Bark Boulevard

Both me and my my dog Domino love Bark Boulevard! I’ve even drove my dog down from the SF bay to board her during our vacation.
The premises are clean, spacious, and each dog gets plenty of personal attention and play time. Coral is very flexible with pickup/​drop off times and prices are very reasonable as well. Dogs even get to stay in indoor bedrooms instead of concrete and metal cages outside.
By far the best dog sitter/​kennel I’ve used!

Bill and Coral did an amazing job taking care of my 12 year old Akita! I had reservations about having my dog stay somewhere for a extended period of time but Bill and Coral put my mind right at ease. They addressed every concern, were accommodating and fairly priced! After meeting them and seeing how my dog interacted at Bark Blvd. you can tell these people are genuine in the way they care for other’s pets. Though the outside may not look like the most inviting place, do not let it discourage you. Thank you again Bill and Coral for taking of Cleo!

I was highly impressed with bark boulevard. I left my pups here for a long weekend as I traveled and had full faith they were getting the best treatment. The best part is the fact that so much paper work was needed to prove your dog was healthy. It was definitely a pain to hunt down vet records to prove my dogs were «Clean», but knowing they check all the dogs before letting them stay lets me know my dogs will not catch something while there.
I usually make plans for my dogs to stay at home or my parents house, but when neither of those is feasible, I will bring them back to bark boulevard.

I am so glad I did my homework on this one. We were visiting places to board our dog and went to have a look.
I will never, ever leave my dog there. The place is beyond disgusting. The kitchen sink was overflowing with dirty dishes and the smell was unbearable.
The dogs are kept in separate rooms and none of the dogs were outside so I asked about the schedule. Basically, the dog go out by themselves on rotation every 4 hours for a maximum of 2 hours per day. That’s it. The rest of the time they are alone in their room. Some rooms didn’t even have water bowls.
I have no interest in keeping my dog inside for 22 hours per day and have him outside ALONE for only 2 hours. There is no way. I would rather pay double the price and have something clean and actually decent.
It’s not worth for me to keep my dog miserable with strangers who clearly have no concept of basic hygiene.

We only board our dog when we can’t take her when we travel, or when friends can’t watch her. She loves coming to Bark Boulevard! We will continue to board her at Bark Boulevard when we need to. They are awesome!

My Shi Tzu loves Bark Blvd. Coral and Bill are wonderful and friendly and obviously dog people. They have a young assistant, Jenson, that plays with the dogs and gives them a lot of exercise. He is very affectionate and our old, grumpy dog loves him.
We have been using them since the day they opened and will continue to give them 5 stars. We travel a long way and past several boarding facilities to get there.
We have never had a problem with communication and we rest assured that if there ever was a problem we would be alerted immediately.

Took my 6 month old puppy here for his first time overnight boarding, and I trusted my dog to be taken care of based on the raving reviews this place had. When we dropped my dog off, we asked to walk our dog to the room where he would be staying at and Coral said that «right now is not a good time, we have a few things going on». Not sure what that meant but we tried to not think much of it and left the puppy with her.
Next day, we went to pick up our dog around 9am. Our puppy came out and peed a little which was a weird sight to us since he has never peed from excitement before. As soon as we walked out of the complex onto the street, he peed and pooped the most we had ever seen right away which indicated that he hadn’t been taken out that morning at all! She said that they would be let out in the morning between 6−8am and I was extremely disappointed that my poor puppy had been holding for probably close to 12 hours. And on top of this, my puppy had diarrhea all day which made us question what he was eating while he was there.
I will never take my dog back to Bark Boulevard ever again, I am extremely disappointed that he was not taken care of and had an upset stomach all day after leaving there. I also think they need to have more than just two people working there in order to take care of the amount of dogs they take in.

Such a wonderful place! 24 hour care, I know my babies are ok! LOVE LOVE LOVE!

We got married last Friday, and wanted to include our very naughty pugs in both the ceremony and the formal photos. Bark Blvd is right beside our wedding venue, and we were so happy to board them there during the day and overnight on our wedding night! It was the first time our fuzzy kids were boarded, and the folks of Bark Boulevard made it easy and worry-​free — they are wonderful and we are grateful! Cannot thank you enough!

We love this place! We vacation in San Diego and occasionally drop our dogs here as we come into town. Coral and her son are very accommodating and listened to my concerns about my babies. I forgot food once and she fed the same brand which I loved. They have even given my dogs the same «room» so the experience is familiar. I feel like my dogs are safe, loved, and taken care of. Relieves MY anxiety about leaving them and my dogs come back happy. It doesn’t break the bank and there are no ‘upcharges”. Don’t let the appearance of the front worry you.

Here is what I’m basing a majority of my 5 star review on… the reaction our dogs have the moment we pull up to Bark Boulevard. They are soooooo excited to get inside. They start whining and scratching at the window as we park. And once they’re out of the car they are literally PULLING us to the door. We’ve used Bark Boulevard a few times and have been very happy with the care they’ve provided our 2 Shiba Inus. They always seem to enjoy their little vacation every time we pick them up.
As stated in other reviews, this is not the most high tech facility. There are no mounted cameras in each room. There isn’t a vet on call 24 hours a day just in case. But Coral and her son live on site so someone is always with the dogs. I also like that the dogs aren’t crated. Even though our dogs are crate trained, they have free run of the house most of the time so it’s nice that they have that sort of freedom when we leave them there. We also failed to provide enough food one time and they fed our dogs the same brand of food free of charge.
It’s true, Coral doesn’t always respond to emails right away and you won’t get detailed reports with pictures or video from her or her son about how your dog is doing. You may get a response like, «They’re doing fine. No problems.» And that’s it. If you want more detail then this may not be the place for you. But, I figure if the dogs were mistreated then they wouldn’t be excited to go back there.
Our dogs are like our kids and if something bad was happening to them there we’d notice in their behavior. But as I stated, Mika and Kayo seem to love their time at Bark Boulevard. And that’s good enough for me.

From the outside the place doesn’t look like much, and its not the Beverly Wilshire.
But the staff really cares about the animals. I could tell by the way Lila responded to the guy after only one day that he had spent a lot of quality time with her.
You cant beat the price!

I liked to have thought this was a secret of mine… I guess the secrets out!
Bark boulevard makes it possible for my fur baby to have a safe loving place to stay, and I still have enough money left to actually get out of town. Woohoo! You can tell they love the dogs. Thank you guys for being awesome! Odie loves you!

I was very pleased with my experience with bark boulevard. During the time of stay I had my dog for about 6 months and had never left him for vacation. Bill and Coral were very friendly and accommodating. They gave me a tour of the facility and all the dogs seemed happy in their private rooms. They sold me on multiple key features:
They didn’t require an extensive pre stay behavioral evaluation you had to pay for.
No extra fees for outdoor and play time which was 3 – 4 times a day
The price was all inclusive and they even gave me one night free for being a first time customer.
They have very flexible pickup and drop off times. I believe it was drop off/​pickup as early as 7am and late as 10pm. No charges for an extra day as long as you pickup before 10pm.
Someone on site ²⁴⁄₇. They live upstairs so someone is always on the property. I felt like their business was their lives and that they genuinely cared for the animals at the facility.
Private clean rooms some of which even had furniture.
It was hard leaving my dog for the first time but after picking him up from his 5 day stay he seemed to be his normal happy healthy self. This place has everything your dog needs for an overnight stay and I would highly recommend giving them a try.

I have to echo what everyone else says about Bark Boulevard… it is fantastic! I’m a new dog owner and Coral and Bill immediately set my mind at ease that Burdell would be well taken care of. I’ve utilized their services for doggy daycare and also for overnight stays, and my puppy loves going to Bark Boulevard. I never worry about him while he is there, and Coral and Bill do a great job of catering to his needs.
If you are looking for a wonderful place to take your dog with a simple payment scheme, I highly recommend Bark Boulevard. You (and your pup) will love it!

Ok, so it looks super sketch when you pull up, but it’s really nice inside! And the prices are unbeatable. I take my doggy here for boarding, and all the dogs get their own decorated room with furniture, a TV, etc. Their second-​dog discount (if you have two dogs who can share a room) is the best. The outside playtimes are separated by dog size and activity level. Since the owners live upstairs, they allow you to pick up your dog anytime, without a late/​early pickup fee. They really don’t have any extra fees that most other places have (like daycare fees when you’re already paying for boarding).
The owners are nice, their prices are cheap, and their policies are just so freaking convenient. Also, I think my dog likes it here – the owner has sent me pictures of him playing, which he doesn’t really do that often because he’s kinda antisocial. Highly recommended.

Coral and her son take such good care of my pups. They have been there twice in the past month (before this they had never been to a «boarding facility” — always cared for by family). Both times they have come home exhausted and happy. Prices are reasonable and you can rest assured that your furry family members are well taken care of.

I really wanted to give Bark Boulevard a try, but never got a chance. After reading about them online, they sounded like a good fit for our pup’s needs. I called and spoke with Bill, who is super nice and scheduled a time to come by and visit the place. It seemed like an OK place — clean, but not sterile.
The problem was that I asked Bill if I could reserve some dates to board my dog. He said I’d need to speak to his mom. I had already emailed her once with no response. He said he’d have her call me back. A few days later, no call back. I call and speak to Bill again — his mom is not available, but he’ll have her call me back. Another day, same old story. I call another time and leave a message. I send another email. Crickets. At that point I felt like if I can’t get a hold of them after more than a week to schedule an appointment, how can I trust them with my dog? Unfortunately for Bark Boulevard, they have lost my business, but I ended up using
to find a great sitter, so it worked out even better for me.

Great local business (owned and run by Carol and her son) that is competing in a very crowded market here in San Diego. Bark Boulevard offers lower prices than most places I checked out. It doesn’t offer as many services and amenities as other places, but it suits my needs very well. I like their simple business model. For boarding for example, you pay for however many nights your dog stays there and it doesn’t matter what time you drop your pet off or pick him up. The owners live on the premises and are the ones taking care of your pet, which another plus on my books. At night dogs sleep in their own individual rooms.
It seems to be a new business, so I expect to experience some growing pains. If you’re looking for a luxury pet resort, this is not it. The location is fairly simple, but that’s OK with me since all I’m looking for is a boarding place that will take great care of my dog and not charge me an arm and a leg.

This is a long review, but this whole thing was a big deal to me (and my dog)!
I was wrecked with guilt after I FINALLY, heart-​wrenchingly decided to board my dog for the very first time (he’s 7!). Thanks to reliable Unilocalers, I found Bark Boulevard and scrambled to get copies of vaccinations and everything in time before I left town. While boarding is not my first choice, I felt as good as I could about it after the numerous great reviews of Bark Boulevard and getting a nice tour from Coral beforehand. My boy wasn’t shaking during the tour (like he does at the vet) and he was already sniffing around the toybox, so I took this as a good sign.
Dogs that are boarding all get their own little private room. Some have TVs and even some furniture. They get their own private time in the yard and group play time, and they separate big dogs and little dogs. I was happy to know that he wouldn’t be shoved in a little cage for 2 nights. There are little sally ports set up all over so there’s no way your dog can «escape»!
Alright, so, I drop my boy off with his current favorite toys, a blankie that smells like me, his meals portioned and divided, and A LOT of treats. All the comforts of home, minus me. Coral said I could call anytime — and I did. When I finally came to pick him up (longest 2 days of his life, I’m sure), I was touched that she mentioned several distinct personality traits of my dog, which told me that she did spend a good amount of time with him. Aww. We also left with all of his toys and the blankie. What a relief to know he was well taken care of while I was away! I won’t be boarding him again unless I have to, but when I do, I will DEFINITELY come back to Bark Boulevard, and recommend it to anyone looking for a good, safe place to board their dog. I also will probably sign my dog up for some daycare time here, too, for times when I have training for work or whatever.
As another reviewer mentioned a webcam, I would also have loved a little text picture or something of him once a day! Man, I missed him SO much! :)
