I just heard many locations were suddenly closed. This one somehow got missed. My last visit I experienced food that tasted old and reheated, mold and grime on many food stations, and complete filth. I took alot of pictures and no one in the restaurant stopped me. I then asked for the manager and began walking him through my findings. He just nodded his head in agreement and made some excuses. I contacted the corporate office and someone left me a message. I have tried calling that person several times with no return call. It seems to me like they have no interest in the health of their patrons. Someone is likely to be very ill from the deplorable conditions of this restaurant. They deserve zero stars.

Came for lunch, so maybe things are different for dinner. Everything was old (even the tea bags) Lunch buffet consists of grilled chicken fried chicken and chicken pot pie and last night’s hamburger sliders disguised as salsbery steak. I think there are better hometown buffet locations than this one.

This place used to be pretty good. But they seemed to have lost their flair. Food is just average. An they always seem to run out of breakfast on the weekends. Not cool.

Came for breakfast. It was alright. However, for the amount of food I ate, I got full pretty quickly. I’m not sure if they add something to make you feel fuller, but I’ve been to the Casino buffets and eat alot more than I do at this establishment. I don’t know.

I can say this is the first time I ever visit a good hometown buffet in the whole San Diego and have really good and fresh food. They served a lot of different variety of food and was got great experience from the manager Joseph I will definitely give credit to him because he was checking all tables making sure everyone was having a great dinner. Definitely recommend this location to everyone for a variety of good food.

What can I say? As a student, I can say that this taste exactly like cafeteria food. Yucky! The place is so dirty. Especially in the frozen yogurt area. There is always yogurt on the floor and the toppings are all mixed up. My sister who is allergic to nuts, cant eat any toppings because the nuts are mixed with every topping. Also, the machines are always out of order. Dont eat this place! Never going to eat here again! It is so gross!

This place is dirty and stinks. Smells like bathroom all around the place. Literally smells like restroom. Fountain dispenser is rusted and has mold all around it. Food is bad, not a lot of selection and everything’s overcooked. I didn’t even finish my first plate. I almost threw up because of the BAD smell and BAD food. Two thumbs «DOWN»!!!

Staff is super ruuude!!! Everyone is rude!!! Guys are pervs! ace is filthy!!! I mean disgusting filthy!!! Bathrooms omg seems like a bums shower and shitter! Absolutely gross place! I thought after the remodeling they would make it better … Nope same shit place! Nasty never go there unless you are intentionally trying to get sick… Dishes are half ass cleaned

If you’re 22 years old or older and you’re starting to feel old Hometown Buffet is a great Freudian exercise to make you feel like you’re 6 years old again.
Eating at Hometown Buffet takes you back to your Kindergarten Days. This is all you can eat Cafeteria food, It’s glorious!
A side effect of being Freudianly time machined to Kindergarten is the people who eat here are pigs. After 2pm this place is messy! Food everywhere, Soda and Ice Cream on the floor. I don’t blame the workers though. I blame the sick freaks who take being 6 years old literal and lose all their motor skills and spill everything.
I like to eat a minimum of 5 plates. Gotta get my 10,000 calories. Great way to get your 10,000 calories at Hometown. It’s like $ 9. Less if you’re 55 or older. I’m going to get a fake ID so I can eat here cheaper.
Minus 1 star because it’s not open 24 hours. Another Minus 1 because their Love Meter is broken.

Place is dirty! Food spills are everywhere, especially by the frozen yogurt machine! No one has cleaned it up during my visit (30 min). They only put a yellow caution around it, but no clean up. There’s an accident waiting to happen, followed by a lawsuit. Be careful where you walk… you can easily slip and fall due to the restaurant’s lack of cleanliness.

I just had lunch. Been coming for 10 years at least once a week. The service was terrible. No food, servers talking to each other, no knives, I asked for when the fried chicken would be ready they would say 3 minutes four times in s row. I never got the chicken. Sorry but I will not come back. Waste of time and money

For the price you really can’t do better anywhere else. The 5 star rating is not because the quality is high rather the combination if the price and the quality is way above average.
Everything I had was good except for the chocolate cream pie and chocolate cake. If you were to put on a blindfold you would never guess what you’re eating. I had one bite of each and could not go on. I did have the blueberry cheesecake. Good enough.

Update; stopped by Sunday and I was amazed with the change! They had a manager watching all the food to make sure that as it was coming out from the kitchen it was looking good and fresh.
The salad bar was clean and all of the vegetables were fresh. The food bar was clean and very presentable.
I will certainly come back to this restaurant.
I give it 4 stars for the improvement that they did.

Went here for dinner tonight. Food was ok. My favorite was the chicken pot pies. The dessert & drink stations are good too. The server quickly cleared our table. There wasn’t too much to choose from. They had the basics like chicken, mashed potatoes, veggies, corn, etc. It was just ok.
