We administer medications, including insulin shots and sub-​Q fluids at no extra charge.

Diana L.

Business Owner

Diana has been a professional pet sitter since 1991. Pets were always an important part of her family, so it was only natural that she found her calling in caring for other’s pets.

She was a volunteer for PAWS, allowing people with serious health issues to keep their pets when they were no longer able to care for them on their own.

She is a strong advocate of leash free parks, and was an original co-​chair of DOGS, a local park users group.

Diana served on the planning team that organized «The Pet Sitter’s Conference», the only national annual event promoted by pet sitters, for pet sitters.

She has also taught classes on starting and operating a pet sitting business for «The Learning Annex».

In an effort to help local independent pet sitting business owners stay in touch and support each other, she founded The Pet Net, an online networking group in 2001.

She continues to moderate the group and acts as «List Mom» to this day.

I have been working with Pawprints for over 11 years. Diane and Lorie are as is good as it gets in this town! I too am a pet sitter in the North County Inland areas (Dog Walks ‘N More) and we refer pet parents back and forth to each other. My fiancé and I have 4 backyard bantam Chickens and a CA Desert Tortoise at our home in North Park. We were out of town and left our brood entrusted to Diana. She is every bit the professional and regularly provided us updates on how our pets were doing. Not to mention that she also watered our vegetable gardens.
She also spent extra time with our two youngest girls, (only 4 mo. old) to ensure that they were handled daily to keep them tame and used to human interaction. I returned back to a happy bunch, and will certainly be calling on Diana again in the near future.
Her business is such a relief, as I don’t have to burden my friends to take time out of their lives to learn the idiosyncrasies of our pets, and then worry if their schedules are going to allow them to be consistent with stopping by every day. Diana runs a great business, and obviously takes great pride in her work and loves animals. Again, what a relief for going out of town!

Lori and Diana are fabulous. PawPrints has been 100% reliable, trustworthy, dependable, professional, friendly, helpful, sincere and loving in the care of our 2 dogs. Being new to town and needing to go on a work-​related trip, we had no choice but to take a leap of faith in trusting Lori and PawPrints with the care of our beloved dogs and our home. They excelled in every respect. We chose them by taking into account the extremely positive Unilocal (and other) reviews. I noticed that there is now one not-​perfect less than 5 star review. That is why I am adding my review to the mix. The 5 stars are extremely well deserved. All at PawPrints work extremely hard and communicate reliably via texting, email or calling at every point of contact with your home/​pets. We value their services immensely.

I wanted to give Diana a most recent review. She is definitely a busy woman, but has everything down and figured out when it comes to pet sitting.
I am happy with the service she has provided for our 11 year old baby. Our dog is definitely timid for people she doesn’t know, but as far as I know our fur baby does fine with Diana.

Update:
Kristin from PawPrints contacted me earlier this week, having just seen my review.
Kristin claims that she did in fact come to the apartment every other day (like we agreed) and that she performed all her responsibilities for Affinity. The tone of her message seems sincere, and I get the feeling that Kristin is genuinely trying to make things right. A lot of businesses don’t bother with that, so PawPrints goes up a star for this courtesy.
Ultimately, though, I will never know what actually happened — I wasn’t there. Kristin claims that she came, my roommate claims that she didn’t, and my cat isn’t talking. I have no idea which one of them is confused, and probably never will.

When it was deceided they had to stay back we had to think of options for them.
Board them, take the to L.A. to stay with family or call …

They sounded professional and we liked their promise to the consumer so we gave them a call.
We had looked into boarding, but we hated uprooting the babies from the home they love so much anway and the cost was crazy. We needed somebody to pick the mail up, and water the plants as everything is potted.
PAWPRINTS does all and more these things for the cost of visiting dogs.
We thought once a day at $ 21 would be fine at first
but then deceided for a few dollars more it would be far more benefical for our dogs.
I work from home so not having somebody there all day with would be a big adjustment to the routine. So for $ 39 a day we had the plants watered, dogs walked, fed and played with and the mail checked.
The dogs use a peepee pad to relieve themselves and Kristin not only cleaned up the soiled pads and floor she took the soiled pads out to the the can in the alley verses the wastbasket in the kitchen. Her initiative, not our request.
Having a professional come to do things really is so beneficial.
She did things we didn’t even think about asking her to do.
We met KRISTIN with the babies a couple days before we left and
she loved them and they loved her
and best of all…
we got back and the dogs were happy, the plants were happy,
WE were happy!

Lori has been taking care of my kitten when I have to be away for almost a year now. Not only does she take wonderful care of my little guy, but she is so flexible with my often-​changing travel plans. She is quick to respond, and very easy-​going. Lori even sends me pictures of him while I’m away! My kitty and I are so thankful for PawPrints!!! Meow!

We’ve been using PawPrints for two years now and I can’t recommend Kristin highly enough. She is such a warm, caring, and attentive person. She actually spends time brushing and playing with our cat, in addition to feeding her, cleaning the litter box, watering our plants, and picking up our mail. What a lifesaver! And our cat is always happy and relaxed when we get home so you can tell she’s very comfortable with Kristin. In fact, the first time our cat met Kristin, she immediately warmed up to her, which says a lot because she usually runs off to hide when someone new comes in to the house.

Our furball doesn’t require the physical or medical attention that a lot of pets need, but she does demand a heavy dose of social interaction. The level of service from Pawprints has enabled us to enjoy vacations relatively guilt-​free for the past couple of years.
My mother always used a neighborhood teenager for these purposes, and I still see the merit in that approach. But Pawprints offers a professionalism, great attention to detail, as well as the necessary TLC, and there is never a concern that they might not be able to fit you in. The rates they charge seem to be competitive too.
We were originally turned on to Pawprints because of the favorable Unilocal reviews. I figured it was time to come full circle on that.

There is only one person in all of San Diego who we would trust with our baby girl and that’s Lori from Pawprints. Lori has been petsitting for our wheaten terrier for almost 5 years and does an absolutely outstanding job. Originally Lori would come 3 times a day, but as our dog got older, she also started doing overnights in our house. She takes the best care of our doggy and leaves the house in perfect condition. She’s awesome about bringing in the mail and turning off and on the lights. We’re finally able to relax when we go out of town because we know our baby is in great hands.
I can not recommend Pawprints enough. They are, by far, the BEST pet sitting biz in SD!

My partner and I recently went on a three week trip to Europe. We have never left our cat alone for so long and to add a complication she recently became an indoor-​outdoor cat Abby and there was no way she was going to suffer through being made to remain indoors for three weeks. Our plans to have our relatives keep an eye on our cat fell through and two days before the trip I called PawPrints. Diana assured me it was no problem depsite the short-​notice and that our cat would be in good hands.
Diana was right, Abby was in great hands. Abby warmed up to Diana instantly when they met. During trip Diana updated me as often as requested and even sent a video of Abby. Toward the end of the trip there was a problem with our electronic cat flap and Abby got locked out went a MIA, but Diana came to the rescue and went out of her way to make sure Abby was located and safe, secure and well cared for in the house until we came back.
We will definitely use her services again in the future.

My husband and I do not consider all the little extra things we do for our dogs to be spoiling them although I am sure it would get to be a bit much for an outsider. Diana from Paw Prints met and exceeded every single expectation that we have. She loved our dogs while we were away on an extended trip. When we came home they were happy and well adjusted — which is the biggest compliment I can think of!
Diana is warm and friendly and our dogs adore her. A chance encounter with her long after we returned from our trip and the joy that burst out of our dogs to see her was the sweetest thing. We could not recommend her highly enough. She sent us text messages and pictures of the boys periodically and so we had zero anxiety about not being there. We will use her again at any opportunity!

When my wife and I first moved to San Diego, we’d moved from a town across the country where we had a friend who was a professional petsitter. She did at-​home petsitting for us, and we were worried it would be tough to find someone we trusted to do the same here in SD.
After reading reviews here we decided to call PawPrints, and we’re lucky we did. Lori came over for a thorough intro visit, made our four dogs and four cats (!) very comfortable, and has done a fantastic job ever since. She follows our complicated routines for so many animals, and she always leaves us detailed notes afterward and even gives us updates during her visits if there’s anything we need to be aware of – or even if she just wants to let us know everyone’s ok.
PawPrints, and especially Lori — highly recommended!

Compared to the stress and hassle of doping, caging and schlepping my «micro-​lion» around with me whenever I go out of town, hiring PawPrints is a NO BRAINER.
Fantastic home petsitting service! Upon signing up, Diana took the time come to the house and perform a thorough interview about the house, the pets, and the services required. I knew from then that my cat would be in great hands.
Service is professional. Scheduling is flexible (given reasonable lead time). They even check on & water your plants and offer to turn your lights on & off while you’re gone!
The cat was happy and healthy upon my return. For the value and peace of mind, PawPrints is a BARGAIN!

I have been using the service for months and months and months and I mean it when I say that they have saved my marriage! This is the deal; my husband is NOT a cat person. However when he asked me to marry him he was entering into a package deal, me and my cat! So after three months of marriage he was over the cat hair, over the cat box, over the food being sprawled innocently about the floor by my special needs cat. This is where Kristen comes in! Kristen has become my cats second mommy. She visits our condo twice during the week to help me with the daily cat duties. I cannot explain how much she has helped me out. I work a ton and she is able to help me give my little kitty the love and attention that she needs!
She leaves a note every time she is here letting me know how my cat is doing. She lets me know when I am running low on supplies and she even made a special visit when I had a kitty emergency.
I highly recommend PawPrints to any pet owner in need. They are highly professional and truly «pet-​people!»

I have been SO happy with PawPrints! I called Diana at the last minute before a trip because my friend bailed on me and she returned my calls quickly. She set me up with a pet-​sitter in my neighborhood who has been just wonderful. Since that trip I have used her several more times!
My 2 cats are always very well taken care of and my house is always in great condition when I get home. She always leaves a note about how the cats were when I was gone. Super professional, super service.
I never worried about my cats at all when I was on my trips. She offered to give me e-​mail updates, but after the first time, I didn’t bother because I knew they were well taken care of!

Diana gave me the peace of mind I needed when my husband and I would travel on weekends, leaving our two cats at home. She would not only feed and play with them, but she would make them feel comfortable. I recall one particularly hot weekend and she made sure there were fans on and windows open so they wouldn’t be quite as hot. She also brings in the mail and made sure our place looked «lived in» while we were gone.
We are moving out of the area and I can only hope to be able to find a pet sitting service that is good as Paw Prints.
