I needed 6 – 7 large trees removed from my yard in El Cerrito. Julian texted me back within 10 minutes of my phone call requesting service. He set an appt. for the following day at 7:30am and was there on the dot. He was very knowledgable about the types of trees and confirmed they were dead/​nuisance due to growth/​roots. He quoted a much more reasonable amount than I would have thought, since my «gardener» had wanted $ 800 for some dead shrubs and one tree removed! He arrived with his crew on the appointed day, and within 3 hours had removed and mulched them and swept everything down. The yard looks great and I will hire him again when need arises. Very friendly and efficient young man.

Julian, Carlos, and the rest of the team are experts in their field. We are highly satisfied with the work they did on removing the tree from the front yard and the big bush out in the backyard. Julian provides availability right away and the cost is the fairest versus other competitors. I know this to be true because I called around. Carlos was helpful to also plug a leaky sprinkler out in the front yard.
I can’t ask for anything more. They’re good people to work with.

During the recent storm we had a huge tree fall and Julian Tree Care removed it for us.
He and his crew worked very hard, they were punctual, respectful, did a great job, had the best equipment for this challenging job and left everything clean. They even took the debris off of our swimming pool.

Julian was very helpful! I needed two rather large tree stumps removed in my backyard. He worked fast and efficiently in removing them and gave a reasonable price. He gave us some helpful tips and ideas on how to improve our landscaping, which I’m thankful for. We bought this property knowing we needed to put some work into it. My tree was leaning towards my neighbors house and gave me sleepless nights as I worry it will injure someone at night while they slumber away. In addition, the notorious tree was challenging to get to as it was located in a downhill slope about 10 ft away with overgrown vegetation. Serafin-​o, as I call him was amazing, he climbed up and started working his chainsaw. I was away from my property for 2 hours and by the time I came back, the tree was down and additional 6 crew members helped haul the segment of woods up and down the hill towards my driveway. They also cleared 4 medium (approximately 15ft) sized trees away from my property and 8 (ranging from 3ft-​8ft) small ones.
Later, he drove an orange wood shredding truck near my driveway and every woodblock turned into mulch. The job started from 8:30 till 3:30. My neighbors were happy and I could finally get some rest at night.

Julian is easy to communicate with and fair. His foreman Carlos is friendly and efficient. The entire crew was professional, courteous, highly skilled, and very careful. I would highly recommend!

Julian’s crew came on time and ready to go. Very happy with the work. I like it that Julian gets harnessed and is up in the tree and not just some guy who leaves everything to his crew. They finished on time, cleaned up, good price, very happy.

I found Julian on Unilocal.I needed several juniper bushes, and a few small trees removed. He came out to give an estimate on a Saturday, and told me that he’ll beat our other estimate. He did, and we booked him. A week later, his crew of 3 men came to the house on time. They were very professional and worked well together. The crew worked very fast, and they cleaned up the yard afterwards. Mission Accomplished.

I would rate Julian 4.75 stars. Julian (or the person I assume was Julian) was very accommodating when scheduling an estimate and tree cutting. They cut down a dead tree in our backyard. And last minute, we asked them to cut two bushes in our front yard. The crew not only cut the bushes but they also cleaned up all the leaves and put them in our garbage bin.
My only minor complaint was that they left garage in our backyard. I provided the crew water because it was so hot while they worked. They left the empty water bottles in our backyard. Also they didn’t pick up all the small branches around the tree they cut down.
All in all I would still recommend this company.

Julian was the lowest bidder. His crew showed up promptly, did the work as agreed, and cleaned up very well. The workers were polite and it seemed like they knew what they were doing. And best of all: after the crew left, Julian came by to make sure all went well. When I mentioned that I wished that I’d remembered to ask them to sweep the leaves off the roof, he got out my ladder and went up there himself, swept the roof and got the debris out of my recently cleaned gutters. So, yes, I recommend them and will call them again when my trees need attention.

These guys know there stuff & they make it look easy. They arrived on time & started right on it. After all was said & done they cleaned up everything. I was impressed. Prices were fair. Great service great guys Carlos and his crew of one were simply amazing. I wish I knew the second guys name because he deserves a big thank you as well. They cut down my horrible 40 ft juniper trees and cleaned up everything like they were never there. They even helped me cover my koi pond so it wouldn’t get wood shavings in it. They even had to work around the second koi pond we are digging and still did an amazing job.
Thanks so much for your quick response and I can’t wait to get you out here to take down my other 3. One was hiding on the side of the house.

On point! Julian came out, gave me a great estimate. He was available within a few days, and arrived on time. His crew plowed through two tree removals, stump grinding, hedge trimming and roto-​tilling in a short time. The trimmed trees and shrubs look great! They stopped on one section because of a possible water main, and they came back two days later when the area was marked. A week later (after I paid them), I found a few broken sprinklers from the rototill. Julian and his crew came back to fix them. Not many people would bother to come back after they had been paid. Honest guys! I’ll have them back for my tree and shrub needs, and happily refer them to neighbors.

Julian and his team are the dictionary definition of professional. Julian was quick to respond to my request for a quote to remove some massive Pampas Grass from my backyard (will post before/​after pics) and did the work the next day. Tough, messy job, but they were relentless! I highly, highly recommend Julian Tree Service for your needs!

Wanting to remove the huge juniper bushes from our front yard, I called Julian Tree & Shrub based on their excellent Unilocal Reviews. Julian answered the phone and offered to give me a free estimate in the next couple of hours which worked out perfectly for me. He arrived on time, assessed the situation, and gave me a bid on the spot. We agreed that he would remove all stumps and the entire root system of the junipers. I did not get any other estimates as I felt like Julian Tree & Shrub was the right company for the job. He arrived with his crew the very next day and proceeded to quickly remove the junipers from our yard. Once everything was cleared away, it was evident that some of the stumps may be near gas and water lines. Julian told me that I should contact PG&E and EBMUD to determine exactly where the lines were before he went in with the stump grinder. He said that I should call him once I had determined where the lines were and he would come back to finish the job. If the stumps were near gas and water lines, he would not use the stump grinder but he would remove as much as he could manually and then use root poison on the rest. I appreciated his careful approach as the last thing I want to do is break a gas or water line.
Julian Tree & Shrub is a company with great integrity and I trust them implicitly. They are very pleasant to work with and they work quickly, in a clean and professional manner. Julian arrived at my residence this morning to discuss the review I wrote two months ago. He had to leave the country to tend to his mother.
Because he had no access to Email or his cell phone, he was unaware of my disappointment. We agreed to continue doing business and I have changed my review.

Yes, Julian gives good prices but you definitely get what you pay for. If you do go with him, I would make sure you watch the project through (be present).
He came out on a Friday with his crew and during the afternoon he told me he couldn’t finish the job. This was mainly due the bobcat breaking down, which I was fine with. He told me that he could get another one to come probably on Monday. Long story short, the full tree wasn’t cut down until Thursday. I was out of town and came home to my backyard completely trashed (see pictures). The bobcat basically came in and killed all the grass and also made my lawn uneven (weight of the bobcat). In addition, there were marks all over my driveway. I complained and asked Julian to fix this. I will say that he did have the driveway cleaned up and fixed the wood railing on my lawn. This was over a two and a half week span. During this time, he was unresponsive and very hard to get a hold of. Also, he never showed up on time at the time he told me.
Bottom line is Julian will get your tree cut down, all the other details will be ignored. If you care about your yard, I’d find someone more meticulous.
