Adrian Iorga, President of Stairhopper Movers, makes a point of acting as company leader, team foreman, and mover. He has been helping people move for the past ten years. He use a hands-​on approach in operating Stairhopper Movers.

Moving is our specialty — but for us the customer always comes first! We take great care making sure the customer is 100 satisfied. Right on time on the day of our move. Extremely professional and took care of all of our large furniture without us having to remind them to safely wrap each side so none of it would be scratched. We moved a large 2-​bedroom condo from Boston to Albany and our three movers were swift throughout the whole process. I highly recommend Stairhopper! In addition, email communication with their admin staff is always highly responsive and they answer all questions within a few hours. Thank you!

Moving is an overall horrible experience — but Stairhopper Movers made my downtown Boston move as seamless and stress-​free as possible. The movers showed up on time (early, in fact) and worked carefully and efficiently. They took great care to wrap, tape and move expensive furniture items (i.e. leather sleeper sofa, artwork). Extremely professional — worth every penny!

Casi and Adrian were absolutely amazing! I was moving out of an apartment and moving my stuff into a 5’x10’ storage unit. I had been nervous about whether or not that would be a big enough space to hold all of my stuff and when we arrived at the storage unit I was sure there would be no possible way to fit it all in. I told Casi and Adrian that they could just fit as much as they could in and that I would have to find another solution for whatever remained. They fit every single thing in that little unit without an inch to spare! AND they did it in about 20 short minutes! I was very impressed with these guys. I was so grateful to have hired them for my move as I knew that there would have been no chance of me being able to fit everything in the unit on my own. I likely would have spent hours trying to fit everything in.

Moving is one of those life events where we definitely do our homework. It’s expensive, tiring, and one of those things you just want to get it over with. Bad movers can ensure none of that happens. Luckily, our homework paid off this time.
We found Stairhopper based on their outstanding Unilocal reviews, and the other Unilocalers were right — our experience was amazing. Scheduling our move was a breeze. We were given a two hour window for our desired day for the team’s arrival time and told that we’d get a call on the day of the move. Adrian, our team lead, called us about 45 minutes into that window and let us know that they were on the way.
Once there, the team was amazing. Even though we had four flights of stairs in our old place, three flights in our new place, and it was the hottest day of the year, the team did not waste any time. They took great care in moving our large and small items, even wrapping and protecting things we would not have taken good care of ourselves. The team did not take a break throughout the entire day.
On top of having the best rates we were able to find, we felt that Stairhopper also showed exceptional professionalism, work ethic, and customer service. I hope that we don’t have to move again soon, but if we do, Stairhopper will definitely be our choice next time.

Stairhoppers provided an amazing move this past weekend from Boston to Maryland. Mike and his crew were friendly, efficient, and so careful with everything. I honestly don’t understand how they were so quick in moving what seemed to us to be a huge amount of items. Even the leasing manager at our new apartment commented that this was one of the most efficient moves she’s ever seen. I would without hesitation recommend them to anyone in the Boston area.

My husband and I usually elect to move ourselves, but with a new baby we decided to hire stairhoppers and will never move ourselves again! The full experience, from initial quote to moving day and post moving follow up has been expertly managed, professional and seemless, not to mention affordable. The 3 guys who moved my boyfriend and I from our 2 separate Southie apartments to a 3rd Southie location were AMAZING. Not only was it Memorial Day weekend, and the first 90+ degree day this year, but the boxsprings and large part of the L shaped couch wouldn’t fit up the stairs. Cue my boyfriend ripping out the entire living room window frame, during which time the 3 movers finished everything else they were doing. They then tied up the 2 boxsprings and our large couch, AND HOISTED THEM by hand from the ground into the 2nd floor living room window.
They were the most hard-​working movers (people) we’ve ever dealt with and definitely recommend them to our friends and to all Unilocalers who are looking for quality, hard-​working, fast-​paced movers.

My move was very simple – from one unit to another on the same floor of the same building (no stairs and no truck involved) – but there were two things that set this move apart from the seven zillion other times I’ve hired professional movers:
1) I was sick for a week before my move and ended up behind on finishing the last of my packing and preparations. I called Stairhopper maybe an hour before the start of my arrival window, just on the off-​chance they could come a little later. As expected, the only «later» available was the following Monday, not later that Thursday afternoon. BUT! Stairhopper called me back 20 min later – someone in the office had switched things around and assigned my move to a different team, so that my two-​man team arrived at 6pm instead of 2pm. This made **such a difference** for my partner and me, and was way more kindness than I ever expected from a moving company.
2) This was the first time since [who knows when] that I had movers who put real thought into what my life would be like in my new apartment after they left. My place is a box forest, but it’s a box forest with walkways everywhere I could need to go! All of my bookcases, dressers, and closets are easily accessible to be unpacked into – I haven’t had to shift anything around at all, which has been an unexpected perk.
On top of that, my two-​man team was friendly, courteous, professional, and never seemed to get tired even though mine was an evening move. I don’t anticipate moving again anytime soon, but I’d definitely call Stairhopper again.

My son was moving from Boston Ma to New Haven Ct. we were very nervous about selecting a moving company. After much research and phone calls we decided on Stairhopper. So happy we did! Not only did they show up early but the 3 men, Sebastian, Istuan an Botea were pleasant, efficient and knowledgeable.
They arrived in New Haven promptly and the moving of my son’s furniture etc. was flawless with no issues or problems.

Stairhopper Movers are simply amazing. I’ve used them for three moves now. They moved a couch up several flights of stairs that I thought was impossible to traverse. They must have flipped it three times as it went up and in. And now I used them for packing my pods for a cross-​country trip. I’m still stunned that they managed to fit our entire apartment into two small pods. You never want to challenge any of these folks to a game of tetris.

The reason I went with Stairhoppers was all the reviews they have received were excellent!
I asked my son to do some research and suggested them! Well, the reviews were proved
worthy of their testimonies! They arrived promptly and even with the weather conditions!
I was a little concerned with the rain and all but the way Dave handled everything was
perfect! They were efficient and calm through the whole move and Dave told me to not
to worry about anything! The way they maneuvered my bedroom furniture down the stairs
was amazing and didn’t even take off the railing! I moved from Woburn to Nashua NH and it only took them 6 hours for everything and they set up all the furniture! I definitely would recommend them!

We used Stairhopper Movers for the second time, yesterday. The whole experience, from booking the move, to changing the date, to the day-​of was great.
hey moved us into our condo in Southie, then from there to a house in Quincy. We were so impressed with them the first time around that we didn’t even get other quotes for this move. They were that good.
The guys arrived on time, moved quickly, and were incredibly gentle and careful with every box and piece of furniture. We were on a 3rd floor walk-​up, and they navigated the condo stairs with ease.

We paid 8000 $ to move from Massachusetts to Texas. We booked packing and unpacking too. The packers were very unorganized. They didnt label the boxes right and didnt group the items — just threw the items in random boxes. We ask them to use gloves for the kitchen items… they didnt use it.
One lamp got big dents on the stand and the table for our highchair was bended while moving. I noticed it and told the «unpacker»…a long discussion followed.
It started with: «the lamp was already broken when we packed it!» followed by «i cant see anything!» followed by” just use a wet cloth and you can remove it!” (Yes right! You can remove a big dent with a wet cloth!”…
The whole discussion was so embarassing. In the end we had to go into a looong discussion with the office to get our money.
And the whole claim was about 80 $ from 8000 $ moving cost in total.
What a joke!
I just got a call from the owner. He offered me money if i will remove my review. I said no and he got very aggressive so i hang up the phone.
Now he doesnt stop calling us. We had to block his phonenumber.
I guess that this is how they dealed with former bad reviews.
Unbelievable!
And now they are threatening us with a letter from their lawyer insisting to remove our review and claiming that we didnt say the truth and that the owner never offered money to remove our review.
We are shocked!

We used Stairhopper to move from South End to JP & it was a pretty smooth moving experience. They arrived on time and were efficient in moving the boxes & furniture /​electronics in and out of the apartments — they did a good job of packing the furniture & items such as TVs, Monitors, etc. in their padded quilts and disassembled & re-​assembled the bed as needed. They even made a pitstop to pick up some more packages /​boxes from the suburbs on the way to the new apartment.
I’ll definitely use them in the future whenever we end up moving again.

We used Stairhopper Movers to move from a ~1,000 sq ft condo in JP to a ~2,500 sq ft house in Malden.
Overall, we were happy with Stairhopper Movers. In total, our move took just under 14 hours, however we relied on them to do a good portion of our packing, especially for the more fragile items in the kitchen. Because of all the special attention needed for the more fragile items, I’d guess packing added about 6 hours to the total move time.
If you do plan to use them for packing, I’d recommend buying the tape and packing paper needed ahead of time, so you can cut down on materials cost. And think carefully about whether it’s worth it to you to have them pack fragile items, as the time it takes will significantly increase your move costs.
Although it was a very long day, I felt the team was always moving quickly and focused on the job. I never even saw them break for food. I did make a run to the store to keep them supplied with Gatorade and energy drinks, but still their endurance was impressive.
Bottom line, they worked hard, got the job done, and were more than willing to help us in whatever way needed to make sure we were happy with the work they did. You can’t ask for more than that from a company, especially in the moving business.

I have now used Stairhopper Movers for my last 4 moves. I would never use a different company. They have incredible customer service, they are available on short notice (scheduled a recent move with only one day notice), and they take your move very seriously.
I have used lots of companies over the years, but none have been so consistently excellent like Stairhopper. They wrap every item of furniture or painting as if it were their own, while still moving everything so quickly and with expert skill.
During my most recent move I had them move my grand piano along with my entire condo. I had previously used a professional piano moving company for the piano part of my move, but this time I decided to use Stairhopper based on my previous positive experience. They did a perfect job. Amazingly my piano remained nearly perfectly tuned after the move, which is surprising and means they must have taken great care.
Lastly, all the movers who work for Stairhopper are so friendly and seem to enjoy their jobs. They act like they are all family with each other (who knows, maybe they are?) and are always happy to help. I have never once had a Stairhopper mover complain about anything related to a job.
In summary, use this company. They are incredible. I will be using them for every move that I have so long as they remain in business!

I’ve always moved myself. Always. The one and only time other folks were involved with packing and transporting my things was when I was relocated to Boston in 2004, and my company foot the bill. Otherwise, it’s all me.
And I’m a stupid idiot.
Had I know there were movers like Stairhopper, I’d have gladly cut a check. Booking was a breeze (a quote request, an email authorization, a phone call, and a subsequent email to name the pickup locations and final load-​out), our three-​man team was 5 minutes early, and they were hyper efficient — even when storage facility loading docks and freight elevators made it difficult.
They were very communicative as to what’s included (unlimited mileage/​gas, basic insurance $.60/​lb, pads, all the stairs, unlimited stops) and what isn’t (packing supplies, tolls, freshly baked cookies). As we did not take advantage of their packing, the truck and three friendly professionals had our entire two bedroom house unloaded from storage, our grill and patio furniture picked up from a friend’s place, and everything unloaded for just over $ 700.
They’re cream of the crop. Would call ‘em up in a heartbeat if we ever decide to move again, which will be never, so I’ll gladly recommend them to other people, should they decide to move, which is a nightmare. A nightmare made more tolerable by Stairhopper.
