I bring my dog here every 2 months to get groomed and to get his nails trimmed. The owner is beyond nice and helpful. Not to mention my dog doesn’t mind coming here. The pricing isn’t bad either. The place is very friendly and clean and the groomers know what they are doing, cuz my dog has had some bad experiences before in other locations where we’ve visited before and I’ve never gone back. This is the only place I trust to take good care of my dog.

Horrible horrible BEWARE!!! Boyfriend picked up our poms and he is not picky at all and omg he was horrified. They tried to hand him my pom who was suppose to get a lion cut and she was uneven everywhere, like she looked like she lived on the streets! wasn’t even shaved in all the areas that needed to be. He made them fix her b4 he left. My other pom wasn’t cut correct either. He cut our poms 2 yrs ago for Xmas and did a horrible job but it was their first cut, they were puppies, and didnt knpw any better. we just moved back to SD gave them the benefit of the doubt and now they look horrible for the 4^th of July!!! If u know anything about dog grooming and like ur dogs to look nice and polished… AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

I took my puppy to this place because I checked the reviews and the pictures of similar puppy’s like mine… I regret taking my puppy to this place I have a morkie this guy who trim my puppy’s hair did such a bad cut it looks so choppy and ugly some hairs longer than others so uneven and I saw my puppy’s nails he cut them so bad too!!! I was so mad when my husband brought my puppy back to me!!! I would never take my puppy back to this place…

My American Eskimo has been going here forever. Tasia is the BEST! Tahoe can be loud, scared, and hard to deal with and at other groomers I would pick her up and come in to hear her crying… more like screaming bloody murder LOL. I NEVER have that problem here, Taisa is so sweet and gentle to my dog, Tahoe even gets excited to get groomed! She looks amazing and smells wonderful after. I highly recommend Canine Lodge & Spa for your grooming needs. call Tasia!

I really need to write an update to reflect the customer service of Canine Lodge. After my last negative review, the owner of this establishment actually tracked my info down and called me in order to remedy the situation I had with Coco. He apologized for the bad experience and then insisted that me (and Coco) give him another try with his best dog groomer. He was very confident in her quality of work, which would be provided free of charge considering the circumstance. His commitment to retaining customers and handling issues is impeccable and quite admirable in the service industry. I haven’t yet redeemed, but I am already a satisfied customer with his gesture alone. Thanks, man. You definitely make a good name for yourself.

I take my cat Stewie exclusively to this place. Stewie is a pure breed persian and often needs a hair cut for summer or if he has unmanageable knots. The owner is always accommodating and his prices are far more reasonable then groomers closer to my home. Plus when Stewie gets his lion cut he is super adorable.

I have taken my dog (Chase) here multiple times and only receive premier puppy service! Their $ 25 dog wash deal on Wednesday is awesome and my pup is bright white when I pick him up. Smiling faces and text message reminders are greatly appreciated! But there’s more… a free doggy tooth brush (they also do cleanings) when you visit. Victor is very knowledgable with our canine comrades and I will continue to take my four-​legged friend to this location… I give Canine Lodge and Spa 2 paws up! :D

I actually haven’t had my dog’s hair cut here yet. The morning I was going to take my pup in, I realized that his anal gland was swollen. I called the owner, Victor, to cancel my appointment so I could go to the vet instead. Victor told me to come in anyway so he could take a look. He has seen hundreds of dogs and wanted to make sure it was actually an infection before I spent $ 100 for the vet just to take a look at him. When we came in he said it was definitely infected and we talked for a while about home treatments and recommendations for a vet if it became necessary. He even asked his vet friend for advice. In the end I went to the vet but I can not help but feel extremely grateful to Victor’s time and advice. It’s not every day you find someone in the pet industry who cares so much for every single pet they encounter (Again, I didn’t even get my dogs hair cut that day). He went above and beyond my expectations for any groomer I’ve met and needless to say, I will be a loyal customer (after my pups bum heals, if course)!

I moved to San Carlos and still figure out ways to bring my dog here. Quick communication via text, he always squeezes me in when I text with little notice and does a great job for a great price. Highly recommend!

I love this place — the guy who owns/​works there is SO accommodating. They typically close @ 5p and he stayed open until 6:30p to give my stinky dog a bath.
To top it off — the prices are totally reasonable and they LOVE your pup!
Highly recommend!

The young lady that usually works on Tuesdays does an amazing job making over my little girls. She books in quick so I suggest making an apt ASAP. For her regular clients she will even shoot you a reminder text when it’s almost time to come in… I love the atmosphere in the shop! The owner Vic is there everyday and I usually find myself hanging out and chatting while they pamper my dog with a blue berry facial :) I highly recommend Canine Lodge and Spa mostly because my dogs look the same every time!

I love Canine Lodge & Spa. We’ve been taking our Tibetan Spaniels, Charlie and Winky here for the last year or so and every time we take them, the boys look amazing!!!
Winky is a wonderful dog and often gets rave reviews from groomers where ever we take him. Charlie on the other hand, can be a little whiny and sensitive. The guys at Canine Lodge & Spa have taken the time to get to know Charlie and realized what really bothered him was the nail trimming, they save that for last and he was a happy camper this time!
Thank you so much for making my babies look and smell amazing and for relieving the itchiness that comes with the medicine resistant fleas in our yard!

I’ve been going here for at least a year but my last visit– UNEXCEPTABLE. I brought both my dogs in and I would have to agree with Mike K. below. I knew there was something up. I paid for a wash with flee medication for my chihuahua– got home and when I looked closer, he was not washed at all. He still had the flee droppings in his fir. They did however, cut and bathe my Terrier as I would imagine it would be hard for them to get away with that one. They are robbing people! Taking payment for a service not rendered. You’ve been warned. Although I’m sure after two reviews of the same incident maybe now they will straighten up. Good luck!
Response: I’m sorry it wasn’t flea medication it was flea medicated shampoo or at least that is what I was told. I used to love coming here and looking for a new place just sucks but I truly feel cheated. I can’t remember the girls name to be honest but it wasn’t the usual one, a guy was there too not sure if it was you or not.

These guys are awesome! I am a recent transplant to San Diego and just moved to the Hillcrest neighborhood about 8 months ago. Since that time, I’ve been having my pups groomed at the Hillcrest location which is a short walk from my house. I have 2 rather high maintenance dogs that are a challenge to groom. They are Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers and very hard to get them to stay still. Charisse and Vic seem to have the magic touch and after a day of beauty, Seamus and Roxy look like they stepped out of a magazine! Vic is great about scheduling a time that is convenient for me. They are even open on Sundays!
They also board. I was evacuated from my apartment last week after a car ran into the 2 lower units. The pups were being groomed at the time and weren’t home when the car hit. After I found out that I would not be able to return home, Vic agreed to keep them at their boarding facility until we could return home. While they were boarded, he sent me pics of the pups playing and having an awesome time at Puppy Camp! They come back to me yesterday happy and thankfully, very tired!
I’ll be using them again in a couple of weeks.
I can’t recommend them highly enough!

So this is a first for me (taking the time to post a review, that is) but having gone through nightmare experiences in the past and having finally found a breath of fresh air, it only seemed appropriate to spread the word… or at the very least leave my feedback.
I have a 2-​year-​old 3 pound Chihuahua/​Yorkie mix (named Izzy) and have literally spent the last two years trying to find a groomer that has the full package. My criteria are relatively simple: quality grooming and quality care. I’ve always been a bit baffled by dog grooming shops where it’s very apparent that the employees don’t like dogs. It’s sort of like going to a pediatrician who doesn’t like kids; it’s essentially destined for a bad outcome. After countless upon countless of terrible experiences, I have at last found a place that has met my standards (and then some). I actually stumbled upon this shop by accident (was running errands in the area) and just picked up a phone number. The shop itself looked nice and clean (which anyone who has looked for a groomer knows is not always the case!). I made a call a few days later expecting the same kind of service that I was accustomed to from other places in the area (rude, inflexible, overpriced, etc.) and was shocked from the very beginning by the gentleman I spoke to (who I think turned out to be one of the owners). He was warm, friendly and accommodating. Izzy is a great dog but she gets a bit timid and needs that extra reassurance when I’m not around. He listened to my concerns and made me feel heard and valued. I have a rather tedious schedule and he was super cool about working around my busy life and getting us in right away (the very next day, actually).
Upon dropping Izzy off, the guy I had spoken to on the phone was there to greet me and the other groomers all said hi. It was just a really nice vibe. They were sweet about making Izzy feel comfortable (which I admit isn’t always the easiest thing to do). So already they’d sort of met my criteria about quality care. At this point, though surprisingly pleased, I was still a bit skeptical about how the actual service would turn out. I waited the first ten minutes and felt more than comfortable leaving. After a few errands and lunch I came back and sure enough (check mark for the second criteria regarding quality grooming), Izzy looked great! She was happy, she looked good, she smelled good (really good, actually… been meaning to find out what shampoo they use!)…it was all around above and beyond my expectations.
Anyway, I know (as much as anyone) that there are tons of options in the area but I have never had a better experience than here. I’ve been back twice now and it’s officially MY place. It’s the first place I’ve been to where I trust that my dog is going to be treated right and that the money I’m paying is actually going to result in quality grooming. It’s sort of a strange world we live in when excellent service isn’t the norm but if that’s what you’re looking for (excellent service, that is), I highly recommend this shop.

We used to take out puppy here until one of their stylists lied about washing him when we dropped him off to be groomed. I noticed his tear stains were still really bad and he’s usually bright white after a grooming. upon closer inspection he still smelled like our shampoo as we had washed him a few days earlier.
When we called to inquire, the girl lied and said he had been washed, but offered to wash him «again». This was incredibly annoying as he had been at the groomers for the better part of 5 hours and we would have to bring him back. We rescheduled for the next day.
The next day when we got there, the owner confirmed that our dog hadn’t been washed and apologized. The owner to his credit was incredibly nice about the whole thing but he told us they had used our dog in a promotional video the day prior and they never asked out consent. What really pissed me off was that when I paid she never mentioned that they didn’t wash him and was more than happy to take the full price of a grooming and my generous tip.
So basically they lied about washing our dog even though he was there for 5 hours, then used him in a promotional video for their business without prior consent… After all that, the least he could have done was offer a free grooming to make up for the insult and inconvenience.
NEVER going back to this place. For me it’s not about the money but rather trusting someone with a member of our family. If they lie about something as minor as washing our dog, what kind of lies would they do if something happened to him while he was in their care?

((To the do-​gooders at Canine Spa & Lodge — I apologize for the tardiness of this review… WTF was I thinking to have taken almost a month to write this? *facepalm* I grovel at your merciful feet.))
Now onto my review
I took my precious pooch Raja and my canine-​nephew Rufus here to get a good ol’ fashion washing /​nail clipping and haircut for the Ruf-​Dawg. (meanwhile I headed to Hillcrest Farmers Market). I’ll admit I was a bit dubious since there arent very many Unilocal reviews ( Unilocal is my proverbial yardstick for quality control)…but I was willing to give ‘em a try.
A few hours later I picked them up and was very seriously flabbergasted at Rufus’ new ‘do! He looked sooo handsome! (remind me post a before/​after pic) He was one of the scruffiest looking poochs’ I’ve ever dealt with but the magic hands at Canine Spa made him look so freaking amazing. He, and my Raja smelled divine, behaved so well and came out pretty happy with tails high and wagging. That in itself was worth it.
Bonus? They have a coupon for $ 10 off in those «Uptown» magazines that they conveniently keep in their place of business. So for around $ 45, I walked out super satisfied.
Will I be back? You bet your tail I will!

Found this place while walking the antique stores on Park Blvd, and decided to check it out, scheduled an appt for a week later!
I stopped in because the usual place I bring my little guy cut his ear pretty bad last time and left a nasty little gap on his ear! The girls at Canine Spa & Lounge were super nice, and loved my dog! Before I knew it, she was holding him in her arms and he was calm, and he’s usually spastic, so this was a good sign!
I can tell they treated him well when I picked him up, and they did a great job on his haircut!
Great people, great prices, I’ll be back! If you get a chance to check the place out, do it, you won’t be sorry!

After being a loyal customer of Natalie’s Best Friends Grooming, I got a call from the new owners, (much to my surprise,) offering a special deal. I’m not one to pass up deals, so I shot right over.
Baxter has never looked so handsome as he when he walked out of that salon! (Ok, that’s not necessarily true… he’s pretty handsome all the time, but they did a great job.)
The only weird thing is that the main phone line is a cell phone… making it awkward to call and leave a voicemail for an appt anytime outside of normal business hours. I’m guessing they’re still getting everything set up?
Either way, check them out, you won’t be disappointed.

We recently started going to Natalie’s Pet Grooming at a friend’s suggestion.
Natalie does an outstanding job grooming our mini schnauzer. We’ve had trouble finding a groomer who knows how to do a proper schnauzer cut, and were very happy to find that Natalie does a great job at this.
She is also a genuinely nice person, a real pleasure to deal with.
