Midway Chrysler Dodge Jeep & Ram

I have been taking my car to Midway Jeep for 7 years, and have finally reached the end of my rope regarding their extremely poor customer service and inefficiency. Just made an appointment to have my car serviced at another service center and, just after the initial phone conversation, am already feeling I will receive better service.

I came across a great deal on a car that I fell in love with. It was just slightly out of price range for us. We came in on Sunday to test drive it and they ended up coming down $ 400 in price. We went home that night to think about it and came back on Monday. The selling price was back up to full price and they completely REFUSED to negotiate in any way. All we needed was them to knock off $ 900, not too bad for a car that was in «immaculate condition» even though the emblems were all weathered, the paint on the rims was peeling off, the button to bring the drivers side seat up and down didn’t work, it’s 4 years old and has 50k miles on it. The manager there was uncooperative and basically told us that if we didn’t buy it then at full price that he was sending it to auction to get full price for it. Very unhappy seeing as they came down in price once for us, then the next day completely unwilling to budge from full price. Their communication sucks. We we told him our top price out the door he basically shook our hand and said bye. I guess they don’t care if they get sales or not. As long as they get all their money even if the car goes to auction. I walked out empty handed and very let down.

Recently purchased my 3^rd vehicle from the Midway Jeep guys and as was the case with my previous dealings with them, they made it relatively painless and comfortable experience, I’m super happy with my new Grand Cherokee.
No pressure, only the anticipated haggling. Stan worked with us and we even shared some genuine laughs! They compromised and extended my family and I a very good deal, I would recommend any potential buyers make an appointment, ask for MJ or Marcus!

They fixed a huge problem for me,

My mom recently purchased a stellar Jeep Wrangler from Midway Jeep dealership and her sales men Robert was overly helpful and went the extra mile to get all the things that she needed and more importantly wanted. My mom is in sales and is not all that easy to deal with so thank you for your help Robert.

Made an appointment at 9 am. Told them what was exactly wrong with my truck, yet they still had to confirm. They told me I have to wait six hours just to get my transmission pan re-​sealed because the technician is busy working on other vehicles. What’s the flipping point in making an appointment if you can’t honor it?

I highly recommend this dealership for service. My daughters Grand Cherokee Jeep’s engine went completely dead. She is in college and studying for finals so as a parent I was really concerned as she need a car to get around for study groups and food. We had the car towed to Brian Smith. He put me at ease very quickly and that he would handle everything as we live out of town. He received the car, spoke to both me and my daughter about the process and kept me updated twice daily. He is extremely professional and knows the service department very well. We needed the car back as soon as possible and he worked with his service department to help meet our needs. The receptionist, Jennifer is delightful and helpful and always helped me locate Brian if I needed him to answer a question. I would say excellent service and knowledge of their products. Ask for Brian Smith !

NOT WORTH IT!
Took the car in for maintenance. Nothing major.
The appointment was scheduled for the wrong day. Ok. That I can overlook.
A few days go by. They call. The car is ready! Great!
They call later the same day. Car’s not ready. Something else is wrong that we couldn’t see until we got to this point. Need to wait more and tomorrow they’ll tell me what MORE it’s going to cost me.
The next day i get the pricetag at a hard-​to-​swallow $ 1000 for additional repairs AFTER the car was supposedly already fixed.
I call the service manager and ask/​demand for calls back. He calls once, gets my voicemail, and despite REPEATED requests that he contact me again so we can speak about this unfortunate situation, he never calls again.
Fine. Fix the car.
I go to pick up the car. They drive it up and I walk up to it and place my hand on the car. Whoa. This thing is vibrating like never before! This feels NOTICEABLY weird and off. I tell this to my repair guy who dismisses me with a simple «That’s normal.» And sends me off the lot.
Day 1. The car doesn’t feel great. The vibration is weird. It has a new bass sound in the engine. This isn’t normal.
Day 2. The car hesitates before starting. The electrics continue to falter. A complaint when i first brought my car in.
Day 3. The car doesn’t start. I call. I’m mad. The fact that I told them the car felt weird, and they let me drive off the lot infuriates me. The service manager tells me to stop yelling. They tow the car. They pay for ONE DAY of a rental car.
Phone call late in the day, Friday. I’m at work. Message says they have no problems. They see nothing wrong. By the time I get the message everyone who I need to talk to is off work until Monday. The rental car they are supposed to be paying for, has now been extended over the weekend, and I’m on the hook for that. Thanks, guys.
I call and beg them to try it on a cold start in the hopes that they will experience the same stall that I have been. They call on Monday… nothing wrong. Come get the car.
I don’t trust them. I’m not making up the problems with my car but I have very little faith that they are the ones to fix it. I have never driven away from a repair with less confidence in my automobile than AFTER they worked on it.
Will. Not. Go. There. Again.

This place is a JOKE! They «supposedly» fixed my air condition problem last time which cost me about 700 $ and 2 months later the same problem is occurring I take my car back up there and they said it would cost 800 $ just to see what the problem is and then it will be extra for parts!
When it was the same problems as before! Which is covered under warranty!
I’m going to another auto body place and if they tell me it’s what the Chrysler place fixed before I’m suing the shit out of them for my time and gas and the charge to fix it!
This place is a joke!

Uh oh. Recall notice in the mail for my truck. I call the other Dodge dealer in the area and am told it will be a long wait for the part to come in and have the service done. I mean long time. I would be #167 on the wait list. I call Midway Dodge. They have the part and schedule an appointment for me the following week. Awesome!
I show up just a few minutes past my appointment time. No line and the service writer quickly gets my information and directs me to the waiting area. They have a free shuttle available to take you where you need to go, and Enterprise Rent-​a-​car is right next door as well. Me, I don’t need the ride, I’ll just stay here and work. It’s only scheduled to take an hour or two for the fix.
Free coffee, tv in the lounge, free WiFi and Vipers in the showroom to look at. This should be a short wait. But it wasn’t My truck was not cooperating with the mechanic and fought a four hour loosing battle to give up the bad parts.
With the new parts installed, alignment done, and road tested, I was on my way. The only way this could have been a more pleasant experience was if they had kept me more informed of what the delays were. I had to keep searching out the service writer for updates.
Now.if I could have taken the Viper for a test drive, they would have received six stars!

The cars were filthy and both the inventory manager as well as the finance man is among the rudest people I have ever started to do business with. Go to Carl Burger and be treated with respect!

The one star explains it all. Had way too many issues at this dealership customer service is beyond rude, including the general manager. I called to discuss an issue and he on Unilocal looking at my previous review. What GM is on Unilocal during work hours??? How about you help me and stop being nosy. They ficked up my car paint job twice and didn’t fix the issue with my locks when they sold me a defective car. And failed to mention about the locks not lovking 100% of the time. And they actually will be smart asses with you and argue back. And not be proper, idgaf I will never buy from this dealership and I will MAKE SURE ALL MY

Very poorly run establishment.
I dropped my car off for an estimate on servicing repairs. When it came time to pick my car up they said they would make my keys available for late pickup and they did not, resulting in a wasted trip to retrieve my car. The following day I showed up to retrieve my car and the clerk said they would drive it right down. 20 minutes passed and still no car. After questioning the clerk I found out they had misplaced my car and could not find it. After waiting 15 more minutes I went through parking lot myself, found my car, and pointed it out to the clerks. They then admitted that they had also lost my keys. After 10 more minutes I finally had my car and keys and received no apologies from the staff.
While waiting this long time for my car, I heard a dispute between a sales representative and customer. The customer had thanked him for the test drive and stated she was going to see a few more dealerships before making a decision. The representative grew angry with her, berated her for taking such a long test drive and then continued to speak negatively towards her. She told him he was being very rude, however he continued lecturing her. That woman also left the dealership in an outrage.

I recently purchased a new Jeep Grand Cherokee & Rafi was my sales consultant. He was very friendly, professional, knowledgeable, & went of his way to earn my business. This was my 1^st time buying from a US manufacturer & from the Chrysler Jeep brand. Rafi, the sales manager, & finance manager all made my car buying experiencing a good one. I was recommended to this dealership by friend who also recently purchased his Dodge Ram truck from here. I’ll defintely recommend others to this dealership.
Also I noticed that there was stain on the dashboard. Rafi & Jim in Service took care of it right away! Great service!

i left with a brand new Grand Caravan and impressed on how Ron and the team
at Midway took care of our situation. Marcus the GSM made sure i was completely
satisfied. Nothing but good things to say about the staff!!!

They make no mistakes…(so they say)
I guess the only mistake made was me using them for service, and that was a big one. Unfortunately for me this is the closest Jeep Dealer to my home. I will drive clear across town before I go to Midway again. If they would had just owned up to mistakes made and said sorry but no, they tried to turn it around and make it sound as if I had taken off (for what reason) rubber stripping under the hood when I pointed it out and said its missing. Its not like it flew off on the freeway. You would have to be driving with the hood open (NOT). Also my engine cover was loose and the said that they didn’t do that. That’s what made me check under the hood to begin with. It was loose and banging around under the hood. Save yourself grief and try to by-​pass this dealership. People say they’re all the same, but lets hope not.

1 star for high pressure sales tactics, keeping my registration hostage after I asked for it twice. Allowing me to think that I could get a nicer car in the color I wanted for the same price as the base model and getting nasty with me and my boyfriend if we asked a question they didn’t want to answer. They also get 1 star for lying to me and telling me that my new car would be ready to drive off the lot then and there, then sending me home in a rental after having me sign loan docs and taking my trade in. Good thing I did get sent home in a rental so I technically didn’t purchase the car and was able to change my mind and go back on the horrible «deal» I was given. They were nice to me after they realized how upset I was on the whole deal, but made me wait 45 minutes to get my old car back, and had already sold it to a whole sale guy so didn’t have the keys. My fiancé had to drive home, get my other set of keys to get our car and get out of that dealership. The manager told me he would call me when he had my keys, never called, I had to go down there the next day to get my keys. Nightmare…

Bruce Webb, the manager of this body shop is the most unfriendly, unapologetic, unwilling to ever help a customer come up with a solution I have yet to encounter.
* I dropped my car off for service, their shuttle driver takes me to a car rental place where I proceed to rent a car.
* I turn the car back in to Jeep, cashier accepts the keys and I leave the next day.
* I get a call from Olé Brucey that the car is still on the lot and the car was rented from Hertz and not from Enterprise where they have a relationship. How would I know that since the driver took me to this specific place. So now i’m gettin charged extra, and he says «IT’s your responsiblilty, it’s yout fault.»
He doesn’t care that the driver took me to the wrong place from the start, and the cashier accepted the rental car keys and said «no problem sweety, I’ll take care of it.»
This guy has no concept of customer service, and I plan on letting the GM know of his rude attitude as well.

I had no intention of writing a Midway review, for the record. Sometimes you just need to vent, you know?
We’re looking for a slightly used 4WD or AWD SUV, something very clean and with low mileage that we can take with us when we leave San Diego later this year and move back into a climate that receives heavy snowfall. I like the Cadillac SRX and Mercedes GLK; husband is a Jeep Grand Cherokee fan and has his eye specifically on Overlands. We recently visited Midway to check out a few vehicles.
Our options are limited, it turns out. 4WD is somewhat of a rare bird in the San Diego area. Why wouldn’t it be though? Why spend the extra money for 4WD when precipitation isn’t exactly a threat? We were bummed to learn that the pretty used Overland Summit in stock was a 2WD, and, after determining that Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited just isn’t all that special after test-​driving the Summit, felt defeated. We had spent about 2 hours with Adolfo, a «Sales & Leasing Consultant,» and liked him. Nice guy, full of personality, knowledgeable, clearly loves Jeeps.
We weren’t so fond of «Crew Leader» Stan, however. My guy and I work a lot and have limited free time together, so suffice it to say I don’t appreciate people wasting our time.
We were on our way out, and Stan grabbed us at the door. (Yeah, we should have just left.) He asked about our situation, and we said we were having a tough time finding a nice used Overland with 4WD. Stan then mentioned that Adolfo should show us a new Overland and that we should really consider leasing. I responded that (A) we’re not into new vehicles and (B) we’re neither comfortable with nor interested in leasing. I could not have been clearer or more firm about our position on leasing, I assure you. Stan asked us to take a look at a new Overland, so we agreed to that since we were there anyway. Upstairs Adolfo showed us a couple new Overlands that retail for around $ 50K and then, of course, asked us what we’d be willing to pay. I warned that our number would be offensive, and then, when encouraged, proceeded to give him the offensive figure. Back downstairs we went.
Long story short (yes, this is the short version), a bunch of information sharing, talking, interruptions, time, and a few bottles of water later, Stan came over and eventually told us that our figure wasn’t possible unless we leased. Actually, I interrupted his schtick and said something to the extent of «Our price isn’t possible unless we lease, is that the case?» What a shocker.
A couple miscellaneous notes:
* The elevated outdoor platform on which employees stand to better see approaching customers – we heard employees call it the «jail” – just exudes sleaziness.
* The trade-​in value offered for our Cadillac CTS was astonishingly low.
If you’re interested in leasing, Midway might be for you. If not and if your experience here is anything like ours, prepare to have your time wasted… even if you insist you have no interest in leasing.

I love Jeeps.
I love my Jeep that I bought here.
I love the $ 19.95 emails I get for an oil change.
I love the availability of scheduling my car in for an appointment.
I love their customer service and that they have never pressured me to get any work done here.
I love their honesty.
I love the free WiFi while I wait and that I’ve never had to wait too long.
For all this love is why I’m giving this 2 star average business a 5 star review.
