I spent YEARS going from hairstylist to hairstylist because NO ONE could get it right. After walking out on a barber that a «friend» highly recommended (who admittedly said he didn’t cut girls hair), I drove a couple blocks to elite salon.
Remie had time for a walk in, and almost 5 years later, I’m still going to her. Remie is amazing. She doesn’t try to up sell you anything, and she genuinely cares about what you want and has an opinion on what maybe won’t work.
I LOVE that I found someone who knows what they’re doing. I’ve recommended others to her and they have also been very happy. Ask for Remie!

This review is long overdue, Remie (the owner) is such a bubbly, peaceful, and happy individual. She always welcomes you with a bright smile and listens closely to your needs. She respects your opinions and follows your requests. Her work is always satisfying, in fact for a long time I was worried I’d never find a good hair stylist since I’m not a San Diego native and one day I decided to call this salon based in convenience and reviews. Since the first time I met Remie I quickly realized that I couldn’t go to anyone else. She’s just awesome and I love her work, she’s a true artist and will be honest with you when you ask her questions about your hair. I trust this wonderful woman with my hair, and you should too.
Give her a try, you won’t be disappointed!

I have been going here since the 4^th grade, after my mom passed. As a colored woman, this hair is NO JOKE! So I appreciate Remie’s consistency in delivering excellence when styling my hair. She is very social, quick, and knows what she’s doing.
Yesterday, I stopped in to say hi, and although she was booked, she told me to come back after an hour so she could focus on me and give me a quick trim. With that, she washed, straightened my hair, and cut off all my split ends. My hair feels so soft! I forgot how much I missed her doing my hair.
After taking a break for over a year, I will have to swing by a few more times before I graduate and head to college.

I was there last week. Remi has been helping for the last few years now. She has given me excellent service and I am happy with the result all the time. I will definitely coming back.

Thanks to Remie for taking me in at the last minute. She did an amazing job on my hair and gave me a cut I am comfortable with and easy to maintain. She is really nice and easy to talk to. Luckily she is close to my office and I can stop by after work for a trim. I will definitely be seeing her again in about 6 – 8 weeks.

This is my new go to place to have my hair done. Remie is super friendly as well as talented as a hairstylist. I have always been looking for a hair salon that I like and I have found that at Elite Salon & Day Spa. My cut and color were done in a reasonable amount of time and turned out great! I am loving my new hairstyle now well deserving of a selfie, perhaps many.
Since they also cut men’s hair and offer massages I will recommend this place to my husband and I am sure he will be satisfied. And since he is also on Unilocal,he would give an account of his experience. But that is going to be on another review.

Kim is so sweet and friendly! She took her time trying to help my mom figure out a low maintenance cut that would fit her face. She listened as my mom explained she wanted her hair to be cut on such a way that when it dries naturally it still look good. My mom’s cut suited her very well and I thought she looked great!
I showed Kim a few pictures of how I wanted my hair to look and she explained that she would be layering my hair from the infuse out in order to achieve that thin look with my VERY thick hair. My hair ended up looking fantastic and I love love it!
I also can’t say enough great things about Remy who used to color my hair YEARS ago. She also remembered me even though I think it’s been 4 – 5 years since I’d been in which was really sweet.

My favorite hair salon! Ask for Kim, she’s my favorite. A friend of mines who had really pretty and healthy looking brown hair (which Kim dyed her hair) recommended her to me years ago and I decided to give it a shot. She was able to fit me in her busy schedule for color& cut. I’ve had horrible hair experiences in the past (In other hair salons) which is why I’m very picky when it comes to my hair. Kim really took her time to see what look I was going for, gave me tips& advices, took her time to perfect it and all for a reasonable price. You can honestly tell that she wants the best for her clients. I can’t even tell you how beautiful my hair was after she was finished with it and how smooth and healthy it looked — I was beyond impressed. Her style and technique of also cutting my hair and layering it was beyond my expectations and exactly how I wanted it to look. She really makes you feel at home and talks to you more than a client, she really builds a bond with you and is the sweetest person ever. You can tell she loves her job.

I have no idea how I was so lucky to find this place, but it is amazing! I have yet to be disappointed with a single cut or style. Remi is perfect! Not to mention extremely hospitable and friendly. I refuse to go anywhere else!

I was driving around Mira Mesa and Poway looking for a place to get my hair permed. Yes, I am a white 47 year old woman who wanted someone to do my hair and follow up with me monthly for the hair thing. I am concerned with whiskers and crazy eye brows that pop out over night that I can not see anymore! We’ll after driving around and stopping in to places that do not take walk ins even though the sign says they do, or they charge 30 dollars to blow and style your hair after the cut– like I am going to walk out with wet hair. Well, I called Elite Salon– she would do my perm now.
I meet Remy. She was nice, Philippina. But understood my hair.
She sat me in the chair, looked over my hair, fixed some uneven hair from a fresh cut two weeks ago and gave me the best perm ever! I love it! Not tight, not frizzy, no breakage around my forehead or in my scalp. I look cute. No flat head hair.

Great find! On my way home from work and tucked away in a nondescript complex.
Simple but clean place, both the salon ladies were friendly and professional. The lady who did my haircut did a great job (I showed her a pic) and she did great layers that suited my face. Shampoo, conditioning, haircut and styling with waves were all done in less than 45 mins and the end product was fabulous. More professional that costlier salons I’ve been to where the technicians barely understand what you want. The technicians here are very friendly and talkative; punctual and prices are very reasonable, offering room for a decent tip. Will come back!

My wife and I have been getting our haircuts from Kim Q. for a little over 4 years now, and won’t go to anyone else. As a man, my haircut isn’t too complicated (though I’m never disappointed), but my wife has some of the thickest, hard-​to-​style hair around. Kim always takes the extra time and care required to wash, highlight/​color, cut with a complex layered style, blow dry, and flat iron my wife’s hair; and all for a very reasonable fee. My wife is always very pleased with the results after a trip to this salon. As Kim knows how long it takes to style my wife’s hair, she always schedules a large window of time for her when she knows she’s coming, and even stays late if she needs to.
Also, the establishment is always very clean and comfortable. The staff members are quite nice and personable. Really can’t say enough good things about this salon.

I always love my long layered haircuts, highlights, and curls by Remie when I walk out the door. She is the best and I won’t leave her. She is genuinely nice and I love the Paul Mitchell products.

I have been getting my hair cut here for years and Remie is the best. Great price, works with you on scheduling and really becomes your friend. I get compliments on my hair ALL THE TIME. I don’t let anyone else touch my hair. My mom also goes here and has the works — from cut to color and even a perm and she always loves her hair (she is very picky too).

I’m usually pretty picky about where I get my haircut and I happen to stumble on this place because I felt like going in. My hairstylist was really friendly, honest, I loved that she gave me her opinion and listened to what I wanted done. She was careful since I had long hair and made me feel comfortable throughout the whole time I was getting my haircut.
We both had a little startle at the beginning because there was an earthquake that day but this did not stop her from giving me the best haircut ever.
My hairstylist did an amazing job and was helpful in giving me different tips in how to do different things with my new haircut. I always get charged tons because of my long hair but I was surprised to find out she charged me a moderate price, for having long hair, shampoo, conditioned and blow dryed. This lady is fantastic and will definitely be seeing her again. :-)

The worst place for highlights!
I had a spoiled vacation because I couldn’t look at myself in the mirror. Terrible terrible highlights! and I’m naturally blond so it’s not hard to get nice highlights on my hair, but this place ruined what’s really hard to ruin. I’ve been getting highlights for 8 years in all kinds of places. But this place is the worst to get your highlights done! and it costs $ 92.
Also, it took forever for my highlights: about 2 hours. Haircut took about the same… and none of it was worth the time!
It seemed ok at first, but when I requested the refund for their terrible job, they would not even consider giving me my money back and all of them became very rude.
