My son loves his new haircut. He is very picky and has not been happy with his haircuts for the last 3 years. I think we found a keeper. Sorry, I don’t recall the Asian lady that cut his hair.

Once you dye your hair, you will want to color it more!
Michelle does amazing coloring work and I highly recommend her. I am very satisfied with my ombré/​balayage hair and I cannot wait to go back to go lighter. I didn’t want to go light too fast due to damage.
The staff members are very friendly and always made me feel very welcome. They are very knowledgeable with their work and you will not be disappointed!
It does get very pricey, but it is all worth it.
I will be back very soon!

Ethan has been doing my hair for the last 3 years and always makes sure I’m completely satisfied. I go to him for color, cut and he gives really good head massages as well. He’s such a nice guy too. Thank you, Ethan.

I’m giving it a one star because I went in on a Sunday morning and the hairdresser that was sitting there on her phone rejected me because she said my hair was too much work and I needed an appointment because she didn’t have time to fit me in. When she was looking through her book, it looked empty and the fact that she was just sitting there doing nothing felt like she was denying me service. Luckily I found another location that striped my purple hair, cut and dyed it. Apparently their business is doing well enough to deny clients.

I’ve been a client of Aaron’s for several years now. He is the most consistent stylist I’ve been to. Every appointment, he’s been attentive to my needs. He asks questions to make sure he’s giving you what you want. He’s busy for a reason, so make sure to have an appointment.

I’m very disappointed in the service I received and I will never come back. My haircut was rushed. The stylist started to cut the left side of my hair and when his next appointment came in, he handed me the mirror and wanted to send me off. I told him that my hair is uneven and he need to cut the right side and blend in my layers, he made funny faces and walked away from the station a couple times pretending something was in his eyes. Needless to say my hair is F-​up.

I’m fucking livid right now… On Saturday ⁴⁄₉ Alli tried to do an «ombré «on me. I ended up with a light brown base with ash blonde/​gray hair. It was so UGLY!!! Another stylist (I think the owner) offered to fix it. I came in on Sunday and he attempted to fix it and now it’s even worse. I specifically asked him to blend the colors and all he did but slightly comb the dye down so there’s a harsh line AND I have a horizontal streak in my hair. I can’t wear my hair down because too I’m embarrassed. I spent 8 hours 20 min on Saturday and 2 hours on Sunday trying to get this done.
I WANT MY DAMN MONEY BACK!

Aaron is the type of stylist that actually go sits in a corner to think about how to do your hair exactly the way you want it. I’ve been coming here for 3 years and I’ve never left unsatisfied once.

I have been coming here since they opened. I have gotten my hair cut by everyone who works here and I have never had an issue. Each stylist has their own unique way of styling hair, so you need to keep that in mind. I can honestly say that I can trust each and every person with my hair fully without really needing to tell them how to cut it. I would gladly drive double the distance just to get my haircuts here as I always feel welcomed and pampered. If you are more picky than I am, I encourage you to be specific with what you want and I am certain that you will be well taken care of.

I get my haircut here because Aaron does an amazing job. His ability to give your cut shape and style is superb. The environment is very welcoming and you get what you pay for. I live in downtown LA now and I still get my haircut there.

Needed a haircut and found Studio 79 through Unilocal.I called and had an appointment within an hour. Got setup for a haircut with Ethan. I’m very picky with where I cut my hair and this place was clean, well organized, and just nicely spaced.
$ 45 for a male haircut, standard hair wash twice with head massage.
Most importantly the cut was good. Ethan pays attention to detail and I was happy with the cut. Quick and easy. Would recommend.

I’m sure ethan is great for some customers… if you want a simple layered haircut or don’t know exactly what you want, he would be a great guy to go to. If you’re really particular and have gotten the same style haircut before, maybe you should try somewhere else. If you have several pictures of what you want and would like it to look exactly like that, go somewhere else.

Asian ladys hair cut was horrible…
I paid 45 $ and the result was bad
She was literally just trimming my front
with out even measuring length and
My side hair line was messed up
And i even had little hole

Being here for cut my hair for 3 years. Studio 79 is the best in the area. I remember that I was here about 3 years ago, I love this place so much, clean and gorgeous with awesome service!

I came here for a blow out right before I attended a wedding in Newport Beach with my boyfriend. I called the morning of and was able to get an appointment in on Saturday morning.
This salon is very well-​decorated. It’s got a minimalist, relaxing feel to it and parking is very easy and convenient to find and it’s located right behind the old Barnes and Noble that closed down by Puente Hills Mall. Upon walking in, I was greeted and checked in and asked to have a seat and offered a drink. Within 5 minutes, I was taken to the back to get a wash with a relaxing head massage which was absolutely awesome.
After that, Jerry helped to style my hair and did so exactly the way I wanted — loose curls that were brushed and recurled with a wand after because my hair falls very easily. It stayed all night and he was an awesome person to talk to.
Coming from Orange County, I think the prices here are pretty average but I think they are a little more on the pricier end in the Rowland Heights area. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this place for hair services in the area.

I had a friend send me a picture of her gorgeous new haircut from another place and thought I should do the same and update my do since it was getting boring. I had called Studio 79 after perusing Unilocal and being impressed by the rave reviews and how trendy their customer pics looked.
They were absolutely amazing, I called in at 2:05 and asked if it’s possible to just get my hair cut before 3pm and Jerry slotted me in for 2:30. I got there at 2:31 and was warmly welcomed. I had just told him I am growing out my hair and would like to style it while it’s growing out since it looks drab. Jerry worked with me and discussed options of styles and things to do with my hair. I love how much attention to detail he put in and how he discussed ways for me to work with my hair at home to continue which fewer hairdressers do than you would think. Thanks for the great hair update Jerry!

I have never written a review before, but since this business just went far and beyond what I was expecting in a haircut, here’s the credit they deserve.
They aren’t the most affordable option considering it is a $ 45 base haircut but if you bring in some style ideas that look somewhat complicated for an average cosmetologist, their results will definitely be better than your everyday salon.
I have gone to so many other places that now, I surely won’t ever return to those places for new styles. At most I’ll drop by cheaper salons for simple trims.
Studio79 is where you go if you want something new but do not want bad results. If the style you are after is very basic, you might be wasting a little more money than you need to.
At Studio79, you get a shampoo and conditioning with scalp treatment plus the basics, followed by a rinse with another shampoo and conditioning session, final styling, and a Q&A session with your stylist.
My stylist Jerry gave great advice on how to manage the hair style I requested, what kind of products I should look for, what to avoid and answer everything else I had asked.
They are not one of those salons that avoid the ‘How do I style this?’ question with a ‘Everyone has they’re own way of doing it.’ answer because they don’t know … They will give straight answers.
Also, refreshments are included with the experience.

First off the décor in this place is very cool! The barbers looked sharp and they had some comfy looking leather seats in front. Three people were getting their haircut and no one was waiting. I showed up at 3pm on a Sunday. No one said «hello» or «hi» instead they one of the barbers just looked at me. I asked if they took walk ins. One of the barbers told me they were kinda busy and went back to cutting hair.
It’s my day off and I had nothing to do. I could have waited 3 hours I wasn’t in any kind of rush. This place needs to work on customer service. Just a simple «hello» can go a long way.

He didn’t charge me an arm and leg to fix it either like some places. IF you read my past reviews you knew what I was going through. My roots were dark and I just wanted it a little lighter to match the ash blonde when I came in. The ombré lines needed to be blended in more so it wouldn’t look so harsh. Aaron directed Marissa (sorry if I messed up the name!) in fixing my hair and it turned out great! She was so friendly and the hair massage during the FREE color treatment was soooo nice!
I will stop being lazy and make the drive to Rowland to get my hair done. I really like how he cuts my hair and I appreciate that he takes the time to sit and talk with me about my hair. Aaron saw my hair before I attempt to fix it, so he knows the ordeal I had to go through and helped me list the steps on how to get it fixed.
5 stars for helping me not having to wear a bun everyday!

This review is long overdue but I use to come here for trims but never a full cut. Therefore, this was my first actual haircut styling in I would say about 9 or 10 years. I like to keep my hair long and get a trim every now and then. But I thought it was about time that I did something with my hair after my sisters said I looked like a hot mess with my hair past my booty and no definition to my hair at all.
I’m terribly afraid to get my hair cut by Asians because I have a fear of getting it cut shorter than I say I want it. Also I don’t want to look like a fob or get my hair cut so short that I look like a dyke (no offense). & American people don’t know how to cut Asian hair. So after my sisters and mom convinced me to come here I decided to get it cut by Aaron. He cut off about 10 – 12 inches and also gave me some long layers. In the end I was pretty satisfied with it, but I felt like it looked a little fobby for a week or so.
Aaron also does a really good job with mens haircut. My bf is super picky and only trusts Aaron to touch his hair!
