Moscow On The Hill

Martinis are fantastic, but they’re very easy to screw up. But at Moscow on the Hill, they do martinis right! My absolute favorite is the Sputnik, which is made with a horseradish infused vodka — it’s phenomenal. All of the other cocktails on their menu that I’ve tried are great, so you really can’t make a bad choice.
I had not gotten dinner at MotH until very recently and I was impressed. While a bit on the pricey side, the food is worth it. The chicken kiev was delicious, and I tried duck for the first time here and enjoyed it quite a bit. Great spot for a date night!

Great dumplings. And Other Russian Food, including a pie with beet ice cream (surprisingly delicious and not beet-​like at all save the blood-​red color). And Russian pop music. And overall feel like I could be in a Dostoevsky novel. There are a million vodkas here and apparently the best martinis in the city, but once I find out you serve Bell’s Two Hearted Ale, IT’S OVER.
Came here with high school friends and stayed for a few hours catching up. Our server was deft at returning regularly to check on our drinks. She also knew that the meaning of life is 42. Boom.

Restaurant is cute and cozy. Loved the bar. Street parking only. Menu is limited but food was decently good. Server was not the friendliest.

Very good experience. The staff was wonderful and friendly and my food (including the appetizers) were amazing. We ate on the patio which was a nice treat on a warm evening. My only negative is that the drinks were too strong. I guess I’m not drinking a Russian under the table :)

I’d give it a 3.5 out of 5 stars overall…
Initial impressions/​observations: love the location, street parking only but isn’t terribly hard to find, and restaurant is adorable! I loved all of the décor and Russian details but was not a fan of the lighting where we sat — which was red and horrible for picture taking! Haha
I came here on a Thursday evening for a dinner meeting and we were sat in the middle of the restaurant which made it a little cramped. Probably wasn’t the best choice to have our meeting here as it was quite loud in the restaurant, luckily we had a smaller group today.
WE (my friend and I) ORDERED:
Appetizers/​Entrée/​Sides
— Khachapuri — the flavor was not what I was expecting from a cheese bread but it wasn’t bad. The menu didn’t specify what kind of cheese they use but I’m assuming it’s bleu cheese which was why I was thrown off from the flavor
— Peasant Pelmeni — good flavor, the pelmeni is very hearty and cheese on top was creamy
— Mashed Potatoes — didn’t have any flavor to it sadly, but tasted better if paired with the cheese from the Peasant Pelmeni
Dessert (shared amongst 8 people)
— Napoleon — good flavor, not too sweet but I wish the puff pastry was more flaky. It was hard to cut into
— Sharlotka Pie — good flavor; the beet ice cream that came with it was surprisingly very good but also very sweet
— Medovik — my favorite of the desserts! Creamy and sweet but not overwhelmingly so
Overall, I thought the food was good and ambience was cozy. However, the service wasn’t great. Our waitress wasn’t very attentive and was slow to take our orders. If I remember correctly, she didn’t come to check on us even once — the bus boy did though.

Very good place to eat Russian food. I visit it every time I’m in Minnesota. I would recommend this place to anybody who wants to try out Russian food. It also has good vodka bar with a lot of choices.
I also like that they have very unique design.

My new fave restaurant. Love the ambiance, great cocktails at very good prices, great selection of tap and bottled beer, also at great prices. Superb service. Food is interesting, fresh and flavorful.

I’ve been coming to Moscow on the Hill for many years now and figured it was about time I got around to giving them the props they so richly deserve. Growing up with Eastern European family members (Hungarian), I was exposed to good Hungarian, Ukrainian and Russian style cooking from a young age so my personal bar is set pretty darn high when it comes to authenticity.
If it’s authentic Russian cuisine you’re craving, this place just can’t be beat. There is a warm and cozy atmosphere to the place as soon as you walk in. Indoor dining is comfortable for smaller groups as well as for two-​tops or solo dining. If you’re looking for a fab patio on the south side of the river for summertime happy hour imbibing then (aside from W.A. Frost’s patio) Moscow on the Hill’s outside dining area can’t be topped.
On to the food: MOTH has a wide variety of ethic dishes that cover a sizable range of Russian dishes. If you happen to be a Borscht fan you can’t go wrong with the Borscht here, it’s outstanding. The same goes or their Wild Rice Pork and Beef Stuffed Cabbage Rolls … Heaven. The blintzes and Pelmeni’s (meat dumplings) are outstanding as well. But the real star here, hands down, is the vodka bar. Choose your poison: from savory to sweet, their infused vodkas are absolutely S P E C T A C U L A R, and they have probably one of the most eclectic and delicious vodka-​based cocktail menu’s I’ve seen, all utilizing their house-​made flavor vodkas.
This is a great spot for out of towners who appreciate good ethic food as well, with friendly service, outstanding food and a beautiful location in St Paul’s historic Cathedral Hill neighborhood.
What are you waiting for? GO!

I know their original chef has left. But I just somehow assumed their quality will not decrease too much.
I’m updating my review from 5 stars to 2 stars.
1. New menu
They’ve changed their menu and it’s not good. some of the original signature items are gone, such as tiramisu.
Borscht: barely warm. Wow, couldn’t they heat it up? I hate it when things that are meant to be hot comes barely lukewarm. I know it’s not made from scratch after I ordered. I get it that it was made long before. But come on, lukewarm soup? It’s disgusting. It should be hot!
Pelmeni: this is such an authentic Russian meal you know and they now deep fry it instead of boiling it? Like seriously? Some things are better left as is, why change it when it’s perfect as is? No need to contribute to the obesity problem and it doesn’t taste better than the boiled version anyway.
In short, fried pelmeni is the worst idea ever. They’re not deep frying some freshly made ones, from frozen to deep fried never turns good. It’s not potato, we’re talking about dumplings!
Olivier: how the hell did they forget how to make this authentic Russian salad? They forgot I ordered it and I had to ask for it and they told me they forgot to write it down and my salad came loooong after my entrée arrived. Frustration!
Dessert: tiramisu they had was the best in town! But it’s gone from the menu? Wtf? What kind of restaurant removes their signature item?
Honey cake: the replacement for tiramisu. If it was better than the item it replaces, I get it. But it’s bad. I couldn’t down more than 2 spoons.
2. Service
They never had the nicest mannered waiters anyway, so it was pretty much the same old. Could improve service quality though.
I am so disappointed how it’s turning out. I used to love this place and come every other week.

A very lovely and fancy restaurant on a hill.
We arrived during brunch at 12 pm –they serve brunch menu only until 2pm. At 2pm they’ll switch over to the lunch menu.
We had the Russian Breakfast, Kasha, Borscht, and Siberian Pelmini. My boyfriend is Russian and confirmed the food is as good as it gets.
He was super excited to find that they served Kasha. He said the borscht was as good as home, and the slice of bread that comes with it is a kind of bread that typically can’t be found in the States, so he was happy to eat that up too.
Everything was super tasty and I especially loved the breakfast potatoes.
Service was attentive and everything went smoothly. Looking forward to returning to try the lunch and dinner menu some time!

I’m late on this.3 years ago. My boyfriend and I stop in for happy hour on valentine’s day. Waitress gave us their happy hour menu then took it away and gave us valentine menu. We’re so disappointed. We saw the owner talked to the waitress and they looked at us. We tried to come… We’re too turn off by their service. I guess we’re not welcome there :-(

Decent happy hour, food, and more than decent vodka. This place really will bring out the inner Russian in you, whatever that means.
I think Moscow on the Hill is completely different whether or not you are inside or out on one of the coolest patios in the Twin Cities.
Inside, it has a darker kind of lounge vibe around the bar and a separate, brighter room for the dining area. Don’t wait to be seated if you want to go to the bar or the patio. The atmosphere in the dining area is no different than any other established diner and really not why I choose to go to this place. I choose this place to belly up to the dark bar with some close friends, throwing back deliciously house vodkas and talking about overthrowing the current régime. I think the atmosphere really encourages that sort of behavior.
Outside is a awesome patio fit only for Minnesota summers. There are normal patio tables and chairs as well as some comfier couches and coffee tables in the back, really a great space for a date or with a group. There is just something about dining outside in a beautiful space that makes drinks and food taste better.
Overall, I love the variety Moscow brings to Selby avenue. The block has really evolved into a go to place in St. Paul for bar hopping and eating to match whatever craving you have at the time.
Specifically here, it’s all about the vodka and pierogis.

Delicious Russian fare, classy décor and great waiting staff make Moscow on the hill a must visit. They have a great selection of house infused Vodka, I tried the horseradish upon the our waitresses recommendation and it was amazing. We got the (gonna butcher spellings here) the blini with caviar, borscht and Babushka. All of them were delicious and worth the price. They also had a great beer and spirit selection if you are not interested in vodka with your food.

Wow, man. What a place. Interesting Russian fare, neat drinks selection,… and an accordion player?! Are you kidding me?! Nice, America. Great place for a date for sure. Or just to enjoy Russian food!

I truly like this restaurant. I think I’ve been here at least 30 or more times so far and I just love their food. Over the years, I’ve tried everything on the menu and what’s not on the menu.
If you’re looking for a special Valentine’s Day dinner, they usually have a very good prix fixe dinner. Once I tried this and they served meals that are not normally on the menu, special Vday meals.
Some of my friends complained they are bit too Americanized compared to other Russian restaurants in terms of taste. This claim has some merit, but you’ll love the food here and that’s all that matters.
1. Bar
They have full service bar, great range of vodka selection. If you like to drink, they’re great.
2. Food
Just yum. After trying everything they offer, at this point, I’ve settled on several dishes. I don’t even bother checking the menu anymore. But, whatever you get, it will be good.
I like their blini, borscht, Garden salad (oh so yum), olivier, Siberian pelmeni, babushka stew and finish it off with the best tiramisu in town. Hey, I am not the only one saying this, the actual food critic from New York had an article about their awesome tiramisu on food journal.
And yes, I do go ahead and get everything I mentioned above and eat like there is no tomorrow. I do let go of the blini depending on the day. I just feel like I have to get everything from the salad to soup to entrée and dessert to really feel the greatness of the food here. Don’t worry, I don’t come here alone and eat all these, though I totally would.
3. Service
It is a hit and miss. Sometimes it is good, sometimes it isn’t. But I never had bad service here.
4. Parking
There is no dedicated parking. You will have to park on the street, which is free if you happen to find a spot. I never really had any problem with parking.
5. Neighborhood
If you ever feel like having a stroll after the meal, it is located in a pretty decent area. You can walk all the way to the Cathedral. Quite safe neighborhood.
All in all, great place to have a hearty meal. This place is not very expensive, reasonably priced for the quality of food and service and location they’re in.

I really liked the atmosphere, the setting, and the décor, but in terms of the Russian food, it was terrible.
The meat platter consisted of non-​Russian meats straight out of Costco. It is good, don’t take me wrong, but it’s not like the Russian meats.
The herring was good, it is hard to mess it up if it is straight out of the marinated prepackaged fish.
The pickles platter… I have no idea what it was — some cabbage, mixed with other vegetables. I didn’t get a single tomato or cucumber pickle.
Pitoshkis, Bilyash, and Chebureki were OK, not bad at all.
Kharcho soup was the worst that I’ve ever tried — it was thick and mushy, mixed with chestnuts (???) and tasted terrible.
Babushkas Stew — was OK at best — the meat lacked the kick, buckwheat was dry and tasteless — I had to mix it with the stew.
Finally, the Napoleon cake — it only shared the name with the actual cake, it didn’t taste nor looked like the actual Napoleon.
Overall, in addition to the interior, the service was great; however, because I hated the food, I have to rank it low.

This was my first time having Russian food. A friend and I stopped in and order a couple different appetizers and a half order of steamed dumplings. I was pleasantly surprised with the food. It was awesome!
We also ordered a few rounds of drinks off their never ending drink menu! There are countless options for vodka. The Moscow mule is a must try!

Dark atmosphere inside of the restaurant. food taste is okay. But very expensive food. Can get Greece, Russia, Ukraine, Hungary, British cuisines here, They have a very good bar than the food.

Amazing place in a cool area in St. Paul with a strip of bars and restaurants all in walking distance. This place is very chill or very formal. It all depends on how you want to treat it. Either way it welcomes all. We went with a kid and adults during Saturday afternoon for brunch & bar food. The dumplings are amazing, the Moscow fries also amazing. The selection of beer from Russia is also cool as well the vodka sampler. Over all sampling the bar menu to sample all was a good way for us to try it all and it was all great with amazing service.

Neighborhood gem. I am so glad that we found this place. If you love delicious food, vodka and a place that you can have a conversation, then you need to try this place. We had a group of 5 and they could have easily accommodated more. The service was fantastic, prices were surprisingly low in comparison to neighboring places.

Delicious! I ordered Chicken Kiev and it was cooked to perfection! Super juicy, moist, crispy, and flavorful! I also ordered the garlic potatoes — also delicious! A fantastic meal.

An interesting place to try if you’re not familiar with or have never had Russian food. I’ve been here a few times and their happy hour is great. $ 4 apps and $ 12 bottles of wine. The peasant pelmeni is great, however that’s also the only thing I have ever had. Great ambiance and a beautiful bar with lots of cool pictures and things to look at while there. Recommend it if you’re looking to try something different.

In the 3 weekends each year that I trek out to St Paul, the majority of my trips are to Moscow on the Hill. Yes to vodka and yes to dumplings. I don’t even like vodka, but what you get here is a magical liquid that you could drink forever. The flavored vodka is awesome and the cocktails are amazing. Find a DD and a group of friends to cozy up in this warm place.
Although my stops here have been all about the drinks, Moscow on the Hill also serves incredible food based on everything I’ve ever ordered (I recommend the Siberian Pelmenis). The food is crave-​worth, the drinks are solid, which are enough to keep me coming back.

So the wife and I both thought we would try something new, we’re not really sure what Russian food is supposed taste like, we’re not saying it’s bad… But they had put Dill weed on everything and still it was a very bland taste… One taste that exploded in my mouth happen to be the blitzes… It was a wonderful explosion of flavor and cream and Sweet cheese this is an taste experience. I shall not soon forget. The atmosphere is nice the deck is awesome and the service was OK.
Although this will be one of my frequent spots I wouldn’t mind trying something else here… Bön appétit.

This was our first time here and my first time trying anything Russian (besides Russian Vodka). I had the Salmon Filet with Vareniki and a side of red cabbage. The salmon was served blackened and it was wonderful! This has to be the best prepared best tasting salmon that I’ve EVER had.
Vareniki is new to me. These are dumplings which is still something that I’ve never had. I was suspicious at first but my GF swore they were good and that I should use the white vinegar for flavor. WOW! I now like Vareniki.
My GF had a whole bowl of Vareniki and it was more than she could eat. Great value.
I can’t come where with out trying the vodka. I tried their Soviet Flight this is 6 shots of different vodkas. Here’s my ratings.
Nemiroff Wheat (Ukraine) — 2 Star — Has an infused flavor and harsh alcohol taste.
Tovaritch (Russia) — 6 Star — Very smooth. No alcohol bite. Almost no flavor. Very clean
Green Mark (Russia) — 4 Star — Infused flavor. Less alcohol bite
Platinka (Belarus) — 7 Star — Even better than 2. Extra smooth.
Exclusive (Moldova) — 8 Star — Strong. Bites back. Love it.
Tall Blond (Estonia) — 9+ Star — cleanest of the group, I could drink this all night.
I spent around $ 110 plus tip for drinks, great food and dessert and it was well worth it. Definitely will be coming back here.

This evening we ate at Moscow on the Hill for the first time. The atmosphere is really cozy, warm and homey. It was the sort of place where you could spend a cold winter day watching the snow fall outside while sampling fine vodkas. They have cozy leather furniture for a casual get together with friends. The staff is very attentive and friendly. My water glass was always full and the staff was also very knowledgeable about Russian cuisine.
I ordered the beef stroganoff which was fantastic. I’m not a fan of mushrooms and I usually push them to the side because I dislike their texture, but this evening I actually ate my mushrooms. They blended in well with the meal and had a good texture. They didn’t freak out like they usually do. People with texture issues with their food will understand. :)
My husband ordered the salmon filet with vareniki, he said it was one of the best meals at a restaurant he’s ever eaten. The sauce was decadent and if it was socially acceptable he would have licked his plate clean. The blackened salmon was perfectly prepared and seasoned, It melted in your mouth. The potato filled vareniki with the dill-​Chardonnay crème were exquisite… they were delicate little pillows of happiness.
We will be returning often. Thank you for the lovely service and divine food.

Root vegetables, vodka, vinegary eggs and pickles, vodka, salty roe with sour cream, vodka, buttered fresh rye bread, vodka, repeat!
Russian food is particular, and it’s a type of particularity that is common among cultures accustomed to short growing seasons and limited food-​plant diversity. It’s a food that is meant to evoke comfort and memory, and it is meant to be hearty, enjoyed with friends, and warmed by vodka.
…and more vodka, and another round of Nemiroff, please!

I’m about the review one of my most favorite eateries in Mspl! I love this place the calm ambiance to the subtle décor to the red light fixtures love it all, I feel I’m in Europe whenever I visit this restaurant!
Yesterday as soon as we walked in we were greeted by the hostess and were immediately seated, it wasn’t busy at 7:30pm.
Toma was our waitress and she made sure she made us feel welcomed and kept coming back for drink orders and later food!
For drinks we had Pinot noir, horseradish shots, martinis and one other ginger based drink forgetting the name which was amazing! This place has the best drinks!
For appetizers we ordered the dill fries which were deliciously seasoned and were accompanied with 2 sauces and we also ordered Lamb Cheboureki which was crispy outside and juicy inside with a tomatoey sauce on the side! Both were fantastic.
For the main course I ordered my all time fav from here the beef stroganoff which as usual was delicious and saucy. And my husband ordered the lamb sausage which was good but not great I thought it was a bit dry and flaky I wish it was a tad bit more moist. Overall loved it!

Like my other Unilocal friends have said, Five stars for the drinks! I am not a big drinker but if I do drink, its Vodka so how could I not partake in the spirits with such a variety of vodkas, many homemade infused. The standouts were the cherry gimlet and this other red drink that began with a C, and was really fruity… Matt G had it first, then Peter R, then John O, and before we knew it, the whole table was ordering this drink that began with a C that I can not think of right now!!! Delicious though! I also had a White Russian and some Pineapple drink that the owner Nina recommended.
The food — -Not so much to my liking-​I will give a run down–
Blini with Chicken-​One of the better items I tasted. This is what I actually ordered because after reviewing the menu, I decided I more than likely do not like Russian Food.
Blini with Caviar-​I have never had Caviar and had I not had four vodka drinks, I probably would not have tried Peter R’s choice but I did and I hated it. Too salty… I had no idea the eggs popped in your mouth like jellies at the bottom of a Bubble Tea.
Escargot-​Another food item I would have NEVER tried had I been sober. I didn’t think they were that bad, I actually almost liked them. Steve D, who eats Escargot more frequently than I, said they were «Ok».
Chicken Kiev-​Loved the mashed taters that came with this. The chicken was average.
Lamb Sausage-​ANOTHER food I would have never tasted normally was the best thing I put in my mouth that night as far as food goes. Nice Spice.
White Russian Tiramisu-​It was good, not the best I have had though.
All in All, the food was average. I don’t think I would come here to eat dinner again but its because I just don’t like that kind of food. I most definitely would come for Happy Hour on the Patio again or to sit in the cozy front lounge. I had a great time hanging out with my fellow Unilocalers!

I came here a day later than Dita D., but I made the same dubious decision to have barely eaten all day before tucking into my first martini, the Nouveau Russian. I’m a sucker for a good citrus martini, and this is a darn good one. Good enough I ordered another two over the course of dinner.
I knew I needed some food in me, so we ordered the Moscow Fries as a starter. Soooo good! I know they’re literally just fried potatoes with dill on them, but maaaaaan. So good! I ordered them again when we stopped back after hitting up the Little Mekong Night Market (along with three other delicious cocktails, ahem), because they are that tasty.
I got the chicken Kiev because obviously. I really wanted some borscht, but it’s too hot for that. I’ll have to wait for cooler temps to check that out. It was a good chicken Kiev, but nothing I’d write home about.
The service was a little slow, but nothing like what was described in other reviews. Our server was pleasant and definitely got our dinner order in a timely manner.
The drink prices are sooo cheap for what you get. $ 7.95 martinis, $ 6.95 cocktails. Yes. Yesssss.

I brought my family visiting from out of town to Moscow on the Hill for a dinner celebration last night. I made reservations on their website a week in advance, and good thing — this place gets packed on the weekend! And I can see why. Everyone was super impressed with this restaurant. The décor, music, service, ambience and food were all top-​notch! Colors of red, black and gold, lovely decorations and photos on the walls and separating curtains in some of their rooms makes for intimate dining and adds dramatically to the overall feel of the place. The bar area had an astonishing collection of vodka bottles — we could view it from our table and I sat mesmerized looking at their incredible selection. It’s Wonderland for vodka-​drinking adults, this is a place that transports you back in time to another world. I can only imagine this feeling would greatly increase in the middle of winter with snow on the ground, and to come here for a nice hot meal and a vodka would lift the spirits and turn any evening into a marvelous one. However, visiting in hot July was also a special treat and there is no bad time of year for a martini…
Martinis — I had the Golden Eye (Privet vodka and Drambuie) and husband had the Red October (Stoli vanilla and Three Olives Chocolate vodka, pepper vodka, and dark Crème de Cacao — the taste combination integrated perfectly!) My dad had Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout which was excellent!
For food we ordered two appetizers: the Pelmeni St. Paul and the Moscow Fries. For entrees we ordered two Beef Stroganoff with mashed potatoes, Salmon Vareniki and the Babushka Stew served with mash and vegetables. We all got to try each other’s dishes, and there wasn’t one item that I didn’t love. I especially loved my salmon filet, which came perfectly blackened sitting on top of a bed of potato-​filled dumplings and a divine creamy dill sauce. Everything we ate tasted great, portion sizes were generous and we almost needed to-​go boxes but we made it! Our server was extremely attentive, and our water goblets were never empty. Our plates were removed promptly and everything about our experience seemed to flow perfectly.
My sister ordered the White Russian Tiramisu and we all got a taste — it was laced with Kahlua and absolutely delicious! The house-​infused Vodka is delicious — I ordered a Tiramisu shot and sipped it slowly after my meal. Towards the end the accordion player came by our table and played us a Hungarian song that was so beautiful. A truly wonderful evening and I am already looking forward to our next visit!

This place is so much fun, and the atmosphere, food, and drinks are fantastic. My favorite thing to eat here is the Chicken Kiev, which is pretty much sex on a plate. if you’ve never had Chicken Kiev, it’s a huge piece of fried chicken stuffed with butter and herbs, so when you cut into it, it explodes all over your plate. Heavenly. Their version comes with excellent mashed potatoes and red cabbage. I also really like the salmon vareneki, which is a perfectly cooked piece of salmon on top of potato stuffed dumplings (like pierogies) and covered with a creamy dill sauce. My husband really likes the babushka stew, which is a tender pork stew that comes served in a big pot.
As for the drinks, well, I’m not a big drinker, but who can argue with house-​infused vodka? If I weren’t such a lightweight, I’d try the flavored vodka flights — 6 shots for $ 20! As is, I stick with the champagne/​cherry vodka cocktail, which is festive and tastes deceptively non-​alcoholic.

This place has a sedate and stately feel, or so it seemed when I dined here for lunch recently. The dark walls, drapes, and wooden furniture are a whimsical throwback to the iron curtain era where agents sat in a corner observing you while sipping vodka, infused with a foraged herb that’s native to the Baltic.
You will immediately note interwoven playful elements however: the fun poster of the Russian-​version Muppets show is eye-​catching, and the couches are coffee shop-​ish. Fitting old-​world cabaret music plays in the background, sung by some Russian diva whose heyday was doubtless in the 80’s.
The menu reflects a selection of eastern-​european and Russian foods. Between two of us, we ordered borscht, the charcuterie plate with rye bread, and cabbage rolls.
I thought the delicate dill-​garnished beet soup was delicious, and my Polish dining companion vouched for it thus: «It’s just like my mother’s.» It wasn’t watery, and it was nicely flavored. But the appetizer size is too small to really enjoy. I’d appreciate a bigger size.
The cabbage rolls (with mix of beef/​pork) were delicious, and the tomato-​based sauce was rich and robust in flavor. We sopped it up with rye bread. The meats were excellent.
The service was friendly, and I was just slightly disappointed that because the staff were not Eastern-​European or Russian.
I haven’t had their vodka, but I’ve heard it is very good from a friend who regularly drinks vodka around the Twin Cities.
The ambience is apropos, and food won’t disappoint.

Came here for Happy Hour. What a charming place! We loved the décor. We sat on couches right in front and started with horseradish shots with a pickle chaser, which was recommended by our server. They were SO good!
We each got a drink and split the appetizer happy hour deal, which was 3 for $ 10. We got the beet salad, the chicken blini, which was like a stroganoff crêpe, and siberian pelmini, which were like little dumplings. The food was pretty good but the drinks were fantastic! And strong, yessss.
Service was a little off, she kept forgetting to bring things that she said she was going to bring, and she was slow to bring the check also, and they weren’t busy at all.
The brunch menu looks FABULOUS and I can’t wait to come back for brunch!

What to choose?!
Popped in here for a first time over the winter and fell in love. We came in and the place was hopping. We sat on one of the couches and shared the table with a girl waiting for a guy she met on Tinder. Apparently we look like safe people because not only did she tell us all about her dating life and showed my husband how Tinder works, but she introduced us to her date. Um, we don’t even know her, but okay.
Anyways…after that we ordered some cocktails, but couldn’t stay long since we had dinner reservations down the road. I had the Marusya gold and he had a mule. Both were tasty. We had already decided we need to come back and try some other drinks.
So, fast forward a couple weeks and we met up there around 9:00 on a Saturday, courtesy of Über. We sat at the bar and he ordered some blintzes and we each had a handful of drinks. Everything was good — pear pressure, the Carousel and The Baryshnikov.
When it comes to drinking, this is my kind of place — fruity flavored vodkas and martinis galore, all while not being far from home.
Keeping this one in the rotation.
