Quick and efficient! Gotta love that. Exactly as quoted. Honest and friendly called this morning, and got right in. Check took a few minutes and I was on my way with my certificate.

I read a few positive reviews before coming here and agree, they are spot on. I was helped by a very nice man who asked me to fill out a short form. He drove my car in for the test. By the time I finished the form and read through one email (about 5 minutes), he came back inside and told me I was good to go. Truly the fastest, friendliest service ever.

Had a small issue in that I didn’t see that there would be a charge even if I didn’t pass and that wasn’t explained to me. However, when I went back for the retest they gave me a discount and so it all worked out OK. Other than that they are quick and easy.

I live close by, came in about 4:30 was out about 4:35. Wow I think I said less than 2 sentences to the technician during the whole process. Quick & easy. Only issue may be $ 30 – 40 for a 5 minute service?

Pretty basic and standard place to get a smog, nothing fancy. I found them in the penny saver with a coupon for $ 29 CASH ONLY which includes the certificate. They were the cheapest I found so that’s why I went, I only needed a basic smog. There were 2 people waiting before me but I was still in and out of there is max. 20 minutes. I can see how the guy does come off kind of rude, he just does the smog and that’s it no small talk.
However if you fail, It’s only $ 20 cash and doesn’t include a retest. You would have to pay $ 29 CASH again if your brought it back here to get retested. You can’t come get retested until you put 150 miles since you brought it to be retested and fixed of course. He keeps the coupon so If you come here to get retested you don’t need to get another coupon.
My review was for a 2006 car so I don’t know how it works or pricing for older cars because that is different.

Had a coupon from a local paper ($ 29ish cash only) for a smog test. No complaints, very quick service. Not a flashy place, but gets the job done.

NO FREE RETEST AND EXTREMELY RUDE! Had my car smogged two years ago by Danny at this location. He was fast, professional and did his job. He questioned me about my aftermarket parts, I showed him the California EO # and he looked it up in the ARB database — no problem.
Came in two years later with the same vehicle and all I get is «It will be $ 60» from Mr. Le. Even though I was honest and had CARB EO stickers for every aftermarket part, he was still looking for problems. California screwed up and said part # 6604 was approved… my part was 66 042. Mr. Le failed my vehicle, took my money and suggested I «sell my vehicle on the black market». Now I have a permanent failed SMOG test on my vehicle report and am $ 50 poorer, because of him not doing his job.
California’s aftermarket part system is broken and the tech should be able to interpret it. California meant 6604X, just like they meant…

Many of these vehicles and parts DO NOT EVEN EXIST! You get the point — California makes mistakes and the tech needs to understand that.
Bottom line — avoid EZ SMOG San Clemente like the plague.

Rudest person in San Clemente! Went in 30 min before closing and the Asian guy working there acted like he was doing a favor for me. Wanted me to come back the next day, when I told him my registration was due tomorrow he sneered at me and asked why i waited til the last minute. I’ve never been treated taht way, what a jerk!!! I’ll NEVER GO BACK HERE AGAIN!!!

Wife went in today after waiting for over 15 minutes and being completely ignored, she left. She had even called asking if she needed to make an appointment and was told no. After hearing from friends that this place is bad news and now our first hand experience we will NEVER go back there.

Found a coupon for $ 25 smog test, but it said anything older thatn 1996 would be extra. So I called for a quote and was told $ 49. When I arrived he said there was a mis communication and the coupon would not work at all. He still gave me the quote because he is a man of his word. Great place, highly recommended!

Rip Off Alert $ 61.25 for initial failed test because the computer on the vehicle hadn’t reset after a battery change that day. Then they wanna charge a additional $ 61.25 for a retest. No Free Retest

Use coupon in penny saver and present coupon BEFORE the job is done or he won’t accept it for whatever reason. Good price, quick job. Check it out.

I had to go here twice. First time, my «Check Engine» light was on. Alas, failure by that sensor reading alone.
The light had been on for a while since a rat chewed on some wiring under the hood. It didn’t affect the car’s performance at all and the dealer and an independent repair shop quoted me $ 300 to repair. «Forget it», I said at the time. But now the DMV really wanted a smog test so I was forced to get it repaired. So I took the car to another independent shop that just fixed the wiring harness instead of replacing it thus saving me over $ 200. (See my review of Neighborhood Car Care!).
So then I took the car back and my Accord passed the test without a problem. Sean, the tech, was very pleasant and courteous. In the end, not only did he save me time, but money too. Other «check only stations» wanted $ 60 – 80 to do the test. I was out of there for just $ 43.
Good service, honesty and I saved money… Woohoo! As good as it gets!

It is a bit pricey at $ 59.95, but with the coupon, it’s just under 50 bucks, but that also includes the electronic transmittion of the certificate to the DMV which other places will charge $ 8.
So for under 50 bucks, I was in and out in under 20 minutes.
More tips: Make sure you have a relatively new battery in your system, and also drive around in the freeway or at least 55 mph before you do the smog check. You have a higher chance of passing if you do.
