Decided to try this place. I got a salad to go and while the ingredients were fresh, I couldn’t really enjoy them because they were SOAKED in salad dressing!!! It was even covering the entire bottom of the to go container. So disappointing. Hope to have a better experience next time.

I love this place! The food is always so fresh and the prices are reasonable. I enjoy every meal I eat here. The employees are always smiling and very nice.

As much as I like to support local places rather than big chains I can’t help but LOVE salata. Whenever I come by I can tailor my salad to exactly what I’m craving or looks freshest right in front of me. Honestly, the options almost seem endless. If I’m not feeling a big salad I can opt for a wrap which is equally delicious. I’ve noticed some grumpy workers on the line and on occasion there are some ingredients that don’t always look fresh but generally, no complaints about this place!

Love, love, love Salata. Awesome salads and wraps! Can’t say enough how much I love this place. Everything is super fresh! And they have tons of awesome dressings, chipotle ranch is my fav. The cucumber wrap is my fav. The pita chips are to die for. The only down side is the price. It’s a bit pricey but you get what you pay for!

This is a great place for lunch if you are on a health kick. Great fresh salads with lots of options to choose from. I really like their ginger lime dressing. Only reason why I don’t come here more often is because it can get kind of pricey. the added items can really added up quickly, like adding avocado, shrimp, or soups, you can easily rack up almost $ 30 for two people. PS. Parking there is atrocious during lunch rush.

Lord, thank you for this blessing! I recently moved to the area and my coworker suggested I give this restaurant a try. I was not disappointed. I’m not even some big time salad eater, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t eat this place three times in a row. Lol The salad bar variety is excellent. I’d only add pecans, but that is just my preference. The small is more than enough to fill you up. This place will make you like salad again. You won’t be sorry. Happy Unilocaling!

Salata is great! I’ve been a regular here every since they opened, and I come back with my mom whenever I’m home in Stone Oak. First thing worth noting is that this location is really, really prime. Located right across from a hospital amongst a plethora of private practices, this place is booming from 11:45 to 1:00 on weekdays. Personally, I avoid it like the plague during this time of day, simply because I really dislike crowds. I will say, having had to endure the salata-craving masses, that the employees do a good job being friendly, moving people through the salad line, and turning over tables(making it as pleasant as a crowded restaurant can be) Second notable thing about this place is parking. There are several spots out front reserved for Nothing Bundt Cakes that are never taken, which is frustrating when there are no other open spots in the lot. This is the other detriment to coming during lunch hour– it takes longer to find parking than it does to eat your lunch. And don’t rely too much on Texas hospitality, make sure your offensive game is strong as you embark on the parking journey.(This problem can be easily avoided by coming after 1:00OR just biting the bullet and parking behind Moon Mippy) «But you gave them four stars???» Of course I did! This place is great! The manager is almost always here, and I think he does a great job with the place. I have yet to see a wilted piece of iceberg! When people ask where I’d like to meet for lunch in Stone Oak, I tell them Salata on Sonterra, at 1:30!

Large amounts of food is served and a wide variety of quality choices to concoct your personalized salad! The staff was friendly and fast. The restaurant was clean and well kept. I held back 1 star simply because of price point. You can plan on $ 13-$ 18 per person.

I love a good salad, and Salatas the best in the business for lunch. However, all of their employees need to slow down, take a breath, and not take away from the restaurant. The staff seems stressed and impatient all the time(and I’m here more often than any other restaurant.) However, their food is fresh and wonderful.

My fiancé and I come to this location a lot, since we are also obsessed with the coffee next door at Local. Salata is great because I can stuff my face with veggies for a meal and not regret eating something else later, since it’s a hard find to get some decent veggies in San Antonio. The veggies are fresh and good quality here(you don’t have to settle for nasty iceberg lettuce here) and there is a lot of variety for toppings, lettuce(spring mix, spinach, kale), and dressings. I love putting fruit and nuts in my salad and they have several types here that you can toss in your salad for no extra charge. I’m also a big fan of feta cheese and they have that here too. I like putting a mixture of ginger lime and mango dressing in my salad. The croutons here are the best I’ve had and are a must have for me in my salad. I tried the seasonal goat cheese they had today and it was fantastic! Unfortunately it was $ 1 extra even though previously it had been free when my fiancé got it the previous week. For $ 7 a small veggie salad is enough to fill me up for lunch and worth the money. Another plus here is you can get the dressing on the side in containers if you want to save some for later or take the salad to go and prevent it from getting soggy. The to-go containers here are pretty good quality too. The not so great: They took away the pesto garlic bread and other bread and replaced it with wheat bread and asiago bread. Both are pretty plain and tasteless and not to my liking. They don’t warm up in the toaster as well either. The soup is subpar here. I’ve had the broccoli cheddar and the tomato basil. Neither were that great and you can get better soup elsewhere. I think I heard it’s pre made anyhow and they just add in the cream. Adding protein is expensive and the chicken isn’t that great. I wish they used more of a rotisserie type of chicken rather than the cube type. The chicken is not that juicy here. I’ve had the chipotle chicken, pesto, and regular chicken and they all kind of have this same smoked flavor. The workers in the line can be kind of chaotic sometimes. They get confused easily with orders and I come here often so I know. Often they have trouble keeping who has what bread straight. A couple of the ladies act like there is a lot of urgency as you go through the line, so I’ve seen them make me and a couple customers feel rushed. Overall, this is still my favorite place to go for a veggie/fruit salad in San Antonio and I’ll be back over and over when I’m craving something light and healthy, but there is definitely room for improvement.

My friend told me I needed to go to this Salad Bar and I am glad I did. You have a selection of different salads, I chose a green mix, you can choose a protein, veggies, salad dressing, breads, soups etc. Think of this place as a very simple salad bar. It is nice to be able to choose whatever you are in the mood for instead of going to a restaurant and finding a salad that meets the closest wants. When you walk through the line each item has a tab that provides the calories. One recommendation I have is to have the dressing put on the side or tell them light on the dressing. I asked for the chipotle ranch which was delicious with just enough spice however, my salad was drenched. Also, there are three different choices, a small, regular and salad wrap. I ordered a small salad and it was a decent size.

This is still my go to place for a tasty salad or wrap since it opened a year ago. The popularity has boomed because they open their doors at 11am, and there was a line out the door by 1130am. So get here early to avoid a wait. It’s a bit pricy but you get A LOT of food and it’s always fresh!

Make-Your-Own-Salad restaurants are only as good(or bad) as the salad you create! That said, I’ve only had positive experiences here and at other similar chains, such as Pluto’s. I love the insanely-expansive selection of ingredients and that the toppings are virtually unlimited, including cheeses and less common stuff like sundried tomatoes. Cafeteria-style line allows you to see and select everything easily and monitor your dish as you go. A huge plus is the several different styles of chicken to choose from(pesto, herb grilled, spicy, and more), while a slight downside is that they make their own dressings– I found the herb vinaigrette delicious, but I can imagine some people being frustrated not to find their usual«safe» options. I was also put off by the enormous ladle used for the dressing portions, next time I’ll get it on the side, as this completely eliminates any possibility of keeping calories down. Staff are upbeat and polite, but need to speak up a little to be heard over the music and general restaurant noise while behind a counter. Price of $ 11 for a regular salad with chicken is fair. They also offer breads, cookies, and soups to add-on to your order.

I love this place. It’s not your typical salad bar. Your salad is assembled by gloved workers with a gigantic plastic sneeze guard between the patrons and your food. You can get gluten free and it truly is. So fresh. So good. I’d eat there daily if I could! Tips: 1. Protein is at the end. Take a look online and pick the protein before you go. Then assemble your salad accordingly so it will taste good with your selection. 2. Kale is awful. Doesn’t matter how good the salad bar is. 3. Do NOT drink the cinnamon plum tea. Then there will be more for me. I am addicted to that stuff. 4. Parking is tight. Arrive before 1130 for lunch for best luck. 5. Huge line at noon. Again, arriving before 1130 helps. 1115 is even better.

Great concept and the salad ingredients are very fresh and good variety. The small salad is huge and that is an incentive. I definitely would love to have the owners open another one on the Northwest side of San Antonio. I will be you #1 customer for sure.

Ah yes, I am probably the biggest fan that Salata has. Again, another wonderful and high quality location that I would gladly visit again when I’m in town. Love this place! Eating healthy is SO easy and yummy here!

I came here once before with a girlfriend for lunch, and my shrimp salad was refreshing yet satisfying. Feeling super lazy tonight and not wanting to cook, I was craving something healthy for dinner after my work out. The herbed shrimp on a fresh salad sounded like the perfect solution. I ordered a regular salad with insalata mix, topped with jicama, tomato, cucumber, red onion, cilantro, blue cheese, with delicious sun dried tomato vinaigrette on the side. And then the herbed shrimp– I decided to double up on the shrimp and save half my salad for tomorrow. To my dismay, the shrimp was a complete let down. For the price, it should taste fresh, crisp, and flavorful as I had previously remembered. Unfortunately, it was luke warm, unseasoned, and tasted soupy like it had sat in a bowl of fish water all day. I’m not sure if this establishment was having an off day or what, but they definitely need to improve on consistency.

Looking for a fresh alternative made just about any way you want it. This is the place. Salad can be a bit pricy and a medium/regular is enough for 2. So per person it’s not bad at all. I imagine there are over a million different ways you could order a salad. Enjoy!

This place is great as far as healthy options go! It’s like a subway but wrap/salad style. Normally I go with the wrap and it’s pretty filling. The only reason for the 1 star deduction is customer service. Yes, they’re nice. Yes, nothing really gets royally messed up. BUT– I feel like most of the time I come here half of the staff seems somewhat inconvenienced to be behind the bar serving you. Also, the last time I went, the kid at the register was talking it up with some other kids he seemed to know from school. Which is cool– whatever, make work fun! I’m all for that. However, all the employees(including himself) and customers could see the line staking up at the beginning of the bar where only one other employee was working. You could see everyone getting irritated that they were just chatting it up at the register when he could have easily been helping his co-worker move things along a bit faster. Again, this is only half the staff. The other half does a great job– super helpful and friendly– but definitely worth mentioning if you’re in a rush.
