I researched for several months before deciding to go with ISS Designs for two wall units in my apartment. I could not be happier. I was very particular with what I wanted, and their design team worked with me to ensure that everything I wanted was included. The cabinets and drawers have custom depths so that cords for a printer and table lamp would be hidden behind the drawer and plugged into an outlet that the wall unit covered. All the parts came in two shipments and were neatly packaged. They were very patient with me while I meticulously went over all the parts that were shipped. I chose not to install them myself and instead used a contractor that they recommended. The installation cost was worth every penny. What should have been a relatively straight forward installation took a considerably long time, not because of the design, but because of problems with my walls. Despite the difficulties, the installation was outstanding, and the installers made sure the shelving were at heights to my liking. The two units are stunning and exactly what I wanted to meet my storage needs. I highly recommend ISS Designs.

As I was wrapping up a 1963 built Mid-​Century Modern condo renovation in Dana Point and filling it with my NYC apartment furniture plus a few era pieces found at swap meets, I stopped and took stock. Sizing up the last wanting space — my thoughts flashed to the custom shelving ad I saw in Atomic Ranch home design magazine. Modern «Royal» modular shelving reminiscent of the 1950’s Danish interior architect Poul Cadovius would fill the space: stylistically, provide much wanted storage, and double as a stand-​up bar. Logging on to the ISS Designs Website and browsing through the online gallery of preconfigured units and customization options I was sold — and requested material samples right away. Two days later receiving a FedEx box with six varieties of wood-​grain laminate swatches and I scanned the letterhead and realized their office was 15 minutes down the coast in San Clemente. I made plans to drop in and see if there was a showroom. Because everything they make is a one of a kind custom build, the only full samples were units built for their specific office furniture needs. But they were ample to gauge quality understand the build process. I sketched out a design on a scrap of paper with Kristy and in a few days Jean emailed me a detailed computerized design blueprint. After two more rounds of back-n’-fourth tweaking the design I was ready to choose materials. Although the wood laminate grain was realistic enough, I made a last minute impulse decision to go with the more expensive walnut veneer to match my new custom cabinets. I was told to add a week to the delivery time since the veneering process was much more labor intensive. I thought; great, that still gives me a week buffer before my birthday party and the big reveal of my new home to an extended group of friends. The veneer cabinets arrived on time and are beautiful. I found them easy to assemble and a perfect fit, I couldn’t wait for the brushed aluminum hardware to arrive to complete the installation. I sent Laura an email asking about the final delivery and she phoned me immediately to explain the hardware, the only components manufactured overseas, had been held up in customs due to another company’s materials shipped in the same container. She apologized for the inconvenience and promised she would do whatever possible to get me the hardware before my home reveal. As the week went on I resolved myself to the fact that the shelves would not be ready for the party. A pile of walnut veneer boards and the computerized rendering would have to suffice. The eve before the big day I received a call from ISS D. President John Clark, telling me the parts had just arrived at their warehouse and that he could hand deliver them within the hour. «Really. Wow.» Laura was true to her word. An hour later John arrived with the hardware and a few assembly tips. They went up without a hitch and were the hit of the party, making my birthday and home complete.

We ordered several shelving designs a few months back. Shelves for our kitchen for extra storage, one for our office to hold our books, a hallway shelf-​drawer unit and an office shelf-​desk unit. All used the floor to ceiling spring mounting, which did not require any drilling of screws to wall, etc. They were easy to install and made a huge difference for our storage needs. We like the modern look of the units. We were pleased with the design team at ISS. After giving them our measurements, they made a few recommendations for using the space that we had available that worked very well. Since we have installed them, we were surprised with the strength of the shelves. We had looked at a few other manufacturers’ products, but we choose ISS based on decent pricing and the ability to self-​install. We are happy with our purchase and would recommend ISS to others.

ISS Designs shelves are awesome! One of most important fact its easy to assemble and very light weight. My husband put it together for our yoga studio in San Juan Capistrano. They delivered all the parts with no problem and in no time we had a beautiful and eco friendly shelves for our students. We are enjoying the function and the design of it.

I kept seeing ISS Design pieces in Dwell magazine and was impressed with their sleek modern designs and materials. saw their studio in San Clemente and purchased a mohagony wall/​desk unit for our home office. Customer service was helpful and excellent, Kristy ROCKS! It took us 2 days to put the unit us, instructions suck, but it turned out great! Very happy with the piece.
