The staff is incredibly friendly and professional. The office is very clean and the doctor is funny and very knowledgeable. My son had to have four screws put into his mouth to help with his orthodontic work. Everyone made him feel very comfortable through the whole process. I would highly recommend!

This review has absolutely nothing to do with Dr. Milder, and everything to do with his staff and fill in doctor.
I was referred to Dr. Milder to have a root canal gone bad extracted. Unfortunately, he ended up needing surgery and was out for three weeks. Jamie called me and was very apologetic and quick to setup a new appointment with the Dr that was filling in.
Dr Miner was incredible! I am 16 weeks pregnant but HAD to have this removed asap, so was obviously very nervous. After taking the xrays, he determined that the extraction would be more difficult than we had thought and he wanted to knock me out to perform the surgery. He was very thorough with his explanations and made sure I was well informed to make a decision for me and my baby.
The staff was able to contact my ob and bring me back in that same day to do the surgery. I was also able to have the bone graft that would make my eventual implant easier. Katrina (I think!) Was the assistant on my surgery and while I was being prepped she could tell when I was getting stressed and was quick to reassuringly squeeze my shoulder or smile at me.
The aftercare pack they send you home with has Chapstick and a Jamba juice card… what?! Then, after all that, Dr Miner called me later that night to follow up and make sure I was doing okay and see if I had any questions.
Yes, my mouth hurts like a bitch right now, but the rest of me is insanely happy with everything that happened today. If I could give more than five stars I would!

I work in dentistry and like most people I was nervous about getting my wisdom teeth extracted. Thank goodness for dr milder and his staff. They are all laughs and you get a great vibe while you’re there. I was prepared to be in that chair for a while but he got all my wisdoms out in a snap! I think I was only in the chair for like 20 minutes! Needless to say I’ll go back to him when I have to get a couple more teeth taken out for braces. :)

Dr. Milder and his team were fantastic!!! I had an emergency and had to have my wisdom teeth all out. Dr. Milder’s team had me in in two days, walked me through the surgery and had me out within two hours. They were all so friendly and professional. I even got a call from doctor Milder that evening making sure I was recuperating well. I would highly recommend him, no other dental professional has made me feel as comfortable and valued as Dr. Milder and his team! Thanks guys!!!

This review is long overdue, as I removed my 4 wisdom teeth in September 2010.
Having 4 teeth yanked out of your mouth is a pretty scary concept, and i have to say Dr. Milder and his team made the experience as pleasant as possible.
I went in a month before the procedure and the receptionist was super friendly. While my BF and i were waiting she came over to chat with us and made us feel very comfortable. During my consultation with Dr. Milder he thoroughly took the time to answer all my questions about the procedure (how it was done, side effects, recovery periods, etc). Because i was getting 4 teeth pulled at once, I chose to get general anesthesia because to be honest… as much as Dr. Milder put my mind to ease during the consultation, i really did not like the idea of knowing exactly when and how he is pulling out my teeth.
A month later when I went in for the procedure, the same receptionist helped me get ready. The whole time, up until the moment Dr. Milder injected the anesthesia into me, she was making jokes with me to take my mind off the procedure (i guess she could still tell i was nervous). The last thing i remember before going down under was laughing at something she said.
When i woke up, my mouth felt kinda of numb and i was still groggy from the anesthesia, but otherwise ok. The doctor gave me a little bag to take home (that had a bag with my extracted teeth. eww, a mini chap stick, syringe to wash out my mouth, $ 5 Coupon to jamba juice, and a prescription for Vicodin). The whole process was extremely smooth, and Dr. Milder and his team really take extra steps to try to make the procedure as painless as possible. If anyone in San Diego needs a wisdom tooth extraction, i would totally recommend this to them.

I had a mediocre experience with Dr. Milder. I was drawn to his practice by the good reviews he has on here, but was left a bit disappointed. I went in to get one wisdom tooth removed. By looking at the x-​ray, Dr. Milder and his assistant said it would be a straightforward and easy extraction, but in reality it actually turned out to be fairly difficult. This made me concerned that the next 3 wisdom teeth would also not be as easy as he claimed. After the extraction the assistant gave me a care pack with a plastic syringe for cleaning the socket. She told me that on the third day I should insert the syringe into the socket and squirt water inside. Um… on the third day I definitely had NO socket to speak of, just a huge blood clot and lots of swelling. I don’t know what that was all about, but I probably would have gotten dry socket had I attempted to follow those instructions. Also, it has been two months since the extraction and a part of my chin is still numb due to some nerve damage that may or may not recover itself eventually (sad face).
As others have mentioned on here, Dr. Milder is soft-​spoken and not very talkative. I am one of those patients who likes to know what is going on at all times, so getting him to answer my plethora of questions was a bit like pulling teeth (ha…). If you are like me you may want to find a different oral surgeon if you feel it’s important to have close communication with your doctor. But overall he did a good job extracting my tooth (though I was definitely glad to have taken valium beforehand). I’m just not convinced that it was a 5-​star experience.
PS: Another reviewer mentioned $ 450 as the cost for one wisdom tooth extraction without insurance. This is interesting because I paid a bit over $ 600 for the same thing. Perhaps mine was more impacted than hers and that made for the difference.

I went to Dr. milder on October 16 to get one of my wisdom teeth removed. The whole process was fast, painless, and as relaxing as it could be, and involved no stitches. The cost for the consultation, X-​ray, anesthetic, and removal of one tooth was a little less than $ 450, without insurance. I was able to eat a normal dinner, avoiding rice and other possibly problematic foods. I went back for my free check-​up today, and he said it’s looking great. I will definitely be back to Dr. Milder to have my remaining wisdom teeth extracted.

Last Friday (August 31, 2012), I went to have my 4 wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Milder. Due to scheduling issues with school, I had my consultation and surgery in the same day (I definitely recommend doing it this way!). I went in at 8:15am and was shown a short video about wisdom teeth extraction and then I had x-​rays taken by a super nice dental assistant. Dr. Milder came in and spoke to me about my specific situation, explained everything he was going to do and answered all of my questions. Shorty after I was waking up in a recovery room! In total the entire thing (consultation and surgery) took about an hour and a half.
I highly recommend Dr. Milder for anyone who needs oral surgery. He and his staff are so friendly and do everything they can to make you feel comfortable. After the surgery you receive a goody bag filled with everything from extra gauze and chap stick to a Jamba Juice gift card! He even calls all of his patients a few hours later to check on them.
My experience was as wonderful as oral surgery can possibly be. I have had zero problems with the recovery process. If I ever need anything else done I will definitely be returning to Dr. Milder’s office.

My daughter had 4 wisdom teeth pulled. Dr. Milder and his staff were great. They provided us with comprehensive information for after care. The Doctor followed up the night of the surgery. I called the office a couple of different times during the week with multiple questions. The staff was so helpful.

Dr. Milder extracted my 4 wisdom teeth. Everything went smooth and without any complications. I had a free follow up appointment in a week and will be having another one in a couple of months.
Dr. Milder truly cares about his patients. Before the surgery, the Doctor showed me a short educational video about wisdom teeth and how they are extracted. He called me after the surgery to make sure I was doing well. And yes, all patients receive a Jamba Juice gift card.

This oral surgeon is the real deal. I took my wife to get her wisdom teeth pulled and Dr. Milder and his staff were on top of their game. And yes, the Jamba Juice card and phone call at night are both true.

I went to Dr. Milder for a couple of bumm teeth that had to be pulled. He is simple and straight forward. His care is complete and the surgery/​pulling is not to bad. I have a very low pain tolerance and some PTSD from an old broken jaw experience so anxiety in the chair is sometimes really extreme for me. His calm and professional approch made me feel at ease right away. When the proceedure began I was very nevrous about the numbing shots, we all know they hurt the worst, but after a few pokes it was over and the way they walk you through what is going on makes you feel at ease. The billing process was easy for me (I have Aetna) and his staff were very nice and pleasant to deal with.
I would recomend him if you need any teeth pulled that may be trouble some and you need a great doctor, one who cares about you, he even calls you that night to see if you are o.k.

Today I went to Dr. Milder’s office for the first time to get 4 wisdom teeth removed.
If Unilocal allowed 6 stars, then this practice would definitely deserve it.
First off, both Dr. Milder and his staff are very nice people. Before anything is done, the patient is shown a informative video about wisdom teeth. This helped me understand more about wisdom teeth and certain terms associated with them.
The doctor and his assistants clearly informed me about what was going on, what was going to happen, and answered questions that I had.
I would and will recommend Dr. Milder’s oral surgery practice to anybody in need of his services. He is very well educated (DDS and MD).
Also, if you are worried or anxious about getting your wisdom teeth extracted then I would say do not be because you can just go to Dr. Milder’s office where you truly receive «A Milder Way of Care.»

Dr. Milder was a great doctor.
I had waited until my 20’s to get my wisdom teeth out and was extremely stressed/​nervous. His nursing staff were very calm and supportive which was a great first step.
I met him the day of the surgery (because I didn’t have enough time to wait, do a consult and then schedule for surgery) so we did it all in one day. After I got my x-​ray, I learned that one of mine had a cyst around it and the other punctured my sinuses. Before I went into surgery, they asked me which kind of pain killers I wanted, which I appreciated because members of my family are allergic to Vicodin. You have the option to get their prepackaged medicine (Vicodin or Tylenol with codeine) which was nice to know I didn’t have to go to a pharmacy to fill the prescription (which is an option if you want). Also we made my post-​op appointment then as well.
Going into the room was probably the most stressful part as they started hooking me up. If I could change anything, I would have asked them to hook me up as close to being put under as possible, not the 7 or so minutes before being put under because I could hear my heartbeat which was freaking me out.
I woke up in a crazy daze. The first day was definitely the worst. However, what made it easy though was that they gave me a bag with all aftercare instructions that I need, my medicine (I also had to take antibiotics because of the punctured sinus), my teeth (I wanted to keep them) and also a Jamba Juice gift card and chapstick (which turned out to me AMAZINGLY useful).
At the end of the first day, he called to check up on me, which was really nice since the area where it punctured my sinus was one of the most painful things I’ve ever felt. It was nice to know that he cared about my progress and was checking in on me.
By the end of day two, I was off my pain killers (though there was definitely still pain on the sinus-​issue one, but it was manageable and I needed to drive). Post op appointment went great. The only trouble I had was it took me a long time (like two weeks) to open my mouth like normal.
All in all, he was a great doctor and I feel like he really took good care of me.

I was very impressed by the entire staff. Very friendly and were very helpful. For a person who has a fear of dental work (especially extraction), Dr Mildner really made me feel at ease — I even received a follow up call in the evening from the Dr himself to see how everything was going. Highly recommend this dental office!

I had an old filling on a wisdom tooth that was bothering me… My dentist suggested I get them all pulled to avoid future problems… I’m 40+ now and had been fortunate to not have to ever get them extracted as I’ve heard horror stories from fiends in the past. My dentist then referred me to Dr Milder. I was white knuckled for 2 weeks awaiting the day for my surgery… I made it to my appt and the staff was awesome. Dr Milder was very cool and put me at ease as well. I had them put me to sleep. I wake up an hour later. I was back in the office the next day. No bruising, no pain what so ever… I highly recommend Dr Milder and his staff if you are
terrified of getting oral surgery done!
I forgot to add which was really impressive was Dr Milder called me personally that evening to check on me and see how I was doing! How cool is that?!

I did not awaken one morning, a woman of a certain age, and decide that this is the day to have an impacted wisdom tooth yanked. No, it didn’t happen that way at all. What did happen was that at a routine dental exam a few weeks prior, our new family dentist proclaimed that he did not care for the x-​rays on that tooth and strongly suggested that a surgeon take a look. Enter Dr. Milder.
This is a comfortable office with a nice staff. Dr. Milder did his own exam and recommended extraction of the tooth. Though the offending tooth did not seem to be bothering me (now I realize that it was, slightly) it was in fact infected and set up for additional problems.
I had had dental surgery before but was very nervous nevertheless. The doctor and his assistant were excellent at attempting to put me at ease. The assistant told me what to expect upon awakening and medications were arranged for.
Surgery went well though the doctor told me it took about an hour because of the placement of my tooth. Two weeks later and one routine follow-​up under my belt, all is going well. Though I did not get that much talked about Jamba Juice coupon I would still highly recommend this office!

I have never been a fan or dental anything.
This place is not only cute but everyone is extremely friendly, professional, and personable.
I had my wisdom teeth pulled and the lady actually wiped my tears as I was being put under. They were extremely kind and I couldn’t have been luckier. I am so thankful to the Unilocalers who suggested my dentist (Dr.Barscht) who then referred me to the oral surgeon in the building across the street.
Even the follow up was quick and easy. The rumors aren’t rumors they are true… Dr. Milder gives you a going home bag with a Jamba Juice GC. I am a little disappointed about not getting a hard copy of after care instructions. It left me to scanning the internet.

This guy is awesome. He doesn’t believe in stitching up after wisdom removal so no swelling whatsoever for me. I was able to bounce back to my normal strange self the day after the procedure. Of course there was still some pain but the free (probably included in the bill) gift card to jamba juice helped out a bunch. No complaints here.

If I could give more stars I would. I would definitely recommend Dr. Milder to my friends and family.
I was super paranoid and scared of the whole procedure. I seriously couldn’t sleep for days before the surgery.
Dr. Milder and the dental assistant who assisted the surgery were so sweet and kind. I felt like I was being well taken care of.
I had my appointment at 12:30 PM and got out of the clinic at 3pm. I don’t know how long the surgery took place because I was under general anesthesia. I still wasn’t sure how I woke up lol.
It feels weird to say, but overall it was a pleasant experience to have my 4 wisdom teeth extracted with Dr.Milder. After the surgery I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you so much for taking good care of my anxiety, fear and of course my wisdom teeth.
