Posting this review as a happy customer! We were looking to renovate our closets in our new house and explored the option of IKEA vs. Closet Factory. IKEA closets come only in standard sizes and design options, none of which were meeting our needs and leaving our closet space underutilized. Hence, we decided to explore Closet Factory.
We worked with Jeri Carpenter on designs. She recommended some great ideas that would optimize our closet space utilization as well as meet our budget (approx. 3K) — she converted a standard closet to almost a walk-​in design that we’re loving. We were also impressed with the installation team. Elhoud & team arrived on time, brought covers for carpet, removed and disposed old closet materials, and used professional tools for a neat finish. Installation was complete in 5 hours.

When the walk-​in closet system that came with our house started falling to pieces, I got a few folks in to give us design ideas and quotes on a new closet system. We got prices ranging from $ 4 — 15K — for the same small space! I wandered into Closet Factory in San Carlos with a sketch of my closet with dimensions after reading some reviews on Unilocal.Debbie sat down with me, designed a closet, and gave me prices with a few different finishes She then showed me around the factory where they actually make stuff! That, and the reasonable price, made my decision for me.
Just had my closet installed and couldn’t be happier, (well, maybe if I actually still fit into a few of my favorite dresses…) The installation was well coordinated, the three guys did a great job protecting my floors, and beautifully finished when they were done.

I am writing as a return customer to Closet Factory. I used them for a walk in closet two years ago and loved them. Responsive, clean install, respectful.
This time, I used them in our new house for the same thing. It took quite awhile to get an appointment scheduled, but the guy who came out was nice (Brandon) and helpful. Did some initial designs in our living room and initial pricing.
After that, it all went downhill. It took no less then 4 days to return emails and despite my very clear statement that Thursday was the only day they could install, I was scheduled for a Wednesday without checking. So by the time they rescheduled, it was 8 weeks past my signing the contract.
Next step: install. Very nice, professional installers… who had outdated designs. Shelves in the wrong place. Custom jewelry drawer not custom and without a lock.
So, I note on the contract and contact the office about getting the drawer fixed.
It’s been two months and I keep getting different answers. «Oh yes, we made a mistake. But we can’t get you on the calendar to fix it. Take the drawer out yourself and leave it on the porch. WAIT — no. That’s too hard. Someone will do that for you. WAIT — no. We can’t get you on the schedule. We will SEND you instructions to remove it. WAIT — no. We can’t actually do ANYTHING THAT WE COMMIT TO.»
So, roughly 15 phone calls, a peppering of emails from different employees, zero commitment and a bunch of failed promises led me here. Next step: call corporate.
Honestly, I like their work. But should you chance something being wrong, then left holding the bag? I will tell you it’s not worth your time or energy.

I worked with Cindy on my closet and felt so taken care of. She really knows the business and cares deeply about her clients, making herself available for questions and in-​person visits. In a crowded market of competitors, Closet Factory has (seemingly) the highest integrity and most personal feel. The only reason I didn’t give a five star review is because their show room was a little lackluster, which deterred me at first, but I believe their new one is opening soon ;)

For anyone that has lived in a city, you know it can be tight! We like to keep a clean and tidy apartment but somehow it never felt 100% clean.
I saw a friend’s apartment that had some work done by the Closet Factory, and I knew they were going to be our answer! I gave them a call and a designer came to see me later in the week. He showed me how I could truly optimize the space — which we all know is close to nothing.
An hour later, we had three designs:
(1) a closet that fit adjustable shelving (that was deep so things actually fit on the shelf!) and adjustable rods for hanging clothing
(2) a new cabinet for the laundry area that fit about 4x’s more stuff
(3) a tall shoe cabinet that fit perfectly into the corner of the room behind a closet door that was before unusable space and fit the equivalent of three shoe racks and some
Their price is in line with the quality and installation went smoothly and on-​time. We couldn’t be happier! Almost every guest that comes over pays us a compliment, which is a definitely plus. Most of all, though, the apartment finally feels clean, and somehow our city apartment seems a lot bigger. I would highly recommend Closet Factory to anyone interested in fixing the problem and cleaning up your home!

Loved working with Cindy D. She listened, was responsive to my needs and worked within my budget goals. The office staff was also wonderful. A couple of the rods were too tight and needed to be cut back slightly. They made sure the adjustment was done promptly. The installer was professional and very helpful. All in all, I experienced quality customer service. I’d definitely used Closet Factory again in the future.

I worked with Ronnie to design our master bedroom closet. It went from shabby to chic in no time. Ronnie took all the measurements and then we sat at my dining room table to develop the design. He was very professional, listened to my ideas and provided valuable input into the fine details of the closet. The closet was delivered and installed on the date expected. The installers were timely, tidy and respectful of our home. My husband and I are so happy with the end result. Thank you, Ronnie and the Closet Factory team for a job well done!

I just had my closet installed yesterday, 10÷15÷15. This project, though one of the smaller ones based on the reviews I’m reading, began in July with Carol, one of the design coordinators. Carol was very helpful throughout the process and easy to contact through the three months. She appreciated that I had a budget but I wanted to create something appealing and efficient. She definitely accomplished my goals. My closet was transformed from a rudimentary walk-​in with wire shelving to a very organized and good looking space. Even with the simple design of white shelving and cedar backing, the design is such a significant step up. Her measurements and planning were spot on and she included me every step of the way. I will have no hesitation recommending Carol as a design coordinator and point of contact. Also, Elouth, who installed the unit himself, worked quickly, was clean and respectful in my home. Thank you all!

A few weeks after I wrote my review about Closet Factory not honoring its Lifetime Guarantee, Uri, the owner of the San Carlos franchise contacted me. He agreed to repair my desk at no charge to me.
They finished the repair on Saturday. The new desk top looks great.

Well I had a pleasant meeting with Ish whom came out an measured my closets. To follow up I had a meeting scheduled to go over designs a couple weeks later. Ish called me the day of my appointment to cancel and say that his computer was not working. The designs that he created where on them and hes working with someone to get it fixed, and that we would need to reschedule. The day of my next appointment Viji called and told me his computer was still not working. I followed up and left 2 messages a week later I have heard nothing. As of 2 days ago Viji told me that my estimator (Ish) was with another client and I would get a call back within 45min but never heard back. This makes me a little upset at the fact I took the time to go over where I wanted all my closets expecting a design/​estimate I haven’t received. Now hearing that he’s meeting with other clients makes me feel that his computer issues are just excuses. I hate trying to chase companies that don’t have great service edict from the beginning to I’m done I’ll start over with another company.

I worked with Jeri on my master and guest closet. It was a GREAT experience and I am so happy with the outcome. The entire process was easy. Jeri is fantastic to work with and has great design skills.

It took us A LONG TIME to finally conclude on a closet supplier and the design for our master bathroom and walk-​in closet remodeling, and all due to the untiring effort of Brandon who is extremely pleasant, courteous, responsive, and creative with the design. Brandon’s can-​do attitude made this arduous process a lot easier than otherwise, not to mention they offered equally competitive pricing than other closet shops that have lesser services.
Now that our installation has completed, I must say we’re equally impressed by all the people that we’ve worked with from engineering to coordination to installation: David, Pamela, Viji, Ramon, all of them were always responsive and courteous. Whenever there were any installation issues as can be expected for a highly custom design (and a perfectionist client), their focus was always on how to make sure that everything was done right and to my satisfaction, rather than on how to make less work for them. We were also very happy with the high quality work and how nice the closet and vanity look, which both exceeded our high expectation.
We started with getting design consultations from four shops from the area. One that seemed to have good value and rating let’s called that Shop V, turned out to focus more on lower end closets and the designer did not bother to make many measurements. We hadn’t heard anything after weeks when she apparently did not do anything, so that was a waste of time.
We were looking to do exotic wood veneer for our vanity cabinets to be inline with our modern theme, and all shops have different exotic wood choices. At the beginning just a few months ago, Closet Factory did not have as many selection for exotic wood veneers, so we focused on working with the other two shops, though all along Brandon was the most pleasant to work with, from being very detailed with the initial measurements, to coming up with a proposed design in very short order. Compared to when we’re working with the other two vendors, each iteration of design changes (we’re perfectionists, which is not always a good thing) took a long time. So we decided to check with Brandon again as he has always been very efficient with making design changes (all shops use computer design programs, so it’s a matter of how responsive and how proficient the designer is with the program), thinking that may be we have to be less choosy on the exotic wood options.
But not for Brandon — upon hearing our comment about their exotic wood choices, he took the initiative to expedite their on-​going process of exotic wood sourcing. In the end they have far more choices than the other two vendors, which made this a much easier choice for us. Brandon bent over backwards to make sure that we get what we wanted within our budget, and even after we’ve committed on the final design and pricing, he would come back to suggest another improvement which would cost them more work and materials, and the resulting design was much nicer than otherwise. We also went back and forth with the choice of wood for the walk-​in closet (finally decided to be solid walnut as shown here), and Brandon was equally courteous to accommodate.
Brandon’s professionalism is second to none. He’s always pleasant and responsive about our design changes, focusing on making sure that we’ll be truly happy with the end product rather than just making a quick sale. With the equally good fulfillment team during the installation process, it’s clear to me that it’s the culture of the company and management and not just individual hit or miss. I would highly recommend Closet Factory if you’re looking for a shop with truly custom design (they were the most flexible among all three on what dimensions can or cannot be done), high quality, competitive pricing, and great customer service.

Absolutely phenomenal! Closet factory was recommended to us by a friend and we were pleased every step of the way. We weren’t really sure what we were looking for, but Debbie was able to guide us along in the process and make fitting recommendations. Install was super easy and they were super flexible when we had some last minute changes in closing. We’re in love with the closets, they are functional, beautiful, and high-​quality. Oh, and they custom cut everything right in San Carlos :-)

We contracted with this company to design and install some closets for our home. Some were for the garage and others for a guest bedroom. While the closets were beautiful, we felt there was a problem of design in one corner of the guest bedroom. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, the owner of the company himself (Mr. Uri Rosenberg) called me, viewed photos I sent them and agreed there was a problem, proceeding to fix the problem in a very efficient and professional way and was very graceful about it.
The correction involved serious labor, time and materials but it was done to our total satisfaction and at no cost to us. Here is a case of a business delivering quality work and going out of their way to be sure we are totally satisfied… AND WE ARE VERY SATISFIED! Thank You Closet Factory!

We had a closet installed by Uri and his team at Closet Factory 2 years ago in our condo. I thought my wife would like having everything organized, but I underestimated how much she was going to LOVE it. Since it was installed, she’ll occasionally walk out of the closet and verbalize how great it is to have everything in its place.
Last month, we put the condo on the market and hosted two separate open houses. Our realtor gave us the feedback from the open houses and mentioned specifically how much people liked the closet when they walked through our place. The people who ultimately made an offer and bought our condo pointed out the closet as one of the things they loved about our property.
Now that we’re moving into a house, we are going to hire Closet Factory again to not only build our closet but also a pantry. It is one of the first things my wife added to the budget as a «must have».
It’s hard to put a value on how you feel at the beginning of each day when you go to get dressed and everything is in its place. But it’s a pretty cool feeling, and Uri’s team at Closet Factory are great to work with from inspiration to installation.

I recently moved into a new condo that had very little in the way of bathroom storage or countertops. After checking out a few freestanding cabinets, I decided it would be worth it to bring in professionals.
Cindy from Closet Factory came out quickly for a great initial consultation. She took the time to hear about what I’m interested in aesthetically, and immediately understood my vision for the finished product. Using a cool computer program Cindy was able to show me a rendering of my new cabinets and countertop would look like immediately, which really put my mind at ease.
Installation was quick and painless. The workers were in and out in no time and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the results. Cindy did a great job coordinating the built in cabinetry and countertops with the style and materials already in the condo. It looks like it was made for my home.

In August we were looking for cabinets for our kitchen remodel, and we were in San Carlos area and decided to stop by Closet Factory. Kind of hard to find, but really glad we decided to go in. They had one closet on display, but quality was what we were interested in. We set up an appointment with Cindy David to come to our condo & take measurements and estimate. Cindy was the best, she was very knowledgable of their product and triple checked the measurements. Their prices are on the pricey side, but the quality and construction of their closets are top notch. It took about 3 weeks to get closets and new sliding doors to arrive.
The installation crew was also very friendly, knowledgable, and quick installers. They had to disassemble our old closets, clean up, and install new closets & new sliding doors. They were complete in around 4 hours. It is money well spent to have Closet Factory redo your old flimsy closets. Great job Cindy & your install crew. We highly recommend Closet Factory.
