Ryan and his crew did a great job on my Mom’s fence! I had a difficult time even getting a company to come out for a bid. They all said they were booked due to El Niño. Ryan was able to come out the day I could meet him. He was very personable and timely and I recommend him to others!

Ryan is the guy you need to call for your automated gate. Very impressed with the fence pull and locking mechanism. I’d recommend him to any friends or family for sure. Thank you thank you thank you!

Would definitely recommend this company to anyone! They did a fantastic job on our fence. We did our entire backyard and side gates and the owner was amazing with dealing with all my questions and making sure everything was to our standards. Very flexible with finding a schedule that works for everyone. Glad I found them and got the outcome we were hoping for.

We contacted Ryan at American River Fence to build us a 100 ft. wood fence with an iron gate and install an electronic gate opener. We had a hard time finding a company that handles more than fences and gates but were pleasantly surprised to find this company can do it all.
If you will allow them the flexibility of responding to your questions when they can fit it into their busy schedule, you won’t be disappointed with the results upon completion of your job! The crew works efficiently and does a professional job. Ryan, the owner, is pleasant to work with and came through with a product that looks great at a very reasonable cost. We won’t hesitate to contact this company in the future and highly recommend them for your fence, gate and electronic opener installations.

Made an appointment with Ryan who is a very nice guy and that is were it ends! Ryan came out took measurements of the fence I needed and told me he would email me the estimate along with pictures… Never heard from him. I called Ryan a couple of days later again he said he would email me the estimate… STILL NOTHING! I am done! I am not going to chase down a contractor.

Reading the negative reviews posted about this company shocked me. Through my experience, I have received nothing less than respect and helpfulness from Ryan and his crew. Ryan arrived promptly on time for the estimate of backyard fencing. At this time, I informed Ryan I was unsure if we would be able to get all neighbors on board for this project. Thus, this might be a stage by stage project. When we decided to contract with this company for the front fences, Ryan was quick to respond to my emails and accommodated my change of heart in height of fence (contracted for 7ft and decided on 6ft). The day of the project, Ryan’s crew arrived in the estimated time frame. Ryan arrived shortly after with the new contract with approved alterations. The crew did a great job and even removed some weeds (thanks!). They informed me that a pipe had been hit, but they fixed the pipe that was hit and we checked to make sure all pipes worked correctly. The fence is beautiful and we will continue using them.

First off– go look at my other reviews of companies and you’ll see I dish out 5 stars if I see fit. I don’t bash places because everybody has a bad day every now and then.
American River Fence is the exception. AVOID!!! I’m so beyond piping mad that it’s taken me 4 weeks to write this review.

I set up an appointment for him and his «crew» to come do my fence. Mind you, I’m fully capable of doing my own fence, but between work and other obligations, I wanted to dish it out to a local business.
Well, 3 days prior to our ‘fence day’ I hadn’t heard a peep from Ryan. So I call him. He scrambles to figure out who I am, what fence I wanted, what side of the yard we were doing, etc. That was a red flag. I should have pulled out then. He was so unorganized. But, I gave him the benefit of the doubt.
D-​day arrives, and he says one of his guys called in, and it would take them longer than expected. No worries, as long as you get it done.
About 3 hours later, I look out back, and see 2 guys (not ryan) working on the fence. Come to find out, HE HIRED THE NEIGHBOR KID TO WORK ON MY FENCE!!! No joke, he hired some Joe off the street and paid him MY MONEY under the table to work on MY FENCE! If I wanted my neighbor kid to work on my fence, I would have hired him myself! Hell, You could have hired me and I would have paid myself!!! Ugh! So pissed.
Not only that, but they failed to replicate our previous fence pattern and now my neighbor is pissed at me because she has a lot of the «bad side» facing her now. He cut my irrigation line and I had to fix it. He left tools in my yard, and in my neighbors yard. Oh, and he broke a neighbors fence that wasn’t even involved in this whole process. AND they dropped «quick-​Crete concrete» on my lawn and its freaking stuck. Not to mention all the wood shards that my dog found throughout my yard because they didn’t use an actual cutting space on concrete. Holy crap I’m beyond amazed at the low quality of work they and my neighbor kid did.
To top it off, when they nailed the fencing, talk about not being a straight line?! All the nails are all over the place and it looks like crap! One higher than the other, some even missing the bracket altogether.
I also found empty bud light cans in my dumpster.
I feel like I was duped and hired a bunch of amateurs. I should have listened to some of the previous posters on here who said he was flakey.
He WILL NOT EVER TOUCH A FENCE NEAR ME AGAIN.
AVAOID AT ALL COSTS! Beyond appalled at the low quality of work and customer service I received.

I wish I could give it half a star! This company had so many good reviews I wanted to try them and get a bid for a new fence. I made an appointment with Ryan to meet me on the property. He left a message to cancel 1 hour before our scheduled time. I called him back and left a message for him to call me to set up another time. I then left 3 more messages over a three or 4 day period and he never called me back. I guess he doesn’t need my business? Maybe he will need yours? Good luck. I won’t be calling American River fence.

If I could give zero stars I would. I Met Ryan he came to my house to give me an estimate for a fence. Shortly after we contacted him to signed the paper work and set up a time and day. Well that day came and went, he was a no show. We called and called and called, left messages and never received anything back. Horrible horrible customer service. Clearly after reading some of the more recent reviews this seems to be a common thing. I’ve never in my life have had to deal with a company that just doesn’t show up to a scheduled job and then doesn’t even have the audacity to call and explain why they didn’t show up or return any calls … My advice is don’t waste your time with this company. Find a company who values you as a customer and who is reliable… What a joke.

Ryan was suppose to come out at 8am to do bid, I called at 8:10 to see if he was coming he had to reschedule. (that’s okay things happen) then he came out went over options with me said he would give me a bid that night (Wednesday) it is Friday and I still have not received bid or a phone call. Thank you.

Had these guys come out and put up a board on board fence on top of A 2 foot retaining wall. Turned out great. They even wheelbarrow the extra dirt around the front of my yard to fill in the hole that I needed filled. Really friendly crew. They were quick and efficient. I’m very happy with my fence I called five different places in Sacramento American River fence was able to give me the lowest bid of everyone I called some being as high as $ 500 more. I recommend these guys without a doubt.

Ryan and American River Fence were awesome! They replaced a section of my fence and my gate in ONE day! They not only do high quality work, but are professional and provide excellent customer service! Thank you for my great fence!

The work Ryan and is workers did was excellent. We did board on board with redwood and I love it. It was worth the money and I have already recommended American River Fence to several friends. If u need a negative, Ryan took 2 days to get back to us once. That’s nothing when it comes American River’s work.

Really happy with the work that Ryan and his crew at American River Fence did at my home. Lost a substantial amount of fence due to wind and rotting posts. Ryan was very professional from the first call and the quality of work is great. Best part was that the job was done in two days! High quality and quick turn around time makes for a happy customer, especially when the price is right!

After meeting with the owner Ryan I decided to hire them to install a new fence in our back yard. I’m happy that they were able to do it all in one day since that was important due to an apartment complex is our neighbor. We needed a bigger and better fence for more privacy and they were able to help us with that. We are happy with the privacy and the look that our new fence provides. Ryan and the crew were easy to work with and I’m pleased with the customer service I’ve received. We will hire American River Fence again to do some of other projects we have going including a vinyl fence for front yard, planter boxes and trellis.

I found American river fence on Craigslist and am so pleased with the new fence they installed in my backyard. Working with Ryan throughout the entire process was awesome, from the initial bid to completion of job! Off all the companies, He was the only one who was able to give a quote on a weekend. He is very patient, professional, easy to communicate with (via text or phone) — always responsive. Their prices are reasonable compared to other quotes we got. They completed the job on time and will be getting another bid from him soon on adding concrete to our backyard. Thanks so much Ryan!

I took a chance on hiring a fence contractor from Craigslist and boy did I get LUCKY! Its hard to get a contractor to even call you back these days… well Ryan not only called back immediately he was awesome to work with. He was in constant communication with the project (a rarity these days) and he did a beautiful job installing a big ranch vinyl fence and solar gate system at a very reasonable price!!! Very pleased with his work and professionalism and will refer him to all my friends!

Ryan Enright owner of American River Fence replaced my 16 year old Redwood fence (which was approximately 360 feet with an RV gate and a standard gate) with a 5″ dog-​eared redwood fence and I was very impressed. The wood used had very few knots and was actually thicker and of a much higher quality than the wood you see at Home Depot, Lowes, etc… He used a new style of steel posts called Z-​Posts that actually made the fence thinner as the 2×4 rails are mounted verticle instead of horizontal. It was a 3 rail fence and the job was completed very quickly and proffessionally. I would recommend American River Fence to anyone. The cost was competitive and the workmanship was impeccable.
