Susannah has a degree in documentary photography from the Academy of Arts University in San Francisco. She went back to school for her second degree in her mid-​twenties, and started a program in graphic design, but switched to photography when she discovered that she could tell a story best with her camera. After she graduated from the Academy of Art, she started her business.

Business Owner

Susannah is a Greater Boston area documentary photographer specializing in all forms of family portraiture. Her past work for National Geographic photographer Ed Kashi, at Wired Magazine, and for the Argentimes newspaper in Buenos Aires have all given her a breadth experience within different niches of photography. Nonetheless, she continues to be drawn back to working with families and connecting with her young subjects. Susannah’s photography style is clean, contemporary and natural.

I took Susannah’s Basic Photography Class for Parents at Little Lovage Club in the South End and thoroughly enjoyed it. I’m new to any camera that isn’t my iPhone and Susannah took this challenging topic and made is clear, easy and exciting to understand. I left knowing how to use my camera, various basic features and how to take much better shots. I’d highly recommend taking a class from her and will do so again the in the future!

We were very satisfied with Susannah’s work, both during the photo shoot and with the finished product. She was great with our baby girl, and she was efficient with her time yet did not at all make us feel rushed. Susannah has a great eye, is very easy to work with, and extremely accommodating.

I took Susannah’s «photographing your baby» level 1 and 2 class. Susannah teaches an informative and interesting class for those looking to improve their photographs. She is very well versed on the technical aspects of photography such as aperture, ISO, white balance etc. She uses photographs she has taken to illustrate all of the concepts. After taking her class my pictures haves improved and I have a better understanding of his to change settings on my camera in order to take the best picture. During the class she went around and helped everyone with their questions a out their specific camera which I appreciated. She also has a great follow up with her students after the class if you have questions. Susannah is a knowledgeable teacher and enjoyable to be around. I highly recommended taking her class to improve the quality of your pictures.

We used Susannah when my son was 6 months old for a group shot of him and about 8 of the babies in my wife’s Mom’s group. It was 9 wriggling, crying babies on a blanket in the park along with all the parents running around trying to calm down their respective babies. You can imagine the chaos. In spite of all the commotion, Susannah was like a pillar of zen and serenity. She calmly went about her business, and produced amazing, beautiful, funny, candid photos of all 9 babies on a blanket in a row.
Even though she only had a few fleeting seconds where all the babies were lined up facing the camera and all of the parents were out of the way, she captured wonderful photos in that brief time, photos which I know we will cherish for years to come. We highly recommend her.

We have twins and having gone through a studio session with them when they were a month old, we knew we need someone with more flexibility and can do the photo shoot in the setting we prefer. Susannah came highly recommended by another twin mom and we cannot be happier with the results. Susannah is most pleasant to work with, even dealing with 2 teething babies. Our girl refuse to smile throughout the entire session (she cut her first 2 teeth the next day) and Susannah offered to do a second shoot when they are both feeling better. I cannot recommend Susannah enough. She’s professional, one of the nicest people you can meet and we are very happy with the results. We will be using her again!

I was looking for a photographer to commemorate my baby’s 6th month birthday. I found many photographers’ promotional cards at various baby stores. When I contacted her, her response was very speedy and professional. Compared with the other photographers that I contacted at the time, I felt that she was the best option, so I requested that she take my baby’s photos. She arranged the time and place according to my needs. She responded very patiently for all my requests during as well as after the photo shoot so that I be satisfied with my order. I love all the photos that she took of my baby. Her customer service is excellent. I would like to ask her to photograph again in the future.

I used Susannah to take pictures of my family based on a friend’s recommendation. She did an absolutely fabulous job with the pictures — we used some for our holiday cards and have received endless compliments. She even came out to do a second shooting to catch our one year old in a better setting. Susannah was very responsive to questions and turned around our photos quickly. She’s great!
