Business Owner

Maile grew up on a boat here in San Diego. After graduating with Coronado High School’s class of 1999 at16, she received her Bachelor’s in Anthropology from University of California at Berkeley in 2003, and wondered what exactly she was going to do with that. At UCB, her focus was medical anthropology and archeology and she followed the latter south to hot and humid Honduras where she realized how much cooler it would be if she was underwater. This realization brought her to Santa Barbara City College’s Marine Diving Technology Program, and then eventually home to San Diego following an injury that left both her knees rather damaged, and trying to avoid surgery, she received regular acupuncture (a system of medicine she learned about in her undergraduate medical anthropology program) and not only avoided surgery, but was inspired to go back to school yet again for a Master’s degree in Oriental Medicine. Now, as a licensed acupuncturist she happily serves the community of San Diego.
