These guys were great. Gave me a two hour window, showed up right at the beginning of it. Fixed my AC last summer in 15 minutes, and it wasn’t just something I could have done myself. The main guy (can’t remember his name) was really nice. Would highly recommend.

Finally an honest company that doesn’t play games. Called Dave on a very hot week, where I am guessing he had a lot of work, and he arrived within 3 hours. He quickly diagnosed the problem and had it fixed within 30 minutes. He then did some maintenance extras (for free) and taught me how to do them myself. I would highly recommend Authority Heating and Air to anyone, Authority is truly an outfit that builds their business by providing expert assistance and old fashioned customer service.

This family business is the best! I was referred by Sierra AIr. They are professional, efficient, great value, fast, and get you to understand what they are doing and their process. They gave me great tips. I will be going to have 2 great COOL summers at least. They sure beat Bells Bros or other larger HVAC companies. Give them a call, you have nothing to lose.

I had a service on my a/​c completed this week. They gave me a two hour window on when they would be there. They called and said the Tech was running an hour late.
I wasn’t too happy about that.
When the Tech did show up, he went out the a/​c unit and found a loose wire in the machine. He brought me out to the machine and showed me the problem. He fixed it right away. It only took him two minutes ! He tested the machine and said it was working great. He only charged me $ 49 for the service. To top it off, he gave me a cool Orange Tee shirt with Authority Heating and Air Logo on it. Very Cool !

What a great company to d business with! I love to support family owned companies and this is one of them. Dave and his son David always shows on time, honest and priced right!!! I would definitely recommend them.

Authority Heating & Air is the best! A+++++ They saved us thousands!!! We had scheduled an inspection of our furnace because we wanted a second opinion based on an estimate for repairs that we got from a larger company, Beutler Heating & Plumbing. We never had any problems with our furnace. We had a maintenance agreement with Beutler and they came out for the maintenance on our furnace. Beutler performed the «maintenance» and came back with an astronomical estimate to repair and/​or replace just about every part on our furnace.
I called Authority and they came out within a few days at the scheduled time. The technician, Michael, was very polite and efficient. Michael performed the inspection in less than half the time it took Beutler and came back with good news. Nothing was wrong with our furnace except that it needed to be vacuumed out. We paid $ 89 for the service which was a relief since Beutler wanted to charge around $ 5,000 to make the so called «repairs». (They also suggested we replace the entire unit for upwards of $ 15,000.) I highly recommend Authority. Fast, honest, reasonable, what else can you ask for? It is refreshing to know that there are still honest companies out there. I will refer Authority to everyone I know. I’ll never go to anyone else.

Authority heating and air gave the best service I have had from a company of any kind in Sacramento! Even on a holiday weekend the owner himself came out to fix my air conditioning problem! The rates are more than fair and Dave the owner is friendly and extremely professional at all times, I would recommend this company to everyone.

AMAZING SERVICE! I called 15 places and got either no answer or a voicemail. I called Authority Heating & Air and got the owner on the first ring. He arrived within 3 hours on a Monday AM when we were to reach temps of 105 that day. Within 24 hours; our service was back up and running and the delay was only because of a specific part that required a special order. I highly recommend this company.

Dave was willing to come out at 10:30 to fix my AC, but I asked him to come the next day. He fixed the problem in no time and had very fair pricing. This is my new HVAC man!!!

Our AC died on a cool-​ish day in the summer, David squeezed us in on the same day to diagnose the problem and returned the next day to fix it. He was friendly and professional and was able to explain the problem and solution in terms even I could understand!

Our a/​c went crazy today, when it was 106 degrees on a Sunday. The person who answered the phone at Authority was very pleasant, and the repairperson, Dave, called us back quickly and talked the problem through with us, even though he was very busy. He ended up telling us how we could try to fix the problem ourselves, and it worked! He even came by later in the evening to check on it and make sure it was fixed. I would recommend Dave and Authority Heating & Air to anybody looking for an honest and speedy repairperson.

We came home from vacation late on a Sunday to record temps and no A/​C. Dave and his wife actually picked up the phone and made sure we got taken care of. I appreciate that he was willing to stay out until 7 on a hot Sunday to get our house back in order. Very personable and figured it out promptly. Had some suggestions for preventative work, not pushy at all. Our landlord didn’t take him up on it, so Dave just did the work and hopefully went home to dinner and a cold drink!

Just had Authority heating and air fix my AC. Went out today, the hottest weekend of the year so far. Thank god he came today because my house was already pushing 90 degrees inside. The owner was super friendly, down to earth, honest guy. He came out within 2 hours of my call and had my AC fixed in 30 minutes. Gave me a complete break down of cost (very reasonable) and honored the Unilocal deal advertised. Definitely will be calling him for my heater tune up in the winter. I will recommend him to all my family and friends.

As it likes to do after a long winter of inactivity, my AC compressor would not spin up come late spring. I called Dave and left him a message stating the problem and that I was a happy customer from the previous summer. He called back and told me he would be by on a Saturday morning. To make a long story short, he never showed and never called. About a week later I called and left another message stating that we still had the problem and would like to get it resolved. Again, we never heard back.
I ended up calling a competitor who came out and fixed the issue promptly. Dave’s a nice guy and does good work, but I can’t recommend a business that slips up on simple stuff like customer commitments.
*** EDIT *** I have returned the 5 star rating because I received a nice phone call and explanation about what happened. I certainly understand that life happens and appreciate that he values my opinion enough to call and clarify the situation. Like I said, he does good work, and I do fully recommend him.

I called Dave in the afternoon to get a quote on some AC work. He went out of his way to stop by my house on his way home, no appt booked and take a look. To my surprise he fixed it on the spot for a reasonable price.
Dave was great to work with and I will promise you, anyone that I know of or hear of that needs AC work, will get his business card.
This is how customer service and a company should run.

My AC unit crapped out one night in the middle of summer and I was stranded without any central cooling. Having an infant, I was more than stressed about getting my AC back online so that we weren’t living in a sauna. I was lucky as it was only in the mid-90’s when I placed my call to Authority Heating & Air.
I left a message and David got back to me as soon as he could. He told me that he could fit me in the same day and he came out to my house. I didn’t even need to leave my house as he David went to my backyard and promptly inspected my AC unit.
He came back right away and told me that my capacitor blew wide open. At this point, I guess he could’ve asked for my first born and i would have no other choice but to comply — the house was hot as heck.
David then told me the flat rate charge to swap out the capacitor and I was more than pleased as it was more than reasonable. He then informed met that I should consider installing a hard start kit on my AC. David told me that the compressor can run about $ 2,500 and up to replace. The hard start kit would alleviate both the compressor and the capacitor and extend the life of my AC unit significantly. On top of that, it would save money since I won’t have to worry about fixing either of those parts with the hard start kit installed.
He then informed me of the price to install a hard start kit and told me to think about it. He was going to go to the back and install the capacitor to see if he can get the AC going first. This gave me time to think about the investment as well.
After David fired up my AC, I felt the first gust of cold wind hit my forehead for the first time in 24 hours. Needless to say, I was more than grateful!
David then came back and didn’t push the hard start kit — I think I got to it first. I had that installed and I thanked him for informing me of that because the cost of the kit is indeed a good investment toward the longevity of my AC unit.
He agreed and went back to install the kit. He came back after a while with paperwork in hand and I started to tell him that I wanted to pay by credit card. He accepts Paypal through his website. I signed the invoice and he was about to tear it but I told him I wanted to process the payment to him at my front door with my laptop.
In this day and age, who says this??? «Don’t worry, I trust you — you can pay me later.» After being shocked and stunned, I insisted on paying him right there so that I don’t screw it up. He agreed and I processed the payment via Paypal and he wrote down the confirmation number on the invoice and then tore my carbon copy.
He even went back to his car to get me business cards. I cant’ say enough about David and his honesty, integrity, and hard work. He’s a stand-​up individual and a great guy. If you ever need Heating and Air service in Natomas, I would not hesitate to give him a call.
