Matilde is VERY VERY professional photographer! She knows all the details of how to take a biometric photo, plus how to make it look good! The service was fast and effective. From taking the photo to modifying it to printing it to testing it, it only takes couple of minutes. I will ABSOLUTELY come back again when I need another biometric photo. FIVE STARS！！!

When I moved here from a different city, and had to renew my passport, I was REALLY worried I would have an experience like I had in the past, where I had taken pictures– then they were rejected, and then i had spent a good 2 days trying to find someone who would take proper biometric pictures correctly.
Matilede got the pictures perfectly on the first shot! I have never had such a pleasant experience when taking pictures before!

I could not have been happier with the incredible service at Matilde’s Photo & Framing. It was the most painless passport photo session I’ve ever had and the photos turned out great. She truly is the best. Not only does she know her business when it comes to passport and visa photos but she is highly efficient. I was in and out (with Canadian passport photos, British passport photos and Indian visa photos) within ten minutes.

She is excellent, after taking passport photos I wasn’t happy with (my own fault) i decided to take some more the following week and she refused to charge me for them… Fast and efficient, excellent service…

I went to Matilde’s for my Canadian passport photos. My passport got damaged unexpectedly and I needed the photos urgently. I called Matilde to make an appointment and she saw me right away! She was a pro about the whole thing — she knew exactly what the requirements were and made me feel comfortable in her studio as soon as I arrived. She worked quickly but she also measured the printed pictures and made adjustments to make sure the photos were perfect. She was super friendly and knowledgeable, and I know I won’t have to worry about my photos getting rejected. I can’t recommend Matilde enough!

My parents and I needed photos for our Hong Kong (HK) SAR passport renewals. The Chinese government has strict requirements for paper & digital photos for passports. Since we must submit our renewals in person at the Chinese Consulate in NY, we tried to prepare everything correctly, especially our passport photos, so that our applications would be accepted in one trip. After hours of online searches and reading reviews, we decided to try Matilde’s Photo for two reasons: (1) the specific info about biometric photos on her website is unique and clearly shows her expertise on passport photos, (2) her responses on Unilocal reflect that she cares about what she does.
Before going to her studio, I called a couple of times for questions specific to the passport photos we needed; she answered them all patiently. We got to her studio at our appointment time and found it packed with people (a good sign): some waiting for their photos to finish, some were in line to have their photos taken. She took our pictures as soon as she was done with the people ahead of us. The taking-​picture part was quick and of high quality – I would compare her focus and efficiency to that of a NBA star scoring the winning basket with just a few seconds left at game 7 of the Finals. The photos took few minutes to develop, and Matilde finished them perfectly to the specs I gave her. I also requested that the digital files be output to the specs required by our government. Matilde converted our photo files to the required pixel dimensions and format within the file-​size range, and sent resulting files directly to me in an email.
So far everything was perfect – Matilde exceeded our expectations and would always be our go-​to gal for passport photos – end of the story, and you would not be reading this review. BUT there’s more: it’s the extra miles she did for us afterwards worth my efforts to show our gratitude here.
Shortly after we got home, I discovered that the digital specs I gave Matilde were not entirely correct, and instantly replied her email with the correct specs, asking for a new set of files. Within 10 minutes, she wrote back with the new files. That’s excellent after-​sales service!
Later that day, I realized that the Chinese passport photo specs I gave her could not be used for HKSAR passport renewals. The HK government, however, has different passport-​photo requirements (bigger dimensions). In the evening, I wrote another email to Matilde, explaining the mixed-​up, giving the correct HK passport-​photo specs, and asking for more prints. She replied first thing next day, confirming that we could pick up the new prints at 12 noon, at no extra charge! That’s customer service at its best, and that’s why I’m delighted to share with you here how Matilde would go out of her way to meet your needs!

Matilde was perfect, I wish I found her earlier [why didn’t I search Unilocal first?]. I was in and out with my Canadian passport pictures in 5 minutes and she’s right around the corner from the consulate.

Had to get a passport photo for a 3 week old infant — no small task. Matilde knew exactly how to get him with eyes open, facing forward, and not crying. She was patient to photograph him on his time and took lots of pictures until she got one that was great. The result was actually a very cute portrait in addition to a practical passport photo. This was all done while being very accommodating to my 4 year old who was tagging along. I’ll be back for such needs in the future. Thanks!

After reading all these good reviews I thought I would come and get my visa photos taken. I called ahead of time to schedule an appointment and she was very patient about answering my questions.
However, I wished I could’ve gone to Costco and spend ¹⁄₃ of the money I spent here. I’m not sure what others meant by her taking the time to make your photos all nice and stuff because I was in and out within 5 minutes.
There was no one there and I thought she would take the time to enhance the photo a bit or something, but turns out I wasted the trip, money, and effort.
Next time, I’ll just head on over to Costco.

Very quick, efficient and convenient. Matilde is also kind and considerate. Would definitely recommend it. :)

This was my second time with here — love this place!
Matilde knows everything when it comes to passport photography — from dimensions, to which countries accept digital visa applications, and everything in between.
I’ve also — shockingly — looked great on every picture she’s ever taken. I say shockingly, because I never look good in pictures, particularly passport ones!
The place also has a particular small shop feel that makes you want to come back. It was clearly build my hard work, which is impossible not to appreciate. Small marketing touches, like the poster encouraging you to take a LinkedIn picture really pleased my heart. Highly recommend!

Maltilde did my passport photo a year ago and when I got married this summer there was no question that I would go back to her. I love her little studio — it’s easily accessible, professional and makes the trip a quick in and out. But the best part is you walk out with passport photos you actually like! I loved my passport photo the first time and just as much the second. It seems like a funny priority, but somehow Matilde makes you look good for these usually drab photos. I only wish I could have her do my driver’s license photos (which I hate with a passion)!
Matilde herself is very professional and for my first visit we connected over some shared experiences. When I went back today she remembered me and even noticed I cut my hair! I highly recommend her because not only is she professional, knows her stuff, quick and makes you look great, but I think she’s a lovely person too. In so many ways worth the trip.

Went in for Canadian passport photos, she knew exactly what to do, even though the requirements are very particular and famously easy to violate. The pictures were done very quickly and I walked out with everything I needed in a nice envelope. There were no problems with the application and my passport was processed successfully.

Taking passport photos for other countries in Boston is hard. There aren’t too many people who do it. So I was very happy when Matilde made me an appointment really quickly.
She took photos for my UK and France visa and I had no problem in both of those and was granted a visa.
The price is a little high but well… she gets the job done and does it well. I would strongly recommend her for any photographic work :)

I got three Irish passport photos taken for my three children. Matilde’s place is BUSY on a Saturday, but we’d made an appointment. We only had to wait a few minutes and she took excellent photos.
She had some spare time and took a portrait picture of the three children together, and of me with the three children. My wife LOVED the pictures, and I’m amazed at how great they are. I even look pretty good in them! ;-)

Matilde was super friendly and great when I needed a fast passport picture.
Its a small office in the building between the CVS and the Bank up on the 7^th floor. (across from the elevators).
She has her small, and sweet spaniel in her office who greeted me for petting when I came in.
A simple passport photo was an enjoyable experience as we chatted about the holiday season, and her adorable pup.

I went there today for US passport photos. Matilde’s is quick, reasonably priced and gives a good photo. This one is a lot better than the same type of studio that did mine 10 years ago abroad. The place is set up with mirrors and appropriate lighting. Also, Matilde gives you a mini silver foil trampoline to hold, to reflect the light better. Matilde is efficient, not chit-​chatty. I called but wound up going by earlier than suggested. I was in there with 3 people ahead of me (they needed digital for theirs), and I was out of there in under 10 minutes. $ 15 for US passport. I paid with credit card. Recommended.
FYI_​to get into the building you need to dial up on a keypad outside.

I never knew profile and passport pictures could be an art. After trying every CVS and Walgreen passport picture service, and thoroughly convinced I was the ugliest guy on earth after Marilyn Manson (oh, and then there’s that ugly fat naked guy from ‘Friends’…), I Unilocal searched and discovered Matilde a few blocks from my house.
She is absolutely amazing. A professional passport photographer that made me look so good I think I have a shot with the laydeez. I liked my shots so much I asked her to help me with some professional looking Linked-​in pics, as well as a casual but nice one for Facebook. She came through on all colors. We took about 20 pictures, and she provided different lens colors and options, until I picked the two I was most satisfied with.
She is very reasonably priced, professional, and empathetic. I’m a regular customer for life and will easily recommend her to anyone that asks.
