History

Established in 2013.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in mathematics (with a minor in computer science) from the University of San Diego and my doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in mathematics from the University of California at San Diego. I have been tutoring students since I was in high school, including students from Coronado High School, La Jolla Country Day School, USD, SDSU, UCSD, and Australia (online)! More recently, I have been tutoring students from University City HS, Torrey Pines HS, Grossmont College, and professionals studying for the TEAS V and GMAT.

I also have teaching experience. At USD, I taught Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, Calculus I, Calculus II, Applied Mathematics for Science and Engineering I, and Applied Mathematics for Science and Engineering II. At SDSU, I taught Fundamentals of Math. When I was in grad school, I was a teaching assistant for Math 20D (Intro to Differential Equations), Math 104 (Number Theory), and Math 110 (Partial Differential Equations) for several quarters.

My name is Archie and I LOVE math (math is FUN!)! I have loved math since I was in second grade. I loved math so much that in my senior year in high school, I took AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC at the same time, and then majored in math in college, and went on to grad school to learn as much math as I could!
