wouldn’t take a break, they just kept on working until the job was finished. Thank you for your hard work guys! I have recommended them to several friends.

They called and asked if they could come early — what?!? How often does that happen? Two guys showed up (Kevin and George) who were strong, efficient and helpful. They finished the job in record time. Their rates are extremely competitive and I would recommend them highly for any «small move» you may have in mind. It’s not often you can confidently recommend someone, but these guys do the job they’re hired for, and we’re delighted with the results. Moving? Give ‘em a call at (619) 980‑2001.

By far — the smoothest and cheapest move I have ever had! Escondido to Hillcrest: $ 285 for three hours of their time — and some packing materials. Ken was extremely helpful in the planning process, and they were available to move me within the first time frame I provided. Kevin and Victor showed up on time and were beyond fantastic! I even got a follow-​up text the night of the move to make sure I was satisfied. When I move again, I will most definitely call SDSM!

I found these guys while looking for a company with a smaller (16ft) truck to get up a tight and steep driveway. Kevin and George arrived and did a great job completely filling the truck. They navigated an uphill driveway at our new house with ease, unloaded, and we’re completely done in less than 5 hours. Thanks for your help guys!

I had a small 2 bedroom apartment that needed a move in town. The two guys that showed up were professional and respectful. Everything was moved carefully and in a very timely manner. Even with 2 drop off locations, the move still took less time than expected. I would highly recommend them for in town moves.

Victor and Kevin were the best! They came perfectly on time and did the job super quickly, efficiently, and carefully. They were very courteous and professional!

Company was a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. All my items were properly taken care of and the lifting I did have to do after they left was minimal (totally my fault, i wasn’t done packing when they arrived), next time I’m definitely paying to have them pack too! 2 movers were efficient and courteous, they had all the proper tools to disassemble my furniture. I especially loved that they were willing to work with my desired schedule even though it was last minute.

These men were wonderful to work with! They were fast, careful, and efficient. They kept the time to what they estimated. I hope I don’t have to move again soon but if I do I will use them.

I appreciated the feed-​back and follow-​up of Ken, to ensure that the moving team was on-​time and ready to go, with a clear understanding of what to expect. This is an update to say I received my check for damages. I wish this could have been a better experience because I don’t like giving bad reviews, but I think honesty is the best policy.

Just moved with these guys and they were great!
They were very courteous and professional — and they hustled! I’ve never seen movers move so fast.
They did a great job protecting my furniture and packed a whole lot into a 16′ truck.
The items were delivered safely and set up at my requested locations within the house.
My move consisted of mostly large, bulky items. I will need an additional move of smaller items and boxes and will schedule these guys again.
I also believe the price to be competitive and fair.

The guys that moved us were very nice and the service was mostly good. Just a couple of minor issues that would make me hesitate to use this service again. First of all, they were over an hour late for the appointment. I wasn’t in a rush, so this wasn’t really a huge deal but could have been stressful if I was on a tighter schedule. Second, they didn’t have the tools necessary to take my bed frame apart. It’s from Ikea, so I would expect them to be prepared for that since its a popular brand. And it’s been moved in the past by other companies without any issues. So I had to go back later, get the necessary tools, take it apart and move it myself. That was a little bit frustrating since I obviously needed a place to sleep the night of the move. Finally, my couch would not fit up the stairwell in the new place. The solution would have been to get it up on the truck and hoist it over my balcony (which has been done by other movers in the past) but the owner refused to allow the movers to try that. He said it would require an extra person and that they could set up an appointment at a later time to do that. It seemed to me like they were just looking for a way to make some extra money, since we had a bunch of people with us who were willing to help them with it. So we had to leave the couch in the garage, leaving us without any furniture to sit on for the time being.
Overall, I would recommend this company if your move is fairly small. But bigger items seem to be a bit more problematic for them to handle, and they don’t really seem prepared for items like beds and larger couches. They were very nice and courteous though.

This was a perfect experience. We had a small move. The owner answered the phone on the weekend and set up the time and the cost. They showed up right on time and were very professional. It is a pleasure doing business with people who do things the right way.

Gave a good rate but had better rates without any damage. If only I had known…
I have no idea whether they have insurance. They will not furnish it to me. In their terms and conditions sent to me prior to the move it states all is included in one rate and they will carefully pack and shrink wrap what is needed and will be careful to load or not load stuff that needs special attention.
What followed was 2 very expensive and large paintings pierced and ripped. I believe they spent and charged me twice the amount because of their attempts to hide the scrapes, pierces, and rips. They also pierced caning in a vintage chair and seemed unaware of how to pack and unload stuff in a make sense order. The two paintings when they could maneuver them escaping my watch I appeared. Thay slammed them together backwards and slapped another undamaged painting on top of it. I had no idea they were damaged but did tell them to take it easy.
Their response via e-​mail.
«Unfortunately that is the maximum I am able to offer. Perhaps you have a counter offer in the ball park. Any other methods you pursue will ultimately end up a waste of time and not yield any results. In other words we would just file bankrupt before handing over thousands of dollars. We are an LLC so that is how that scenario would end.»
They offered me $ 200 for the damage for two large originals post modern painting by listed artists. This would cover only the extra time they took to move that seemed was due to watching when me or my fiancé were around to sneak thes items in the house.

They moved me to La Habra (N.Orange County) from San Diego. They were very efficient & courteous. The Mngr. (Ken) was very detailed & concise when explaining to me on phone & thru our emails what & how they can do for my move. Yet, the arrangements were very clear & understandable for me and my family. His crew was also right on track with our expectations. Very reasonably priced as well; no games-​They took a whole lot of anxiety and stress out of the equation for us. Definitely will be using them on any future moves for us or suggestions for our friends!

I would recommend Small Moves anytime… Ken was great and prompt when scheduling me… Even though it was Valentines Day… Thanks Ken… The 2 men that came and helped were SO friendly. I would highly recommend San Diego Small Moves for your next move. Danny and Josh were awesome and very accommodating. They moved everything quickly from my old place to my new place. I am very pleased with my experience. When I move again, I will definitely use this company!

What a shame. These people made a very stressful situation a lot more so.
I needed to move my fridge from one kitchen space to another, I explained I needed them there at a specific time and that a ‘window’ or being late was not going to work, since I’d read previous reviews.
Ken assured me that they would make sure they were there at the time specified, and I would be the first stop.
My move was scheduled at 10.15 and no-​one replied to calls or emails. Finally I got a call at 11am that the mover would be there in around half an hour. I told him not to bother since I found someone with a truck that could help me.

Great service! Friendly guys! No hassles at all and took great care of our furniture! Highly recommend!!! Very reasonable rates too!
