Two Brothers Moving

This may be one of the most unprofessional companies I have ever seen. Careless handling of our belongings lead to several damaged items with no compensation. I think the owner Jack is mentally unstable. He has verbally assaulted both my husband and my 80 year old mother for no reason. It was scary. We are currently proceeding against him in small claims court.
BEWARE!

They are the most unprofessional moving company in the world. They are NOT piano movers as they claim. We had them move a piano 6 feet from carpet onto a new wood floor. We supplied the felt pads and wheel protectors to protect the new floor. They only used the wheel protectors and then took (stole) the felt pads. Too make matters worse, they ended up asking some of my floor installers for help moving the piano. We had left a check for them for $ 150.00 as my wife had to run out for an emergency doctors appt. (it took them about 10mins. to move the piano). Then they demanded CASH. He claims he told my wife cash only, but he never said anything about cash until after the move. I called him to ask about the missing felt pads I had supplied that he didn’t use and then he ended up getting upset, calling my wife a lair and then called me profanities. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

These guys were awesome! I just needed help unloading my moving (Uhaul) truck. Jack and his professional crew of three guys carefully and thoughtfully moved my stuff into my new place. Nothing broken, scratched or missing. Everyone was professional, efficient and courteous. Will definitely hire them again!

If the owner Jack hadn’t been so un-​accomodating with his feeble explanation on the final charges, I would’ve given them five stars. First the positives: despite my feelings concerning the owner’s business ethics, I’ve rarely seen a crew work so tirelessly and maintain a very peaceful and highly positive attitude to make us feel completely accommodated. Despite your best efforts — you’re never quite ready to move. But these guys never even gave us a dirty or frustrated look. Never.
The first phase included three movers with Jason heading the team followed by the second-​in-​charge John. They had a young man with them — I don’t recall his name. I personally asked Jack to send Jason and John back for our second phase due to our utter satisfaction with them. Again, just flat-​out phenomenal the second time!
Jason is strong as an ox. Seriously. And, they worked without breaks or lunch.
Now, for the negative part. I was told by Jack an hourly quote that was honored on both occasions. I was also told that if his guys had to travel 20 mins from one doorstep to the next, he doubled that time. I assumed that paid for the truck’s gas. Wrong. When the truck pulled up with all of our contents after an 18 minute drive, Jason told me that there was also a $ 75 fee for gas. I was a little hot and asked to speak with Jack. I explained that doubling of time (@$ 105 per hour for three guys) should be plenty sufficient for gas. But — he went on a rant basically telling me it’s his policy for a minimum charge of $ 75 for gas. I tried to explain that it was about 8 – 10 mile drive and $ 75 was excessive, again, all he could was to explain over and over and over again that it was a minimum charge.
All I can say is to go over pricing ahead of time with this owner. It’s too bad because otherwise, I would’ve given him five stars.

Two Brothers Moving was friendly, courteous and careful, right up until something went wrong. Then the owner became hostile and abusive. A bungee cord in their truck broke loose and damaged an $ 800 glass tabletop. The foreman was very apologetic, and the owner assured me that they would make it right. They sent it to a glass shop who TRIED to fix it, but did a terrible job. When I called Jack, the owner, he told me «that’s the best I can do» and offered me $ 80 for the $ 800 glass top. I told him that wasn’t satisfactory, and then I said something (not sure what) that caused him to come completely unglued. He started cursing me, tole me the $ 80 offer was off the table, than called me every name in the book, including a mother**ker. My drill sergeant didn’t use language like that. I hung up the phone.
USE THESE FOLKS AT YOUR OWN RISK! As long as nothing goes wrong, you’ll be happy. If something does, not so much.

IMHO I believe this is a FAKE piano moving company which only «cherry picks» the easy jobs. Based on how my call with them went I WONDER if they are only interested in moving your entire home ALONG with a piano AND that piano MUST be an easy move into a detached home, with wide door openings and hallways and the piano is to be placed on the first floor.
REAL piano moving companies don’t balk at the first sound of any difficulty in regards to a piano move. I phoned this company and the «gent» on the phone was extremely short with me and borderline rude (depending on your perspective). It was crystal clear that my smaller «inside» job was of no real interest to him.
Unlike most REAL piano moving companies he asked nearly zero questions about the potential move and I had to volunteer info to him. He gave me a quote without getting the full details so I tried to add a few details to give him a better picture of our move.
Impulsively he then turned down the job when I mentioned it was moving to a loft space and I mentioned that there were sizable «landings» midway through the two sets of stairs. The piano was only to be moved from the 2^nd floor to the 3^rd floor. I never even had the chance to offer to send the 12 photos I’d taken of the various angles pertaining to the job.
We’ve used PROFESSIONAL piano movers in the past and I can tell you that based on this call TWO BROTHERS has no similarities to those types of companies. They may be just fine (for all I know) at standard moves but based on my call with them I would «move it on out» and seek another company if you’re looking for a PROFESSIONAL piano moving company.

Excellent service. These guys did a great job. They were hard working and efficient. Prices were reasonable for the quality of work.

I used Two Brothers two weeks ago. I first used them in 2007. Jack the owner took my reservation and was nice on the phone. On the day of the move, they hadn’t arrive to my storage unit at the agreed upon time. I called Jack and the appointment wasn’t recorded and it was forgotten. They eventually started the move one hour later. He kept deferring discussing a discount for being forgotten and late. The hourly rate was $ 75 and he ONLY offered $ 25 discount off the whole move. I didn’t think it was a fair amount for the inconvenience. He didn’t respond kindly to me trying to negotiate the discount. I strongly DO NOT recommend Jack for his poor service attitude.

I used Two Brothers Moving Co last weekend 3÷1÷14 to move.
Jack the owner picked up the phone which I loved and showed up with his crew to meet me at my house, which I also love. The did a wonderful job even with my three flights of stairs. They were on time, efficient and trustworthy. This is a local business and I very much hope others support them. Moving is stressful enough and having someone you can trust in your home is a little piece of mind during a stressful situation.

This company has moved us 3 times, I have never had a problem they were friendly and happy, Got the job done.
It mite be the way you talk to people and treat them that gets you extra good service, if that is the case we treated them very well and they did us the same.
Highly recommended.

These guys are very rude and lazy. I used them and they, were upset that they had to go up a freight elevator to move stuff. They smoked and tossed the cig butts everywhere. Would never use them again, and this is obviously NOT a recommendation.

At a recommendation of a friend I called Two Brothers Moving to move my daughter from her 1 bedroom apartment in Costa Mesa. What a great experience!
Jackson and Scott arrived 30 minutes prior to our appointment time. The owner, Jack met us to look at the job and address any of our concerns. They made the move easy and completed the task within the 3 hour minimum. It is by far the most
professional moving company I have ever used. The movers were kind, efficient and very careful with everything they moved. I will use them again and recommend them to all my friends. Do not believe the other reviews!

These guys make it easy! Very pleased. We’ve used TBM twice this year. The first time was a move from our Newport Beach 3 bedroom ground floor apt to storage (our apartment wasn’t ready for move-​in). The whole move took less than 4 hours. Four guys showed up, on time and loaded our stuff with care and efficiency. The guys are pleasant, helpful and work well together as a team. And Jack, the owner was helpful and professional. He even showed up on the move day to see how things were going. Our stuff was packed tight and secure and not one item was damaged during the move. They unloaded our stuff into storage quickly and knew how to stack and organize so it was all stable.
The second time was yesterday. They moved our stuff out of storage into our ground-​floor (but 2-​story) 2-​bedroom apt in Huntington Beach. Paul and Don showed up and were just a helpful and kind as before. Don can pack, load, and organize. Paul is an efficient mover and loaded the truck (sometimes with Don’s guidance) so the stuff wouldn’t move during the drive to the apt. Both worked well together as a team and the whole move was over in less than 4 hours.
They operate on a cash-​only basis and both our moves cost around $ 400, plus tips, which are optional. They charged $ 75/​hr, plus a $ 75 flat fee to cover fuel. The first move was set at a 3-​hour minimum and the second move was set at a 4-​hour minimum. I paid at the end of each move and I gave tips. They explain all the legal stuff up front and the paperwork is signed before they begin.
I will definitely call them again if we need to move and I will recommend them to my friends. I’ve had horrible experiences with other movers in the past, but TBM changed my mind and now I’m a loyal customer.

I seem to move every couple of years or so. Every time in the past I’ve done it myself with the help of friends and family. Moving all of my things from a 1 bedroom apartment to slightly larger 1 bedroom less than 7 miles away took us two days! So when it was time to move again at the beginning of last month, I hired Two Brothers.
These guys are great! The owner, Jack, is super nice and was very professional. He answered all of my questions himself and made sure that I understood how everything would work since it was my first time using a moving service. He said he would send over his son to be the crew leader the day of my move to make sure everything went smoothly.
The guys showed up right on time and had everything on the truck in less than two hours. As kind of a vintage junky I have some nice antique furniture that I was a little worried about. Particularly a midcentury desk my step-​father and I refinished together. I needn’t have worried. When we got to my new home and they unloaded the truck everything was still in beautiful condition. The guys carried all of that furniture and boxes and boxes of books to a second story walk up without complaint and still made great time. What would have taken my family and friends days was done with no muss, no fuss in less than half a day.
Long story short, decent prices, nice guys, quick service. I have no complaints. Hopefully I won’t be moving again any time soon, but if I do, I’m calling Jack.

I normally move my self and rent a truck. Never again two brothers you guys made it easy. You helped my Mom too! Thanks for your help again!

I have moved several times in my life, I’m 64, and this was by far the worst moving company I’ve employed. The owner called me the night before our move and asked to change to a noon appointment instead of 8:00 a.m. Drivers showed up at 3pm and were visibly worn out from their morning move. The owners son was also the driver and told me it would cost twice as much as agreed upon price or we could go elsewhere. We had to be out that day due to the sale of our home. Spent $ 300 more than agreed upon price and they hurried through the move pacing the truck in only 2 hours.
Two Brothers Moving stored my household furniture for almost 2 months charging me more than agreed to price. They delivered my furniture 2 hours later than promised, charged me $ 750, it took them only two hours to unload. I had to pay prior to unloading, and near the end told me my big screen tv had a broken frame but that the owner had it on order and would install it personally. The driver would not put it in writing.
It has been more than a month and the owner, Jack, keeps telling me he will take care of it. He finally told me he did not have the part on order and may have to go to Samsung to order it. Never calls back as he promises. My advice is to STAY AWAY from this company.

If I could give this company zero stars I would. Words can not begin to express the grief I feel at the senseless destruction to my belonging at the hands of this company.
We hired Two Brothers Moving and paid them over $ 600 to professionally pack a Penske truck and trailer for an out of state move. I provided the workers 5 dozen furniture pads and boxes for HD TV’s they agreed to remove and pack. When we arrived at our new home and we opened the trailer, I was shocked to see 2 dozen plus furniture pads unused and still wrapped in the plastic wrap from the company I had purchased them from. The absolute carnage inside that trailer and truck were heartbreaking. I photographed how the trailer looked and some of the damage and will post the pictures on Unilocal if I can figure out how. Some of the needless damage included:
1. A wall portrait of my daughters when they were young lying unprotected on top of an also unprotected antique wood table. The glass in the portrait was broken and the irreplaceable image of my children ruined. The top of the antique table was gouged in several places. No furniture pads were near either.
2. A heavy wooden square coffee table with pointed corners was put on top of a piece of a $ 5,000 sectional causing the table to poke a hole in the fabric of the sectional. nothing had been placed to protect either.
3. A 54 inch HD TV was wrapped in two furniture pads, but not boxed in the box i had provided. The pads were not even taped. The TV works but the black plastic around the screen is cracked and chipped.
4.Metal bed frames and bicycles were placed on top of unprotected wood furniture. Every piece of wood furniture I own with the exception of one dresser has chipped edges, gouges and ruined finish. Many of my pieces are family antiques and my bedroom set which sustained a lot of damage is Pulaski and cost over $ 14,000.
When we realized the situation, we called the owner of Two Brothers and were met with defensiveness and anger. He even went so far as to say it was my husbands fault because he didn’t know how to drive a truck! I’m sorry, but if the contents are not protected when they are packed it doesn’t matter who drives the truck!
The conversation ended with the owner telling my husband he would speak with his works (one of whom he said was his son) and call us back at 3:00 PM. That was over a week ago and he has not called, nor is he answering our calls.
I can’t stress enough to stay away from Two Brothers Moving, unless you are looking for a company that doesn’t care about you or your belongings!!!

Called just now (10:00pm on a Sunday night*) expecting to leave a voicemail, but someone picked up! All I wanted was to get a quote on moving to compare options before booking, and whoever picked up was quite rude: «You call me at 10 o’clock at night for rates and you don’t even want to book it?!?»
No, I didn’t want to book at this time, which is what I told him going in. It’s not my fault that the number listed for your business is your cell phone.
Probably not going to call back and book these guys. $ 75 an hour and a 3 hour minimum for just the 2 movers (we have a POD reserved as we are moving out of state).
*The comment on this review further cements my opinion and decision not to go with Two Brothers. I was not drunk when I called, nor would I be when pricing out movers. Maybe to order a late-​night pizza or something else, but not to conduct business that concerns me moving across the country. I was making calls at night because I WORK during the day myself, and I figured whichever places got back to me with quotes on their timeline would be worth checking out. Once Again: Rude. Not worth my time. Get a business line with a voicemail box for off-​hour calls. Like a real business.

Looking for a moving company close to home and found them online. I scheduled 2 weeks ahead of time, but the morning of the move 30 min after the scheduled time I decide to call them again. No answer, but got a call back 1 hour later saying they are on the way. Apparently my reservation was not scheduled although I confirmed 2 days before.
I had a single bedroom apt with no dinning room or garage. Just living bedroom, kitchen and bath totaling 750 square feet in all. It took the 4 guys over 2 hours to load up the entire place even though EVERYTHING was already boxed. I often found them lounging all the time and on their cell phones often. Basically they too their sweet time because they knew they where on the clock. We get to my new place and they refuse to work unless I pay them cash for 5 hours or they will not unload the truck. Keep in my this is again a tiny 1bd room 760 square foot apt, and not a full house. They basically tossed everything in the living room and refused to take anything upstairs since they had already been paid.
1 bedroom apt took 5 hours when me and my buddies took 2 hours to move in. Your better off driving by the local hardware store for day labors.

I am very late in reviewing this company as my move with them was in January 2011. However, having just undertaken a move (in a different city with two different companies), I am reminded of just how good Two Brothers was in comparison.
My move with Two Brothers was from Orange County to Riverside County — from a 2^nd floor apartment to a 3^rd floor apartment. I asked for three movers, not because of the size of the move, but because of the cruelty of asking them to move my things up three flights of stairs.
I have to say that I have never seen movers work so hard, or so enthusiastically. They were also efficient, quick and very professional. I only wish they were local for my last move.
There is only one very minor drawback to using Two Brothers and that is that payment was required in cash. But otherwise, if you want a high-​quality moving company that is very careful with your belongings, the Two Brothers is the business to call.
