History

Established in 1978.

Dr. Brantz has practiced in Clairemont, near the corner of Clairemont Drive and Balboa Avenue for over 30 years. He is a continuing member of the American Academy of Family Physicians since 1978, earning his diplomat status in 1979 and his Fellowship designation in 1978.

Dr. Brantz grew up in the Clairemont area, graduating from local high schools and colleges. He was in the first class to complete a national model Family Practice Residency program in northeast Pennsylvania (Family Practice Residency Program of Wyoming Valley, affiliated with Hahnemann Medical College) in 1978.

Appreciate each day with a sense of humor and a zest for life is Dr. Brantz’s philosophy. His patients report that they feel comfortable with his friendly, easy-​going style and that he spends quality time with each and every patient, making them feel part of a caring practice. The local Independent Practice Association (IPA), after confidentially surveying thousands of it’s patients, has bestowed upon Dr. Brantz it’s highest Patient Satisfaction award for the past six consecutive years since the inception of the program!

Dr. Brantz is currently active senior staff at Sharp Memorial Hospital, active affiliate or associate staff at Scripps Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, Sharp Grossmont Hospital, Mary Birch Women’s Center, and several outpatient surgical centers. Dr. Brantz is also a member of the San Diego County Medical Society, the California Medical Association, and the San Diego Academy of Family Physicians. He has served on various hospital committees and boards.
