I was recommended RM Mechanical by friend that had used them years ago. (Russ had saved my friend $ 4500 for a compressor that another company had said was bad. Turned out it was only disconnected! hmmm?)
Let me tell you Russ is no Bull Shit !!! He will explain things thoroughly and there is no question in my mind he will only tell you if something is truly wrong. If he finds something is wrong he will give you every option available and provide you with enough information to make an informed decision on how to proceed. As a former general contractor I can tell you you don’t run across many tradesman with as much integrity as Russ. His prices are reasonable I will definitely recommend him to all my friends.

My father asked me to post this review for him as he does not have internet access. Last Wednesday, my father called me to say that his A/​C had broken down and asked if I could find him a reputable company to call. I searched Unilocal and found RM Mechanical and provided him with the phone number. My father contacted RM the next day and was able to have Russ come over in the evening to check out his unit. Russ was able to diagnose/​fix the problem and we are happy to report that the A/​C is up and running perfectly. Even more impressive was that the next day Russ contacted my father to make sure the A/​C was still working properly. My father is very thankful to him for his professional courtesy and will call him for his future HVAC needs and recommends others do the same.

It was 108 degrees today and when I got home from work the AC stopped working. It was nearly 90 degrees inside the house. I called RM Mechanical and they were able to come out the same day! They squeezed me in for the last appointment of the day. They were able to quickly diagnose the problem and get our AC back up and running in no time. Dependable, efficient, and courteous service.

Russ came highly recommended as a man of honor and integrity in his work ethic and honest pricing. I called Russ this morning, he was able to come to my home at 6pm the same evening, and my AC was working by 6:20 at a very reasonable price for the part and repair. As Unilocal indicates, a FIVE star review of a business means «Woo hoo! As good as it gets!» and that’s Russ of RM Mechanical. He’s been a blessing to us when it comes to our AC needs. He’s not a pushy salesman trying to sell you something you don’t need (like THREE other local AC companies that came out to check our unit last year when it was leaking refrigerant and presented me with bids ranging in the thousands to tens of thousands of dollars — I kid you not!) Their tactics were shameful and just short of criminal. Nevertheless they’re out there so buyer beware.
Russ and RM Mechanical, on the other hand, are in a class of their very own!
Russ is amazing. Consumers are often at a miserable disadvantage when it comes to breakdowns and repairs (be it auto, washing machines or in my case, AC unit). Our limited or lack of knowledge when it comes to HVAC units make us easy prey, at least admittedly for me it does because I know very little to nothing when it comes to how these complicated systems actually operate.
Russ is one of those guys who never takes advantage of that. Instead, he gets out here, troubleshoots the problem and gets right to work to figure things out, then… he patiently takes the time to explain the problem (in a very basic and easy to understand manner) which I truly appreciate.
He is incredibly professional — honest, true to his word and consistently maintains the highest integrity when it comes to operating his business. He’s a straight shooter, not a hustler nor a snake, like so many other similar companies like his — they’re out there — especially now that the weather is heating up in the triple digits and when you don’t know much, they know it and they’ll happily take you (and your pocketbook) for a ride. Not Russ!
Russ is truly a man of integrity. He’s a good man.
Russ has become our go-​to HVAC AirCon repairman. Whenever we have had AC failure or AC meltdown, Russ is the FIRST guy we call — he was here just the other day, our system is running nice and cool again and our family is thankful to RM Mechanical and Russ.
On a final note, I know now that before next summer comes around again, we will need a brand new AirCon system to replace ours and guess who we’ll be calling?

price was definitely competitive with other bids I received.
Word of advise though.. always call around there are so many scammers out there trying to hustle you out of your money and or freon. I had to chew some other so called companies out for their absurd price quotes. Also beware folsom state prison is teaching convicts how to get their contractors license… a lot of these scammers could actually be ex convicts. I’ve had a meth. Head do a disaster to my house last year when I hired him to do my insulation.
This company however is legit. Go with rm mechanical and rest assured.

I installed a mini split a/​c system about two years ago and it has never worked right. I have had a number of HVAC companies come out to diagnose the problem only to be left disappointed and out the money for the service call. I was told my system was to large, placement of head unit was wrong, to the system is contaminated. I figured I would get one last opinion and I found RM Mechanical. Russ came out the next day and in a couple hours found a leak and repaired it. My system now works great! I can’t thank Russ enough. He saved me thousands.

The heater at our condo at Lake Tahoe stopped working. It was old and needed to be replaced. Russ gave us a good price for a better system than the property manager recommended. R&M was quick with the service, and it’s nice and warm inside this winter.

I highly recommend Russ for all of your HVAC needs. He is honest, dependable, knowledgeable, and reasonably priced. He goes above and beyond in his work. I give him ten stars out of five!

We bought a house that had a lot of deferred maintenance. Russ has been out to the house multiple times over the last couple of years, fixing or replacing one of our 3 air conditioners. He almost always comes out on the same day that I call which has saved me from having unhappy guests during the hot weather more than one time. He always explains what he’s doing so that I might be able to fix simple problems in the future. His prices are extremely reasonable and he tries to save me money wherever he can. He even checked to see if one of my A/​C units was still under warranty since we didn’t know its history. He also insulated the duct work under the house and did it for a price he had quoted over a year before. Not many companies would have done that. I really trust him.

Russ Merva is a great HVAC guy. Professional, the owner is the operator, experienced, prompt, courteous, skilled, and reasonably priced! His home maintenance plan is a great deal for those who want to maximize the performance and extend the life of their unit. this is what I did a year and a half ago and its been the best thing. This summer when the heat was 110 degrees all of a sudden I discovered my ac was blowing no air. I panicked, figuring that it would be a day or two before he could fit me in. I called Russ and he was literally there within 30 minutes– clearly he had worked a long day, told me it was not a problem. He got up on my roof, checked the unit, discovered a wrong wattage fuse and replaced it. He loaded up his ladder and smiled and said, no charge. How can you beat that?

Russ showed up on time, figured out very quickly why our HVAC fan wasn’t working (dirty contacts on control panel), fixed the problem and charged a very reasonable fee for his quick work. We are very satisfied.

Called RM Mechanical to come and check out my A/​C problem. After paying for the diagnostic ($ 70), I was given an estimate and repair that seemed extremely bloated and suspecious. I called another company to get a second opinion. The second company confirmed my suspecions. They not only did a diagnostic, but were able to also do the repair that day. RM Mechanical wanted to charge me 5 ½ times more money and claimed they needed to hire several people to do the job that only took one man to do!
Please Note! I was contacted by RM via email in which he tried to bully me into removing this reveiw. This review is 100% real and I have all documentation. I would be more suspecious of the supposed good reviews. PS… this guy also made a derogatory comment to me while he was at my house. I will not repeat what he said, but it was extremely unprofessional! I will not be bullied, but if you like that sort of thing… he’s your man.

I hired RM Mechanical to do a complete HVAC job for me on a house I was building about two years ago, and they did a fantastic job. The pricing was very competitive, the advice was very helpful, and the work was first rate. They installed a new split system unit in a fairly tricky location and did a very clean and effective job. I use subcontractors for jobs all the time, and RM Mechanical was definitely one of the most professional, personable, and high quality contractors I’ve worked with. I’ll definitely give them my business again.

Recently had a problem with my Air Conditioning and decided to give RM Mechanical a call based on a recommendation from a friend. The person I dealt with was OUTSTANDING, he came out the next day and did a thorough check of my AC system. After he was all done, my house is nice and cool, and I couldn’t be happier!
